Their half-price deal on burgers, on Monday Night, makes fantastic burgers into an absolutely awesome deal! Atmosphere and ambiance? Mehh... But those burgers are amazing. Get one!

WE at Dannys take pride in serving Omaha for 33 years we cook everything fresh to order.Finest quality product you can buy just thought you should know. The reason we did not have Packers on last year is our satilite system went down.It is fixed now and we will have Packers on.9 out of 10 know we do a great job and I am proud of our employes

Service was good. Our server was very helpful and courteous. The food was great. One thinks of standard bar food but this was a step above. Ordered the Husker burger. It was great. Good neighborhood bar.

A casual neighborhood spot with great burgers, especially on Monday nights when they are half price. I've been to Danny's multiple times in the last year or two, and have always enjoyed it. Hard to beat good, cheap food and a beer alongside good company in a cozy little dive like this. Like I mentioned above, burgers are half price on Monday nights. The last time I had a Maverick burger, which is a double patty with your typical fixings minus the cheese. Not a bad deal for $4! There are some other burgers on the menu that are over the top, from one smothered in chili to another topped with pork brisket. Danny's is just plain good for what it is: A no frills dive with hearty, cheap food.

The small parking lot turned into madness on half price burger night! Otherwise it was packed in there (Packers game on//plus the half price burgers I am sure), and the service was normal paced to a little slow. The appetizers we tried we ok, standard fried bar food stuff, and the burgers were ok, but they forgot mayo and tomato on mine and also I should have gotten a double patty...I was still hungry after and went home to eat afterwards. Meh. But for $4.50 a burger and fries is a pretty good deal. My beer costed more! I wouldn't want to pay full price though. Just your average neighborhood bar.

A good little comfy bar. They have daily specials that a lot of folks will love, but I come here for the beer. It's cold, tasty, and right on the route of travel I find myself on. Parking is pretty easy and I have never seen this place more than 1/2 full so it is a great spot for quick service and fair prices

Danny's has a reputation as being one of the best places for bar food. I have been here before all I can do is give it three stars. Food is basic bar food.... very basic. No innovation or originality. Food is good but not great. Atmosphere is what you should expect... basic bar and grill Service was good even when the place was packed Overall, 3 stars. A good solid place for a burger or philly but nothing to write home about.

Cleanliness 4 Service 4 Food Quality 4 Likelihood 5 1-5 (5 Best!) 4.3 This is, to me, thee BEST burger in Omaha! (hug, no, not Bellevue!) LOL Lunch for 3, and this was my first visit. Server was engaged and helpful. She took pretty good care of us, 20% tip. We had burgers, and they were GOOD. Hand pressed beef, good bun, and GREAT crinkle cut fries! Good job. With tip, three meals, and 3 beverages was about $38. Not bad at all, especially for the quality. Daily special we will try soon.

Great food. Try the Sun Devil or the Rueben. The hot dogs are awesome. Onion rings are way above average. The service is always good. They also have great prime rib on the weekends.

Four stars for an old school American local favorite with a good chef in the kitchen. The burgers at my table were better than the shrimp I ordered. The prime rib on my last visit was good, as were the classic lettuce dinner salads. Families filled most of the tables on my evening visits. On my next visit I'm going for the much lauded burger.

While the CMYE was another great success (thanks Will), my burger was pretty dismal. I ordered the single patty with chili, cheese and onions and the first bite told me the chili was a. sweeter then a spoon full of frosted flakes and b. barely room temperature. I scraped all the toppings off to the side, replaced the top bun and tried a bite of the burger without all the toppings and.........gave up! Saddest burger of the 11 Burger Brigades we've had since last November. Our server took it back and took it off the bill despite my protest that since I ordered it, I expected to pay for it. I normally order just a basic Cheeseburger when checking out a new place and obviously that's what I should have done here. As it is, I'll remember this place as serving me the worst burger I've had in a long, long time!

I've been here twice for lunch. The service has been quick and the staff is friendly. They have a wide variety of food from sandwich melts to burgers to phillies and steaks. I really like the italian melt and my girlfriend likes the chicken philly. It's a great place to meet for lunch.

Well well....... waitress seemed a little slow. Ordered beef nachos before entrees. Received my soup before my appetizer which doesn't make sense. Hamburger steak with sautéed mushrooms came with no gravy. Who doesn't serve gravy with a chopped steak. I asked for medium came out medium well. My niece had a hair on top of her fries. Not a very good first time. On top of that damn it was kinda expensive. Iv tried it and probably won't again. I also was awarded 3 wooden chips for the hair in the food. Good for 3 free drinks

The food is pretty decent here. The $1 soda refill will keep me from coming here again though. Sad too, this was a good lunch spot. It's not even listed on the menu. You find out AFTER you order a soda. Bait and switch?

The food here is a little bit above your average small town bar & grill, but the atmosphere is aptly unpretentious and friendly and the food and domestic beer is very cheap. Pay in cash and you get a discount off the whole meal. They have a small patio, although it's right on one of the noisier intersections in town. I live nearby and can walk there in 5 minutes, making it an ideal neighborhood bar for a couple beers and burgers, phillies, wings, etc. P.S. They have a portrait of a caterpillar mistakenly humping a french fry next to the bar that single-handedly puts to shame many a sheik restaurant's decor of whom probably spent a fortune on "ambience" Long live Danny's Bar & Grill!

Eat here almost weekly. Some if not the best bar food in town. The staff is always great. Hard to come up with anything negative for this place

Great food and service. Kind of a dive bar (holy paneling batman), but spacious and relaxed. The price is right for the quality of food. Lots of choices, including about 10 different types of burgers. If you're a Packers fan, your crowd is here.

  • Paul W.

Nothing to write home about here. Had the hot wings and fries. Neither were prepared very well. The wings were small and soggy. My friend had a burger and he said it was pretty good. I will probably go back to try a burger sometime, but, there are plenty of other bars in Omaha that exceed in that category.

Don't get me wrong - this is bar food but a step above most bar food. They do lots of daily specials here as well as pies. I had a patty melt the other day and it was great. The burgers ar also good. The nachos and the chili are sub par. Overall though this is a good place to stop for cheap good food. Also love the cash discount. I always pay cash anyway so a little bonus is nice.

Disappointed that they stopped AYCE Steak night on Thursdays. Ribeye excellent. Bourbon Salmon is excellent. Crinkle fries better than Runza. Beer is always cold. Onion rings are the best in Omaha. it's great to have a reliable, friendly go to local. Plus, little known secret, their desserts are unbelievable. Made by pros. Chocolate cake. Raisin sour Cream, apple pie and ice cream, all excellent.

The food is generally good. I use to go there weekly. The last time I was there I criticized the for and the manager made it sound like I was trying to get out of paying, never mind that I had given my credit card to the bartender, I will never go there again.

Danny's is a Benson and mid-town staple known for it's daily specials and bar food that is not just out of the fryer. Danny's has been around awhile and it is a lived in dive bar (just how I like it). It feels like a small town bar/eatery right in the middle of Omaha. They have fantastic specials here (when you look at the price-know you are going to get a lot of food for it) including prime rib nights, NY Strip nights, burger nights and all you can eat taco and nacho nights. They offer a nice selection of different types of burgers and get creative with special burgers from time to time also. Personally I like to go on the steak nights (or just get a steak here) as you get a pretty good one for the price, cooked fine with two sides. I usually go with a baked potato (they make them foiled up steaming hot and fresh) another side and top it with mushrooms. Excellent and indulgent comfort food in a bar in your neighborhood. Normally I have good service here-though there have been some times in the past where I waited quite a bit while sitting at the bar. My most recent visit last night found the waitress to be super attentive and filling up our drinks on a very regular basis.

I've been here twice. The first time just had a cheese burger and fries. The burger was good but didn't care to much for the fries. Also both times I came it was cold outside an also inside so bring a coat in the winters months. The service was very friendly and they worked as fast as they could considering the amount of customers. Both times the house was packed. I def. recommend this place. Overall it's great food and good service. It is a hole in the wall bar so the cleanliness reflects that. Enjoy.

Danny's has really grown on me... especially since now I know to bring cash to get a $1 discount. I've been branching out from the Phoenix Wrap (which my coworkers are still obsessed with - out of 8 people, all 7 guys ordered the phoenix) to try the philly and, today, the Jayhawk chicken sandwich. (I pulled one of my favorite moves and asked our server for a recommendation.) She whole-heartedly said the chicken sandwich was a good choice and it was. Complimented with the cheesy potato teasers and bottle of hot sauce, it was bar food bliss.

It's been a long time since I've been to Danny's Bar & Grill. That streak ended last night when we decided for a quick bite before heading to Mai Tai Lounge. We had a large group so getting our food wasn't as quick as we would have liked. I guess that's to be expected when 14 people show up unannounced. When my burger and potato teasers finally arrived, they were just as I remembered them. For those who haven't had potato teasers, I recommend trying them. It's like a fried hash brown ball with melted cheese in the middle. Not health food but they're tasty. And you can't beat $8 for a pitcher of Boulevard. Try Danny's for a solid perhaps even good bar food.

5 star no questions asked. Food is amazing. Service very friendly. Don't let the looks of the place outside fool you. It's clean, foods the best bar food in town

This place is my go to anytime I feel like getting some greasy Bar and Grill type food. The food always tatstes like it came in fresh and was actually prepared and cooked as opposed to many other places that take everything straight from the freezer to the fryer. I would suggest to stick to the traditional bar food like the burgers and the chicken fingers, it is what they do best. The service has always been wonderful (they always remeber us even though we only stop in once every other month or so). I would love to give them 5 stars, but it is just a bar and grill and I have to reserve those top ratings for places that are more unique. P.S. I have picked up some chicken gizzards for carryout before Husker games and everybody always loves them, not too many people offer gizzards anymore and they do a great job with them.

I think of Danny's first and foremost as a burger joint, and it succeeds on all levels from that viewpoint. Patties are large, juicy, and handmade. Large selection of sandwiches in general. Also, go for the teezers - cheesy tater tots - for the ultimate artery clogging experience. Beer variety is a but sparse, but they usually have one or two micros on tap. Although they accept credit cards, they have a pretty good discount for paying cash (ten percent if I recall correctly).

Danny's is a great place for food! Never had anything bad there. Drink specials are great, service is wonderful. Most definitely pay with cash - the discount is worth it. There is an ATM on site if you prefer that route.

I've probably gone here for the last time. It's not like I ever went here very often anyway, maybe once or twice a year if that. The food's ok. Bar food. Bar atmosphere... The problem is that I'm dumbfounded.... All across the country, I've eaten a sandwich and half an appetizer at a huge variety of restaurants. Sure, it almost always costs a few bucks more. I have no problem with that. Some places might even price me out of it - I'm ok with that too. I've actually _never_ been completely turned down before. And it's not like I'm talking about something that isn't on their menu (Although - practically any restaurant will try in this case too - I've had root beer floats at all kinds of weird places, because they happened to have root beer and iced cream and were in the business of selling food) or something that can't be easily split without waste. I'm talking about fried-mushrooms. (Yes, the obvious question is why I would be eating that crap in the first place.) And it wasn't like this was at a busy time (2pm - weekday). Unless you believe that they are busy in the back breading their own mushrooms, then this is simply a matter of pouring 1/2 a normal sized batch of frozen breaded mushrooms into a fry basket and charging me 3/4 of the full price and we both leave happy. To be sure, like the rest of us - I legitimately should hear, "no" more then I do. The customer _isn't_ always right. And surely there are dining establishments where requesting a substitution would be considered rude, but this isn't one of them. So, yeah... I feel a bit high maintenance now - like this was somehow an unreasonable request (although I can't see how)... And that's what's bugging me. It's never been a problem before. And I suspect - as long as I avoid this place, it won't be a problem again.

Pros: Great bar food, casual Cons: Pretty much a dive Danny's isn't a place many people probably know about, but it's surprisingly a great place to get a bite to eat, especially for lunch. I came here a lot when I worked in Omaha from 2005-2007. The sirloin steak and cheeseburger were both good, as was the fish and chips during Lenten season. It's pretty much a dive and it's nothing special, but it's a good spot for lunch.

We always like to have a bar and grill close to the house that we can go to on those nights when we want to keep it very casual and of course want a drink. Danny's is our new go to place. I like the wings, chicken sandwiches, and the potato teezers. The drink specials are good and so is the service.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Guy Fieri picks this spot for Triple D some day - it is as divey as you get. The decor is your standard 1970's wood paneling and butcherblock tables, but get past that and you will get some good chow. As with other reviewers, the Phoenix Wrap (basically a meat-laced burrito) is awesome and always comes out fresh and hot. Coupled with the Potato Teasers (Cheese-filled, deep fried, delicious cardiac bombs), you have a meal for under $10 that will fill you up and leave you happy. The burgers and chicken sandwiches, as well as the onion rings, are always a great choice as well. Service is very prompt and polite. Danny, the owner, is often around at the lunch hour serving patrons and making sure your meal was ok. Great place for a quick lunch at very reasonable prices.

Good pub food experience in the middle of Omaha. The menu is expansive, given the scene, and the service is quick and good. Great place to watch a game and enjoy some beer and food. This place also has great specials.

Danny's is a quality local joint. Smoky as hell up front, but the back room with the fuzzy big screen is perfect, and smoke free. Burgers are top notch, as are the pork tenderloin and the chicken sandwich. The real draw for me is the Monday Night Football special, all you can eat tacos for $3.75. Awesome taco meat, big tortillas, hard taco shells, and round corn chips. Make a burrito, a taco, nachos. They also have a giant can of the "real" cheese sauce that you'd get on ballgame nachos. Plus loads of olives, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, salsa, shredded cheese, etc. They usually start between 7:45 and 8 on a Monday night during football season. For those 17 weeks, that there is the best deal in town. You're better off to drink beer than water, because they actually charge for water on taco night, even better!

  • Ryan t.

Danny's Bar and Grill is a great example of why if you're pretentious about where you hang out, you'll miss out on some pretty decent local joints. From all appearances, Danny's looks like a complete dive. But the food is actually pretty good (again, not gourmet), particularly when they do fish fry on Fridays during lent.
