I booked marked this place before I got to Nebraska, in hopes that it would be the breakfast place I could go to for a nice nook in the corner, with a book, and rain pouring on the outside...I was not disappointed. NOTE!!!! THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CARDS SO BRING CASH! NOW...BACK TO OUR SPONSOR... Ok, so it wasn't raining and I didn't have a book, but we did get a nook in the corner with the hubsters and a friend. The food is good, something that I can make myself (its breakfast after all) but for a day that you just dont want to cook but you enjoy a quaint little place its nice to sit in a booth, look at all the old school decor (the breakfast paintings are darling) and eat what seems to be a home cooked meal. I admit I will have to go back and try more things, the portions are great though I will give them that. I shall update my post once I have been able to go again.

We went in for brunch on a Monday not very busy and the wait was horribly long! The waitress started off being very friendly and just tanked by the end of the meal. I had the corn beef hash and it was very good but didn't make up for the wait or service. I'm sure I'll be back to give this place another shot someday but probably not anytime soon.

Okay food, diner-waitress service, hipster inexperienced kids in other positions. Not a great place. GF told me there was waste matter from humans on the sink, of a darker color. yuck.

Always have had wonderful and tasty food. Anything you eat will be worth every penny! The star rating I gave was because of one small problem. When we got our coffee the cups were all chipped up. The server immediately replaced them but the restaurant could stand to spend a few dollars on new plates, cups and table cloths. Our server was fantastic. She kept the cups full. Thanks Emma!

I seem to wind up here every time I visit Omaha and I think it has something to do with the hash browns. THESE ARE AWESOME HASH BROWNS. People don't give hash browns enough credit; they can make or break a breakfast. They can make your eggs taste better just by sitting next to them. And, living in NYC, I know a thing or two about horrible hash browns. Do you know what they call hash browns up here? It's a travesty. Big old chunks of soggy, often greasy potato with random peppers and onion and caked-on seasoning and yet somehow they taste like nothing! Like a wet mouthful of sadness. THOSE ARE NOT HASH BROWNS. They do not deserve to be called hash browns in a world where Lisa's Radial Cafe has such glorious hash browns. THIS IS THE SPOT. This is the place that makes me wish hot hash browns could logically be FedExed for a reasonable price. Lisa's should come to my neighborhood and teach these people the way of the hash brown. PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THESE HASH BROWNS. This is the church of hash browns, and all of the hymns are about hash browns. Potato evangelists should be on soapboxes telling people about this place. These hash browns are the Valhalla of the potato world. This is where little potatoes dream of ascending when they have been good and righteous potatoes, and the potato-lords have deemed them worthy. HASH BROWNS. Go early and bring cash. The end.

Just left this little hidden gem. It's a small, popular place which automatically equals a wait, but I sat at the "bar". Bar is in quotations bc you won't find any mimosa or bloody Mary's here. I ordered a coffee while I browsed the menu. I sat next to a nice little old man doing crosswords out of the Sunday paper. I didn't find exactly what I wanted on the menu so I asked the waitress if I could sub my hashbrowns and toast for a piece of the stuffed french toast and she was happy to oblige. So I ended up w/ the breakfast porkchops n' eggs with a side of french toast. The food was DELICIOUS. They stuff the French toast with cream cheese and a "fruit of the day". Today it was chocolate.. Not sure how that's a fruit buuut it was amazing. I was a bit skeptical because I kind of expected the French toast to be super rich, but it was spot on. The chocolate was more Nutella like and it was great. My porkchops were well seasoned. The only weird thing is that the place is CASH ONLY but no worries, if you forget like I did, there's an ATM in the waiting room. ($2 surcharge)

Simple breakfast food done well - although I tried the eggs Benedict special, which may not be as simple. The dish was great, with the surprising addition of lots of dill in the hollandaise, which was good. The home fries were simply hash browns - shredded fried potato with nothing remarkable, but a good portion. Service for us was fine, but the atmosphere was incredibly noisy - we weren't even there during the morning rush. Its hard to mess up breakfast food, but its easy to make it something special, which they failed to do. Its not that I didn't have a great meal - I'm just trying to figure out where all the 5 star ratings came from.

So I've driven past this place many times and wanted to stop, but never had the reason to or was in this area of town. So the other morning after a rather alcohol filled night in Benson, the friends I was with decided we would go here for breakfast. So we hopped in my car and drove on down. It's actually slightly bigger than I thought it would be inside. They do have an ATM which is nice because it's cash only. I wish I knew that before we made our way here. So anyways.....It's decorated pretty old fashioned in my opinion. They still had all their cute Christmas decoartions up including a couple creepy Santa faces. Overall I liked the atmosphere though. The food was very inexpensive for how amazing it was. I ordered the Big Country which came with bacon, eggs, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy. Needless to say it was enough food that I could barely finish it. Bacon was cooked slightly crispy for my taste but was still very good. Hash browns were done perfectly and they gave me a ton of gravy for the biscuits. I will definitely plan on coming here for breakfast again, especially if I had a rough night the day before!

I liked this place. I had the stuffed French toast and it didn't blow me away, but it was good. I think it was the cream cheese. It was blueberry cream cheese that I could imagine coming out of one of those single-serve containers, transporting me back to my college cafeteria days. Which is fair, but kind of off-putting in my French toast. However, the texture was good. Dad's pancake was decent. Mom's was the winner of the day - something with eggs and hash browns. Very yummy and flavorful. The atmosphere was fun and familial and will transport customers back in time. A man came up to my mom saying that his wife admired her scarf, so my mom pulled it off and gave it to him for her. Love that. Five stars for my mom. Three and a half stars for Lisa's.

This is an Omaha staple. It's consistant, everyone is friendly, fast service and always perfect breskfast. Definitely one of my top choices and walking distance from my house. Pearl usually does the counter service and she is the best!

Overhyped. $4.99 for two eggs, hash browns and toast. None of these items tasted that great; not that I was expecting a lot from a basic breakfast. Service so slow. Way too long before we were given a menu, way too long before someone came to take our order and way too long for food to arrive. Companion peeked in the kitchen and food was ready for many tables, but the wait staff is incompetent. In fact, for a table nearby, they brought the kid's pancakes, but not his milk. They never brought his dad's food... the Dad finally waived someone down and told them he wanted his bill so he could go have breakfast somewhere else. Coffee was $1.59. FYI - we were there around 9 am on a Friday.

We went on a Sunday afternoon. It was busy, but we ended up only waiting about 20 minutes to sit down (they originally told us it would be about 45 minutes). It's busy, crowded and loud in there. The food came in a reasonable amount of time. But everything was worth the wait! My oldest son ordered the pancakes which were bigger then his face. My youngest (5 years) got the Mickey Mouse pancakes off the kids menu - it was cute and huge! My hubby also got the pancakes and they were too much for him to eat. I got the corned beef hash and a side of hashbrowns with white gravy. SOOO YUMMY!! Everything was steaming hot, and so good! Cheap too! Under $25 for our whole family to eat! This place is worth the wait!! Make sure and visit the small bakery next door for some yummy treats and the Indian grocery store across the street is a good place to get cheap bulk beans.

It does what it does well! A regular diner sort of menu, and I'd recommend the basic scramble. Seems like the kind of place that Oma-has regular customers for a reason, if you Nebr-asked me! ;D CASH ONLY

  • Marlin E.

This place is awesome! It is a small establishment but they really crank out the food. The portions are huge and delicious. Very reasonably priced. The service is some of the best you will find anywhere. The pancakes are huge and very airey! They are cash only so be prepared. There is an ATM in the restaurant in case you forget. The coffee is very good and just the right temp when served. If you are looking for a neighborhood diner then this is it! It was voted Best Breakfast in Omaha and I will agree! Be sure to check this place out!

Delicious food! Reasonably priced, quick service. We arrived around 10am and it was packed. Fortunately for us, there was one table left! We received beverages immediately and only waited 10 minutes for our food to arrive. There is a lot of hustle and bustle going on in this cafe, so if you're looking for quiet, studying area don't come here during the busy hours. Also, I liked the funky art work on the walls.

Excellent service, really great atmosphere and really a homey feel to this restaurant. We walked in at 1:30 and were greeted and told to seat ourselves. Our waitress came and told us the specials, took our order, and soon after brought us our AMAZING food! My boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs which came with toast and hash browns. I had the stuffed french toast......oh my god! It was all so incredible. Even after 2:00 came (which is their closing time) she told us not to rush and just enjoy the food. Very cheap food for what you get-the portions are great as well. Cash only! But they do have an ATM inside which is very convenient.

I love unique locally-owned cafes like this, but I'm finding myself less and less a fan of Lisa's. I think it's because it has become a "hip" place, and there are often large enough crowds - that are extremely loud - that it's just tough to enjoy eating there. It's crowded, and because there are always people waiting, I feel rushed. I'd rather eat breakfast somewhere I can relax, drink my coffee, and spend some time reading.

  • Lauren R.

Oh Lisa's.....the memories... First off, this place has AMAZING coffee- which they offer freely in the waiting room while you wait for a table. I've taken many people here since I myself was first introduced to Lisa's almost two years ago- and if it wasn't for the 30 min drive from Bellevue, I'd be quite a regular here vice the occasional weekend treat. Anyway- onto the food! They have specials everyday that change, and are usually quite tempting; any and all of their variety of eggs benedict that I've had are scrumptious, so don't miss out on those. Their fattening/over the top pancake or stuffed french toast specials are not to be missed either as a nice treat to yourself. Most of the crowd is varied in age and type of people. You get the hung over Creighton students, the middle class families, the neighborhood hipsters, and the old and crusty loyal customers that have been coming here for who knows how long. This place is cash only, which I don't think they plan on changing anytime soon- but they do have a ATM in the waiting room. TIP: Don't get a seat at the counter, your food will take FOREVER to get and you are the waitress who serves you last priority over her/his tables....at least the two times I took a counter seat vs. just waiting 10 more minutes for a table.

Seriously THE best place to get your grub on for breakfast in Omaha. The prices are amazing the food is even better. Trust me you can't go wrong

An institution in Omaha. The Radial Raft has inspired similar offerings around Omaha for many years. Small place. Only accepts cash. Other than that, amazing food and killer cafe atmosphere. Staff rocks too. Have lots of crayons and coloring books for kids too. Oh and coffee is nothing special but more than decent.

Long wait for our food (I think they forgot to put our order in). Food was blah. Cool that it's been around so long. Cash Only.

It was our first time at the restaurant and our server, who was awesome, recommended we get something for ourselves and something to share. I got the quickie and my husband had biscuits and gravy. We got their special, stuffed french toast with chocolate to share. It was so much food and so delicious. We had no leftovers. I would definitely go back again!

I adore nothing more than unfussy, hole in the wall breakfast places. Everything in Houston is becoming so over the top that going to Radial Cafe while back home in Omaha was a nice, welcome change of pace. The Hubs and I were promptly seated with a smile (folks in the Midwest are so much friendlier than in Houston, I love it!) and I immediately ordered a hot chocolate. It was 84 in Houston and 37 in Omaha, hot chocolate could be ordered without feeling weird. Let me say this, you must order the hot chocolate. It's not watered down and is extremely chocolaty. Heaven. Hubs had some monstrous creation that consisted of bacon, hash browns, eggs, and two biscuits and gravy. He devoured it. Inspired, I ordered the biscuits and gravy as well with one egg on the side (and ended up taking half of the b&g home). So good and hit the spot on a brisk morning. Next time I'm home in Omaha, you can find me here.

As the great Hova once said: "What more can I say?" Fantastic service, pricing and food. A friend took me here on a stayover in Omaha and now I see why he said it's packed to the gills on weekends. Call in late to work and get over there on a weekday. I will be back!

My boyfriend and I can't go anywhere else for breakfast after having Lisa's! Hand's down the BEST place in Omaha for breakfast. For starters, I have never been to another restaurant that has as friendly of waitstaff. The servers genuinely seem to love their jobs. Most importantly....Lisa's has the best food of any breakfast establishment I have ever tried. The biscuits and gravy are homemade, so are the hashbrowns. And the stuffed french toast may just be the best thing I have ever tasted. The best part? It changes daily. So far I've tried berries and cream, banana and cream, pumpkin spice, rasberry white chocolate, and my favorite....coconut cream. YUM!!

  • Stacey P.

Lisa's has been a staple for breakfast for me for years. The grilled chicken skillet is my favorite. If you come on a weekend, expect a 30-60 minute wait as this place remains packed. Weekdays are quieter, but still busy. May not have a wait. Bring cash or use the onsite ATM as this is the only payment they accept.

Classic Mom and Pop breakfast joint. Outstanding food and great prices for the portion size you receive. On Sundays it can get super busy so expect to wait a bit. Service has always been great and they have always done their best to accommodate our group regardless of size. Definitely check this spot out if you are in Omaha.

  • Matthew Z.

Light years ahead of your Village Inns and Denny's, and infinitely more charming. We went in 20 minutes until close on a Sunday, and received prompt service and didn't wait more than 10 minutes after ordering. Our food was exactly what you'd expect from a greasy spoon hole in the wall. Sure, it's not breaking new ground or changing anyone's mind about cuisine, but it's generous and freshly made (except for the OJ and coffee, which were good but not great) and, most importantly, delicious. Our server was an absolute sweetheart. It was super loud and crowded and I couldn't help but smell the neighboring table's food while we were waiting, but for the size and quality of pancakes like those, I'll excuse a lack of intimacy for sure. As close to 5 stars as you can get for a basic brunch at this price point.

  • Tom F.

Absolutely the best breakfast I've had anywhere (Wash DC, Baltimore, Boston, New York). Everything was home style and authentic; including the warm service, home fries, biscuits & gravy, chicken fried steak). A true gem.

  • Rachael N.

3.5 stars. After getting off the plane, my friend brought me to Lisa's Radial Cafe for breakfast. I walked in and said, "cool!" The restaurant is decorated in pictures and old signs. It was pretty full for a Friday morning as we walked into this old diner. We ordered the salmon eggs benedict and the stuffed french toast. The benedict was good- not oily, poached just right. I was pretty impressed. The stuffed french toast was also just right- not too sweet (as I was expecting), and the pineapple stuffed with cream cheese into the french toast was good. Really good. The coffee..was really weak, but I guess that's expected for an old diner. The selections were pretty basic but overall, it's a pretty solid place for breakfast.

  • Dublem G.

Small and very busy....because they are one of the best places ever for breakfast....probably my favorite. I have had many different menu items and can't pick a favorite as they are all sooo good.

    (5)
  • Anna O.

I love this place. My two complaints are that they don't take credit cards and parking can be hard to find. But the staff are incredible, the food is delicious, and the portions are enormous. And they are not too pricey, either. Start taking credit cards and I will love you forever, Lisa's!!! Also, they close kind of early, so get there early.

  • M. C.

I love eating here for Sunday Brunch. i've had both omelets and stuffed french toast. Both were delicious and the service was really good. Waitress read my mind when I paused when asked if i wanted a coffee refill and offered decaf.

  • Julie K.

There's really nothing special going on here folks. The place is charming, but the food is just mediocre. Sorry to say, but I would be just as happy going to a Denny's. Maybe breakfast options in Omaha is really limited...but I really don't understand the 4 start rating. The thing that got on my nerves the most - The hash browns are mushy!!! Personally, I like my hash browns to be kind of crispy on the outside, and still retaining a little softness on the inside. These hash browns were just mushy all around. Also the steak part of steak and eggs must of been the worst cut of meat I've ever seen served at a restaurant. I started out this review with three stars, but docked it down to two remembering the experience there. Sorry Omaha, the food at this place was really bleak.

    (2)
  • Jordan S.

Biscuits and gravy topped with two eggs served over hash browns. Favorite breakfast done quite well. And the service was good too.

    (5)
  • Stefen S.

The food was excellent as always. You can never go wrong with the chicken fried steak, whether smothered in The Raft or in a skillet with fresh vegetables. The only thing better than the food is the service. Commendable is an understatement. Cash only, so bring the green, but it's worth it.

We switched our morning breakfast place to Leo's Diner in Benson and to Louie M's in South O. Faster seating. cheaper food. better food. more food. better staff. Bye Lisas!

  • Julia R.

Love this place. The atmosphere blew me away. Very Bohemian and friendly. The food was the best breakfast since we've moved to Omaha. I couldn't finish my omelet but would have if I could have. My husband and I split a side of a special: cinnamon French toast with fresh maple syrup. To drool for! I have never tasted any French toast that is better and I make cinnamon French toast. . .so now I want their secret. The wait staff was friendly and helpful in explaining the offerings, some of which were new to us as we've recently moved to the midwest. Can't wait to go again, even though parking was a bit difficult. Just remember--cash only.

  • Amy P.

This cafe was simply incredible - delicious food, excellent customer service, and very fast! Breakfast diners can't hold a candle to this cafe, such fresh food. Don't drive past this place, it really hits the spot and is a perfect place to relax with friends and have a great meal.

  • Luke I.

After they seriously messed up poached eggs (like a year ago), I decided to return and give them another shot (not ordering the eggs benedict). My son's pancakes were burnt and his scrambled eggs were under done. How you mess up pancakes and scrambled eggs is way beyond me. I was hoping for a redemption, but was disappointed again. A breakfast place should be able to make breakfast.

4 words: Pork Chops 'n Eggs. Is " 'n " a word? Anyway... Been here a few times when my fiancee and I visit her parents in Council Bluffs. And we always love it. I've had the Pork Chops 'n Eggs every time I go, and they're always perfect. Juicy, tender pork with a nice peppery seasoning over the top. Perfect eggs and even better hash browns. I always luck out too because the little lady will order pancakes or french toast, and she can never finish them. So I get to. And they're always perfectly sweet and savory. The atmosphere here is great. A nice, diner feel, and we always get seated by the window. The waitstaff is prompt and attentive with always the slightest touch of appropriate attitude you love to get at a local diner. And if they do have that slight attitude, they're Midwestern/Plains sensibilities always makes 'em charm-able. Whenever I want a hearty breakfast in Omaha ... this is where I want to go.

    (4)
  • Christina L.

My husband and I love going to Lisa's for brunch. The atmosphere is laid back and cozy, and the wait staff makes you feel most welcome (even 20 min before close). It's worth checking out, especially if you like no fuss, good food.

    (4)
  • Nick F.

Good cheap diner food. I liked the food, the atmosphere and everything. Don't go here if you are high quality and high maintenance. It is a laid back kind of place. Just be careful of parking. It can be tricky sometimes.

  • Chris E.

Have been eating at the Radial Cafe for over 20 years. The interior is still disheveled and old but the food is good and the waitress was friendly. When we checked out, the cashier mentioned that they didn't take credit cards...only cash. She seemed bored and disinterested. Guess she's also the interior decorator. If you like good food served in a place that reminds you of your grandmother's back closet, the Radial is for you.

  • Jason H.

This place always amazes me -- it's run down and dirty, but the food is delicious. It's a greasy spoon type and Lisa is something to be experienced. She is absolutely a hoot guiding people to their seats -- her personality completes the atmosphere of the diner. I usually get the Country Club Omelet, Club, or breakfast skillet. It comes with a hearty supply of hashbrowns and toast. They only take cash, which is a bummer. But there is an ATM in the back if you need it. Come early -- it's really busy on weekends!

    (5)
  • Sarah G.

Lisa's is where we always stock up for breakfast before a hard day of golfing on the weekends. I love the atmosphere and the way they pack people in... makes you feel like a big family. Everyone is always friendly... servers, owners, other customers. It's a feel-good 'american style' breakfast place. Typically I get a breakfast sandwich and load it up with hot sauce. I'll definitely need to try the banana pancakes next time... Worth noting though that even if some of the menu items sound gourmet, Lisa's definitely leans towards the typical greasy spoon diner type of place.

    (4)
  • Kel D.

I'd say 3.5 stars, but round up - it's a fairly standard greasy-spoon-type place, I think. I got the Killer Pancakes, which were, in fact, larger than my head and quite tasty! The waitresses were friendly and were really good about keeping drinks/water/coffee full. The decor here can only be described as bizarre and somewhat loud. It's decent eats for fairly cheap - give it a try!

  • Rachael L.

OK, so this place isn't fancy, and sometimes not even comfortable (I've had them put 5 of us in a 4 person booth), however it is 100% worth it. I always try to support local, which creates a definate bias, but this place's charm makes up for any inadequacies in food. The food is good, sometimes great and special, but always good. I recommend ordering off their special board, because they always have a list of new things to try. I went recently and tried the salmon benedict, I probably won't have it again because the salmon was a bit dry, but the eggs were perfectly runny. Their french toast specials are always good (and full of sugar) and they do listen when you ask for extra crispy hashbrowns. Try it, but don't expect anything fancy and you won't be disappointed.

    (3)
  • Jonathan S.

Great price. Great food. Very small so be prepared to wait a couple of minutes in their waiting room with free coffee.

  • Chris N.

I went here with some hung over compatriots at noon on a Saturday. Unfortunately, I think our waitress had taken her fill of rowdy, hung over boys for the morning and had the clear look of annoyance when she saw our table. Of course, she was nice to me, being that I was of the non-hung over variety. I think the greasy food and the steady flow of coffee did my friends wonders. However, to my tastebuds the food was just mediocre. i had the breakfast skillet with bacon and it definitely needed the help of some hot sauce and salt. Although it's a cash only joint (somewhat of a pain), it was nice that the cashier will calculate your check individually, so you can each pay your fair share. One negative point is that the two person booth near the front of the restaurant makes the patrons sit with their knees in each other's laps. The booth chairs are way too close together.

the food is always good, the host today sucked!

Being a frugal man, this is my husband's favorite breakfast spot due to the reasonable prices and quantity of food. I usually order either the Works or the Fast & Simple. The difference is the addition of hash browns. I suggest the ham with these. My husband is a fan of the breakfast sandwich, but this morning ordered the pancakes. They are light and fluffy and the size of a plate. But the Radial (as the locals call it) is about more than the food, which is somewhat mediocre, the tacky decor (including the Lucille Ball memorabilia), or the fact that it's a cash only joint. They are an icon in the neighborhood, and there's a feeling of comfort and sense of community when you step through their front doors. We will be returning for as long as they are open.

    (4)
  • Kaai L.

If you want a lot of super good food but don't want to pay a lot, go here! We went here for breakfast one day, and everything we ordered was just really tasty. The wait staff are really friendly too! Don't go here if you are in a rush, though, there is a bit of a wait.

  • Heather C.

Bring cash--they don't accept checks OR cards. Lisa's Radial Cafe is one of my favorite spots in Omaha. Quaint real, & delicious. Make sure to try the bacon or waffles because they cook them to perfection!

Hole in the wall breakfasts are my jam. For some crazy reason, I have never been to this place before. My wife and I both got skillets, both fantastic. AND my bacon was crispy.

  • Patrick P.

GREASY GREASY GREASY. And I love it, bizzos. I used to live in Omaha -- but have since moved to Chicago. But EVERY time I come back to the big O, I get my tukus to this place. It is an Omaha tradition. The place is a diner and it smells and feels like one. If you want fancy, then don't go here. I recommend the #6 or the skillets. Yum Yum Yum.

We used to be regulars here but stopped going when our daughter was born. It was just too smokey. Now with the smoking ban, we have been able to return. It's a diner. So I expect diner food. It's good, especially for breakfast. I like the breakfast sandwich. The sausage gravy was a bit disappointing to me--not much sausage. I find the service to be attentive and quick. They also have great patty melts. We haven't tried dinner but I know they do have dinner at least several nights a week. UPDATE: we went in this morning. I was a bit hungover and needed some greasy food to help me out. I had the veggie omelet minus green peppers but added bacon. It was good. I like my hash browns BURNT. I ordered them BURNT. THey were unappetizing white, raw shit. I would have sent them back if I felt better. When we got our bill, i noticed the waitron had wrote "crispy", If I had wanted them "Crispy" I would have ordered them "crispy" and not BURNT. WTF!!! In addition, I had that nasty greasy smell when I left. And they don't have sweet and low!

what a Staple for my Sweets and I to visit when we're in "OMAHA" which is a Far cry from Chitown! it has old world neighborhood charm and I'm happy that my sisters job relocated her to a decent old world neighborhood. We can walk through the gorgeous park across the street from her home to this place. The staff is very friendly. It's not super Classy and Get up but the decor and the ambiance fits right in with the surroundings. You get a huge amount of food for your $$ the delivery is always fast and the staff is always friendly. A must go!

So glad I had trusty Yelp with me on a recent trip to Omaha. Desperately searching for a Sunday Morning Breakfast spot on the 4th of July we came across Lisa's. I called ahead to make sure they were open and boy was I glad when someone picked up the phone. Do go here expecting a pretentious Eggs Benedict with Hollandaise sauce made from freshly squeezed lemons from their courtyard garden. Go here to get an amazing down-home, classic diner breakfast. The staff treated us like family and the place was full of locals (always a good sign). I treated myself to the Radial Raft which consisted of a layer of perfectly cooked hash browns, topped with delicious homemade biscuits, sausage gravy and 2 eggs over-easy on top. AMAZING. Do I want to eat like this all the time? No. Did it hit the spot?Absolutely. It's out of the way, not very noticeable and a little dirty but totally worth it.

So, we needed a place to stop and have breakfast during our 15 hour road trip to Colorado. Omaha worked out to be the best place in terms of selection of restaurants as well as timing. And Lisa's came up in the Yelp search, so we decided to check it out. We arrived just as the place opened and already there was a good amount of people in there. The one waitress seemed a bit overworked and the veggie omelet I ordered arrived lukewarm. A shame too because had it been hot it probably would have been great. But at least the coffee did the trick and we were able to continue forth through the desolate nothingness that is western Nebraska and eastern Colorado. (ugh). Oh the interior is darling, very old and eclectic with an old counter and exposed wood. The window I sat next to had a bullet hole in it which I found to be incredibly amusing - who's doing drive by's in Omaha?

I agree with Dino's review about this being a great place for breakfast. But not with the comments "They are not not fast, or the nicest place." I have always found the service great. But I usually head right for the counter. I recommend the Country Club omelet, a Sunday special. omahacityweekly.com/arti…

I have mixed feelings about this quaint little eatery. On the one hand, it's a beautiful little diner that has a real cozy vibe to it. On the other hand, the service was mediocre at best and our food arrived cold. You might ask yourself, why didn't we send the food back. The answer is because I had just driven 8 hours straight, and I was so hungry that I could have eaten the napkins. All I wanted was some food, coffee, and a three hour nap while C.R. took over the driving. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy. The gravy was tasty and it was served with generous chunks of Sausage. It's too bad that I couldn't get over the fact that it was served cold. Our server did the best that she could. Whom ever did the scheduling should be smacked around for hanging the lone server out to dry. I have no idea if I will ever be back in Omaha again, but if that day comes, I would give Lisa's the benefit of the doubt. Maybe we were there on a bad day.

Three and half might be fair. I'd been up for twenty four hours, had just gotten off a plane, and my stomach was rumbling. I'd heard great things, and I have to say I was a bit disappointed by my experience. I ordered the french toast with fruit compote. The french toast itself was okay, a bit bland, but decent, but the fruit compote was more like raspberry yogurt with large pieces of mango, stuffed in between the slices of french toast, awkwardly. Everyone else seemed satisfied by their breakfast. I also had the hashbrowns, which were perfectly done. Service was stellar, warm, welcoming, efficient. Decor was charming, just what you'd expect (or, rather, what I, foreginer, would expect of an All-American breakfast joint). I'll give this place another chance and try another dish, because there definitely is something heart warming about Lisa's. Prove me wrong, baby!

I love Lisa's! Adorable little hole in the wall local place. Service is always very friendly, but it can get WAY too busy in here and thus very slow. Good place to go for a lazy weekend breakfast with people you love!

So great I ate here TWICE in one weekend. I was visiting from Denver and Lisa's was a very popular breakfast cafe recommendation by a friend. The place is very small and there is a typical minimal wait. There is actually a waiting room, which feels more like a storage room, but it does have a coffee pot and some terrible art work to look at. After the holding room experience, our table was ready. Mix matched tables and chairs in a layout which use to be 2 separate buildings, I'm sure they just opened up a wall to join the two. I ordered the special; "The Radial Cafe Gravy Boat," which sounds as good as it tastes; 2 eggs on a BOAT of gravy over 2 nicely sized biscuits. A definite heart attack healthy meal. A great place to watch others cope with the morning hang over while reading the paper on the weekend. A mixed crowd of young hipsters and retired men, families and locals. The waitresses never stopped, running around and somehow did not knock each other over with arm fulls of orders. Morning two, I ordered the "Vegetarian Omelet" and added ham...I know, that's what the waitress thought too. I had the same experience as Saturday morning, but it was Sunday and it might have been just a little more busy. I thought the Gravy Boat was much better than the omelet.

This is a great greasy spoon to check out for breakfast or lunch. I had a breakfast sandwich which was yummy! Great service, the food came out fast, I'll definitely go again!

Exactly what you should expect. It's not a chain and it's a cool little neighborhood joint. I wouldn't drive accross town for it, but stop in if you happen to be driving by. Not very big, so don't be surprised at the wait on the weekend.

Great little diner with a comfortable cool feel. We were there early Sunday morning and had no trouble getting seated. The food was just what we want in a diner and I thought the coffee was perfect. I don't want to be able to stand a spoon in my morning cup. Cash only, but they have an ATM available.

Pretty average breakfast diner food. Generous portions. Wish it wasn't a cash only deal. Charge me a couple points and take cards please.

  • Alex A.

Can't really beat a good breakfast for two for less than $20. Average greasy spoon menu, but not too greasy. Eggs were cooked well, which surprisingly isn't always the case at a lot of breakfast places. Waitresses were very friendly. The art on the walls is terrible, but otherwise it's cute. A lot of grey hairs eat here; always a good sign. Do it if you're in the area.

We recently moved to Omaha from California and were looking for a close-by, "mom & pop", greasy spoon diner - you know, the kind that all the neighbors know about and it's kind of a dive, but the food is really awesome? Well, this ain't it - we'll have to keep looking. When the gratuitous / quinessential overly pregnant waitress waddled over, my wife ordered the stuffed french toast and I got the hamburger steak and eggs. The hamburger "steak" came with glutinous canned mushroom soup (room temp) poured over it, and the "over medium" eggs were over-cooked frisbees. And mine was the "good" breakfast! My wife took one bite of her french toast, gagged, and ask me to taste them to see if it was just her or if something was really wrong. Yep, confirmed the wife's taste buds were in good working order. The oil / grease / margerine / god-knows-what that they had cooked the french toast with was RANCID! When we called the waitress over, she (a) took it personally and made it clear she didn't appreciate being bothered, and (b) probably couldn't spell rancid, much less know what it meant... Bottom line: we're really not that hard to please. We like down-home meals - that's what we were looking for. But rude waitress and sucky food doesn't do it for us. I can not in good conscience recommend this place to anyone other than the health inspector...

The banana pancakes are fabulous, as are the omelets. Be sure to check the dry erase board for the specials. Beware, Lisa's is cash-only, but they have an ATM in the waiting room. Bring some extra green in case you end up falling in love with any of the local art on the walls.

Just what you want in a lazy weekend breakfast: huge portions, decent prices, friendly service. Come early or late because you'll probably have to wait for a table, especially after Sunday services; once you get in they treat everyone like old friends. I love the banana pancakes but I've done a few omelette's too and there is way more than you can eat in one sitting. A very casual affair, it's definitely come as you are. We bring the kids and they gobble up buttered slices of raisin toast. Yum!

I like this place a lot for its great diner atmosphere. Your typical hole in the wall with plenty of character. There's always plenty of patrons any time of the day. Radial Cafe is perfect for a no fuss breakfast or lunch. All of your staple breakfast items are there. Not to mention the food is really cheap. I get a burger + salad for lunch for under $5.

  • Bryan N.

Best breakfast I've had in Omaha. You will feel right at home in this charming little diner type place, especially if you order up the carnitas skillet. The service is exceptional on every occasion and the wait is not as long as you'd expect for such a reputable eatery. My only qualm is that the coffee is weak, but so it goes for the diner scene.

  • Ryan t.

You need breakfast? Lisa's Radial is your place. Try the Radial Raft, which is basically hash browns, eggs and biscuits swimming in a lake of sausage gravy. I can't emphasize enough how much gravy they must go through here. I saw a tank resembling a water tower nearby, which has to contain the gravy supply. Sometimes you eat at a cafe and the coffee tastes like a hobo urinated into a sock filled with tobacco and coffee grounds, but the coffee here is actually quite good. The only thing keeping Lisa's from being a 5 star experience is the fact that you could drive to Texas for breakfast from Omaha and it would take less time than you typically wait for food here. And no one seems to care that there's no reason it has to take 5 hours to make french toast. If you need to eat before next Tuesday, you might want to think about a different place to eat.

  • Nick B.

YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE RADIAL RAFT!! Its sooo good. So much food. The food here is delicious! It all tastes home made. The hashbrowns are perfect. The portions are so big. You really get value for your dollar here.

I live close to this cafe, but never had a chance to try it until now. Went on a Monday morning; no lines, but pretty full. Service was good, considering there were only 2 servers working. I tried the Pumpkin-stuffed french toast; companion chose the Carnitas scramble. The portions were large; more than enough food. I felt the french toast was a bit disappointing, but edible. The bacon was very hearty. Companion felt that the carnitas meat should have been shredded, not in large cubes. For the price, it was a good meal. I can imagine what it is like during the weekends, though. Must be hectic. Cash only, and challenging parking.

The Radial Cafe is my favorite place for breakfast. They are not not fast, or the nicest place,- but the people and food make up for that. Their Radial breakfast sandwich is EXCELLENT. The food is homemade. It's the perfect breakfast place for people that want to have great food and good conversation. I also had the vegetarian omelet and added turkey. (I know that is dumb, but I am a Nebraska boy and we don;t trust anything without some meat in it). It was EXCELLENT. I love this place. Get there before mass at Cathedral gets out is my only suggestion. They get very busy. If I was on death row and had to pick a last meal. (I hope this never happens) But the Radial Breakfast sandwich would be my tops on my list.

A great diner that is super cheap. The greasy hashbrowns are a favorite of mine. The people are friendly, including the owner, Lisa, who gave us a free slice of cake because the kitchen was backed up with a late rush. Did I mention it is cheap?

Maybe I went in with the wrong expectation here. I was expecting something a bit more like Dixie Quicks than a slightly upscale greasy diner. I can't say that anything was quite wrong here, it just was an A-OK experience, and that's what a three star restaurant is according to Yelp. The menu was pretty basic, but I do give them credit for having multiple veggie options for the omelettes. That would have bumped them up a star, but then they only had american cheese as far as the cheese options went - so back down a star. (They also have peanut butter as an omelette option - interesting! I almost tried it just out of curiosity!) Will I be back? Maybe if I'm ever in the need of a greasy breakfast, but that's usually only after a night out that involved too much drinking, and let's be honest, I'm getting to old (mature? wise?) for many more of those mornings.

Breakfast was good-Lunch was good- They don't seem to mind all my questions or outrageous behavoir (Every time I have been here I have still been drunk form the night before) But they dont take cash - so either cough up the ATM fee or remember to bring that cashmoney with you! I liketh the stuffed frech toast, the veg omelet, the tuna strawberry salad, the skillets aren't too shabby either...their mashed potatoes are unique.

We love to hit this basic little diner for Sunday brunch. It's always busy when we go, but the service is excellent for the venue. It's the place to go for fair-priced breakfast food! Two of us can eat there for a $20 bill (Oh yeah it's cash only, and the pancakes are HUGE!)

  • Brain W.

Great food at this place. I'd say it's a little better than a hole in the wall. The portions are big and the prices are very reasonable. I will definitely stop here again when I'm back in Omaha.

Love the atmosphere. I've only tried one thing on the menu, and it wasn't that great. But I should know better than to order a salmon Eggs Benedict at a greasy spoon. The blueberry pancakes are giant. Stick to the classics and you'll probably enjoy your meal.

I had always heard of the "mythical" Lisa's Radial Cafe, but hadn't had the chance to try it until a few weeks back. I have been hitting my head against the wall since. After all, I have been in Omaha for five years and had yet to try it. I took my parents there on the way out of town and sampled a bit of their dishes and my own. I had the French Toast, that wasn't anything less than amazing. What I was surprised by was the smothered hash browns and the thick cut peppers and onion in them. I am so used to seeing the bagged cut bell peppers and was shocked to see a place that still does it by hand. It was perfectly seasoned without too much butter. My father had a pot roast sandwich with meat that was incredibly tender and a great savory sauce. My absolute favorite was their biscuit. I went with my typical honey and the biscuit seemed to melt in my mouth. Cannot recommend it enough!

Great for breakfast, though the service can be slow, particularly on the weekend when it gets crowded. Here's what to expect: diner food at its best in a diner atmosphere. If you're looking for some gourmet dining event, you've come to the wrong place; however, if you're hung over and craving a big ole American breakfast and can look the other way from the occasional greasy fingerprint on the side of your plate, look no further.

the breakfast sandwich is the best i've had in a very long while. i crave it sometimes. so, on a sunday morning when i don't feel like cooking breakfast, we go to lisa's. just thinking about the buttery toast, melted cheese, fried egg and crispy bacon is making my mouth water. the hash browns are great (i like them well-done) and the coffee hits the spot. they only take cash, so come prepared. the only real complaint i might have about lisa's is that it's often a little chilly inside, so bring a light sweater if you're in short sleeves.

I had brunch here. Food was good and the staff was friendly. It was nothing out of the park, but if you are looking for a good diner experience as opposed to a bad one this is the place to go.

  • Liz C.

The food was really good, and very reasonably priced! Lisa's takes cash only so keep that in mind. There is an ATM accessible for you to get cash if you need it. The only bad thing was that the service was very, very slow. I went on a Monday morning between 8:15-9:40am and it didn't seem that packed. For the first half hour there was only 1-2 people working so the service took a long time. The staff was friendly however!

This is a nice homestyle cafe. Like Leavenworth cafe it is very busy on the weekends. My girlfriend had the chicken fried steak skillet, and it was delicious. The killer pancake is huge, thick, light, fluffy, and amazing. The raft was also very good. I would give it 5 stars but my hashbrowns were under cooked. It's also cash only which I find annoying, but they do have an atm on the premises. We will be back!

I used to live in Omaha and this place is on my go-to list to stop in whenever I visit. This joint is same as is ever was, which means it was awesome. We went on a weekday for a late breakfast. We got two coffees and asked to split The Titanic. Lisa offered to cook the eggs two ways, but me being dumb and not realizing that they would plate the order on two plates declined. In Texas, they would typically cry about this kind of thing or AT LEAST upcharge you. The Titanic was delicious-- the order was split on two plates and we both finished our breakfasts full but not stuffed. The cream gravy, which is practically the state beverage of Texas, was uh-may-zing. The biscuits were good, and the chicken fried steak was legit. All high-praise from a gal who has lived in Texas for 10+ years. Service was super friendly. Love this place.

Over the last 3 years I have had more hungover brunches at Lisa's then I can count. I have yet to leave unhappy even when dealing with long waits, cash only and tight seating arrangements. Great food and service conquer all. I have never had any issues making special requests or substitutions. One of my favorites is adding spinach to the already delicious salmon Benedict. Also white chocolate chips are a must in your blue berry pancakes. A lot of the plates are big enough to share, especially if you get a pancake on the side as they are huge. If you're in a huge hurry you might want to pass during peak hours but overall worth the wait if you have the time.

  • Tracy H.

We went to Lisa's this Saturday morning. It was not as crowded as it could sometimes get and we got seated right away. This place is small, so expect a wait if you have a bigger party. There was a table with people across from us just sitting there yapping even though there food was boxed up for a very long time, even though there was two bigger parties standing outside waiting.. I find that annoying and rude but hey what can you do ! I ordered the chicken fried steak and only because my 6 year old loves it and wanted to share. He ate most of it. I don't find it as good as other places, but not as bad as others either. No "chewy" parts which makes me wonder if they make it themselves or if its a pre frozen. Usually a good real chicken fried will have pieces like that. the hashbrowns I could do without I don't find them good at all. but then again the only hashbrowns at any of these places I like is 11- worth café. so I don't think I can fault Lisa's for my pickiness on that. The gravy on the chicken fried was good so I bet you the biscuits and gravy are great. My hubby guy got the hamburger patty with mushrooms and gravy on it. It was really rich and I didn't like it much. The mushrooms tasted a little off to me and the gravy tasted like it came from a can. My son did order the Magic MIckey pancake and bacon. the pancake was alright and fairly big for a little boy. The bacon was slightly overcooked and his pickiness didn't eat much of it because of how dark it was. I took a bite and I thought it was just alright you can tell its not premium bacon but something along the line of the cheap stuff at the grocery store. Cost us 30 bucks with the tip , which I think is a little high for breakfast but prices have gone up everywhere so its to be expected. I just wish these place stopped charging so much for a kids meal when you have a kid with you and your not an adult ordering off the kids menu. So be it though. Not my first choice of places to go,, maybe not even my second or third. but I am sure we will be back in a few months or so.

I went here for brunch on a Sunday around 11:30. As expected, there was a 40 minute wait. In addition to a bench outside, they have a small, air conditioned waiting room in the back with free coffee and plenty of seating. Even at a peak brunch time (and 100 degree heat outside) we had no problem finding a seat in their waiting room while we waited. When our table was ready the hostess called our name and showed us to a table. The restaurant is small and old-fashioned with simple decor and the service is efficient and friendly. Upon perusing the menu, I didn't find any of the combinations that caught my eye, so I decided to make my own. I ordered one piece of stuffed French toast (strawberry, but I think it changes), a half order of the biscuits and gravy (two biscuits covered in gravy), and a side of hash browns. We waited about 20 minutes for our food (pretty standard). The stuffed French toast was my favorite (my husband tried it and said it was the best French toast he had ever had). It was filled with strawberry cream and topped with whipped cream and powdered sugar. The biscuits and gravy were also very good. The hash browns were just alright. This is a great breakfast spot and the prices are very reasonable. It is pretty far from where we live, so I don't know that I would go back unless I was in the area. It is cash only, but they have an ATM in the waiting room. Parking is street parking and gets crowded on the weekends.

There's nothin better than a home cooked breakfast on a lazy Sunday morning, but breakfast at Lisa's is a close 2nd. As an undergrad at Creighton, I was a frequent flyer here on Sunday mornings after a weekend of general debauchery. There is nothing fancy about Lisa's but that is what makes it so great. The staff is down to earth, friendly and genuine and the food is comfort food and always hits the spot. Although I no longer live in Omaha, was here recently and it was just as good. I got the stuffed French toast and cleaned my plate...that usually doesn't happen to me, so I'll let that speak for itself. Expect to wait on a sunday morning and remember to bring cash (otherwise there is an ATM there) but it is definitely worth it to enjoy breakfast here.

Cash Only. ATM Inside. We were looking for breakfast food just before most places open for lunch and a quick search for a local diner pointed us here. Parking is NOT NEXT DOOR. There's a sign on the door of the restaurant and if I hadn't paid attention we would have been towed. Parking is across the street, not hard to do. Service was very friendly and quick. The environment was quirky and homey. This is definitely someplace you go after a crazy night out or on a near daily basis to get some bacon and eggs before heading off to work. A diverse crowd from all walks of life. I like it. The food was standard breakfast/lunch diner fare, but everything was very nicely done without being greasy, burnt, or over buttered. We didn't order anything beyond eggs, bacon, toast and coffee... so I can't get too detailed about the specialties. Definitely recommended.

Lisa's Radical Cafe was recommended to me by a friend that attended Creighton. You will also see Lisa's as a top search result when you Google 'Best Breakfast in Omaha'. Food: I ordered the Skillet with green peppers, bacon and scrambled eggs. The hash browns are covered in delicious cheese and every bite tastes better than the one before. The Wheat Berry toast was surprisingly good and perfectly buttered. The Skillet is deceiving large and I could only eat about 1/4 of it. I would consider splitting it next time. My dad ordered The Float (I think that is what it is called) and he LOVED it. I managed to steal a bite of the biscuit and it was delicious! The biscuit was perfectly fluffy and felt like I was eating an amazing cloud of breakfast joy. Service: The service was scarce. I couldn't even tell you what our waitress looked like because I barely saw her the entire time. It took awhile to get coffee when we first were seated and even longer to get a waitress to take our order. But, she did bring us the food which was amazing so that kinda made up for it. Atmosphere: It feels like a local breakfast joint that hasn't been updated in years. It was a bit dark inside, but larger than I realized. Location: We were staying in the heart of Omaha so had to drive about 8 minutes to get here. There is street parking only during the week, but we found a spot pretty quick. Overall: I give Lisa's Radical Cafe a low 4. The food was great, but the service and atmosphere were a bit lacking.

Poor Parking, Cash only, long wait on Sundays yet.... the food is AWESOME. It comes out fresh and hot. A lot of great options for breakfast. The ham was top notch and the eggs were perfect. Come early to avoid the church crowd. Some of the dinnerware has been around for quite a while. I would think with their success they would be able to afford new plates and cups. With the good service and mouth-watering food, it's easy to overlook or even forget about the negative things.

Lisa's is a great spot for breakfast. Definitely one of my favorites. I have only visited Lisa's for breakfast, never lunch. They have a standard cafe menu and the usually have a special. I usually get the some type of Eggs Benedict. I must mention that they are a cash only place and they do have an ATM on site.

This is my favorite breakfast in Omaha! Coffee while you wait to be seated( don't let the bros cut in front of you). The skillets and chicken fried steak are supreme! Also, if you bring your grandpa and he requests his toast "burnt", non prob Bob because Lisas will grant that breakfast miracle for you and your family. Yes, they are going to bless you with coffee and water and food mounds. The staff and servers like Pearl are the best in the diner biz- you will be served the essence and it will blissfully radiate in your stomach with many pleasures galore.

It's been a good number of years since I've visited Lisa's radio café. I know that on Sunday mornings and Saturday mornings it can get really busy with brunchers and the benches outside quickly fill up as people wait for seating space. It's also located one block from the Omaha Cathedral so many people eat there after church (check those mass times if you want to avoid a long wait). Additionally it's also a cash only establishment but there is an ATM on site. Both the Decour and the menu are the same as I remember from a few years back. It's definitely has a family owned Café feel, The menu includes all of your diner favorites from chicken fried steak to waffles and pancakes bacon eggs hashbrowns skillets and you name it. I ordered an orange juice and the corn beef hash plate which had eggs corn beef hash and toast. I know I've ordered this before and it was really good but this time I thought the hash was a bit burnt... I didn't want to ask them to take it back so I just ate it but it was disappointing. I also noticed on the menu that there is a worker special on weekdays from 6 to 8 am there are some really great cheap breakfast options. Overall the price here is pretty cheap And they give you a good amount of food... Just kind of botched my order this time around.

Top notch chicken fried steak, breakfast done right in general and a fun, old time diner feel. I LOVE this place and could easily eat here daily if it was closer to home. Only downsides - the weekend waits (though I enjoy hanging out in the "waiting room" with some coffee) and it is cash only (only a problem if you don't know - but the ATM is back in the same area). It can be a bit cramped and noisy but not in an intrusive sort of way. MUST TRY for anyone who can find their way over to Lisa's.

My go-to order: An egg substitute omelette with mushrooms and bacon, substitute Killer Cake for toast for +$1 , hash browns extra crispy, coffee. Under $12 with tax and tip. The ambience is old-school cool and the service is never lacking. The food is always tasty, and I often leave with leftovers. Lisa's serves the thickest, crispiest bacon in town. Coffee refills are always frequent and plentiful, too. If you haven't been to Lisa's, take my word for it: give Lisa's a try. Grab your cash and meet some friends for breakfast or brunch!

I can't believe i had never been here!! I'm not generally a breakfast person but theirs rocked. I don't normally like French toast because I'm not into the egg taste, but Lisa's stuffed French toast is amazing. And for the price, the portions are huge! Will definitely be back

I love this place. My girlfriend and I come here 3-4 days a week before classes or before she goes to work! The employees are so nice and fast and the food is lovely. This place reminds me of homey dives in Texas and that's hard to find. I like being reminded of home when I'm so far away.

This is the kind of place that reminds you it doesn't take much to feel at home, but so few places do it right. This place had the neighborhood vibe, had a great menu, and a fun place to meet up with dear friends. It may have become my new favorite spot in Omaha. Now if it was open late and served beer and there was a basement with darts...I'm dreaming again, my apologies.

Ah, breakfast at the classic American diner! Good food, delicious coffee, excellent service, inexpensive prices, cozy down-home atmosphere... all around great place :-) We had a leisurely late breakfast at Lisa's, and it may have been the my favorite dining experience of all the restaurants I visited in Omaha. I've got a thing for cheap, satisfying greasy spoon diner breakfast-- and Lisa's really hit the spot! After being seated at a small, rickety table (complete with checkered tablecloth) next to the front windows, mugs of piping hot coffee were brought out quickly. Deciding what to order from a menu that seemed to have ALL THE GOOD STUFF was the most difficult part of the morning. I wound up going with the Big Country, which represents most of the basic breakfast groups: bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, biscuits & gravy ($7.99). The only thing missing was a maple syrup delivery device (e.g. waffle or pancakes), but that would have just been going too far for one meal. Next time!

We came here one morning while on vacation in Omaha. The other reviews are spot on- a fun dining place with decent to great food! I had a light breakfast of eggs, toast, bacon, and side of fresh fruit. Pretty good! The bacon was excellent and so was the fruit, and the rest of the meal quite good. My hubby had the kielbasa scramble- his only complaint was that it was just warm, and there was ALOT of cheese. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The decor was a Mom and Pop style theme. They are cash only! There is an ATM in the back if needed though.

If you want good food, come here. If you don't then don't come here. Enjoy! I get the number 2 "The Works". Can't go wrong at all. Also they have really good coffee. Don't be surprised if there is a short wait. You can sit on a bench outside and wait and they will get you when a table is ready. There's also seat yourself available at the counter.

Yes, this is another 5 stars for Lisa's. What more needs to be said. The portions are huge, the atmosphere is diner and friendly. The coffee is not high brow, fair trade, renewable, or sustainable; it's probably brought in weekly by Aramark and that's okay! It's better than okay, sometimes you need diner coffee. It was the perfect complement to the Titanic. Allow me to regale you with my run in with the Titanic (Get it? Snarf!) A layer of hash-browns, then two griddle finished biscuits, a hearty slab of chicken fried steak, covered with two eggs how you like them. I like them over ever so easy, then the whole thing is covered in a white sausage gravy. Sweet merciful mother of the wheezing baby Jesus! The chicken fried steak is so tender you don't need a knife. In fact, the kitchen don't send it out with a serrated knife. Make sure you check the board for specials. Today they offered smothered rib-eye. I saw it go by to someone's table. I wanted it! I couldn't finish what I had in front of me. I needed to lay down or plow the back forty or something. I was fortified for the rest of the day. It's still cash only. Torn.. torn so hard between here and 11-worth cafe. Luckily for me, there don't have to be only one.

Finally made it back...and had one of the best breakfasts ever...dare I say it even rivaled the awesomeness of 11Worth...had something called the Titanic...and it was about as gargantuan as you'd expect...bed of hashbrowns, then biscuits, then chicken fried steak, then 2 eggs, all covered in country gravy...it was as if some wizard cast a spell and created a singularly awesome breakfast...there was nothing to complain about...everything was made perfectly...and as much as I dislike hash browns, they were really good...the coffee was decent but if your one of those hippy dippy coffee snobs than it's not for you...but it suited my pedestrian taste buds...yes it's cash only, but gee whizz they make up for it by being so incredible...I'll absolutely make it back, hopefully sooner rather than later...

We were visiting Omaha for the weekend and wanted a local (non chain) place to eat for breakfast. We came across Lisa's Radial cafe and we were glad we did. Great staff and amazing food. They have huge pancakes and mouse pancakes for the kids. It will be a repeat every time we are in town. Only bad thing is that it's cash only.

My fiancé and I stopped in for breakfast on our way out of town. Totally sweet diner! Service was fast and very friendly. I had the grilled cheese. The bread was toasty and the cheese was cheesy. Just the way I like it! My fiancé had the build your own omelet. She enjoyed it very much. Would totes come back here and watch people and eat grilled cheeses.

This place was packed on a Sunday morning. Cash only. The food was good. Well worth the wait. The pancake I ordered was the best pancake I've ever had and I'm not typically a sweets person. The pancake was the size of my face. My only complaint is about the staff. There was a lot of arguing, complaining, and critiquing going on. I'm a rather observant person but I doubt I'm the only one who noticed this issue with the staff. Also, the place needs a good scrubbing.

The hash browns were amazing! I can confirm their advertised generous portions as well.

HOMESTYLE ON THE CHEAP. Nursing a lovely hangover with friends, I came here on 9 am on a Sunday. There was a wait, but we were offered free coffee. Once we were seated, we knew what we wanted, and it in no time, we were served. The portions are huge! But I guess I was super hungry since I didn't have a doggy bag. They have an extensive selection: omelettes, skillets, Eggs Benedict, french toast, all the fixins' you need...you name it, they got it. And the best part? It won't break the bank. Be sure to beat the church rush. The church is literally down the road. At 9 am on Sunday, we waited for roughly 20 minutes...and it was worth it!

Pros: Super yummy 2 eggs, hasbrowns, waffle, 3 bacon, coffee ($13) Super friendly help. Cons: My counter stool was wobbly and thinly padded/uncomfortable. It's the far left one. While my order was taken 5 min after being seated, the food took 30 minutes to arrive. Granted it was very busy but that's still a long time.

I have been here twice now, and each time the food is great. Breakfast is my favorite, but they really have all the egg/biscuit dishes you could ask for. I had something like eggs on top of biscuits on top of potatoes, I think it was called The Raft. Usually there is a wait, but it's worth it. Also it's super cheap so worth it x2.

Lisa's Radial Cafe has some of the best bacon in the city. The waffle/pancake specials are also extremely tasty. The atmosphere is nice and subtle. The older decor has a charm in itself. The service is extremely friendly as well. I usually get hash browns, eggs, and a few portions of the bacon and every time I go its delicious. The prices are perfect for the portion size you get as well. I will definitely be going back for a good breakfast with amazing bacon.

Lisa's doesn't need yet another Yelp review to confirm its awesomeness, but I'm gonna write one anyway. The chicken fried steak with gravy is DELICIOUS. This is definitely not the chicken fried steak of your youth served in your elementary school cafeteria. The breading on it is thick and crispy, so thick and crispy that the generous portion of gravy poured on top of it doesn't make it go all soft and mushy. I can't wait to go back and try the stuffed French toast, and maybe the Titanic. Two thumbs way up.

I ordered the big country which includes 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns, with a side plate of biscuits & gravy. Portions were generous and the food/service were excellent. Within 10 minutes of ordering, hot plates were there. Definitely one of the best breakfast spots in Omaha. *A-Ron

This place is always full! I had the Salmon Benedict which was OK. I also tried the banana pancakes and they were better I think. Coffee is good but not as strong. Service is good and the place is very quaint. They only take cash so beware, but they do have an ATM in the waiting room.

Ordered breakfast at 11am. Service was outstanding it took about 10 minutes to get my food. The staff including the grumpy looking old dude was nice and made me feel welcomed. The food was good. The hash browns tasted like actual potatos the bacon was cooked perfectly. I really like the informal atmosphere of the place.

5 stars for Lisa's Radial Cafe. Came with a group of 6 - had a bit of a wait, but the waiting area is large and they provide coffee, a nice touch. Everyone in our group was very happy with their meals. We had a variety of things, skillets, omelets, pancakes, waffles, and a salmon Benedict (special). I ordered the veggie skillet, asked for no cheese and our lovely waitress asked if I would like spinach instead, which I agreed to. The food was delicious. Fresh veggies, hash browns cooked perfectly (crispy just how I like them) and eggs cooked just right as well. I'll be back next time I'm in town! It is cash only, but totally worth the ATM fee if you need the one located on site!

I came into Omaha for family business. My sister took me to Lisa's and I was pleasantly surprised. Great food, great service. The quality of food was excellent. I could rase "THE LOVE". great meal and great restaurant. Keep up the good work Mick C - Denver, Colorado

We went late on a weekday morning so there was no wait. You seat your self so we grabbed a table by the door. The food was great and very reasonably priced. We'll go back. Appreciate the reviews from Yelp.

The breakfast/brunch is one of the best in Omaha. I did have a hair in my food, which kinda sucked, but I hope that this was a one off. They should have offered us a free plate but didn't :( Having said that, the servers are nice and there is a little waiting room around the corner where you can get coffee. There is normally a bit of a wait. but it is worth it. The food is awesome, the prices are good and the Elvis pancakes rock.

Great food and service! Packed house on a Tuesday afternoon, but the staff was super friendly and accommodating. I had the chicken fried steak skillet and a pancake on the side. Hashbrowns were nice and crisp and the chicken fried steak had a great taste and was very tender. Portions are huge and the prices make you feel like you're getting a hell of a deal. Will definitely be going back.
