This place has the FRIENDLIEST service...Great Gyros-- and knock you out of your socks baklava!! The owners are the NICEST!! Bend over backwards to please. We ordered the Gyro Platter supreme (YUM) and the regular gyro platter. The salad was very fresh-- best tomatoes--dressing. Roasted potatoes were perfect and loved the gyros-- ate the entire plate!! The owner brought over baklava to try-- OMGosh-- not kidding--I will be dreaming about it tonight....I will definitely be frequenting this place more often... (Have eaten there about 4x now)

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I feel as though Omaha has really good options for Greek and/or mediterranean food. I'm sure we have dined at all of them through the years. Legacy Gyros has good food but they are way overpriced. When I mentioned this to a co-worker this morning, he replied :" my wife and I quit going there because of the prices ". Maybe thats why the place was empty last night. We will take our business elsewhere.

Nice service, yummy gyros. I prefer Legacy Gyros over King Kong any day. The restaurant seems clean, the pitas are nicely toasted and the meat is nicely spiced. I highly recommend!

I got the gyro supreme combo meal. The fries are beer battered and tastes fabulous! The meat was tender and had a good flavor. The veggies were also good and not over cooked. My only real complaint was the processed cheddar cheese on the gyro. I enjoy Mediterranean food for freshness but the cheese sort of spoiled that for me. I'll definitely go back and try more of their food though! Beside the food aspect, the service was friendly and fast. It was slightly expensive, but nowadays that's almost expected.

This place is pretty decent. The good: Meat is well seasoned and very good, the fries are very good (should have gotten greek potatoes but I'll get them next time), and the service is good. The bad: Extra $ for more tzatziki sauce, meat portions are fairly slim compared to the other Greek places in town. Value wise, not great compared to some other greek places. Overall, this place is okay. I would probably go back. Probably not as good as Greek Isles, but it's closer to my house.

Stopped in for lunch after the failed search for thai and sushi that were still open and findable by a numerically challenged me. I love greek food, great for vegetarians in most cases, but I got the veggie gyro with fries, and it was just OK. Food seemed fresh--had green peppers, cabbage, tomato, and mushroom on it.. not really what I think of when I think of greek. NO olives. NO cucumber. Was a bit saddened by that. I just think it could have benefited from having some fresh flavors in there or some more crunch. Did have a smear of hummus on the bottom which wasn't bad. The white sauce (not tzatziki) they gave me was shockingly too strong for me. Heavy on garlic and oregano... and I usually crave garlic! Fries were just standard fries. Staff was nice though :)

Getting a Gyro in west Omaha/Elkorn I think this is the only place. This was our first time there. I usually crave Gyros when I'm super hungry or hung over looking for a little grease. Pros: -Good location out in suburbia near where we live. -Very Fast and hot. I ordered the Kearney Gyro and the regular Gyro with large fries and an xtra tziki sauce. It took maybe 5 minutes. -Good service and polite. -Nobody else was there, didn't have to wait in line like at other places I have been for a Gyro -Portion size I thought was good. Cons: Taste: -Too much garlic in the tziki sauce--not a place for a date if you wanna suck face afterward...Meat was dry. Veggies on the Gyro was dry. Too much cheese on the Kearney Gyro (all I could taste was cheese). All I could taste on the regular Gyro was Oregano...WAY WAY too much oregano and spices which over seasoned both dishes from the meat to the veggies. In addition, I thought the meat lacked organic flavor (only could taste oregano). Was not a good flavorful experience. Gyro meat whether made from pork, lamb, or whatever should be a fatty meat. I felt this was lean which made it drier and less flavorful. When I go to get a Gyro I'm in the mood for greasy food and fully expect the gyro meat to be fatty, tender, and moist with juices and/or grease. Likely won't be back but I encourage the cooks/owners to take a look at their cooking methods to try and combat whatever happened to my food so that others don't experience what I did and so that they continue to gain business. Fresher veggies, maybe baste the meat...something.. I like their location and if the food changes I might try it again someday.

Delicious veggie gyro, pickled cabbage is a nice touch. Beer battered French fries are delicious and the babaganoush is out of this world! Very friendly service, ordered take out and it was brought outside to my car so I could wait with my kids.

MMM Gyros! This place is wonderful! Everything from the customer service, the speed, and best of all - the taste! I've been in here numerous times and I've always seen the same two men working and they are so nice and willing to explain anything, or give opinions. My go to is the chicken gyros, and it is delicious! The sauce is so yummy, the pita bread is always fresh and savory and the meat is tender and juicy! Nothing is greasy too, which I think is a big plus! I recommend also trying the hummus appetizer - always a good choice! Like I mentioned, they have the sweetest men working in there, they make your experience even better!

Love this place! I am in town on business and working out near this place. My colleagues and I popped in one day when we were sick of Dairy Queen, and it is amazing. Good food, great service, awesome Turkish coffee, and we even got free baklava. The owner is super nice and friendly. As someone who lives in Brooklyn and has experienced all sorts of Greek food, I can say this place is pretty legit.

When in the mood for greek food or gyros, this may be the best place in Omaha. Although the location is a little difficult to get to, the restaurant is very nice. Cleanliness is obviously a priority here. Many other Greek places in town could learn a thing or two from the way they operate their business. Friendly staff were more than happy to share with me stories about the effort they go to in order serve the highest quality food possible. For example, I was told that the meat is top grade and slowly roasted to perfection. Apparently many other places use higher percentages of vegetable filler to reduce the cost. Not here, and after I tasted the meat for myself, I think it definitely shows. It tastes great. Their tzatziki (greek gyro sauce) was also quite good. I asked why there was apparently no cucumber in it and was told that they took extra effort to keep a smooth texture and added the cucumber only after it was finely sliced and minced. Different, but good. Lastly, try the baklava. Once again I was sold on this after hearing it is baked fresh daily. I was also told a story about the quality of ingredients used, but can't recall the details accurately enough to post them here. You will have to ask about it yourself when you are ordering. All in all, great place to eat! It is now a part of my weekly routine.

Incredible Greek food and excellent, speedy service. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and will absolutely be eating here again. We had the chicken and regular gyros, in addition to the humus sampler. We'd recommend all of them, especially the humus sampler if you're uninitiated to Greek food.

Had a craving for baklava so Yelped for someplace out in west Omaha - and found this place, so glad we did! They had a couple of dessert options but once we found out the baklava was homemade we had to have had - it was delicious! Turkish style so with pistachios and the owner said it didn't have honey - it did have some sort of sweet glaze but it wasn't as sticky as honey. Now, I love me some baklava so I was hesitant to try it when it was missing that yummy honey flavor but it is now my favorite baklava in town. Can't comment on the rest of the menu, but we will definately be back for more baklava!

We were in the area and I was in the mood for Greek. I talked my family into Legacy Gyros and had my choice of any parking spot on a Wednesday night. As we pulled in, my wife quickly noticed there was nobody in the restaurant except three employees who were all peeking around the counter staring at us in the empty parking lot. My wife and kids saw this as a sign we should pick somewhere else. Somehow, I managed to talk them into going in, but they all warned me if this turned out to be a dud, I would be banned from future eatery picking. The pressure was on. I don't claim to be an expert on Greek food, but if I can't pronounce half the menu and can barely understand the staff's broken English, I consider it "authentic." As an appetizer, the staff member suggested I might like the "FIGH steef ETTA" because it's a little bit spicy. I declined knowing the whole family would complain and ban me from future restaurant selection so we started w/ the more tame hummus sampler plate w/ pita chips. The kids and wife (Oh OK, I may have helped) devoured the chips and hummus and suggested we start eating it at home. Even though I ordered the hummus sampler, the Greek guy brought me out a sample of the suggested spicy hummus, anyway. It was AWESOME! I asked him again what it was called. He said "FIGH steef ETTA." I didn't really understand what he was saying until my wife pointed it out on the menu. It's called "Feisty Feta." My son & I had gyros, my wife went with the veggie gyro and my daughter got the meat sampler platter. No morsel was left on any of our plates. Mine was very good, but think fries should be included as an option. Not a huge portion but I wasn't hungry when we left. My kids loved theirs and subsequently couldn't come to an agreement negotiating the proper number of fries to gyro meat ratio needed to complete a fair trade. After dinner, the staff brought out a complimentary piece of baklava, freshly made. It was hands down, the best baklava I've ever had. I woke up in the middle of the night, kicking myself for not ordering some baklava to take home. A tear may or not have been shed at said moment. In summary, good food, great service. I think the restaurant would be better w/ table cloth and waitstaff instead of ordering at the counter, but we will be back. Bottom line: I'm still allowed to pick restaurants. Watch your back Bob Monkey, I've got you in my sights!

Alexander gyro was ok but not exciting. Greek potatoes were dry and sorta bland. Athenian salad was tasty. Grilled cheese on pita bread was good with two different cheeses, but could have used some zip. The staff was friendly and helpful and Greek :-). Overall a good experience, but I would expect the dishes to have a more intense flavor.

I purchased a Group-On for Legacy Gyros. While the store faces the main road, it was difficult for us to find the location. The restaurant is in a strip mall and feels like it. The place was clean. My husband ordered the chicken gyro and shared that it was not seasoned very well. The meat was rather bland. I ordered the moussaka. It came with Greek potatoes and a nice side salad. The dressing was good and the tskiki sauce was excellent. The fries with the chicken gyro were good too. Overall it was an okay Greek restaurant. I don't think we'll be going back for either dish. However, we would suggest that you eat dinner someplace else and stop by for the baklava. The baklava was out of this world and we would consider going back just for the dessert.

Simply put, this place rocks. The service is excellent; the owner is so kind and will go out of his way to get whatever you need. This is my first time here, and I already felt it would be a disservice not to write a review. Legacy Gyros has a modern, almost "fast food place" kind of feel, but the food is authentic and delicious. The Gyros Supreme are amazing, I loved them with some beer-battered fries (I'm not a huge fan of Greek potatoes). For dessert I had some homemade baklava with Turkish coffee, and neither disappointed. I can't wait to come back!

I was out in this area shopping and I was pleased that this greek-style eatery on my to try list was right down the street. my GPS was saying it was to my "right" but I didn't see anything in the courtyard so I exited to come back around and found it by Sam and Louies closest to the street. there is parking out front. the owner was per the other reviews- fantastic and very kind. this place does ROCK.. first of all delicious baklava! I had tasty red pepper hummus with fresh fried and hot pita chips and a herb marinated and grilled chicken kebab platter with the yummiest pita I've had in years! and a lovely little salad with awesome dressing. all was very tasty and very fresh. I loved the additional salad to top the pita and rice pilaf and was happy that I have such a wonderful option to satisfy my pita rice pilaf and kabob cravings! YUM!

Despite reading some good reviews, I was moderately shocked at how excellent Legacy Gyros actually is. This is a fresh and high-quality take on the "average" gyro-slinging joint, with diverse meals featuring fresh ingredients and personal takes on old favorites, all under the watchful eye of a gregariously friendly owner. For a recent dinner, I went with the Alexander Gyros (which was listed on the menu as the House Special) and also sampled three selections of hummus, along with pita chips. The gyros meat was extremely moist and flavorful, as it were positioned over a bed of tomato sauce mixed with yogurt (which tasted much better than it sounds). The portion of gyro meat was large, and quite frankly just about all I could eat in one sitting. The rice included with the plate was standard fare. The soft pita bread selections also included were good. The three different selections of hummus were non-earth shattering, but all good in there own way. As an appetizer, it was a good mix of dips that could please multiple people at once. It's clear Legacy Gyros is freshly preparing meals, so the wait is perhaps a bit longer than other places with more pre-fixed dishes. As a mom and pop business, the prices are a dollar or two over a chain, but it's a good value and certainly worth the wait.

All I can say is, wow. Dropped off a watch for repair at a nearby store and saw the sign for Legacy Gyro. I was greeted in a very friendly manner, the service was incredibly efficient and, to be honest, the food was the best Greek fare I've had since I lived in New York many years ago. Can't recommend this place enough. I will be back. Often.

Simple and yummy and an awesome price point. Can taste how fresh everything was. I loved the sumac on the onion, very Turkish authentic! But the baklava.... Oh my my!! So sweet and delicious, fresh, perfectly flaky layers - oh wow that was the best. Will bring my husband back for baklava and the Turkish coffee which I don't think anyone else in Omaha makes. Will visit here frequently!

Portion is ample for the money. I had a chicken & beef kebab with desert of baklava. It took awhile to prepared mine since the chicken & the beef needed to be grill. They were good but not something to write home about. If I ever go back here, I will try the gyro for sure!

They obviously don't put the customer first. I walked in at 8:45PM, not realizing they would be closing in 15 minutes. Nicely asked to order a plate of keftedes and the guy (I believe the owner) curtly tells me they can't make it because they're closing soon. lol If I was running a business, I don't care if a customer walks in 1 minute before closing. I would still stay however long I need to and at least get their order in to go.

Always I receive fantastic food, excellent service, and a complete lack of problems when I eat or order takeaway from here. Yes, as some have noted, the food may be a little pricier than other Greek-style eateries; however, it's worth the extra.

The owner works hard, appreciates your input, changes the menu based upon customer suggestion (nice to know he's open-minded - i.e. Kearney Gyros), is friendly, and most importantly produces GOOD FOOD. I can go weeks not coming here (which isn't my preference), and every time my wife and I come back - I'm recognized. I got a haircut and the owner said, "You're not wearing a hat for the first time!" That's great. I appreciate that. So, food quality - quality of service - quality of establishment...This place is a winner. And the baklava...Man, the baklava. Bravo.

Not only is the food great, the service is top notch. Every time we have been in, the owner is there ready to anticipate your needs. Each time we have done carryout he has carried my food to the car for me. The Gyro Supreme is excellent and my kids love the Chicken nuggets.

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.
For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.

Amazing!!! Gyro sandwich was best I have ever had. Hummus was amazing. The food I saw going out when I was waiting for mine looked incredible! Staff was friendly. I have a feeling I will be working my way through their menu. I will definitely be back SOON!!!

Legacy Gyro is awesome! Just got the special for Husker Football Games. The dips are delicious and the gyros are huge!! What a deal!

Lots of flavor, good salad, awesome gyro. The Adana kabob was delicious and spicey. We'll be back.

Best Greek food in town. We eat here regularly. The owner takes an interest in your order and making sure it's correct. We even get it to go and take it home!

They have a feta dip appetizer that is scrumptious. Good gyros, kid friendly. We really like it.

YUM!

Very pleasantly surprised! Food was very tasty and nice size portions. Very nice cashier who was helpful with explaining options. Pricing was very fair. A very nice place for lunch or dinner.

I absolutely love this place, this staff is so friendly. Accommodating to vegan and vegetarian. Best falafel wrap!!! Hummus is amazing! You must try.
