Outstanding food, great service. Most dishes here seem to be a bit spicier than they are at other local Indian restaurants, but in my opinion, that's a plus. You can also request that they scale back the heat on a dish. The Masala Rava Dosa (a stuffed crepe) was the best I've ever had. The Samosas were very good, and my friend's Lamb Biryani was excellent. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.

Meh ... Probably would patronize another Indian place in the future. I ordered chicken korma, mild, and it came out decently spicy. It wasn't bad, but personally, I usually just go for the flavor instead of spice when it comes to Indian food. We also had paneer paratha and garlic naan, both of which were doughy ... kinda gross. Also, the mulligatawny soup was lackluster. This place has good reviews, so maybe we just hit it on a bad night.

Small buffet for price, only put out minimal food, had to wait a long time for them to put meat in sauce. Drinks were watered down and expensive ( iced tea and pop ). They don't take credit cards under $10-but nowhere it says that. Who doesn't take c.c. ?? Not worth it-had coupons for half price buffet thank goodness! By the way, only open during lunch.

Fantastic indian food! We have tried indian food all over the US and this place is easily one of the best we have been to. The food is very flavorful and spicy.. Definitely satiated our indian food craving! The kulfi that they severed in the end was out of the world delicious! Wishing this new place the best..

I came for lunch and it seemed like the expectation was to go with the lunch buffet, so thats what I did. The food was good I was especially impressed by a delicious tilapia curry. This place is rather funny though. I was the only one in the restaurant and there was rather loud music playing. I can only describe this music as a mix between the classic bollywood soundtrack, the black eyed peas and dubstep. Not unpleasant, but I did feel like I was in a club while I enjoyed my curry. As far as Indian lunch buffets go it was generally what one would expect, not necessarily worth another visit as there are many other options for indian food, but if I lived close it I might visit more frequently.

We are visiting from out of town and looking for Indian food and somebody at the Hindu temple suggested this place.Food is awesome.Very flavorful and fresh. We tried Mali kofta and panner makhani.Very very good.Very good customer service and the owner is very friendly and very knowledgeable about the food.

I've been here twice. Both for lunch. First time the buffet was closed because it was close to some holiday and so was a slow day. Second time I tried the buffet. Buffet is fairly priced, but their menu prices are a bit high for lunch. They do not seem to have lunch pricing, so unless you want to drop $20 on lunch, then I suggest you stick with the buffet. Their food is good. Spicy and hot, but flavorful. The buffet dishes can be a bit skimpy on the meat, but just tell the wait person and they'll toss more chicken (or whatever) into it. I think that's how they manage the buffet's food cost. They keep the base sauces on the buffets in huge quantities and just add meat as needed for however many customers they serve. Their naan is probably my least favorite naan of the ones I've tried at Omaha area Indian restaurants. It's too dense and the flavor is a bit off. Too bad too. If there's one thing you can usually count on at Indian restaurants it's good naan. Buffet food needs to be "crowd pleaser" food. That means nothing too bizarre or too hot. You're going for a variety of dishes that meet the lowest common denominator of your customer base. That said, the food on their buffet is entirely too hot. I realize that people who like Indian food probably prefer spicier/hotter food in general, but the stuff they're serving up on their buffet is entirely too hot for buffet food. Take it down a notch! Overall, their food is hotter here. If you're used to ordering your food "Medium" at most Indian or Thai restaurants, then you're going to want to order it "Mild" at this place. I expected the place to be busier than what it was. Staff are all friendly and attentive. One time the lady cooking even came out of the kitchen and asked me, with genuine interest, if I liked the food. I think they need to make some adjustments if they want to succeed (better naan, lower heat level to food spiciness, lower the prices a tad, and so forth). Place is clean and well maintained.
Apparently cannot handle being even slightly busy. Just ordered take out for my husband and I. First they missed our order of samosas and when I told him that he missed it I was told it was too late to fix it and that ordering them now would make my wait even longer. it took over an hour to get my order and when I got home only half of my order was there. When I went to call them I get no answer. Never returning.

My sister, her two foreign exchange students, and I stopped in here for lunch on a Sunday. We were greeted when we walked in and told to sit wherever we wanted. We were the only party there at the time. There are about 12 tables and all of them were clean and had beautiful orange floral arrangements on them. There was also a large, beautiful bar with many liquor and wine bottles. We did not drink on this visit, but it looked like they had a decent selection. There was a buffet set up in the back of the restaurant full of many dishes. We had originally planned to order off their menu, but decided to try their buffet (it is $11.99 a person). The buffet had a decent selection. It consisted of three kinds of bread (naan, idli, and vada), three kinds of rice (white rice, vegetable biryani, and tomato rice), six entrees (chicken tikka masala, lamb vindaloo, and a few others I don't remember), a soup, and rice kheer for dessert. I loaded my plate with a little bit of pretty much everything. There was also a small table with a variety of sauces. I was pleasantly surprised to find that every single thing I tried was very good. I was less pleased to find that everything was incredibly spicy (even the rices and soup). I like spicy food, but I would say that on a scale of 1-10, everything was a solid 7, possibly even an 8 for some items. It was a little too hot for our taste and made it hard to enjoy the awesome flavor of some of the dishes. It seemed odd that a restaurant would make all its buffet dishes super spicy, but we noticed that all the other patrons that came in while we were there were of Indian descent, so its possible that their regular customers can handle (and enjoy) the heat better than we could. The waiter also brought us fresh masala dosa (rice crepes filled with potatoes and onions) which comes with the buffet. This was possibly my favorite part of the meal and was not at all spicy. They were huge, crispy rice crepes filled with a decadent and flavorful filling. I tried the rice kheer for dessert and really enjoyed it. To my unrefined palate, it tasted a lot like fruit loops ;) After our meal, our waiter asked if anyone wanted hot tea, and my sister ordered a cup which I tried. The tea was a chai tea with milk and was delicious (it is $5 a cup which is a little pricey). Despite the heat, I really enjoyed the meal and would definitely come back and order off the menu (I imagine you could control the heat level a little better when ordering off the menu). They have a pretty standard selection on their menu and their prices are slightly lower than other Indian restaurants in Omaha.

This is a place where one can enjoy TRUE Indian Cuisine. I travel frequently and do eat various Indian restaurants in USA. But this one is reminds me of my Indian heritage and taste. Simply awesome. She-the Owner spends alot of time in perfecting each dish she serves. I strongly recommend to visit(I rarely write any reviews), but this one surely deserves rave reviews! I visit more than I ever expected to because of food and the great atmosphere with very friendly staff.

My review is based on two visits. I wish there was an option to give 3.5 stars, because that is exactly the rating this place deserves. 1st visit: We went on a wednesday afternoon a month ago, most of the buffet dishes were empty and the host told us that they won't replace any of the dishes and they did not have any a la carte. So we just had to leave. 2nd Visit: Called ahead to order a to-go. I got a Andhra Chicken Puloa. It was just a take out, so I can't comment on the service. The pulao/biryani is good. It tasted very well. But it is not a Andhra Chicken pulao. It is just like a Dum Biryani that went bad. It was just a very greasy dum biryani kind of rice with some brown onions (to give you the andhra pulao feel) with some chicken pieces. Overall it was not an Andhra Pulao but it tasted well. They are a bit on the expensive side. I think they want to be in that tier of restaurants, as long as they maintain good quality of food and service I wouldn't mind that. good Luck with the new venture.

Got here at 7:00 p.m. Seated about 5 min. later. Sat here until about 7:20 before I even slaw a menu. About 20 min. later they got my order. Still sitting here at 7:50 waiting for my food. I hope it is good. The service is lousy. Finally got my food after almost an hour. It was good. Ordered a lamb dish. "Medium". It was about as spicy as I could take. I eat a lo of hot stuff, but would not have wanted it any spicier. They obviously are not able to handle things when they are busy. The cook and servers could not keep up.

My friend and I came here with a livingsocial voucher. I've never ventured to this location so I was quite excited! Upon arrival be forewarned that this place is in a bit of a shady center and the building+shaded dark overcast window+makeshift sign set a very bad first impression. We walked in and BAM only ones in the restaurant at 6pm at night. However the decor was warm and professional with fresh pink roses on every table. The waiter seated us very excitedly and then the ordering began! We ordered -Samosas -Roadside Nan -Chicken Tikka Marsala -Chicken Korma -Mango Lassi The roadside Nan is SO GOOD! its kind of like a little pizza nan with onion and herbs baked into it. The Tikka marsala is very good The Korma & Samosas were so-so. Mango Lassi was good but not worth the price.

I went to dinner here at about 6:30pm on a Wednesday with my brother's family (including 2 children). We walked in to a empty restaurant and were seated right away. The waiter brought us water, though they didn't have kid ups for my nieces. The menu is large and a bit pricey but the food was excellent. We ordered the Chicken Masala for the little ones and for the adults we had the Lamb Roganjosh, Chapala Pulusu, and the Dal Makhani. My sister-in-law had Muligatawny and said it was very good! The Chapala Pulusu was supposed to be salmon but ended up being tilapia (apparently other customers had complained about bones with the salmon-which just means it is real fish). I do wish we had been told when we ordered about the different fish, but it still tasted amazing. The Dal Makhani was the best dish in my opinion. It wasn't too spicy and had good flavor. The Lamb Roganjosh was good as well, though very spicy. We ordered everything medium and will being ordering mild next time. We had regular and garlic naan. Both were good, especially the garlic (always my favorite).

I had the chicken korma and my friend had a lentil dish. Both were delicious. The samosas were crispy in the right places and the sauces to accompany it were very good. We were the only ones eating in during dinner time, and that's a shame because this venue should be frequented by many. I was taken aback by the doughiness of the Naan but that may be how they make Naan in southern India hence the name, still delicious though! We waited quite a bit for our entree and raita does not come automatically with the meal, so those are my only complaints.

This place is clean and pleasant. Customer service great. I had mutton biryiani, an order of samosas and nan. Take out. The samosas and nan were great . I had no idea such delicious Indian food existed in this area of Omaha. I had chicken tika masala (like a beginner) and though my "medium" spicy made my nose run, it was well worth it. Portions and price were reasonable and wait staff was friendly. I can't wait to blow all my hard earned money at this place.

Hands down the best Indian food in Omaha! We went for dinner last night and everything we ordered was fresh, spicy, and authentic. The food all came out piping hot so you can tell that they make everything to order. I eat mostly vegan and my husband is gluten-free, and they were really understanding and accommodating. The owner is so sweet and personally came out to explain to my husband which dishes he could order (which was about 90% of the menu), and was also able to veganize anything by leaving out the ghee. She also came out at the end of our meal to chat and ask us how our meals were. Southern Spice is so, so much better the bland, Americanized Indian food available at the restaurants in downtown/midtown Omaha. It's definitely worth a visit and we will be going back soon!

India is the birth place of Chicken Tikka Masala and Curries. Indian foods are prepared with a blend of finely mixed spices quite popular across the region. The spices develop the rich taste in Indian food enough to boggle your mind. The ever-increasing fan base of Indian food around the New York city is steadily increasing because of the large number of Indians who traveled to the land of dreams. The Indians also brought their very own vibrant, colorful, and aromatic authentic dishes for the people in the West. While most of the Indian population is Vegetarian, Indian food is great for people who are looking for vegan or vegetarian food option. If you are a Meat lover, don't get disappointed yet. Indian food also boasts of some popular non-vegetarian dishes too. Few examples are the famous Butter Chicken, Mutton Biryani and Tandoori Chicken are enough to satisfy your taste buds.
Indian food has gained reputation all over the world especially in the United States. You can find many places serving the appetizing Indian food across all major cities in the US. India is a diverse country with different food culture originated from different parts of the country. While the Northern region boasts tandoori dishes and korma offering royal taste, the Western Ghats offers sea foods that is made in naturally sweet tender coconut milk. The South Indian food servers a quality of different dishes made from rice accompanied with spicy chutneys, curries and famous sambhar. Also, the Indian sweets are a delight to relish. If you ever want to have a burst of sugar syrup in mouth, don't forget to try few Bengali Sweets. Be it spicy, tangy, or sweet flavor, you can find everything in the Indian cuisine. Be assured that the melody of spices will surely bring delight to you.

Awesome food. No need to say more. The service is also awesome. Not very many good Indian places in Omaha. This is one of the best.

I swear that I have been to this place before and was very disappointed. However, after checking the latest reviews, I decided to try it again. This is NOTHING like I remember. In fact... it is so different.... it is kinda like a dream. Décor- Décor is upscale with table clothes and white shirted waiters. Very nice and surprising for a strip mall location. Service-Fast and courteous. zero complaints. Food - excellent. Had a lamb dish and my wife had the paneer makani. We use paneer makani as a baseline measuring dish for all Indian restaurants. We also tried the samosas. I am a huge fan of Mother India and this is as good.... if not better. Highly recommend if you are looking for Indian food.

(4)Tatiana F.
The chicken Tikka masala was good, but the Nan was made the usual manner that I've had it. It was crispy like a cracker not the usual way, maybe it's southern region thing.

(4)Shamia H.
(4)Star W.
This place is clean and pleasant. Customer service great. I had mutton biryiani, an order of samosas and nan. Take out. The samosas and nan were great . The main dishy was slightly salty next time I will ask them to go light on the salt none the less it was good. I look forward to trying their buffet in the near future.

(4)Mychele G.
I absolutely loved this place it was quite and the food OMG was so good and fresh. You have to try this place..The owner came out and was she very friendly and very helpful. I would go back. The portion size was great too.
