I don't get all the hate for China Town. Sure, it's a little heavy, and a little salty. I feel like that's par for the course when you're ordering Americanized Chinese food from the Midwest... it almost becomes something you look forward to, even. I've only ever spoken to the nice soft-spoken Chinese dude, never the rude angry lady, and their delivery has always been super fast (I live probably 3-5 minutes driving distance away; have never actually seen the location). My husband and I order the same thing every time, and it's consistent and yummy. Wonton soup (deep-colored broth, ask if you want scallions, LOTS of wontons for a small), pork egg rolls (awesome), boneless spare ribs (also awesome, and they're not coated in oily slime like a lot of other places), steamed dumplings (different than you'd expect, but great... lots of flavor, no sauce required), and pork fried rice (this is the only meh item for me, but husband loves it, so...) Since they don't advertise "No MSG!" all over their menu, I'm going to assume the heavy saltiness is partially due to MSG. If you're sensitive to it, I would avoid. Otherwise, it's great "crappy Chinese" when you don't want something authentic or high-end.

Cleanliness 4 Service 4 Food 4 Likelihood 5 1-5 (5 Best!) 4.3 My office is just a few doors down from China Town. We live just a block away from Three Happiness (another good venue.) So I end up eating China Town food at least once a week. I have never been disappointed. The crab rangoons they use/make are lighter, crisper and are great tasting. I love their sweet and sour sauce, not too sweet and not too thick. The chicken has a light breading on it, and the white meat chicken is always cooked well, moist and flavorful. The rice is never cold. I sometimes walk up and get it myself, or if I am buried in work I have them drop it off. I always get chicken and crab rangoon's. The food is hot, fresh, and tasty. The restaurant does not offer much ambience, I would not recommend eating in: this is a take out or pick up joint only.

Trust your instincts... this place is as bad as it looks. This is definitely not somewhere you go to sit and have your meal. There were 4 tables when you walked in and a bell on the counter. We ordered our meals and received them quickly, that's a plus I guess. But we ate with plastic forks and got one small glass of water, no refill as the two guys working were both in back cooking not to be seen again. I got chicken fried rice. The chicken was so bad, it looked like pieces of rubber, had absolutely no taste, and had the consistency of.. mush! I met my Aunt here and we didn't have the option to take it to go, so we sat and sweat as we ate. She ordered broccoli chicken and was just ok with her meal, the chicken had the same texture and consistency. The fried rice had no egg, no flavor, and was very greasy. I would not recommend this restaurant. The crab rangoons were tasty, I'll give them that. But I just avoided my chicken, was very thirsty, and ate my rice.

I live 10 blocks away and they refused to deliver to us, even though they have in the past. Extremely rude on the phone. I will never try to order from here again, it's clear they don't want my business anyway.

DO NOT ORDER FOOD FROM THIS PLACE THE WORST CHINESE FOOD EVER!! I travel a lot and order Chinese frequently, New York, San Francisco, etc. Ordered Moo Goo Gai Pan and Beef Moo Shu. Pancakes with Beef Moo Shu were stuck together, had holes and broke apart when I tried to eat them. Quality of chicken and beef was not good...mushy. Did not eat the food. I called restaurant and they refused to offer anything to make it better. All they could say was "Our food is good". I will never order from this restaurant again. Fortune cookies were even stale...really!

I tended to order delivery here a lot. I always found the food to be serviceable and a great meal for a hangover, however, its unreliable delivery policies make for an unsatisfied customer who will probably never order from them again.

The place has wonderful greasy chinese takeout. We've eaten there for 8+ years. However, it's a dingy little hole in the wall and you would never want to sit down and eat there. Just call and pick it up or get it delivered.

I ordered delivery from these guys for lunch today, and enjoyed it a lot for what it is...cheap chinese food (for which I have an affinity). I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken, which was a substantial amount of food (veggies consisted of mostly celery and carrots), and the chicken was good quality...I like chicken so I could have used a little more, but whatever, it was still quite tasty. As for greasy, I think Kainanny C. was maybe a little harsh...I wasn't drunk/hungover at all and I still enjoyed it. I mean, it's pretty much EXACTLY what I expected it to be. And the lady on the phone? Yeah, she's pretty abrupt, but again...EXACTLY what I'd expect; kinda adds to the charm of the place. Never actually been in to the restaurant itself, but I'd definitely order from them again.

When I first moved to Omaha, I drove by China Town once and initially thought, "Oh man, what a dump. I bet it's great." Then I saw the sign that said they deliver and figured I'd better save the phone number immediately. In the few years that have passed since that fateful day, I have become a regular customer of China Town, and they've yet to disappoint me, in fact they've regularly left me quite impressed. Their crab rangoons get more delicious each time I order them, the eggrolls are just great, and the portions on entrees are pretty generous. Their boneless spare ribs are pretty incredible as well. I've never really liked those things before, but recently a friend of mine ordered some, had his mind blown, shared them, and we all said, "Why aren't we eating these with every meal?" Every once in awhile I've gotten nervous about a specific menu item. "Well, their chicken and pork has always been fine, but who knows what the shrimp is like." Alas, the Singapore Style Rice Noodles immediately became one of my favorite dishes and China Town had proved their merit once again. Since I get another copy of the menu each time I order, it didn't take long before I had one in every room of the house, making it that much more convenient to get dinner brought to my door.

The first time I got food from here, it was take out and I thought it was okay. I don't remember what I ordered. Recently, my boyfriend and I went to eat in because it's close and we wanted Chinese food. Soooo disappointed because first of all, 2 of the 4 tables had plates still on them and the one we sat at, felt sticky. Then, we had to go up to the counter and order and pay right away. While we waited for our food, we listened to the owners (I'm guessing) yell at each other in Chinese. Our food came and just from looking at it, we could tell, it was not going to taste good. I tried the boneless spare ribs and my boyfriend got chicken fried rice. We each put about 4 packets of soy sauce on our meals but it didn't help. Needless to say, we will probably not order from or dine here again.

The first time I wandered into China Town, I made the mistake of believing their sign out front that said they had a buffet. They don't. The current owners inherited the sign and just never got around to changing it. I was a little put out, but enjoyed the food. I've been a happy customer of China Town for over 5 years now, and have gone there often enough that they recognize my wife and I whenever we drop in. CT maintains a consistent quality, make their food impressively fast while handling a busy stream of traffic, and keep their prices low. The crab rangoon is as good as I've tasted (better than some others in the area). The dine-in area isn't much to speak of, but they do have a few tables for those who might need to sit and eat. The old adage for Chinese restaurants is, "The smaller the restaurant, the better the food." China Town proves the saying true.

I'm sorry... 2 stars, although my mind is really saying "Eek! Methinks not (1 star)", and the reasons are: 1. Sweet and Sour Pork, was basically just fried flour balls with teeny tiny overcooked pork in them, we took a bite and wanted to give the rest of them to our dogs but we didn't, because they were too greasy. 2. Beef Lo Mein, was OK, basically just noodles with soy sauce and some small pieces of beef, I can totally make a 10 times better Lo Mein at home and I should stop comparing this "China Town" with some real authentic Chinese cuisine restaurants and buffets in New York and I finally accepted the fact that American Chinese fast delivery food is NOT original just like Fortune Cookies and that's why Chinese people don't like Panda Express... 3. Seafood Combination, pulled out a hair tangled on a shrimp... anyway I had severe diarrhea that night... I read most of the reviews before I called for the delivery, I was very curious about the controversy and was hoping to videotape my husband speaking to the famous "rude Chinese lady on the phone", but it was a soft Chinese boy this time, the 2 stars is for you.

Used to order from here all the time because it was relatively cheap and quick. The food was never what drew us in. Ordered today and we've decided to never order again. We ordered an egg roll, pint of hot and sour soup, crab Rangoon and general tsos chicken. He repeated the order back and said it was 28 dollars... More than what their menu said, but I figured their price changed. They show up, drop the food off and leave before I could tip them. They didn't give us our egg roll and charged us for a large pork lo mein and a large soup. We called them back to see if we could exchange it, and he pretty much told us we were trying to lie, and he gave us what we ordered. They gave us no receipt and started yelling. NEVER going back I will not tolerate being called a liar. I worked in the food industry and I know how hard it can be, but ive never yelled or called a guest a liar. So disappointed.

First, the good, the broccoli in the Beef with Broccoli seemed to be fresh. Unfortunately, that's it for saying anything good. I cannot recommend this restaurant for anything. Service was rude. I can't believe that there is any regular effort to clean it. And the food is AWFUL.

We were staying at La Quintas and this place is listed as one of the restaurants that deliver there. We order crab rangoons, a large egg drop soup, a small house lo mein, and a combination platter with general tso's chicken. The total comes to $21 and some change. The delivery guy arrives in less than half an hour - awesome --- but get this. He's playing with his cell phone when I open the door, barely give me eye contact, and tells me the total is $21 something. I have only twentys in my wallet, and he then frowns and says he doesn't have change. WTF. How do you deliver something that is $21 and not bring change? So I check the rest of my money and I don't have any change not to mention I thought I'd give him a bit of a tip. So I tell him I have no change, so he, still while playing with his phone which is extremely rude, says to me hesitantly that he can go to the lobby and get change - GREAT IDEA GENIUS! I give him one of my twenties and he takes off. So while he does that, I take the food out and realize that we got only a small egg drop soup when I ordered a large, second issue to deal with. I'm not gonna ask this guy to come back with a second small, so I figured we can just subtract it from the total. I then do the math and realize that the total isn't correct, that it's off by more than a couple dollars. The delivery guy comes back, again playing with his cell phone while he gives me the change and I tell him I ordered a large and got a small. I also tell him the total doesn't seem to add up. He then tell me, "I don't know, call the restaurant". WTF, you have a cell phone you've been playing with, why don't you call them. So I call them and tell them I got a small if he can change the price and he says the total is $20 something now, and I ask, my total that I add up is only $18 something, and he then says "oh, we charge $2 delivery fee to La Quintas." So, crappy delivery guy. Undisclosed delivery charge of $2. And the food -- the soup had so much corn starch that he felt almost like pudding or warm jello! And I kid you not, it wasn't even slightly hot -- these soups stay hot for a long time too. Everything else was mediocre at best. So unless if you want bad customer service, sketchy pricing, and food that isn't even worth the hassle, don't order here!

This has to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had! Being new to Omaha, I was looking for good Chinese food delivery. I placed my order - check. About 15 minutes later, I received a phone call from the delivery person telling me to go downstairs because he was waiting at my building entrance. I go downstairs - nobody's there! I call the restaurant and was told "he calls before he gets there, he'll be there in 1 minute." Well 10 minutes later I call back to say I still don't have a delivery man or my food - what's going on? I hear a man yelling in Chinese in the background and instead of answering me, the man on the phone participates in the apparent heated discussion with the arguing man. I try to get his attention, and told the delivery man insists my address doesn't exist. Funny though, because I'm standing at that address. I try to tell him that indeed the address is valid because I'm standing there, and over the arguing man in the background he repeatedly tells me my address doesn't exist. Needless to say, I cancelled the order and will NEVER use this establishment.

Not the best in town, but for a place that delivers (&fast!) it's pretty good! Not a fan of their chicken, but my husband and I both like the pork. I get the moo shu pork & he gets pork lo mein. We also really like the hot & sour soup- the crab rangoons are pretty average.

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
