Well I was in the area so I had to try it. I'd like to be more generous than 3 stars but 12 bucks for a burger and iced tea???? If it had been even as good as Louie M's, Dinkers, or Stella's I would have felt less ripped off. The fact is it wasn't as good, wasn't even close! If I go back (doubtful at this point) I'll try something else.

I love a place where you can see the plates of food steaming as they are placed on the table in front of you! Decent, HOT food, good service, nice, cozy atmosphere, with a small outdoor patio. Something fun and casual to try, off the beaten path. My group shared the spicy cheese dip. The color and texture freaked me out at first, but once I got past that, I chowed down. I had the crab cake sandwich and onion rings for dinner. The crab cake crumbled apart pretty easily, but it was quite crabby and delicious, and served with a spicy aioli. The rings were also served with their own special sauce - onion mustard or something. Yum! I would definitely go back!

Overpriced for what it is. Good Pork Tenderloin sandwich and Reuben, horrible fries. Limp, greasy, and overdone. It's trying to be upscale, but failing. They could use more than one server on a Saturday night too. They took our menus before we ordered and never gave us the specials or anything else either. Took forever to get the check, mostly due to the one server issue mentioned above.

Well...I don't think it was as good as some of the reviews. It was decent enough where I might try again if I had a groupon. I had the pork sandwich and the battered 'shrooms...they were both hot and fresh. The lemonade was pretty good though.

Overall good experience. Basically really good bar food. High quality ingredients. However, the dessert was definitely microwaved. We will probably be back, but the cash only is somewhat annoying.

I have yet to eat at Finicky Franks and not walk away happy. Food is always delicious, service is great. Only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because they no longer accept credit cards (they do have an ATM inside). Since they stopped taking cards, we have been unable to bring business guests there which is a real disappointment.

Very enjoyable evening at Finicky Franks. Love the fries -- best in town. Had an excellent beef salad for main dish. My girlfriend had crab cake sandwich, also enjoyed. French bread to accompany was just right. Relaxed atmosphere. The anti-chain. Despite far North location, easy access off 30th St. and I-680. My only suggested upgrade would be stocking the bar -- Bombay Sapphire was not available for martini, went with Amsterdam instead, not as good.

Wow - talk about over hyped and underwhelmed. I swear alot of these reviews must be friends/family. I keep reading "best reuben" in town, on Yelp and on their own menu. Well let me tell you this is FAR from the best reuben in town. Now if you want to talk about the best "lunch meat" style reuben in town - maybe. This reuben is not even in the top three. The staff was very friendly and the place is very nice.

Great good! Anything featured is going to be great. The burgers and onion rings are fresh and great quality. Only downside is they do not like credit cards - prevents me from taking people there for work lunches.

Purely based off the name, i expected Finick Franks to be a chain-like restaurant with neon signs, obnoxious musak, and polo shirt-wearing servers. However my experience at finicky franks was wonderful. Cute little restaurant with salads, sandwiches, and pizza. They also have a small selection of beer and wine as well. You really wouldn't expect this type of restaurant to be right next to a convenience store and a pet washing station.

Thanks to Yelpers I had the Reuben. You have to ask for it as it is not on the menu. It was good. The bread was right but maybe a bit crisper would have made it perfect. The key to the Reuben is the kraut and sauce and it was excellent. Not quite as good as M's Pub's Reuben but in the ballpark. My daughter had the hamburger and she liked it. Her fries weren't nearly as good my onion rings. They were noticeably soggy. She wanted the French snails but they were out of the creatures. We had shrimp and it was good but overpriced for the quantity. We should have had the crab cakes. The patio was pleasant and unlike the nearby Alpine Inn there were no small animals mooching food. Slightly pricey, but I am an inflation hawk.

I kinda hate this star rating - a 3 being "A-OK" even though 3 out of 5 stars seems like "average." Anyway, I recently met a friend for lunch at FF's. She had the chicken sandwich & fries, and I had the hamburger & onion rings. She had a soda & I had water. She loved her meal, and my hamburger was pretty danged good. Really good. But for $39 for 2 people it better have been. I'll go again.

We flew all the way from California just to try this place! (Kind of) My family was out here last month for my graduation, and this spot was highly recommended by one of the locals when I asked for some food recommendations the first night we landed. The person who told us about this place spoke very highly of their Saturday Special -- the fried chicken dinner. He said the chicken is fresh, the potatoes melt in your mouth, the biscuits freshly basked, the home recipe strawberry preserves, coupled with cream of corn which tastes like candy, all ending with homemade vanilla bean ice cream. With a description like this??? Totally sold. My family drove by the next day and found the spot next door to a gas station with car/pet wash. Interesting. When we walked in the door, we were warmly greeted by the staff and immediately brought to a table. We selected the dinner which had came so highly recommended, and boy did it not disappoint. Everything was spot on delicious. It is probably a good thing we aren't locals. This would definitely be a go to if we were!

Finicky Frank's is a local gem and I'm so glad it's in my neighborhood! The owners make us feel like welcome family every time we visit. The food is fresh and put together exceptionally. I like that I can count on my regular favorites, but thrilled that every day has a new special based on the chef's whim. I've never been disappointed with the daily special or soup. Love the artistic atmosphere and the blues and jazz music that accompany each visit. Best Reuben sandwich in the US, seriously.

We live close by and have been coming here since they opened at this location. Finicky Franks is tucked away in a small strip mall of sorts, just off I-680 by the Mormon bridge, just north of Florence. It is tucked in next to a gas station and car wash, but don't let that dissuade you. They have a nice small outdoor patio, and the inside has been expanded with a nice bar as the focal point, and tables around. It is still a small place, but feels way more upscale than what it may seem from the outside. Their food is fresh, and their soups probably the strongest item on the menu. The chef makes them all from scratch, and they change often. My daughter normally gets their pizza, which is fresh made and usually pretty good. We go light on the sauce for her, as it has a lot of garlic. We have had a variety of the appetizers, and most have been solid. My go to entree is the steak sandwich, as I love the 'steak sauce' that comes with it. I have gotten it as take out, where they forgot the sauce, and have been devastated!! I also like the Chicken Knuckle sandwich, and their burger is pretty good as well. A nice place in Florence to grab a bite to eat. They have gone to cash only, so bring along some, or else you get hit with the ATM fee for the ATM inside. On a 'green' note, they donate all of their used cooking oil to the Omaha Biofuel CO-OP, which turns it into Bio-Diesel, pretty cool!

Every time I go to Finicky Franks, I wonder why I waited so long between visits. We started with the onion rings, which were fabulous. Some of the best I've ever had. The truffle fries are also very good. For my main course, I had the crab cake sandwich, lots of crab meat and very tasty. I also had a bite of the pasta. The sauce was great and it was full of veggies (you get to pick three), just wonderful. I definitely won't let so much time pass before our next visit.

Great local eating location. The Rubin is fantastic. The corn beef was perfect. Suggest the onion rings are great!

I have been here a couple of times, and the food is always fantastic. The steak sandwich and chicken knuckle sandwich are my favorite. It is a little overpriced for what you get, but still worth going to every once in a while. It would be nice if the waiter knew the beers on tap, he couldn't tell me about the selection, so I just ordered a water instead.

First off, the parking stinks. The inside is nice. The bar is center stage surounded by tables and sort of a wall length booth. Overall and clean looking place. As for the food, I had a grilled chicken and artichoke sandwich (wanted the reuben, but they don't have real horseradish). The sandwich was pretty darn good! Full of flavor. The Oktoberfest beer was also good. You see the rings on others plates and they look so good, you just have to get them. Then they come out and I was suprised to bite into one and they are not crispy? They are kinda soft, it's strange. They do come with the good dipping sauce and I ate them all, so, not bad. Just not great, and wierd. I would go back if in the area or friends going, but I won't make any special trips just to go there. Prices are on the high side but the food is not "bar food", it's actually worth the money.

I almost forgot about Finicky Franks, when I was pleasantly reminded of how great this place is on a work luncheon. A group of 10 was a little difficult to accommodate during lunch, but I was glad they were extremely busy for a Wednesday. People just kept coming in the whole time we were there. It's obvious why they needed to expand. The majority of the group ordered burgers, the reuben was a huge hit amongst the gals too. I had the crab cake sandwich, it was very good although a little too salty. I do like how they cook it, more of a griddle searing, than breadcrumb coated. The onion rings are phenomenal. The best in the city in my opinion. Fries were great too, and everything came out fresh and piping hot. I also liked the small menu, it allows them to focus on perfecting a few choice things. On a side note, they appeared to have all New Belgium brews on tap, even the seasonals and the Lips of Faith series! Not that I could partake, but I will be back in the near future for a proper night out! Reunited, and it tastes so good Finicky Franks.

A beautiful pearl hidden in a rather plain oyster of a strip mall north of Florence. You have to seek this out, but it's so worth the effort! Once inside [or outside in an intimate little outdoor oasis], prepare to be surprised. The menu full of eclectic choices. Daily specials frequently feature local foods prepared in unique styles. Great salads with freshly prepared dressings. Pizzas even, with unique crusts and fresh ingredients. Did I mention the smoked meats? The best reuben on the planet? The stunning service? Next time you're looking for locally owned and lovingly prepared cooking, look no further.

First off, they've completely I renovated...double the size, but still charmingly cozy. Second, the salads were remarkable. I had the coconut chicken salad with the lime and mustard dressing. It was the best salad I've had in a long time. Grilled salmon also won over the table...delicious and cooked just right. The dessert cake was the best though...graham crust, chocolate ganache, layer of mousse, topped with hazelnut whipped cream. We sat in silence for several minutes simply salvo ring the flavor. The waitress was attentive, but not obtrusive, and the ambience perfect. Oh yeah, and the curry fries for an app...amazing.

My wife and I have been anxious to try this restaurant as the reviews were good and the concept for the restaurant seemed to go along with our idea of a nice meal out. This past Saturday we finally had the chance to go for dinner. First off, the website states that dinner service starts at 5:30. It actually opens at 5 PM. Once we were seated and had ordered drinks the waitress came and told us about the specials for the evening. One was a salmon dish the other was something she called "beef medallions". She admitted that she hadn't yet learned the specials and didn't have her cheat sheet with her. My wife asked what kind of beef and her answer was "I think it's tenderloin". I was skeptical for $18 but she went ahead and ordered it. I ordered the "breaded pork tenderloin" sandwich. We started with an order of breaded mushrooms. The dinner salad with my meal was on the smallish side and not much besides lettuce. The thousand island dressing was very good, tangy and obviously house made. My wife got the French Onion soup which was somewhat odd compared to what we are used to in this dish. Instead of the traditional piece of crusty bread sitting atop the soup there were rye croutons mixed throughout. The cheese was also mixed into the soup and not browned on top. It was also exceedingly thick, no broth really, and an overwhelming taste of red wine. The mushrooms were very good, breaded in a coarse cracker crumb and served with house made ranch. Huge quantity and tasty. My wife's beef came with smashed potatoes which were very heavily seasoned with garlic and what appeared to be a cream gravy of some sort. There was a side of spinach which was supposed to be in a basalmic reduction but instead was swimming in the gravy. Did not expect cream gravy with this dish, somehow very out of place. The exotic mushrooms were well cooked and very flavorful. The beef was rare (the server failed to ask how my wife would like it cooked). It certainly was not tenderloin but more likely eye of round or sirloin. i heard the server tell another patron that it was something called a "cafe steak" which I am not familiar with. As for my "pork tenderloin", well it was not tenderloin but pork loin. It was juicy and well seasoned but not the most tender pork I have eaten. It really bugs me when restaurants falsely name a dish for something that is not there. The brioche bun was lightly toasted and and accompaniments were fine. The side of onion rings that came with my sandwich were dry and had patches of raw flour on them. I realize that these are somehow baked instead of deep fried but they were definitely lacking in texture and flavor. We really wanted to like this place and I would probably come back to try a burger and the house made fries but would steer clear of anything out of the ordinary. I suspect that Finicky Frank would be turning over in his grave if he knew some of the shortcuts happening here.

I'm looknig for a Frank Romano who used to live in West Palm Beach and sang in a band called Spellbound and then went into the restaurant business. Anyone know this person? I hear he lives in Omaha.

Reallly good burgers, sandwiches & pizzas. (My kids didn't appreciate the home-made, not perfectly round pizzas). We've always done take out and haven't eaten in the cozy (and I mean COZY) dining area. On take out orders they wait until you get there before they cook the fries to make sure you get the best experience. The manager gave my son a complimentary root beer while we waited. I highly recommend if you are looking for some good eats out of the ordinary, and off the beaten path.

When we walked in the door we were pretty pleased with what we found. It seemed like a nice quaint little restaurant. There were 10 tables and the 2 waitresses couldn't seem to stay on top of it. It was Friday night (pasta night) apparently. Well I figure since they have a night devoted to pasta that it must be good. I ordered angel hair with marinara, meatballs and shrimp. when the bowl of pasta was set in front of me I was instantly disappointed. The meat balls looked and tasted worse than plain beef. They were pre cooked and frozen. They were warmed up and put on in my pasta. They were also pretty hard so they must have been frozen for a while. Wish the negative had ended there. They would have been better off putting Ragu sauce on the pasta than their marinara. The shrimp was grilled to a hard and rubbery consistency. It's been 3 days since and I'm still upset with how much I had to pay for that meal. 2 bowls of the worst pasta I've ever had, 1 beer, 1 water = $42 OUTRAGEOUS. Probably will never go back. Some of their other food may be good but come on.. pasta is hard to screw up and they did.

We love this place. Recently remodeled and expanded into adjoining space. Prices are reasonable. Food is delicious . Large portions. Warm bread. Friday nights are pasta nights and you have your choice of three different sauces and meats. Onion rings are homemade. Her Italian wedding soup is out of this world. Diffently a place to eat and right off the interstate and north 30th street.

So happy to have a decent restaurant move into Ponca Hills, North Omaha. I've eaten at Franks many times now, including lots of take out. The chef's specialty is soup and I've had many delicious ones, especially the chili. I have high marks for most everything on the menu, unless it's fried. For some reason the smell of grease has been overwhelming inside the restaurant at times, your clothes can smell when you leave, and you might need to air out your house if you get take out. No idea why it's so bad..maybe because it's such a small place. But it's a fun, quirky, place off the beaten path and that's usually what I like best.

Loved this restaurant! My clients wanted me to take them to eat here and I am glad I did. Homemade everything! Amazing baked onion rings made from scratch. My enchilada was stuffed full of mushrooms and spinach with delicious spices. It could have used even more shrimp but still oh so good. I will be back soon -- with the family -- and other clients!
