Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Just had lunch at the GP & I must say it was very, very, good & very plentiful & only $5.95!! I had the Szechuan Pork & although it was listed as Hot I found it quite mild but I think for most it might be considered hot. When I cook & make my food very, very HOT! BTW. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated & super clean. see PIX, & what I really like is, that they play Chinese music in the BG that I find also a nice touch. Service was also 5 star! No wonder this Chinese restaurant was rated the BEST in the whole of Nebraska!!

Not impressed. Egg flower soup was orange with specks of yellow egg. Didn't like the egg rolls and the fried rice that came with the orange chicken was just rice fried up. No peas, carrot sets in it. You have to order a special kind of fried rice. But here's the BIG reason I will never go back. After almost finishing my meal something bit me on the upper thigh. It was very painful. I jumped up threw my money on table and dashed to my car. While driving the thing kept biting me. Had about 6 bites on me. Took medicine, used ice pack and was in pain most of the night. Never did find the culprit. It must have been in the booth where I was sitting. My name is Bettie and I just moved to Omaha from California.

Maybe I'm picky, but I've had better Chinese food. It was okay it just didn't wow me. I had Mongolian Beef and Fried Dumplings. The Mongolian beef could have had more flavor and my fried dumplings could have been crispier. My boyfriend had the Shrimp Fried Rice, he was not that impressed either.

This is the only chinese restaurant I eat at. Really good food, good service. Their take-out has good portions. I believe they have the best crab rangoons!!!
(5)Erin N.
We had the sweet and sour chicken with white rice, an order of shrimp fried rice and also an order of orange chicken. The shrimp fried rice and sweet sour chicken were pretty good but it left me feeling sick afterwards and couldn't eat much of it before I felt nauseous. I had a feeling it might be the seafood. I brought left over sweet and sour chicken and the white rice to work the next day for lunch and it made me sick feeling all over. The nausea went away after a couple hours but it was unpleasant and I won't return because of this. Also in my opinion the sweet and sour sauce tastes good with the chicken and rice but on its own it tastes oddly like blood?? The Orange chicken was horrible in my opinion. I'm sorry! It just lacked flavor and what flavor there was, was just not good to me. The chicken was also soaked in the sauce and got soggy when we got it home. So all in all I gave 3 stars because 2 out of 3 dishes were good but it made me feel sick. Please note that I am not claiming food poisoning or anything of that sort it just made me feel nauseous for a short period of time and I'm not sure why. Fast service and nice people but unfortunately I will not return.

i drove up last Saturday because i'd heard they were good and also that they had ample but nicely priced fresh food for lunch ( budget) .. Mongolian beef was fantastic. will come back for that alone. its an wonderful restaurant to eat in. very comfortable and everybody was so kind. apparently take out is a usual thing for them that i was asked eat in or order out.. Order out. thank you.. they also have decent parking. i found them with GPS help and i saved it as a favorite. the Best of Omaha people were correct again!

Golden Palace is a very solid Chinese spot that won't disappoint. At first I didn't believe it mainly because it was so close to my house. It was hard to believe one of the better Chinese spots in Omaha was just right down the street. We do takeout a lot and always see others in and out with the same idea. Everything is all reasonably priced. I have had many menu options including the Mongolian Beef, Pork Fried Rice, Triple Delight, and the Chicken Egg Foo Yong. Crab Rangoon is knocked out of the park and one is included with every meal. I tend to eat a lot and can get more than one meal out of the chef specials. That's a huge plus. Brat

I cannot rave enough about this little gem. Affordable prices, busy all of the time and an absolute favorite of all my friends. There isn't a thing we've tried on their menu that hasn't been excellent, and the service is gracious and fast. They do an epic take-out business, too! You should see the traffic of locals picking up dinner or lunch! Love this place so much. CLEAN. Even the bathrooms!

Dined here 3/18 for dinner. The food was good, restaurant very busy, service was okay. Food: Ordered Orange Beef (pictured here) special that came with soup. I chose hot and sour, which was good - tofu diced small enough to be distributed well throughout the soup. My entree was tasty, plentiful and hot, I believe the beef was coated in lotus flour and then fried, yielding a thinner, superior coating. Service: Waitresses were running from table Ito table trying to keep up, the service was a bit lacking, here's three examples: (1) Wasn't asked if I wanted to order a drink [would have], (2) had to flag down a different waitress to request a knife, (3) no one checked in with me throughout dinner to see how I was doing. Would have given 4.5 or 5 stars with better service. The food was quite good, however, so I will try again another day.

Golden palace is by far one of the nice Chinese restaurants in Omaha. I've been here a few times and it never disappoints! I'm a picky eater and stay with the same few meals at every restaurant. Their menu is about the same as any Chinese place. I really like their sesame chicken here it's fantastic! Their crab Rangoon is also perfect! I'm not a big crab lover so when I can taste the crab I don't crab Rangoon as much. Here there is the perfect amount of everything in the crab Rangoon. I like their egg drop soup too. My mom however has tried the hot and sour soup and the egg drop and both she thought were kind of bland. I always add soy sauce to my egg drop soup and she does not so that might be the difference why I like mine and she does not. The service here is fantastic! I would take a sip out of my water glass and there would be the lady refilling my glass! They are very speedy too you do not wait long for your order. The inside is kept very nice and looks clean. The only thing is that the booth I sat in tonight seemed like it had been around for a while. It sank way down and it also felt like I could just slide right off my seat because it was tipped up slightly. The seat isn't anything that's a big deal but it wouldn't hurt to replace the seats in the future.

Having just recently moved back to Omaha I was looking for a reasonably priced Chinese restaraunt with fast yet good takeout service. Since I only did takeout from here I can't rate their entire dining experience, but the food was ready quickly and was hot, fresh and reasonably priced. I got their Mongolian Beef, Sesame Chicken and an order of 6 crab Rangoon for $23. The portions were large enough that I got 2 meals out of it. Will definitely be a repeat customer!
(4)Kelly C.
From the rave reviews, I was expecting something really special. We called in an order and were told 10 minutes. Arrived and there were two others waiting. We watched 11 orders come in and go out. 35 minutes later, we got our food. Mostly cold. While we had been greeted and order verified upon arrival, I guess it just sat there while we sat there until someone decided to tell us it was ready. No apology. Thank you for waiting was all. So the Cantonese noodles were literally congealed and cold when we got home. They tasted mostly of soy. In fact, that was the main seasoning in all three dishes. Also one order was wrong. Although our order was verified twice. Still wrong. And it was the sea food dish we did not get when one of us doesn't eat meat. The dumplings were dense and flavorless. No layers of green onion or sherry again only soy.On the plus side, the restaurant is very clean. The shrimp toast, even cold, was delicious. Plump creamy yumminess. The hot and sour soup was excellent. Layers of flavor and heat. In three entrees there was a lot of meat but only 6 shrimp total. They were nice big shrimp though but overlooked. The pancakes for the pork were cold, cracked and useless. So would I go back? Maybe, the shrimp toast and soup were good enough to think maybe it was an off night. But definitely different entrees and I wouldn't call it in. I would eat in. If not for the ridiculous wait I would have given three stars for average but to send yor customer out with a box of what you know is cold food is not acceptable.
(2)Todd G.
Ordered takeout. Said it would take 15 minutes. Was ready in 10. Staff actually went through the whole bag to make sure order was correct. Delicious and affordable. What more can you ask for?
(5)Miggy C.
I was looking for a new chinese food place in my area, and I happen to stumble into this restaurant on the east side of the Bakers on 132nd & Maple. I went there on my own the first time and I was impressed by the service and I totally wasnt expecting how nice it was inside (cause it looks like an office building on the outside)....I brought my girlfriend the next few times and she loved it. The prices are reasonable and everything we have had to eat has been fantastic. I recommend Golden Palace to anyone who loves chinese food like I do.
(5)Doug S.
I had the Cantonese pan fried noodles and they were very good. Take out was fast, the order was right, portions were large, and the food was hot, what else do you want? It's great to have another Asian option when Gold Mountain can't answer their phone. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
(4)Paul H.
Solid. They don't know how to make anything terrible. I've eaten most of the menu and it is all good.
(5)William G.
Golden Palace is quality standard Chinese American fare. Good, quality food. I've been going here for almost 10 years now. The owners take pride in their business and consequently all the food is up to a consistent standard. Never have I had a bad meal here. The only thing is I wish their "spicy" meals were a little more spicy. I generally add sriracha. Great establishment!!
(5)Mindy W.
AMAZING. I've been eating here for more than 15 years. Everything on their menu is delicious and affordable. The staff is outstanding. The restaurant is clean and well maintained.
(5)Adrian S.
This is the best Chinese food in Omaha. Love their carry out. Call in, 10 minutes later delicious food is ready! Been coming here for almost 20 years. Great food!!
(5)Micki S.
Golden Palace has been my favorite Chinese place for 15 years. the Crab Rangoon and hot sour soup are the real measurement for me, and they've had it just right for all these years. easily one of the most consistent restaurants, regardless of cuisine style.
(5)Charlie M.
They do almost everything right. For some reason you can't actually get Chinese food with flavor in this town. One of our dishes, the Szechuan pork, was pretty good. The sesame chicken had the typical Omaha issues.
(4)Todd C.
Best tasting Chinese food I have found in Omaha! My whole family loves this place. It is great tasting, fast, inexpensive, and they give you plenty for leftovers. You won't be dissapointed.
(5)Cory B.
Hands down the best Chinese restaurant in Omaha. Reasonably priced, consistent, and delicious.
(5)Amy F.
I visited with 7 others. The food was hot and fresh, the service was great and the bill wasn't crazy expensive. Over all we will be going back! Great experience!
(5)Sara P.
This is a great place!! The peanut butter chicken is amazing! We have got takeout and it was ready in 15 minutes. We have also eaten in the restaurant. The food was fresh and the staff was really friendly.
(4)Laura E.
By far my favorite Chinese place in Omaha. We mostly get take out but it is a good place to eat in as well. Classic atmosphere. Consistently good food. Try the Szechuan beef or the moo shu pork.
(5)Karen K.
This is the only Chinese place we eat at. The dining room is actually clean, and I mean clean. The food is fantastic and the service is top notch. This place deserves 10 stars!
(5)Anne G.
Absolutely the best Chinese restaurant in Omaha. The food is awesome and service is quick. Best of all, the prices are reasonable!
(5)Jamie L.
Favorite Chinese in Omaha, and carryout is FAST! Recommend the Cantonese pan fried noodles and the hot and sour soup.
(5)Eduardo V.
just very good chinese food
(5)Melissa Z.
Sweet & Sour chicken, YUM! That's all I can say about that. I don't really order anything else. If you have small children in need of sippy cups, be sure to bring them yourself. They don't have kids cups and they don't have lids for their glasses, so they will bring your toddler a fat glass of milk that is just asking to be spilled. They are friendly toward kids but the place itself isn't really geared toward small children.
(4)Melissa W.
This is the best Chinese food I've found in Omaha. The dishes are wonderful and the service is fantastic every time. We do pick up orders are least once a month and they always quick and fresh when we get there. Our favorites dishes are: Egg drop soup... it has corn in it which is great. Crab rangoons... best I've ever had! Triple delight Beef broccoli Shrimp fried rice Really we have never been disappointed with anything we're order here. Very good place!
(5)Susan S.
This is the best menu Chinese restaurant in Omaha, in my opinion. It is a beautiful restaurant inside. Outside looks pretty plain as it is behind Bakers. The hot and sour soup is great, so is the Kung Pao beef and chicken and also the Plum chicken, and hot and sour shrimp, which are more like prawns. This place is just consistently delicious!
(5)Randall S.
I ate here during last winter (2009-2010) and found the service to be outstanding..I don't remember exactly what I ordered, but it was good! I'll be back!
(5)Jennifer K.
I love this place. The staff are so efficient and friendly, the food is consistently delicious, and it's very cute inside as well. My husband and I go here all the time for carryout. This is my favorite Chinese place in Omaha. Even though it shares a name with the Golden Place Express location on Dodge (which is also pretty good,) the 132nd and Maple one is so much better. Highly recommend!
(5)Anna L.
I'm not a fan of Chinese food. Not at all. But I've already been here 3 times and wouldn't mind going here again. The place has decent food and service at a pretty low price.
(4)Douglas L.
The best chinese I have had in omaha. Mu shu pork was excellent. Very good quality pork. Hot and sour soup was very good. Egg rolls and crab Rangoon were fresh cooked and the sweet sour sauce on the sweet and sour pork was homemade. Hot and sour chicken was well made though not our favorite. Restaurant is clean and well lit, and the service was excellent.
(5)Seth R.
We came here to try something new. We will definitely be back. I had the Szechuan Chicken which was excellent, my better half ordered Orange Chicken which was absolutely delicious! The orange chicken is not the super-sweet candy-like bright orange, it's the real thing (and if you aren't looking you may eat into the orange rind.). I will definitely get the orange chicken again. We also had crab rangoons and egg-rolls; I'd recommend the crab rangoons. Both of these dishes were marked with the spicy pepper, but we found it could have been spicier to fit our tastes. Next time we go I'm going to ask them to add some more heat. In the end we were very satisfied and definitely want to come back and try their hot and sour soup and other stuff on the chef's specials menu which sounded great.
(4)Kira B.
Best Chinese food in a 30 mine radius. I'm always going to come back to this place for some good quality food at a low price. The chicken fried rice is excellent, and the hot an sour soup isn't quite that spicy but it hits the spot.
(5)Katie W.
Golden Palace has been my favorite Chinese restaurant since I can remember. I've been living in AZ for the past 4 years and cannot find a place there that comes close in quality. Egg rolls and crab rangoon ar delicious! For entrees we typically get Mongolian or Princess Beef and Peanut Butter, Kung Pao or Sesame Chicken which are all tasty! The service is always friendly and quick. We will continue to make this a top place to visit whenever we are in town!
(5)Mailman Dan M.
This is my first time here. I will be coming back, even though it is halfway across town. Take a simply good Chinese restaurant and turn everything up a couple notches. The food is really good. The egg rolls are crispy, not chewy or greasy like so many other places. They are obviously not using the same old pre-made product you find elsewhere. The Shrimp toast is amazing! Full of sweet tasty shrimp. Service is fantastic: Polite and very attentive. The atmosphere is very pleasant. Clean, pretty, and peaceful. The music helps mask conversation, but does not discourage it. White linen table cloths and real glass water glasses. While the food/service is quick, this is a place you see as a restaurant, not a fast food joint.

The only thing is I wish their "spicy" meals were a little more spicy. I generally add sriracha. Great establishment!!

AMAZING. I've been eating here for more than 15 years. Everything on their menu is delicious and affordable. The staff is outstanding. The restaurant is clean and well maintained.

This is the best Chinese food in Omaha. Love their carry out. Call in, 10 minutes later delicious food is ready! Been coming here for almost 20 years. Great food!!

Golden Palace has been my favorite Chinese place for 15 years. the Crab Rangoon and hot sour soup are the real measurement for me, and they've had it just right for all these years. easily one of the most consistent restaurants, regardless of cuisine style.

They do almost everything right. For some reason you can't actually get Chinese food with flavor in this town. One of our dishes, the Szechuan pork, was pretty good. The sesame chicken had the typical Omaha issues.

Best tasting Chinese food I have found in Omaha! My whole family loves this place. It is great tasting, fast, inexpensive, and they give you plenty for leftovers. You won't be dissapointed.

Hands down the best Chinese restaurant in Omaha. Reasonably priced, consistent, and delicious.

I visited with 7 others. The food was hot and fresh, the service was great and the bill wasn't crazy expensive. Over all we will be going back! Great experience!

Favorite Chinese in Omaha, and carryout is FAST! Recommend the Cantonese pan fried noodles and the hot and sour soup.

I ate here during last winter (2009-2010) and found the service to be outstanding..I don't remember exactly what I ordered, but it was good! I'll be back!

By far my favorite Chinese place in Omaha. We mostly get take out but it is a good place to eat in as well. Classic atmosphere. Consistently good food. Try the Szechuan beef or the moo shu pork.

This is the only Chinese place we eat at. The dining room is actually clean, and I mean clean. The food is fantastic and the service is top notch. This place deserves 10 stars!
