Pizzeria Davlo Menu

Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. Most pizzas at Pizza Hut are high in sodium and hence you must stick to one or max. two slices of any regular size pizza to limit your sodium intake. Try out the salads as they are not only healthy but also keeps you full for a longer period. However, you must ensure that you don't order the salads without any extra dressing.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for High Blood Pressure

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Great food; great staff! I'm a bit of a pizza hound and am so happy to find another location for Chicago style Pizza in the Metro. I would say this dining experience is better than Pudgy's. I enjoy that they have full bar service as well. We were there on a hot summer evening and the house salad and Irish Mule I had were perfectly refreshing. The pizza is prepared with care and you can tell that they don't use poor quality ingredients. The question I had before we went was could it be worth driving to 144th and Fort just to get pizza when there are so many places we will drive by to get there? For me, the answer was yes! Take the chance and go; I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Davlo is easily some of the best Chicago style deep dish pizza you'll find outside of the Windy City itself. Since it's deep dish you'll have to wait on it a little longer, but that's expected. We do take out a lot and it is great. I like the meat pizza. I also think Davlo is reasonably priced, which is nice because you don't need much deep dish pizza to fill you up. I would be surprised if a deep dish pizza fan didn't enjoy their time at Davlo. Brat

I went back to Davlo to see how the thin crust stacks up against the deep dish. The result was that they also make a very good crisp thin crust. With so many pizza joints in this part of town, I will say that Davlo's thin crust stood out with it's butter crust, similar to what you would find on the deep dish. Next time, I will have to try the flying tomato.

I have been looking for a new pizza joint to switch things up a bit from my regular stops (Big Fred's, Oscar's, and recently added Piezons). A friend of mine recommended giving Pizzeria Davlo a shot. As far as the pizza goes, I was very impressed. It's tough to find a well crafted Chicago style pizza around here, and this place serves a very good one (I will pass along my friends recommendation of the meat eater). I will mention that I was upset with the service. I'm not one to harp on servers, but if my experience at a restaurant is more memorable for the service than the food I think it is worth a mention. My friend and I had each just put our second pieces of pizza on our plates and had maybe got down a bite or two each when our server drops off a to-go box and our check completely unprompted. I understand pushing someone out the door is they are the last table and you are trying to close, but this was at 7:45 and we were not the last table in there. I was impressed with the pizza, but I will definitely think twice before a give them my business again. If I do I think I'll try takeout.

The place has a nice atmosphere. They waitress that helped us was very nice and kept checking to make sure our drinks were not empty. My problem is the food just didn't really impress me. The Chicken Strips appetizer was okay. The Chicago Style Veggie Pizza we ordered was also okay. The most impressive thing was the Maple Vinaigrette that I had on my salad.

We were in the mood for pizza one night but didn't want the same old, same old chain pizza. I am so glad we gave this place a chance! Somehow I was convinced that this place was pronounced Pizzeria Diavlo with a "I", however, despite my BF insisting that it I was wrong. He was right, I was wrong, so I paid for dinner. Our waitress was great and let us know up front that the pizza takes about 45 minutes to bake. Make sure you arrive with ample time if you're super hungry. We were starving so we ordered some breadsticks as an appetizer. I probably wouldn't order these again. One order only contains 4 smallish sticks and a bowl of marinara for 5 bucks. I like my breadsticks slathered in butter and garlic and that was nowhere to be found with these. On the other hand, the pizza was Delicious. Yes, delicious should be capitalized (and emphasized) since it was wonderful. They serve true Chicago style pizza with the sauce spread right on the top. The sauce was wonderful with tomato pieces and what I believe to be a hint of wine. Yum yum! I will definitely be back here time and time again for dine in and take out. We dined in or first visit and the service was wonderful. The waitress, though young, could have passed for a seasoned restaurant vet. It is nice to have a non-chain option our here in West O. Just a heads up, they are closed on Sundays.

I come from St Louis where Pi pizza sets a very high standard... However this place just falls short of expectations when they advertise Chicago style deep dish. I had a Caesar salad which was pretty good, the breadstick was a nice addition. Not too overpowering on dressing and it was a decent size. The pizza (we ordered the house) was "ok." I didn't dislike it, however I was disappointed to see the pool of water when the slice was lifted from the tray. The dough was undercooked as well, but the outside was crispy so it wasn't like they sent it out knowing it was not done. Finally, the sauce should be the stand out mark on a Chicago deep dish I think... And it was mediocre at best. It was slightly bland, resembled canned sauce. Overall it was a decent meal but I will not be running back here. I'm sure there are other alternatives in Omaha.

Ordered take out, highlight was it was ready on time. Ordered flying tomato meat lovers; the only thing was their idea of meat lovers and mine are different; I thought it would have meat, well it did----- just a VERY few SMALL pieces of each. A frozen from the grocery would have been MUCH better .

The server I had here was excellent. I just want to say that off the start. The young woman was friendly (pleasant and genuine), made just enough small talk, gave me an expectation of time right from the start, refilled my drinks and did not make too many trips to the table in my hour plus stay. The atmosphere is alright. It's a strip mall and West Omaha and you can only do so much with that. Nice and cool with a few TV's turned onto the College World Series and World Cup (no loud sports bar noise or atmosphere). Pizza came and looked good. Well constructed, savory sauce, good toppings, and good cheese. The crust though was very bland to me. Chicago Style pizza has a lot of thick crust and it's the part I enjoy the most. It didn't ruin the pizza or anything it just didn't put it over the top for me like I find at the one other place that serves it here in Omaha. If me and some friends were in the area-I would certainly try Davlo again or maybe even try a pasta or other item. I think they have their sauce down. Overall a pretty good experience.

Only have ordered to go and I have found you need to add 20 minutes to how ever long they tell you it will be when your food will be ready. They people that work there are nice, but they don't seem to have much pep in their step. Thank god the pizza is good or I wouldn't go back.

Thank goodness! I can finally get a true Chicago Deep Dish pizza. I am from Chicago-born and raised. In the last 10 years I have moved around and can honestly say that real pizza is the thing I have missed most in other areas of the country. I sincerely dislike NY style pizza and Old Chicago is not real deep dish. This place is! We ordered take out and it was amazing! The sausage is tasty and the sauce was delicious! I feel like I tasted a hint of wine? Regardless, it was a tasty and complex sauce. The crust was spot on-exactly what it should be and the thick gooeyness of the pie did not disappoint! I am looking forward to satisfying my cravings regularly here!

Enjoyable deep-dish pizza at Davlo's which we went to spur of the moment after another pizza place nearby was too crowded. Had a nice Tanqueray martini. Girlfriend had a special house cocktail I didn't care for but she soldiered through. Breadsticks were good, not special, but ordering them was a necessity since the deep dish pizzas take 45 minutes. Our Z pizza, when it arrived, was delicious. Hard to think of it as pizza, it's almost like a different dish. We finished three pieces out of eight and were stuffed. We will go back, either with a larger party or else with no dinner plans the next night so we can finish the leftovers.

Absolutely my favorite pizza in Omaha...(Zio's is a close 2nd). Yes folks it is true...almost identical to Giordanos in Chicago. I prefer their Meat Chicago style. I have a hard time deciding what makes this pizza so great. The top notch speciality cheese try source...the sweetness of the tomatoes...or the perfect crust. For those not familiar with this style of pizza...don't worry about "too much tomato". It is just a perfect thin layer at the top. All of the other goodness lives underneath. Service is always welcoming without bring in your face. Pretty good drinks and beer selection. This is a place not to be missed.

I can only speak for the gluten free pizza because this is the only one I have tried here so far. It was by far the best gluten free pizza I have had here in Omaha, hands down! Toppings and cheese were plentiful: absolutely no complaints here! Atmosphere was quite quaint, more upscale than "joint-like". Prices were definitely fair. They also carry their same baked pasta selection in the gluten-free variety, a quinoa salad, and a gluten free kid's option. They have a full bar with a few larger TVs playing NCAA. My friend got the chicago deep dish. She said it was fabulous and flakey. It looked liked the traditional chicago deep dish: pie crust and all, minus the corn meal you sometimes get in chicago. I will be running, not walking, back to this place! Great addition to NW Omaha! If you like chicago deep dish or have gluten free requirements, you should seriously consider a stop here.

I ordered a medium Chicago style pizza to go. The pizza was good and the veggies were very fresh. We only ate half of it and refrigerated the rest for the next day. When we took it out the pizza liner was soggy and became glued to the bottom of the pizza. We were able to scrap some of it off and salvage a slice but it did not taste very good. If you're planning on not eating the whole thing I would recommend getting a small.

Excellent service from super friendly staff. The pizza here is amazing!! We come from the other side of then just to enjoy this delicious pizza. Thanks for bringing the best chicago style pizza to town !

  • Suzy W.

I am so fortunate to have this wonderful pizza place so close to my home! The Chicago style pizza was very delicious! I orders the German style and it was cry unique. Next time I will try the traditional pizza. I got take out so I can't judge service, but the interior was well decorated. Prices were reasonable and they also offer gluten free crust. This is a hidden gem, and I will spread the word so it doesn't remain a secret! I can't wait to go back!

Had this for the third time and while delicious, as usual, I was disappointed in the quantity of the beef topping on my pizza. I only had some on maybe two bites of each piece.

Oh! This is such good Chicago style pizza. If you've been searching for true Chicago style pizza outside of Chicago, you've found it!

  • Carrie H.

Yes it is great pizza - a little low on the toppings but I truly felt like I was in Chicago! HOWEVER a few weeks ago I called to order take out. The first two attempts the phone rang a dozen times or more. No message - no nothing. On the third attempt I was told "We are too busy and we can't take anymore orders" in a very grumpus tone. "Try back in a couple of hours!" and the girl promptly HUNG UP ON ME! Now I love a good pizza but the sour taste of bad service lingers for quite some time ...

    (2)
  • Josh H.

Last night I called to order a pizza to go and the person who answers the phone says to me, "we're not taking to go orders, we're too busy..." And she wasn't very apologetic. Really- too busy to make a pie?

I decided to give this place a try after reading some stellar reviews, but if was incredibly disappointed in my experience. I love pizza. I love deep dish pizza. I subscribe to the "pizza is like sex, even when it's bad it's still pretty good" school of thought, but this place has forced me to reconsider. First, the service was slow and generally not polite. That's usually not a deal breaker for me if the food is good. I will even take some abuse if it means a great meal.Deep dish pizza takes a long time to cook, but if I could fly to Chicago and back in the time it takes to get my food, that's no bueno. After a long wait, the pie arrives and it's undercooked. I point this out to the staff, who derides me for not knowing how deep dish pizza is in the middle. Really? Not my first rodeo cowboy. Two stars feels a bit generous.

I love Chicago style pizza and this place is my favorite in Omaha. My husband and I split a 12 inch deep dish pizza with me ordering the Z and he ordered one of the meat pizzas. You can only eat 2 slices because they are huge and filling. With 4 beers, breadsticks and a 12 inch pizza...our bill was about $50. We had enough left over for lunch the next day. I just put them in a 9x13 pan on 350 and the crust stayed crispy. I wish they had more beers on tap and that the sauce had a little more garlic. Besides those things....we loved the place!

  • Chris T.

Wow....lived in Chicago for 3 years and had not had Chicago style since moving to Omaha and was thoroughly impressed... Easily just as good as Lou's or Pequods... I'm sad that this place will become increasingly more difficult to get pizza in under an hour due to demand. Great pizza!

    (5)
  • Iced T.

Great food! Very unique. Hard to find a place in Omaha with deep dish Chi-town style pizza. They give so much for the price. Be prepared to take some home.

  • Josh R.

French fry appetizer was great, but that's not why we went there. Chicago style pizza took forever, but was barely warm when it got to our table. Sauce was not that great, but weirdest was the crust. I'm pretty sure the crust was completely precooked and they just added filling and warmed the pizza enough to melt the cheese. The crust was the consistency of a thick cracker.

  • Robb T.

We did take out for our dinner on 4/18/2014 and the pizza was just as delicious as take out as it was in the restaurant. Almost as close as Giordano's and definitely fulfills the need for having Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza!!!!

This is true Chicago style pizza in Omaha! Absolutely awesome! Great service! Be advised good pizza takes time especially Chicago style pizza. Closest you'll get to Lou Malnatis pizza straight out of Chicago.

  • Lou M.

Our waitress, very nice & polite. Wish she explained the different ordering options to us initially... We had to ask. Salads were nice, crisp & tasty. I enjoyed the citrus dressing a lot. We got the Home pizza Chicago deep dish style & the Greek Chicago style (sauce on top). Pizza was good.... Not great. I did not like the agreek but I don't like artichokes. I enjoyed the Home pizza. Our only complaint is we were baffled as to how our pizza came out luke warm & not at all hot. We know the deep dish takes 25-40 mins....... No problem. My guess, it was premade earlier & pulled from a fridge to cook???!! It was fully cooked but just not hot or even nearly hot. Taste was good (not great), and we did not complain. We'll give this place another shot sometime & see how it goes. We arrived to eat here at opening (4pm on a Saturday).

We went to the place on a Friday night. It wasn't too busy when we went but there were a lot of staff on hand. Our server was very polite and was prompt with our drink orders. When we ordered our pizza he did let us know that it would be about 30-40 minutes since we ordered a deep dish which we were completely okay with. We got the pizza and it looked very tasty. After cutting into it there was a small pool of tomato water pooling at the bottom of the pizza from the topping. It looked like the pizza wasn't cooked all the way. The pizza was still good but probably could have been cooked a little longer. Will probably go back and try it again.

I've come to Davlo a few times now with my partner. I would give 5 stars but I have a de small things. They need a damn soda machine. Have to wait for the bartender to finish making his drinks to get a diet coke. Somewhat frustrating. Baked pasta is great, but slightly awkward to eat. I know they place the bowl in the oven to melt the cheese, but they out a bowl the same size under it when it's served. This causes the dish to move when you try and stab some delicious pasta. The marinara sauce is great. Good flavor. Makes my stomach happy. Also. Cheese. SO MUCH CHEESE! Service changes every time- that's fine. People are people. But it's never been awful. Owner is very friendly. Setting is nice. Very comfortable and casual. I like that. Give it a shot. I'll keep on coming back. But seriously- soda machine.

This is the closest you will get to Chicago style pizza without having to leave Omaha. Very good food, clean, great atmosphere and reasonable prices. The pizza is legit Chicago style so it takes a while to get to your table. You may want to pre-order if you are bringing small children with you to dinner. If it's just a date night then enjoy two cocktails before dinner instead of one. Cheers!

  • Jake S.

I vote 4.5 stars. Good service and pizza was huge and fresh. I have maybe had one deep dish better but not locally. I also think it is a reasonable price as my wife and I will have three more meals from this beast.

They have awesome food. I love the Chicago style pizza. Their cheesy bacon fires are ridiculous. Only bad thing is sometimes you can not get carry out because they get too busy.

If you want Chicago style pie in Omaha...this is your spot. I have eaten the same pizza twice now (meat eater) and I must say its been consistently delicious both times. The sauce is fresh, the cheese flows and melts in the mouth and the crust is perfection...flaky like a pie should be! I've told all my friends about it. A bit more meat in the pie and they get 5 stars. Matt, Lance,Hunter and crew keep up the great work.

  • Ellen B.

Awesome deep dish pizza. The sauce is what makes it so good. Service was great as well, and we were informed of the 45 minute wait for our pizza. The only thing off is the ambiance of the place. It doesn't seem like a pizza place. With a long wait for pizza, it would be nice to have some games or the trivia boards to keep families entertained. We will definitely return but for take out instead as it doesn't seem to be a place appropriate for children.

Loved it! I've had Lou Malnati's and Giordano's in Chicago and didn't care for it. But my hubby made me try Pizzeria Davlo because of a review he heard on the radio. Soooooooo good!! Better than Chicago style in Chicago! !

    (5)
  • Gail T.

Wow, close your eyes and pretend you are at Giordano's! This is easily the best Chicago-style deep dish pizza that I've had outside of the Windy City, and I lived there for 10 years. It is so worth the wait. The sauce and crust are spot on. Service was friendly and restaurant was clean. We will be back!

If there is one thing in life I love very much, it is pizza. Unfortunately, I couldn't love Pizzeria Davlo. I ordered carry out for my first try and was extremely disappointed. The pie looked great when I got it home and was cooked well. The problem was the taste. I ordered the meat pie and all I could taste was salt. There was So much salt in the sauce it overpowered the sausage, pepperoni and Canadian bacon. I thought it may have been the beef, but when I tasted that by itself, it had no taste. I really, really wanted to like this place as it's less than 1 mile from my house. The pie was so bad I couldn't eat a second slice and ended up throwing the rest away. My wife and daughter couldn't even eat a whole slice. Very disappointing.

Closest thing to authentic Chicago style pizza that I've found in Omaha. Could have been a flakier crust, but this definitely fits the need for a Chicago style pizza in Omaha.

Great Chicago style pizza, which is fairly unique for the Omaha area. Wait time once seated was a bit long, but for a new place, we felt that everyone was giving for their all! We ordered breadsticks and a deep dish... Both were great!

Having relocated back to Omaha after years in Chicago, I'd been dying for TRUE CHICAGO-STYLE STUFFED DEEP DISH locally. (to the point of having frozen pizzas shipped here.) A few have claimed deep-dish in recent years, but Pizzeria Davlo has finally been the only one to truly deliver it. No joke! Their deep dish tastes like anything you could get in Chicago (specifically in the style of a Giordano's style "stuffed" deep dish, vs. a Lou Malnati's or Gino's, for those that have experienced the different types from Chicago). That said, for all the pizza snobs out there, this is a very proud day for Omaha as it gives us all more options beyond the boring chains. Then add to the fact Davlo tries to keep their INGREDIENTS LOCAL & ORGANIC where possible, it's family-owned and operated, and that makes them a very welcome addition to a much needed West Omaha restaurant landscape! So if you crave a true Chicago-style deep dish, you have got to check them out! I don't throw that word around lightly! MANGIA, DAVLO, MANGIA!

Finally. Real Chicago style pizza in Omaha. It is legit. A selection of beers from Chicago adds to the authenticity.

I grew up eating Chicago style pizza in Chicago and Rockford. This is the real deal! The deep dish Chicago is great; the sauce is slightly sweet, which I love, and the crust has a nice buttery taste with nice crunch. The Flying Tomato deep dish has a significant amount of cheese. One can easily go into pizza heaven. If you have to wait, don't worry, it is worth the wait.

I have ordered take out from this establishment 4 times now. The first time was amazing. The chicago style crust was perfect. The order I picked up last night, the crust was literally burned. I ate 1 piece and threw the rest away. I will be getting my pizza at the corporate chain where you can count on what you are getting.

Pizza was average tasting. Deep dish crust was flaky, but the toppings were lukewarm and minimal. After a 60 minute wait in a rather empty restaurant, I expected piping hot pie. Not much on the menu other than pizza. Price for two was $40 with tip. No compelling reason to return.

Very good pizza, as close to Chicago style as I've had in Omaha. Takes about 45 minutes, so order ahead.

Considering you have to wait 45 minutes for a deep dish pizza it should be amazing when it arrives. Our pizza was barely warm. They put the pizza back in the oven and brought it back saying it should be piping hot. They must be using an easy bake oven as the pizza was not much warmer than the first time. Although the staff was okay there was no energy. It was if they were all going through the motions. I won't be going back.

Good pizza. Not great. Very limited on the meat in the pizza but sauce and crust were very good. Charge a little too much for a pizza that they obviously skimp on the meat.

Food was awesome, service was great. We got the flying tomato crust and the pizza is one of the best in Omaha. We were impressed!

Average at best, atmosphere and service was below average. Pizza was ok, nothing special.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
