Nothing good nothing bad, 3 stars. Nice waitress and they were open on the 4th of July. The food was pretty boring, no big flavors came through. Menu reminded me of a more modern Village Inn.

This place is absolutely terrible with service to match! Had a chicken sandwich, it was like shoe leather and the piece of chicken didn't even cover the bun. The waitress was very rude. When it was time to pay, asked for the itemized receipt to make sure we received our Veteran discount,,as my friend and I are Veterans. Waitress said she threw it away and would not get one for me. Never will myself or anyone else I know go here again. Remember word of mouth can be hurtful or damaging to your business. Very unpleasant experience for lunch!

Great breakfast place. The service is fast and the restaurant is clean. We had coffee, chocolate milk, omelette, biscuits, waffles and toast. Everything came out fast and tasted great. The place is kid friendly and tables are comfortably spaced. We will be returning often. The food presentation is clean with no bells and whistles. Homemade taste. That can be a plus and a negative based on your point of view of eating outside. The portions are healthy and the cooking is also healthy. For example my omelette had just the right amount of oil and cheese and not dripping.

This place had all the makings of a pretty average breakfast experience, the only thing that was missing was good food... I don't know what it was about it, but I wasn't a big fan of the eggs, bacon, and hash browns I got. You'd think that breakfast would be pretty straight-forward, but I guess it's not. We were in and out pretty fast, and the waitress was alright, but I still don't think I'll be going back.

It was okay. Service was great...food was good just very buttery. I tried the house made bread and it tasted more like flour than anything. It's very thick. Price is good and menu is huge. Only thing we couldn't figure out was why they don't make quiche or crepes. You have the word EGG in your name and a an entire menu of egg items.

Half our order was wrong twice. Didn't eat it. Had to sit and watch our food get cold because we didn't have silverware and couldn't get anyone's attention. Food wasn't great either. This place has really gone downhill. Second bad experience we've had here.

As a recent transplant to Omaha, I had hoped to find a great breakfast place the husband and I could visit weekly. Jimmy's Egg (or at least this location) will not be that place. If you don't want to read the whole thing here is the takeaway: HORRIBLE SERVICE. We headed to Jimmy's Egg on Saturday morning about 9:30. After just a few minutes wait, we were pointed toward a table in the corner. Not walked to a table, pointed toward it. We sat for a few minutes before we were greeted and our drink order was taken. (Our server didn't introduce herself, but our receipt says Karrie.) We sat even longer (at least ten minutes) before the server came back to take our food order. The open structure of this location allowed me to watch her walking back and forth behind the service desk, moving random loaves of bread around on the shelf, chatting with the kitchen staff, etc, while we sat and sat and sat; waiting. I was finally able to make eye contact with her from across the room and the look on her face made it obvious she had forgotten we were there. When our food finally came to the table, (after another fairly significant wait, considering this is breakfast and all we ordered was pancakes with bacon and sausage) it was room temperature rather than hot. By this point we are both beyond annoyed and not in any mood to wait longer for dishes to be re-made. As my husband started to pour the syrup from the plastic bottle on table onto his pancakes, the server asked if we would like warm syrup. Um, obviously. Even Waffle House serves warm syrup. Why in the world isn't that something that would be automatically served with any pancake or waffle order? We said yes and she bustled off to get some. More time passed as we stared at our food waiting for warm syrup. She stopped at two other tables, took a drink order, fussed around in the kitchen some more . . . we decided to eat our cold food without. I finally flagged her down as she walked by and she said that she had forgot and would be right back with the syrup. To her credit, she did come right back with it. When we were finished eating we waited a few minutes for our check, but the server was nowhere to be found. We finally walked up to the register and had someone else find her for us so we could pay. The saddest part is that the terrible service overshadowed the potentially positive attributes of Jimmy's Egg. The location is light and airy and has a cute décor. I imagine the food would be quite good if served warm. The pancakes were large and the bacon was crispy. The proximity to our home is very convenient. However, I'm not inclined to return. Sorry Jimmy.

I wasn't very impressed. I got two eggs sunny side up, with hash browns and biscuits and gravy. It was plenty of food, but each item was just about average. The coffee was pretty good. "Diner" food. Nothing revolting, but nothing to write home about. MEH.

Finally a breakfast place in NW Omaha worth going back to. I have now been here twice for breakfast. Good, fresh food with generous portions and at reasonable prices. The staff is very friendly. It's bustling on the weekends, but don't turn away if there is a line out the front door. It moves fast and you'll get your food before you can get through your first cup of coffee.

Today marks the third time that I tried to dine at Jimmy's Egg. The first two times, the place had a line out the door so I opted to go elsewhere. Fortunately, we got right in today and a busboy seated us immediately. It was a bit hectic probably because it was Christmas Eve. The place looks more like a bistro than a standard run-of-the-mill breakfast chain. It's relatively small and it is modern and it definitely looks new. The place was clean and the staff friendly. They offer pretty standard breakfast fare such as omelette's, pancakes, waffles, etc. My wife ordered a 1/2 stack of the strawberry pancakes. They were huge but came with entirely too much whipped cream and strawberry sauce as well as bananas. Most of the whipped cream, she brushed off to the side. They were plenty big enough and she definitely enjoyed them. I ordered the Southwest Breakfast tacos. It consisted of scrambled eggs, chorizo sausage, potatoes, onions, and cheese in addition to a side of picante sauce. They were delicious. Our meals were just under $6 each so the price is quite reasonable. Next time you're in Northwest Omaha and you're looking for a traditional breakfast, I recommend Jimmy's Egg. When compared to IHOP or Village Inn, it isn't even close.

We sat at the "breakfast bar" facing the kitchen for breakfast recently. We waited approx 20 to be approached by a waitress although several walked right by us in that 20 min. It seems our waitress was outside smoking. Our order was screwed up so the rest our food sat in the window getting cold while they made the potatoes. During the 45-60 min we sat at the bar we constantly watched all the waitresses bus tables by sticking their hands on dirty plates and inside drinking glasses, constantly touching their hair, ours was smoking then they would ALL proceed to grab the breakfast meat, sausages, bacon, etc out of the meat tray near the window and put it on all diners plates WITH THEIR HANDS!!!! I was so disgusted I wanted to get up and leave but my 11 yr old had been so excited to ride his bike up there with mom for breakfast. I wrote to corporate office but they clearly don't care, I never heard back.. Never again!

Upscale coffee shop that serves breakfast and sandwiches. Prices are average and the staff was extremely attentive and polite. I had the club on the Ciabatta roll with seasoned fries while my guest had the ham and cheese sandwich with fruit cup. Quantity was spot on. I was really excited to try Jimmy's Eggs out based on the previous reviews building this place up. But I have be honest with you, I personally thought the food was a little bland and lacked depth. I can say this though, if I were in the local neighborhood and someone wanted to go there to eat, I would give Jimmy's Eggs a second try just to make sure they, or I, weren't just having a bad "food" day.

If there was a half of a star I would add that too! I like Jimmy's egg! I like (ok LOVE) a basic breakfast - eggs, crispy hash browns, bacon and if your lucky - a side of pancakes. And - keep in mind I consider myself a bacon snob - I like good crispy bacon. Jimmy's passed with FLYING colors!!! And the best part - $5.79 for all this breakfast deliciousness. I don't know if I can make myself menu wander, but many of the other dishes whisking past our table looked tasty as well. Weekend mornings are packed and the line can be long and intimidating, but not to worry, it goes pretty quick, and the service has always been fast. The complaint I have heard is that they don't "season "so much - but less salt is great by me and for those who like that for pity sake - that's why its on the table. And so are the menus - and the syrup - and the cream if you need it in your coffee - Jimmy's seems to have thought about ways to simplify and speed up your breakfast service. My only complaint - people in line intimidatingly staring at you wanting to take your table asap. :)

Took my man here on a day off. We didn't have to wait long and we had PLENTY of food between the two of us. We could have fed 3 starving children with the leftovers. He ordered a meat lovers omelet and I got a southwest omelet. He really loved how the omelet was FULL of meat (bacon, sausage, ham). My omelet was veggie, cheesy, spicy, and meaty all around. This is now our go-to quick breakfast place when we are in Omaha.

I was out working one day, and spotted Jimmy's Egg. "What in the world is that?!" I wondered aloud to myself in the car. It wasn't yet time for lunch, but I was compelled to stop and eat anyway, once I drove by and figured out that it was a restaurant. On the sides of the building were the words "breakfast", "burgers", "coffee", "sandwiches," and more. I was sold. I absolutely love breakfast/brunch places, I love coffee, and good burgers are hard to come by, so... In I went. Jimmy's Egg was casual but not cheap-looking, with friendly wait staff. The kitchen is partially open and you can see the cooks plating up food to be delivered to hungry customers. My waitress was not prompt, but another waitress greeted me and sent my waitress to get my coffee order. The coffee was good and hot, served in a normal ceramic white mug, which was charming. My food, though also not prompt, was delicious. It was amazing how much came with it! I ordered a two-egg breakfast. Along with it was my choice of toast, small pancakes, something else I can't remember, or biscuits and gravy. I got the latter. It was normal, but delicious. I also had my choice of fruit, sliced tomatoes, cottage cheese, or something else. (For just being yesterday, you'd think I'd remember better!) I got the sliced tomatoes. They were... Sliced tomatoes on iceberg lettuce. What did you expect? I then added on corned beef hash. THAT was dedishes (delicious...). Everything, including coffee, was less than $7. I left a generous tip because, well, I expected it to cost more! I'm going to have to go back for a more lunch-y meal. All-in-all, the food was super normal, but good. I love the atmosphere. I'm curious to go back and try the fried okra; it seems okra is hard to find done right. I still prefer Le Peep, because they are more unique. However you can't beat the value or the atmosphere here.
