Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Olive Garden is obviously a chain and almost everyone has been there at some point. I think when you visit a chain like this it's less about reviewing what to expect in the food and more about the service. I think we all know Olive Garden has amazing unlimited salad and breadsticks - can't go wrong with that. But I think the service at this location is great. They are always so accommodating and helpful whether you're waiting for a table or you are seated and asking questions regarding the menu. Our waitress, Lindsey, was very helpful and so accommodating to our big group. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience at the Lakeside Olive Garden.

Not a lot to say since I'm sure everyone's eaten at an Olive Garden before, but I did want to talk about a few things with my experience at this one. Service: Poor. We went on a Saturday at lunch time, so it was pretty busy but we waited at least 10 minutes before anyone talked to us at our table. Our server forgot to bring us the soup we ordered, didn't know the menu very well, and took a very long time to come back to the table for everything. I wasn't expecting stellar service but I at least expected it to be average. Not the case. The entree I ordered didn't come out with my fiancé's. She blamed it on the kitchen but who knows what happened there. I told him to go ahead and eat, but by the time he was almost done it still hadn't come out, so I just told the waitress to forgot it. I had filled up on the free stuff already. The best thing about my experience was the free salad that comes with the meal. The chicken gnocchi soup that I got literally had ONE gnocchi in it. I was disappointed. I asked the server if that was typical and she didn't know what gnocchi was. I don't frequent a lot of big chains anymore, but I should probably lower my standards even more.

Our waitress acted like it was a burden to wait on us. When my daughter asked for more bread sticks the waitress rolled her eyes. The food was good. After just eating the rice/cheese bites, I got really sick to my stomach.

I've always had good meals here. We usually go with lots of other friends. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable with the menu. I try to get something different each visit. The zuppa Toscano always calls to me. If you're looking for a good meal look no further.

Out for our anniversary dinner. We had to go thru 3 glasses of wine to find one without old lipstick on it. Dirty silverware, cold potatoes... Overall so disappointed since we typically luv the food.

It's a chain but how couldn't you love breadsticks, salad, and pasta?! I like the variety of the Tour de Italy with the Fettechini Alfredo, Lasagna, and Chicken Parmesan.

There are so many good Italian restaurants in Omaha why anyone would choose Olive Garden is just beyond me. I know what you're probably thinking right now: 'But Gretchen, how can you be such a hater because when you're there, you're family!?' Actually, this would be true; my mother is a terrible cook so yeah, it's like eating at home. Which is why I prefer to eat elsewhere, capiche? They get a whole two stars, because unlike my mother's cooking, they haven't made me ill yet.

We have been many, many times. We had a great waiter, food was as good as it always is. I really think the waiter makes it either a good experience or a bad experience. Our's was amazing.

The food, service and atmosphere were all acceptable and drinks were refilled promptly. However I have one major problem and it's so bad that I immediately remembered why I didn't want to come back. The chairs at this location are incredibly uncomfortable and dig into your underside because for some unexplainable reason they have a giant hump in the middle of the seat. I'm not sure if this is the result of someone getting cheap or a research study to see how quickly you can make people want to leave. The worst part is, the longer i sat the more pain I continued to experience; which had actually managed to spread to my lower back. So if anyone at Olive Garden reads this, can you please get different chairs?

I wish there were actual pictures of what the food looks like from consumers instead of stock images because they'd be really different. Love that the salad comes free with the takeout but c'mon the takeout quality for the cheese ravioli is no where near what I remember inside. Flavorless and not enough sauce, ick. Do they microwave this stuff? Take your money elsewhere.

We stopped here for dinner. We got the Capallini Pomodora, Shrimp Mezzaluna and the Spicy Shrimp Fritta. The food was good as always, but the service was just so-so. Last time we were here the service was even better than the food. A little bit of a letdown.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Our wait was quoted at 30 mins which turned into 45 minutes which wouldn't have been the end of the world, if their bartenders were in fact bartenders. I order a sidecar, and was immediately told, "...we don't carry that.". I said its a cocktail, not a beer or wine. She said what's in one; I replied cognac, and before I could mention a second ingredient, she replied we don't carry that. I pointed to the bottle of Hennessy, and said that's a cognac! Then I said politely, "I'll just have a water", and the bartender gave me a foul look, like it was my fault she doesn't know how to make a classic drink. I realize it's not too poplar, but she could've been somewhat helpful to the situation opposed to making me feel like I was being an inconvenience, because I wanted a drink with my fiancée and family on a Saturday night. Now on to dinner... Our server was Zach, and we could tell he was busy, but he did the little things to not only help him out, but us as well. When we ordered appetizers, he inquired about ordering the kids meals to help keep then occupied. Which we did, and they came out promptly. My chicken parm was great as always, and Zach did a great job for as busy as he was. I will probs be back, but just stick with water to drink. #getnewbartenderspleaae

It's a chain, get over it. But as locations go this may be the best Olive Garden ever. It's our family celebration place. Never bad food. Never bad service. Many good times. Occasionally we come here just because. It's a bit pricy but well worth it. When we've had wine...it's all done right. It's west Omaha though so Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays expect a wait unless there's a blizzard or you're willing to get there very early or way after the rush. The food may be standard Olive Garden but here we've only had fresh tasting hot foods served. They're generous with the salad and breadsticks. They've never made us feel we had to rush so they could get to the next set of diners. In the winter it's always warm as opposed to some chains that are built poorly with uninsulated windows. Hopefully the changes the national chain is making on the menu, etc.don't mess this place up. When it works...leave it alone. I don't always need something new and my wife and kids love ordering their favorites.

Coming from CA, finding an Olive Garden without an hour wait was a miracle, but I guess a wait in Nebraska is kinda funny. Back to the review. We were seated right away, Our food was hot and done just right. We even had food leftover to take to-go. Our waitress was nice enough to pack us extra bread sticks to-go ( we forgot it on the table :( ). Its a great place to come for lunch.

This location has gone downhill. There was trash all over the floor from the entryway to the dining area and the restaurant had a bad smell. Our waitress took our order and never came back until we waved her down to get our check (the place wasn't that busy). Our table was cluttered with our salad dishes the entire time we at our main course. I'm disappointed and won't go to that location again.

My husband and I have eaten here five times, and the service is very inconsistent. We've had excellent service a few times, but for the most part, the service is mediocre to down-right terrible. My husband is allergic to mushrooms and, even after making our servers aware and ordering food that doesn't even come with mushrooms, he has still managed to get food that has been cross-contaminated. More than one EpiPen has been used here. Both times this has happened, the server and managers have been very unappologetic and unhelpful. I've reached my limit with this Olive Garden and will not be back any time soon. I would highly recommend that anyone with food allergies avoid this particular location.

Service is inconsistent - took 20 minutes just to get our waters during recent visit. Left the menus on our table throughout the meal. Took 15 minutes to get ticket back after providing payment. Other visits have been good when just as busy, but last visit was the worst service.

Great seafood, pregnant wife approved.

The 3 stars comes from the wait time ( I know, I know, it's a Friday night, but waiting an hour makes me impatient. We were also seated by 3 very LOUD tables, making it hard to hear your neighbor. My other factor would be the iffy food: just not enough of the seasoning in all four of the dishes. The portebello ravioli were really good though.
(3)Bethany K.
The service and food is exceptional. I won't say that their food is top of the line; there are limits. At this location they are welcoming and make sure that you have everything you need. You're never waiting long and your glass is always full. I have received the best service of any place at this location and every time it was at this location, nowhere else, no other restaurant. The other location toward midtown Omaha is really terrible. This one rocks. I recommend the Zuppa Toscana Soup.
