I dine at this Cracker Barrel quite frequently here in West Omaha. They have one particular dish that I order every time. it's the haddock dinner, and it is excellent! It's a tender flaky whitefish with a very light baked coating. Delicious. I also get the mac & cheese, and green beans as part of the 3 sides as well as a side salad which I had already eaten most of, and therefore it is not in the picture :-) The restaurant is very clean, and well-maintained. Personally, I don't spend any time browsing the gift shop but I'm sure they have some nice things for local and traveling patrons to look at, and or purchase. I'd recommend this Cracker Barrel to anybody.

On occasion we go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Our son loves sitting outside and playing a game of checkers after we eat. and I like walking around the store while we are waiting for our food . We arrived a Saturday morning and got seated right away. They stuck us in a table in the corner when you first walk in which is a little cramped area where I had to face a wall. ( I absolutely hate facing a wall while eating I feel like I'm a child whos parents stick them in the naughty chair ) I didn't really understand why they sat us there when the dining area we were in was half empty was just odd. I almost requested to be seated somewhere else but I didn't want to be "one of those people " .. next time I will though. One thing I do have to say is the children's menu for breakfast is very limited. the kid can have an egg with a biscuit and you have to order the meat separate which of course cost extra. I really think they need to let kids order from the entire kids menu for breakfast ( this would include the lunch items ) . the portion size for kids are very tiny and expensive for what you get. Now on to my food. I tend to get the meal where you get a sampler . I love the cheesy hashbrowns and the biscuits and gravy. The sausage is "country " style so its very small but tasty. When you order that sampler thingy you may think you are getting a lot of food but in retrospect's you just get very small portions of different things . I wish they would have it where you could get lunch for breakfast but I am sure because of the vast menu they don't do it to save time for their staff. The prices are getting more expensive as with everywhere else. I'm sure if they go up even more we probably will stop going. Not really worth it when other places are cheaper.

Everytime we go we there is less quality and worst service. I had chicken tenderloins (grills) and 1/2 way through I noticed that some of my strips had mashed potatoes on it. I didn't have mashed potatoes... Ick. I hope it's not recycled. We waited for a long time ot get our tickets and drink refills. I used to love this place with it's home cooking style. It's just not as good as it used to be.

Very friendly service! All of the servers here are very nice and attentive. The food is always hot, fresh and tasty. The free biscuits and cornbread are terrific. I am usually not very adventurous, but last time I got the sampler and it was great. The ham tasted great, but the chicken and dumplings were ok. Maybe they are a acquired taste but I won't hold it against them.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. Every summer my grandparents would take us here. The atmosphere is very unique: It's an old timey country store, with a huge front porch full of rocking chairs and checker boards, as well as a country restaurant. The food is great! I always get the chicken fried chicken with three sides. I really should venture out and try something new; however, I just can't make myself. This time I went with my mom for lunch at 12:30. For my sides I got dumplings, fried apples, and hashbrown casserole. All were delicious. Our meals also came with corn muffins and biscuits on the sides, which is always good. I am never disappointed when I go here. Also, the country store is a great way to buy time if there's a long wait to be seated. Ladies, check out the clothes! I found a really cute and vintage dress there. :)

I enjoy eating at this national chain. Very cool decor and interesting things to look at and or purchase. The food is very good ... been several times and really like the variety and the quality. You really can't go wrong grabing breakfast or lunch or dinner here. Just good food. I good times.

They could try and have something for gluten people, but what they do is outstanding. Turkey sausage was very juicy, and hash brown casserole was great.

I've eaten at Cracker Barrel Restaurants before so I wasn't expecting much but this experience was beyond horrid. Arrived during lunch (12:30) and they were out of the special. I thought maybe an omelet would be a safe choice, no omelets on the menu and the waitress didn't have a clue. I ended up ordering a dish described as Chicken & Dumplins' and it was inedible, bland pieces of a chicken-like substance, flat doughy tasting things that were maybe supposed to be perceived as "dumplins" all floating in a blander than bland off-white "gravy". Never again will I consider eating at any Cracker Barrel anywhere.

I have had great experiences at Cracker Barrels across this country, and I have had some disappointing service. I have never had bad food at a Cracker Barrel. Cracker Barrel uses a star system for it's employees. The more stars you have on your apron, the more training and experience you have and hopefully, the better service and care you are able to provide. We had a two star employee serve us this past week. She was incredible. She "read" the table well and knew exactly how to care for us. She was NOT an order taker, she was a great server! Didn't miss a refill, checking back, knew what a raised eyebrow meant without having to raise our hand to get help. She cleaned away our dirty dishes and even offered after dinner coffee. She was a delight and made the meal extraordinary, as was her tip of 25%. Great job.

Loved the wood burning fireplace and the country decorations. Server was great and brought out complimentary cornbread and biscuits because the kitchen was busier than normal. I had the chef salad and it was big enough to take home for dinner.

Screaming child oh screaming child Pout and yelp and wail. slam your plate and just go wild Your parents on discipline bail. Turn your face a deep blood rouge Spin your bowl of creamy carrots ride your highchair like a louge And foam like a rabid ferret. Pout for granny, make her swoon Disrupt the entire cafe Your manners are equal to a baboon That's having a really bad day. The food is average at best, the gift shop is rediculous. But the poorly parented spoiled kid factor really hurts this place.

LOVE this place! Great service. Friendly. Great homecooked tasting food. I love the rainbow trout plate with biscuts..not a corn muffin girl myself..but hand me the biscuts! their cobbler and blue bell ice cream is fantastic too. I wish i had time to say just how much I love this place

I went here with Debra R and Jose R for lunch. I had the low-carb bacon cheeseburger with a salad. Debra R had the trout with a salad and Jose R got the grilled chicken tenderloin with turnip greens. The food was really good. This place had a store attached to this restaurant. I got a small wooden squirrel sculpture and a small wooden owl sculpture. It was a really nice store.

Well i've ate here two times now and both times were very good experiences! The price is right and the food is great! I had the cracker barrel platter. I hope thats what it was called. It had cured ham, meat loaf, green bean cassarole, patatoes, biscuits and fried apples. All this for around 8 dollars. Wow! Everything was very good. You get that down home cooking and it taste pretty good. Sure cant complain about the portions. The only thing i can complain about is the darn skin on the fried apples. That i will YELP about. Wonderful tasting apples though. Oh i guess i do have one more thing to bring up. The waitress who served me and my daughters could of been on the ball a little better. I had to flag her down 3 times for refills on my coffee and the kids drinks. Oh ya my girls wanted me to let everyone know they had the chicken tender kids meal and it was GREAT! They sure were too!

Despite staying at a legit "roach motel" the night before, where we refused to partake of the "continental breakfast" (because it would probably have had roaches in it), we crossed the street in our car, as is the only option in many parts of the US America, and found ourselves in the Cracker Barrell. You all know it, you've seen the highway (sorry, Freeway) signs and they're everywhere. But most of us haven't tried it. I figured it was time. If there is a wait when you arrive, it's short, and there's a country store where you can impulse shop to your heart's desire. Lots of real Americana goodies; flavoured soda pops, rock candy and t-shirts proudly displaying an angry American Eagle or some other iconic animal. Cracker Barrell delivers on the food front. Everything is quick, hot and relatively tasty and cheap. The biscuits are warm and on every table, which leads me to believe they're a fan favourite. But what up with the "country gravy"? This is clearly an American thing, which is cool, but it tastes and looks like Elmer's Glue. Not like gravy at all. I recommend that the menu creators try a real Canadian poutine for an idea as to how to prepare gravy that you can't use as mortar. My husband and I had full breakfasts for $20, including a generous tip. You can't do that in many of the places we have brunched. And the menu is stacked- there is something for everyone on it. I'm confident we'll never eat at this specific one again, because I hope to never be in Nebraska again. But, this place was awesome. And there is little else in the way of competition in the vicinity. There's a Subway, a Hardee's (this screams "American" though I don't know what it is) and a few other places I've never heard of which served hamburgers at 7 a.m.

They have breakfast around the clock and when I go, I usually stick to it - it's always great but you can't really mess up breakfast, can you? I still think the best thing about the restaurant is the overpriced gift shop. They have all sorts of stuff that make interesting gifts.

all of my friends from the midwest and florida rave about cracker barell like it's God's gift to comfort food or something. so on a recent trip to omaha i passed a cracker barell and had to see what all the hype was about. meh. the whole country store theme was cute...reminded me of po folks in buena park, ca. as i scan the menu i decided to go with breakfast and ordered the french toast with sausage. the french toast was on sourdough bread so i thought it would be fab but it was lacking something...let me think...oh i know, TASTE! very bland...the sausage discs looked like something i would give my dogs. it tasted strange and very salty and had a weird texture. my mother ordered chicken and veggies...the chicken was moist but tasted like those trailor park trash chickens from the foster farms commercials. the way that this chicken tasted, i think it smoked weed and drank beer before gracing my mom's plate with it's presence. oh and the green beans were straight from a can and tasted like cigarette smoke...i'll give them credit, being able to incorporate the taste of tobacco in their food. hey, it is the midwest! now, all of my so cal friends out there know norms...and if you don't, i strongly suggest getting to know it. i LOVE norms. cheaper than dirt, delicious food (especially at 2am after the bars am i right?) and the best part about norms is all the crazies! it's like dysfunctional disneyland. but in all seriousness, the food is fantastic. this place couldn't hold a candle to norms. on the upside, they originally brought out the wrong food for my mom so we got half off of our bill. i wouldn't have paid more, anyway. yes, i am a cheapskate with food because you know, it's only in you temporarily! gross, i applogize. moral of this review...if you see a cracker barell, pass it up you aren't missing much.
