Following our breakfast at Leo's Diner, we headed down the street to Infusion Brewing Company. I'd not been to Benson, NE before, but this area of town was a pleasantly gentrifying area with some interesting-looking shops and newer businesses. Infusion Brewing falls into that latter category as our guide informed us that they had remodeled the space and opened their doors in the fall of 2013. We booked a tour beforehand, and met with the group around noon. The tour was $5, and took 45-60 minutes, but also comes with a token for a pint as well as some samples along the way, so the cost is more than covered in the content received. Infusion Brewing is fairly new on the brewing scene, as evidenced by the story you encounter and some of the things seen on the tour about scale. Our first step down into the brewing operation took us to a storage room with the cooler that is used for the taproom. As Infusion is still in the early stages of being a brewery, all of their beer is kegged for service in the taproom or for keg purchase -- no bottling or canning here. When we looked into the cooler, our guide showed us a feature of the brewery, and something incidental to the name -- the infuser. Though not in-use on our trip, the brewery has a line filter on their keg lines that can be used to infuse a brew with a particular flavor, e.g. fruit flavors or herbal concoctions. The beer passes through the filter, _infusing_ it for the tap. We also had samples of two of their beers at the cooler, a wit and an IPA. Following the tour of the cooler, we looked at the kegging operation -- still a one-man job in which the kegs are cleaned by an industrial cleaner and then filled with a gravity system. Our group of 20 the stepped into the grain storage and milling room where we saw the pallets of roasted barleys that go into the beer and the mill that grinds it and pipes it up one floor to the brew kettles. In the final stage of our tour, we stepped upstairs to see the brewing and lagering tanks, and had samples of another beer that was in fermentation but was not yet in its final form. Following the tour, we adjourned to the taproom where the brewery has 12 regular beers on tap, and a 13th beer in a vintage Frigidaire kegerator. Our tokens were good for a complimentary pint, and flights of 4oz pours of 4 beers are available for $6-9 (depending on the beer choices). I rather enjoyed the Russian Imperial Stout. It is also worthwhile to note that while the taproom is not focused on food, there are snack items on their menu. One that caught my eye were 8oz blocks of cheese for $5 -- the couple next to us got one of those along with some crackers and it looked rather good. This is the second of a series of ~13 reviews about a weekend getaway in Omaha.

Had a pint of the vanilla bean blonde ale and then bought a to go bottle. Every sip of that drink was better than the last. Dessert beer. Put it in your face hole, you won't be disappointed.

This is probably my favorite spot in Benson for a constant array of solid beer. Very low-key, nothing fancy, just a sweet place to drink really good beer. The bartenders are nice and the beer is on-point. Oh, and their beer is really nice too. The current Splish Splash sour cherry wheat is my go to. I like their beer, a lot.
(5)Mychele G.
My husband & I go here often and the reason why is because of the friendly service and great prices. I love the Bier Liquor shots for just $2. Haven't done the tour yet but we have plans too. We also love that they do Bingo and Trivia on select days. We always have fun here and plan to be customers for life. Thanks for all you do Infusion Brewing Co.
(5)Kelly V.
One of the best beers I have ever tasted would be the chocolate hazelnut imperial stout. Wow. Great atmosphere, location and friendly staff. We had a great time at this brewery.
(5)Rachel L.
I loved this brewery. Cool atmosphere, nice tunes in the background, and let's not forget about the beer. I tried every pale ale and ipa they offered and all were solid. I'd love to go back and maybe bring a pizza with me next time.
(5)Steve T.
Now, granted, if your from Las Vegas you are not going to appreciate a place that is not full of flashing lights, empty souls and pretentiousness. If you like good, locally brewed beer and good people in a warm environment then Infusion is your kind of place. Corny jokes are funny, but appreciation of good beer is much more in style, cowboy.
(5)Rachel Y.
Overall pretty good beers. We came here two days in a row; first day amazing service! Bartenders were very nice, helpful, friendly... Second day. The kid behind the bar did really well until we asked for another round and he forgot. Now, things happen. I understand. But to watch him check his phone, get waters for another table, deliver a pizza for another group... Annoying. Finally caught his attention and he blamed being absent minded for the day. Oh well. I still recommend coming here. Really nice clean beers and bar.
(4)Jane M.
We chose 2 Beer Flight that gave us the chance to taste 8 of the selections. We liked them all. Each one had complex individual character. They have a nice selection of cheeses to accompany the beer tasting. A return visit is planned! They also have group tours of the brewery.
(5)Marq M.
Nice space and good beer. The IPA's here have been my favorites. They brew on site and you can sign up for tours, parties in the brewery or to brew with a brew-master (all for a price of course). They have some snack foods here.. Cheese and meat plates, warm nuts, spent grain pizza's and more are available for snacking. Had the spent grain pizza here on a recent visit and it was OK, but personally I would get a pizza from one of the two pizza joints in Benson. Their foods are either local or independent. Have always had good service here. I don't think there is a jukebox, but it might be a good idea. Haven't always had the best music ambiance experience here.

My buddy and I showed up here on a very slow Wednesday night and had the luxury of having this place to ourselves for the bulk of the evening. The decor was cool, the bartender was nice and engaging, but you don't necessarily care about that because it's a brewery; if the beers are delicious then a lot can be forgiven. And they are. I tend to be a pint guy, but knowing that I wouldn't be traveling back through Nebraska in quite awhile forced me into getting a flight. I had: Comet's Revenge, Bedford Park Black IPA, Olson's Amber Ale, Maiden Voyage, and the Butcher Block Brown when all was said and done. The Butcher Block was my favorite but all of the beers were good. When you see me, a hater of coffee, drinking a stout or porter, you know that they brewer is doing something right. They have a good rotation of beer, and the thing that impresses me most is that they're actively involved in developing the brewing community in Omaha. They offer some cool stuff such as the use of their pilot system to brew your own beer, brewery tours, and other random events throughout the year. I'm not crazy about the charge for the brewery tour but I understand that they make up for it in beer. The icing on the top is that this place is owned by beer lovers. And staffed by beer lovers. And patronized by beer lovers. If you like beer, this is home.

There isn't a whole lot of bad stuff I can say about Infusion! We came in on a slow Tuesday evening, and easily found a couple of seats at the bar. The Creighton game was on i the background, but muted, so you could enjoy conversation while keeping up with the score of the game. We tend to be a little more adventurous when it comes to beers, so we opted for flights of the four Ice Box brews. They definitely did not disappoint, each offering their own combination of flavors. These are constantly changing, so I would recommend trying them out when you visit. In terms of food, they don't have a kitchen, but make pizzas in a small oven behind the bar, as well as pretzels. They also have a full selection of deli meats and cheeses to munch on while you are enjoying your beer. We had the pretzels with house-made mustard and they were delicious! Soft, warm, and just a hint of salt. We'll be getting these again in the future. If I had to say one negative thing about Infusion, it was the minor surprise when we got our bill. The menu states that flights of four beers are $6-$8. Ours ended up being $10 each since we got the special Ice Box brews. This is something that could easily be fixed by changing the menu wording. It's honestly nothing that will keep me from coming back! If you find yourself in Benson and looking for a good brew, definitely check out Infusion.

I really like Infusion! They're making awesome beer in one of Omaha's newest bar scenes. I've been to infusion numerous times and have done the tour of their beer making facilities and have brewed beer there once. Infusion used to be a butcher shop waaaaay back in the day. They have done a good job of keeping some of that history alive in the remodel. I also think it's really neat how they reuse the spent grains- some days a farmer picks up the grains to feed her pigs and some days they make pizza crust out of the spent grains. The bar is nice and shares lots of pictures from its past as a butcher shop. The service as a bar was a bit slow last time through, I believe we sat down for 15 minutes without a drink. I hope that doesn't become the norm.

If you have just one brewery to visit in Nebraska, this is the one to go to. Unlike other brew establishments, the beer takes center stage here and is not a mere compliment to some other menu item. If you want food, they do offer pizza, peanuts, beef sticks, summer sausage and cheese and other items, but this place is about beer. All of the beers are made of high quality ingredients as it shows in the taste of every single beer. I recommend trying the icebox series as these small batches go quickly. There are many other beers to choose from and you might want to go with a sampler. They offer Boston rounders as well as the growlers but I recommend getting two rounders, so you can get two different beers to go or go for two growlers! They also have a beer club which will clue you in on specials. They also offer tours of their establishment. They also have daily specials. If you are seeking to try many beers but concerned about cost, you may want to try Monday's when they have happy hour all day. Otherwise, other days of the week, they do have special events and activities such as Bingo.
(5)Patrick W.
I enjoyed the brewery tour and the beer is great. Not only that but the staff was very friendly and the place has a cool feel to it. I will be back.
(5)Nicoletta N.
They have a fairly-extensive beer selection. The service was ok. Not rude, but not outstanding or overly-attentive. I had the vanilla bean blonde, and the boyfriend had the chocolate pistachio milk stout. We both enjoyed both beers. We also tried a flight with the Joel porter, a seasonal pumpkin beer, a pale ale and a hefeweizen. They were all decent, but not outstanding or memorable.
(3)Spencer D.
My wife and I stopped in for their 2 o'clock tour and to have a couple beverages. Once in, the atmosphere is great and the decor is fitting! We did the tour which was fun and it is a small enough tour that it only takes about a half hour and they will let you sample some of the beers that they are working on. After the tour we had our complimentary beer from the tour and some hummus before trying one other beer. Their IPA is very good and their Vanilla Bean is too. Overall it was a great experience and it was awesome sitting at the bar chatting with the head brewer too.
(5)Megan A.
We were here from out of town and we love this place. We left to go check out a few other breweries but ended up coming back to Infusion to finish the night (and we wish we had never left). Really good beer, very well priced, and very friendly staff. We even got treated to the bartender's signature magic trick! Wish we could transport y'all to Chicago, keep up the good work!
(5)Luke C.
Love me some good craft beer and while Omaha isn't completely void of quality breweries it is nice to add another that isn't afraid to try some new things- unlike one big O brewery that consistently churns out the same boring releases year to year. Haven't gotten to your the brewery yet but I've spent quite a bit of time in the bar area and love the atmosphere- when it's not packed that is. I've had at least one bartender that I don't care for otherwise the employees are all super pleasant and ready to talk beer. The brewery is still quite young and in need of working out some kinks and perfecting recipes but almost every beer I've had is very tasty and reasonably priced as are the growlers and Boston rounds. If you're a beer lover (craft beer specifically) then you owe it to yourself to check it out!
(4)Dennis K.
Awsome. Stopped in yesterday with a friend. We each had three beers and all were really damn good. Super clean place and a nice friendly guy behind the bar. Cant wait to go back
(5)Steve S.
My visit to Infusion made me realize that most of the people who work in the Benson are are not very nice people. I guess they see so many people they really do not care how they treat customers Will not go back to that area again Makes the old market look good
(3)Brad W.
I don't give five stars often, but this one definitely deserved it. Beer is the focus here and they have some of the tastiest beers I have ever tried. It was our first Omaha experience having just moved here and it was a great one. We went back to Benson once we moved here with the intention of trying Benson Brewing, but we did what we almost never do--picked what we knew rather than trying something new. We went back when our Wisconsin beer-snob visitors were in town and they were also impressed. They have a ton of different stouts and porters and I would actually recommend all of them. They had a coconut coffee stout in their "Ice Box" that was probably my favorite beer of all time (definitely get it if there is any left). While they aren't really trying to be a food place, they do have pizzas using their spent-grain for the dough and they are actually really good. Personal size for 7 bucks and definitely worth it. They also have a "club" you can join which seems like a great deal...we will be doing it soon!
(5)John R.
As previously noted, they fit very well into the Benson scene. The beers are great and I can't wait for the Ice Box Series beers that were introduced today. I missed the Grand Opening, but will be back soon. Infusion is great for a beer after work or to meet a group later in the evening as Benson starts to get active. The deli food is local good. I do like the option of being able to grab something from Peffers or Salween and then have a couple Infusion beers with that dinner. Go give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
(4)Megan H.
I love Infusion Brewing Company because of their innovation and their dedication to preserving the historical atmosphere of their location and their focus on the local market. You won't find Infusion beers in bottles or cans around Nebraska or anywhere else for that matter because they're dedicated to quality and service out of their Benson location. Their location is a historic building that was once a butcher's shop. It's minimal in its decor but it's part of the old-school charm of the entire operation. Take a $5 tour and learn about brewing at the location and try some of the brews straight off the tap (and enjoy a full beer at the end). I was able to try their Vanilla Bean blonde, Joel Porter, and an IPA during the tour. Afterwards, I had Unclearly Wheat and took home a growler of Butcher Block Brown. I enjoyed trying all of their beers! They also have a bunch of local goods available from spent grain dog biscuits to locally produced cheeses and other foods to try. Stop by, try some unique beers, and be happy that you're able to try something at the heart of its operations. They're making the beer for you to enjoy in their nice historical location.
(5)Daniel K.
Very very good beers! They are adventurous and bold in their beers. Still excel at the basics, but really shine in that funky/exploratory product! A MUST TRY IN OMAHA!

Infusion is quickly becoming one of my favorites in Omaha growing brewery scene. Service, both at the bar and at tables, is always prompt, though not overtly friendly. The vast majority of the beers that I've tried here have been excellent - the Vanilla Bean Blonde, one of their regular beers, is particularly unique and definitely a favorite. They also have a rotating selection of smaller-batch brews, called their Icebox Series, which are always worth a try. I'm not a big IPA person, but the Camaraderie Blood Orange IPA they had awhile ago in their Icebox Series was one of the best beers I'd ever tried. Of course, there's a risk with the limited edition beers, too, as sometimes they are misses, like the Raspberry Saison they tapped at last weekend's Benson Days...no raspberry flavor and an odd aftertaste. I love that they have some food options here - let's face it, you're drinking a bunch of beer, you're eventually going to need some snacks. The bread, meat, and cheese counter is a great way to provide that without having to fret over a kitchen and all that - which lets them focus more on making and serving great beer instead. Very cool that the products are from local-ish farms and bakeries, too. Their spent grain pizzas are a neat option in theory, but seem to be reheated on order from frozen, and it kinda tastes like it. It does get pretty crowded in here, but people are usually friendly about moving chairs and sharing parts of the larger, community tables to accommodate multiple groups. Would love to see some outdoor seating here for the summer!

I've been to Infusion a few times. Today I went in for just a casual Sunday Funday. I had my first beer flight and it was wonderful. Aaron was our bartender and is also the lead brewer, he knows his beer and is an awesome bartender. The flavors and varieties were fanominal. Aaron was very personable and educated us on some of the beers. It's great coming into a place where you feel welcome and it's the little things like that and people like Aaron that will bring us back for more beer and great people.
(5)Will S.
After two years, Infusion is still one of the best local breweries in town and one of my favorite spots to grab an afternoon pint in Omaha. People rave about their vanilla bean blonde. I'm more of a hops-forward guy, so I lean towards their Radial IPA, which is among the best and most consistent IPAs made locally. You can pay to use Infusion's gear to brew your own keg for home. This leads to there always some sort of home brew on tap as well (just look for the fridge). Sometimes these concoctions are great. Sometimes they're too weird for me. But hey, all our tastes vary and Infusion does have something for everyone. Infusion is pretty tiny inside, so it gets busy most nights and definitely on weekends. They also serve locally sourced snack foods and Hawk's pizza (sister business). If you're in search of a local brewery with an ever-changing menu and casual, inviting atmosphere, Infusion fits the bill perfectly.
(4)Scott L.
Best beer in Omaha! Amazing staff - Aaron is the best brewer in the world! Always something new to try! Very very friendly place!!!

Wow. Just wow. I don't give out 5 stars too often but Infusion definitely deserves the 'Kurt Seal of Approval', (the seal looks like a lion tearing its way out of the letter K). My wife and I stopped in after eating at a restaurant just down the street in Benson. My friends from work have all told me, practically begged me, to try Infusion some day; so we went. I should have gotten a flight, but I asked for samples for three of their beers, Vanilla Bean Blonde, Splish Splash Tart Cherry Wheat, and the D.R. Brown Ale. All three were out of this world. Easily the best beer that I have ever had. My wife got a sample, then a glass, of their South Pacific Pineapple I.P.A, which was awesome as well. I decided to get a glass of the Vanilla Bean Blonde. It is just........amazing. It tastes like cream soda with some hops; so good. The prices were on the spot too. For craft beer, $4.50 for a glass isn't too bad at all. Some of their beers are a tad more expensive but worth it. They have a limited food menu but my wife and I didn't partake. While we were sitting at the bar, the lovely bartenders, (super nice and knowledgeable of their beers), gave us some pretzels to eat. The atmosphere was really fun and inviting and everyone that we talked to and overheard, were very nice and down to earth. Since they brew their own beers, you can take a tour of their brewery, which my wife and I regrettably didn't have time for. You can also buy glass growlers of their beers to take home, which I will do next time. The sad part was, that my wife and I couldn't stay long so we each just had one glass and had to leave. Overall, this is the best beer that I've ever had and I have told at least a dozen people about my wonderful experience since going their this past weekend. Will I go back, HECK YEAH I will! I am already planning to take my brother-in-law their real soon. How can I not go back to one of a very select few places that receives the ultra-rare 'Kurt Seal of Approval'?
(5)Emily H.
The fusion of flavors with beer makes this place exceptional. Experimental beers make my heart go pitter-pat. We were obviously out-of-towners but were warmly welcomed and introduced to the beer family. More importantly, how can you dislike a beer bar that embraces their 4 legged friends????
(5)Niccole M.
Saturday night, just me and my friend, crusing the area like we own it. Stumbled into Infusion and right off the bat it seemed....sterile (probably the white subway tile) and loud. Loud in a sense that the music was ridiculously loud and there are no sound tiles to absorb it. There were four people at the bar and three at a table. We took a seat at the bar and both bartenders seemed not thrilled to come to our end of the bar. They followed up the indifference by taking shots with their friends at the bar. Probably not a pit stop that we won't stop again for.
(2)Rusty S.
Straight-up tap room with some straight-up quality brews. Sweet! I visited Infusion Brewing Company with a group of locals who are regular customers at this establishment. I can certainly see why they keep coming back here: Infusion makes some damn good beer and serves them up in a beautifully restored (nearly) century-old building. My favorite of the beers I tried here was probably the Joel Porter-- but that may have been because it was cold outside and I was in the mood for a hearty, dark winter warmer. Honestly, I wasn't anything that I tried here that I didn't like :-) Note that this place can get really busy, making it difficult to find a place to sit down and get down to business (the business of drinking beer, that is!)-- and all of the hard surfaces can make for an uncomfortably LOUD experience. Oh well, just get another beer and it'll be all good...
(4)Megan B.
First time here. Great beer, cocktails and service! Had the Fruit Stand - excellent! Definitely coming back
(5)Samantha A.
I absolutely LOVE this place. We came here for the first time this past Tuesday with a Groupon. The Groupon included 2 tours and a 64 oz growler for $14. Such a great deal and totally worth it! We really loved the tour! They offer tours on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The man who led our tour was funny and very informative. We tried three beers on the tour. We tried their imperial IPA, a pale ale, and the beginnings of a vanilla coffee bean stout that they will start to offer in January. All of them were delicious, which is saying something because I typically like dark beers. At the end of the tour, you also get a free beer of your choosing! We did the vanilla bean beer, which wasn't my favorite, but still pretty good. According to the tour guide, they change their beers quite frequently. I'm looking forward to trying their blood orange this winter when it is back on tap. In addition to great beers, they have incredible prices. A 64 oz growler without the Groupon is $14. You can refill the growler for $10 later on, which is pretty impressive for a 64 oz growler. We had pretzels with our beer, which were pretty good. I believe they also offer sandwiches and pizza, but I can't comment on them since we did not order them. I would highly recommend joining their club. It is only $30 for life. It includes a free beer when you join and a free beer on your birthday. You also get $2 off every growler refill. Finally, you get invited to their annual pig roast. In addition to great beer, I really like their space. The owner spent a lot of time and effort rehabbing the place so that it is as close as possible to the original butcher shop that occupied the space in the early 1900s. In sum, cool space and great, affordable beer.
(5)Matthew C.
We were here visiting family and every-time we travel we make it a point to hit 3-4 local breweries. We were the only customers in the place, the Brewmaster, Owner, and Bartender were there and made no effort to come over and say hello and were not very friendly at all. We tried several different beers and I have to say the wheat (not sure if was wheat, wit, or heffe) had an extremely strong corn taste to it, corn is usually used to change the color and body in the beer but the flavor of corn was overwhelming in this wheat beer. Now I understand we are in Nebraska and corn is a-plenty. Amber, Pale and Blonde also had a corn taste to them too...hmmmm

I love this local brewery in the heart of Benson. Not being from Omaha, I was not sure what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The Benson area of Omaha is very cool, with restaurants, bars, and other retailers, but the star is the infusion Brewing Company. I booked the $5 tour (they are offered Saturday and Tuesday) in advance and was happy that I did. We toured the historical building and saw their very neat tap system (which allows them to infuse their beers with other flavors directly from the keg to the tap), and tasted several beers along the way. I have been on many brewery tours, but the laid back attitude and hands-on experience made this a memorable one. After the tour, you get a beer of your choice (they had 10-12 available). We sat in the tap room, which maintains the class of the historic building while having modern touches that make it warm and inviting. The bartenders were friendly and helpful, and I very much liked the Russian Imperial Stout (a little raisin, a little nutty) and the Inline Saison (very light, with hints of banana). You can sample them all with their make-your-own flights. They also sell pizza, cheese and crackers and such. We did not partake, since we had just eaten at the diner down the street, but I would highly recommend the affordable and tasty-looking cheese and crackers.

Infusion is a welcome addition to the Benson beer corridor, with 10+ infusion brews available in the tasting room, brewery tours on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and the option to brew your own recipe. Infusion is a happening little spot. FYI though, when things get going - and I've yet to be in Infusion when things weren't - it gets pretty loud. Like 80-90 dBA loud. (I may or may not have actually measured that).. but if I did, that just goes to show how perceptively loud it was. (what?) I SAID... IT GETS LOUD IN THERE. (who?) You might find yourself having a similar conversation some evening at Infusion. Even before you get into your second tasting flight. So don't come here if you're hoping for an intimate exchange... or a full meal because it's first bites only folks. But do come here if you're on the prowl for the following: A. micro-brew sampling. Really, this is also the best reason to visit Infusion. Try a few and find out what you like. Or just keep trying over and over. (My favorite is the unclearly wheat.) B. snacks including mini pizzas, hummus, cheese and crackers and soft Bavarian pretzels. Just make sure you're not too hungry because there can be a bit of a wait for the pizzas. C. creative concoctions like Bier Likor or ice cream beer floats (with hometown favorite Ted & Wally's ice cream).
(4)Sheri T.
This is a fantastic neighborhood brewery. But tonight, the server was so rude, I dont know if I will be back. I bought cheese and sausage and was charged for crackers. Nickle and dime me already.
(1)Mike S.
Not my first time in the other day, but it was the first time I have waited like a salivating fiend. Boom!, the doors open and I am the first one in. I know I am the first one in and I am OK that it seems dead. I was allowed to park my bike inside which was great due to my lack of a lock. It also was some kind of 'puppy dog' day where they let you bring in your pooch (who gets a spent grain house made treat, huh?) and that is a huge plus. Animal frindly restaurants and Veggie options should be aplenty these days. I had a few beers here on this visit. The most remarkable one was the Hoptasm Double IPA. 125 IBU, 8.7%.. So fantastic. I can't believe how smooth this is. The Radial IPA is also right up there at 98 IBUs and is by far my staple drink. Just the right amount of West coast flavor for me in the Midwest. I finished with the Red x IPA and harkened back to my early days at Upstream when I would add the Capitol to the Firehouse and call it good. It was good and I can't wait to come back
