Jimmy John's is the Jimmy Bomb! Even during lunch rush, I have literally walked in, ordered, grabbed my sandwich and walked out in less than 3 minutes. If you're in a rush, this is a great place to grab lunch or dinner. And the delivery is also incredibly fast, like in the days before pizza delivery chains started worrying about the safety of their drivers. My favorite sandwich is the Vito or as I call it the Italian Stallion. By the way, if you go to the counter and ask for an Italian Stallion, I will make NO guarantees about what you will get, how much it will cost, or if there will be chest hair and a track suit involved.

After a night of birthday festivities Jimmy Johns sounded good. I typically go for the tuna because it always hits the spot but this time I went with the #11 country club. Tasty fresh bread is where it's at. Everything seems super fresh and the flavors work well together. The jalapeño chips are good but could use a little more heat with the crunch. The sandwich is big and I left feeling full. They also have day old bread that they sell which is a great idea knowing they have fresh bread daily. I'll be back. Goofy signs on the walls had me laughing too!

I ordered a Tuna and a Vito for delivery, both smelled great, fresh and tasted so well. The thing is, after searching for a decent delivery service around Midtown Crossing for a hour, Jimmy John's is a total surprise, the guy on the phone was patient and said it would take 30 mins, but the cute tall delivery boy showed up in 5 mins! Usually when people want to call a takeout, they're often very hungry, so, a The-Flash-speed delivery + yummy healthy sandwiches + a good service = 5 stars!

For me, JJ easily beats all the other chain sub restaurants in town by a landslide. Their bread is always fresh and their sandwich ingredients are, too, making for overall great subs. I usually opt for veggie subs, which at some places can be pretty lacking, but JJ does a great job with theirs, and I actually look forward to eating it. Another favorite is the JJBLT with added cheese and avocado. Of course, their house chips and chocolate cookies are awesome too and round out the meal. And of course, whether you're dining in, taking out, or getting delivery, they're always freaky fast.

But this location loses stars for the fact that I've been here three times and my order has only been right two of those times. Case No. 1 - I ask for no mayo on the #6 and I get no mayo as well as no guac ... which means I'm left with a pretty dull sandwich. Case No. 2 - I ask for no mayo and lo and behold the bread is covered front to back in mayo. I'm not sure if I have to scream it next time or what, but I feel they should probably spend a little more time listening to my order than worrying about making me "freak" with how fast they are.

Jimmy John's sandwich shop was founded in 1983 by 19-year-old Jimmy John Liautaud in a converted garage in Charleston, Ill. So for a local place it is not. But they do have pretty good sandwiches for a chain place.
