Very impressed with this bar! We showed up to fill our growler on a Friday afternoon, we didn't know they weren't open yet and they still decided to give us samples and help us out. Very good customer service. The coffee beer was amazing!

Great service, great selection of food and beverages. Glad to have found this gem in Benson. When your looking for a new place to eat, head over to BensonBrewery and it will become a regular occurrence!

This is the new spot in Benson which specializes in brewing (Obviously) but also has great, unique food. They have around 16 beers on tap with four of their own and some more to come in the future per my bartender. Their original beers are pretty tasty but they also have some great local craft beers from Iowa, Nebraska and other midwestern states. My friends and I split some small plate food. I recommend the peppadew peppers. I heard from others the fish tacos and pastrami sandwich were great. Will definitely be back here for happy hour and dinner.

The bacon alone is enough reason to come here. SO GOOD! The Chai beer was interesting and tasty. While I have eaten here previously for other meals and wasn't entirely blown away. their brunch offering was very good. The Chicken and Waffles had an interesting twist on gravy that was absolutely delicious. My fiance's pancakes were also to die for. Would definitely come back! Great service too!

Cool atmosphere, garage door was open for this beautiful evening. I tried the Dirty Blonde ale, light & crisp with no mistake that it is freshly brewed right here. Fish & chips for me, hearty, meaty fish w/ dense but thin homemade fries, no Long John's up in this place! Full! Ryan had a pork sandwich & a salad, he says it was tasty. 2 smiles up.

Update: I sent an email to the contact email address at Benson Brewery and received a very good response. An explanation (not an excuse) and an apology was offered for the previous menu miscommunication. The management team indicated that it was a communication issue on their side for not making the waitstaff was completely aware of the new menu/food situation and how they should be handling inquires by the customers. While I was critical of the initial interaction, I was impressed by receiving the response and the earnest request by the food management team to have an opportunity to earn back the customer's loyalty. I also appreciated that they did not dump the problem on the waitstaff who have always been very professional. We are now actually looking forward to the next visit when the new menu is available and will make sure to write a new review that I expect will be much different.

We came here to sample the beer. They had fairly limited beer options, and they were out of two of them at the time. I had the Karha-T and enjoyed it. My boyfriend had the Dubbel and found it to be solid. We tried a sample of their specialty Cherry Imperial Stout and thought it was subpar. We ate some chips and queso and enjoyed them, but we didnt eat anything beyond that. The bartender was friendly and welcoming.

Been to the brewery multiple times for dinner & drinks. The brew is always tasty, bartenders know their stuff, but their food has stuck out. Disappointed multiple times this summer when they couldn't figure out how to maintain proper temperature in the restaurant. Didn't want to eat food with subarctic air blowing on food. The most recent experience the food wasn't cooked properly. First try, they overlooked the sausage meal and a hamburger. After we sent the food back, we tried the hamburgers once more...but both were over cooked, don't understand how a cook doesn't know what medium means. I really wanted to like this spot but I can't support sub par food after so many attempts.

Great ambiance, really good beer and a refreshingly inventive menu. Probably would have gone with 4 stars but our food came out a little on the cold side (Collard greens are not very appetizing when cold).

This is another great addition to Benson! I had the Benson Dirty Blonde Ale and it was great. My wife had the shandy which consisted of lemo, the blonde ale, and some kind of vodka. Also very good. Another plus is that while they only have two of their own beers, they have a total of 16 on tap. So there's plenty of variety. We dropped by before 6 pm so the menu was limited to four or five items including pork sliders, sloppy joe's, french fries and a couple of other items. We ordered the fries to snack on while enjoying our drinks. They were tasty with herbs and vinegar (no ketchup). They have a little patio out front with four of five tables. The interior is awesome. Plenty of seating at the bar, one long table in front of the garage door that opens when it's nice out. On the left side of the bar, they had one long booth with a number of small tables each one with a chair on the other side. Towards the back they had several four seat tables. And I loved the exposed brick. I can't wait to go back for dinner.

This place is your typical trendy Benson area restaurant / bar. It will probably stay alive because of the beer which Omahan's seem to love soo much. The food was terrible. Small portions, served cold and tasteless. I think the service is fine but the decor is also "typical" When I think of where there is really a great place in Omaha to eat that I would go back to I can only think of "Blue" which is so outstanding it beats the seafood restaurants in Portland, OR where I am from. Omaha has a lot of people and a lot of money but they are soo far behind in great food that isn't a chain. No offense, but maybe Omaha does not have a sophisticate palate .Otherwise I can't figure out where all the 5 Stars come from.
(1)Michael H.
Ordered bison burger medium and it was raw. Service is ok. Dinner times for the grill are limited, 6pm-10pm. Kinda weird since the bar is open 4pm to midnight.
(2)Darcy W.
My husband and I are pretty picky about our bars (for different reasons), but this place is quickly becoming one of our new favorites. Hubster likes the beer variety (specifically the in-house brews), the cleanliness, and the attentive bartenders. I like the overall ambiance / cool vibe of the place, the friendly and knowledgeable bartenders, and the vegetarian menu options. We have had appetizers there on a couple of occasions, and are looking forward to trying entrees. The food uses high-quality ingredients and is prepared very well. A wonderful addition to Benson.
(5)Johnny Y.
Love this place, good food and good beer. Pepadue poppers is now my favorite dish. Trendy and relaxing atmosphere. :) the burger is also very good, will come back to try other dishes.

Where do I even begin? I've heard stories about bad experiences here, but we decided to stop in anyway. We sat down on a Thursday night (maybe an average night..not really busy) and ordered our drinks while we looked over the menu. The server came back (still no drinks) and there was a back and forth between the kitchen and us 3 times before we were able to order something they weren't out of. We ordered the vegan wings (no dipping sauces though because they were out), the tofu sandwich, the veggie loaf w/ mashed potatoes and an order of fries. Our server had to come back AGAIN after the kitchen told her that they actually only had enough for a half order of the vegan wings, so..we got a half order instead. I had to change my order to the vegan burger because they didn't have veganaise for the tofu sandwich. Then she told us that they were working on making the vegan mashed potatoes because they were out. After 20 minutes of waiting on our drinks we finally got them (not sure if that's the server's fault or the bar's- neither were busy enough for the wait though..) We reminded her that we had ordered fries..so we received our fries finally, and then after about an hour of waiting we got our meals. The guy that brought us our food informed us that they weren't able to do the vegan mashed potatoes, but offered to comp the fries we'd ordered (spoiler alert: he didn't and we had to ask our server to do it after we saw our bill). I spoke with the server before we left and made sure she knew that I was aware that not all of the mishaps were her fault. How incredibly frustrating for her to have so many things go wrong (some of it avoidable on her end- like communication about what they have and don't have available, but really..). They should do their ordering better so that they can prep accordingly and not run out of things on such a large scale. Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. I work in food service and have been prepping the past two days for it. I'm going to go ahead and guess that they haven't been, and I hope other couples don't have the same experience tomorrow that we did tonight. For the record, this was our Valentine's Day dinner as we both work all day/night tomorrow..so there's that. The food was alright, but wow..we won't be stopping in here again. I really, truly hope they get a manager in there (or possibly the issue is that the manager isn't managing...?), otherwise they won't be around much longer.

We started here on the 2014 Craft Beer tour. It was nice to have a special menu for the event, tried a Saison, which I had never had before and LOVED it! Our waitress had an incredible memory of our beer taster choices. I had been here before, so I knew I liked the other samples I had. I LOVE the interiors of this place- seriously, got to be the best light fixtures, and bar stools in town! However...the food was not impressive. The BF had the fish and chips and although we asked if they were heavily breaded and told, not that much- yes, they are massively breaded...which came the problem of my fish sandwich, which was "cooked" RAW...twice. Needless to say, its a good thing the fries were yummy...thats all I ate. They did comp the fish, but then again I would have been appalled if they had not. I think the depth of the fish is too thick to get a good consistent cook on it. My friend got the wings, which she thought were way too vinegar based- I did try one and agree. I have heard the menu and quality of food has decreased in the last few months, and I would have to agree. Don't get me wrong though, I would definitely come back and give it another whirl, the atmosphere is very cool, and I have hope that the food arena will pull it together.

We went for the beer and got two flights so that we could try most of them. Since it is a brewery, I expect exceptional beer. It was ok. Not sure what it was about them, but none of them really stood out to me as great and a couple were a touch flat and really not my thing. The food looked really amazing and had us wishing we hadn't already eaten, so I will definitely be back to try the food and give the beer another go.
(3)C.M. C.
Andy the Brewmaster stopped by to say "hi" and talk beer. New place getting their footing with lots of potential. Will definitely return!!!!!
(4)Steve S.
The beer was very good. That is only real reason to go to a brewery The bar tender with the beard was very nice seems like he was an owner But the bartender with long blond hair had a HUGE chip on he's shoulder He could not wait to be rude, as soon as he got a chance. Ruined the experience for me
(3)Kirsten H.
This place is really good. I had the chai beer and enjoyed it. I also tried the dirty blonde and liked it a lot. My friend ordered the bison burger and liked it. I got the craft sausage which was good, but could perhaps use a starch side. The decor is cool--very trendy. Our server was also good, very cool and attentive. Would definitely go back when I'm back in town.
(4)Jennifer D.
Beer was off- something must have been up with the taps. Sliders were good but took 30 minutes when there were very few people there and 5 people in the kitchen. Fries were undercooked and came late.

When we're on the road and we find all of these FANTASTIC restaurants with such delicious vegan options I just want to collect them all and bring them back to Richmond. Get the vegan hot wings with vegan ranch. Get them naked and dip them in the super tasty sauces. We got the bbq sandwich with japeleno slaw, too, but I haven't tried it yet. It's still sitting in the car. :) Also, just incase you like beer, the beer was also crisp, delicious and refreshing on this hot summer's day. The chick that waited on us was also gorgeous, friendly, knowledgable about the menu and extremely helpful. An all around good place. Excellent excellent.

In my continuous business trips to Omaha I have made it a point to not limit my dining options to the hotel restaurants. This was the place of choice last week. I come there on a Tuesday, also known as Taco Tuesdays!!!! I got me a flight of beers, by far my favorite was their coffee stout (I cannot remember the name, but it was to best one on the flight). I was really not that big of a fan of their 'Indian Chai' themed beer, but worth a try as one of your 6 in a flight..... For tacos, I had some fish and some duck tacos. Really good, simple and freshly made. However next time I think I'll ensure I do not spend too much of my per diem before heading here and grab the hanger steak
(4)Brian L.
Driving through Nebraska, had to check out the local scene! And was pleasantly surprised. The fried tofu sandwich was out of control. Cripsy, tangy, deliciousness in vegetarian form. As an avid meat lover, I have to admit that the tofu put my pulled pork sandwich to shame (although it was still good). The beer selection is also quite good. We got two flights ($6 each) so we were able to sample 8 total. Highlights were the Karha-t (how do you pronounce that? tastes so much like Chai!), the Ohm-aha IPA (just straight delicious hops without too much bitterness), and the Brewer's Duet (like eating a loaf of bread with coffee. In a beer.) Definitely check it out!
(5)Kyle T.
A mercifully edited and consistently good beer list and one of the best burgers in town. Terrific patio on the roof. What's not to like? This is our go-to spot in Benson. We often think about hitting other places but always wind up here.
(5)Chris A.
Made a quick lunch stop on the way to the airport, and we were not disappointed in the least! Bartender welcomed us and was very friendly and helpful at explaining recent changes to the taps and they switched our beers. We did two flights (4 pours for $6) to try everything, and she threw in the ninth beer they had on tap as an extra. Favorite beers had to be the Karha-T - just a very unique, creative brew - and the Om-aha IPA. The Crimson & Clover was nice, and the Benson'ight was light in character for a black ale. The Brewers Duet was also a nice contribution - using cold pressed coffee. Wish they still had the Maibock and the Berliner on - those would have been nice to try. Now, the food. There is a small kitchen next to the bar, and once again, the food did not disappoint. We were blown away by the charred wings with hot sauce - the grill really provided a wonderful taste, and the hot sauce was a subtle but delicious heat. A heaping portion for less than $10 - probably some of the tastiest wings I have had anywhere. We also split the mac and cheese with bacon - absolutely wonderful, with a unique flavor coming from the gouda. All in all, a great last taste (and sip) of Omaha before heading home. Would have loved to stayed for a full pour of the Karha-T and try some of the other food items.

Good beer, attentive service, and I even received appreciation for coming in. Another top-notch eatery in Benson. I wanted an exceptional burger, and I came to the right place. The Brewer's Burger is really awesome. Support your local businesses.

Where do you go to kill an hour or two in the Benson area of Omaha.. My band mate and I decided to hit up Benson Brewery to try out some beer! I'm so glad we did, and we ended up staying for dinner! First thing you notice is the smell of hops.. It hit me as we walked in, the brew master was up on a ladder making beer! I love how you can see them working, crafting, and handing your future beverage with care! I choose to get the FIX Ale which had a perfect hoppy bite and was definitely the best beer I drank today (we had a few that night)! We also stayed to order food, because the vegan options were pretty incredible! I got the BBQ Tofu sandwich, which as Mike S. says is a little messy but dang it's good, topped with Vegan Mayo, it's unlike any fried tofu sandwich I have ever had! It was brilliant. It comes packed to the gills with toppings, and I got a side of fries and they stuff the plate silly. The staff was great, baseball was on the tube, and a friend came to grab dinner with us! All in all it was the perfect afternoon start to a great evening in Omaha! Q-the Terminator voice, "I Will Be Back"
(5)Reed N.
The neighborhood and the build-out here are awesome. I came in after a late breakfast at Leo's next door and had a flight of beer. Every single effort was delicious! My favorites were the Hop Box and Alt-er Ego. I will have to come back for dinner... the smells from the prep for the evening were already astonishing. I talked a bit to the chef and I will leave his secrets to your tongue... he was doing some cool things to bring some big flavors later!
(5)Robert L.
Great little hipster spot in Benson. Great shelf Margaritas. The Mac and cheese with chunks of bacony goodness is amazing. We aren't Vegans but ordered the Tofu wings, hot. They were delicious and extremely filling. We both ordered the local black bean burgers with tomato, avocado and the vegan house ranch. What a great pairing of flavors. It was delicious. I wish they'd sell the house ranch dressing but they don't. The beers were great and the service was excellent. A new go to spot.
(4)Geoff D.
Nice place, they need to sort out their extractors though - smoky kitchen. Blonde beer was good, wheat was fair, pale ale delightful and the IPA standard.
(4)Maggie W.
Charred wings for dayyyyys, y'all. Honey mustard in particular. Dang. So tasty. So... their gluten-free options are not plentiful. :/ but the ones that they do offer are pretty darn tasty, and my sweet husband said that the Chorizo Mac and Cheese was outta control. The salad I got was as big as my head (and no hats ever fit me, so that's saying something). The kale was peppery and wonderful and tasted like it had been cut out of somebody's garden that morning. The chicken in my salad was super fresh, and all in all I was super pleased with the ambience, the service, and my meal. The downside: no gluten free beer. Of course. They did have cider, so I did still get to drink before the Motion City Soundtrack show down the road at the Waiting Room. PSA: the fries are gluten-free. The gravy, however, is NOT. So poutine is out of the question for you cheeseheads. (Believe me, I wanted it so bad, and was crushed when told that the gravy was thickened with flour.) In the summertime, when it's still light out at 9pm and they open up the windows to connect the inside and the outside... it's magical. I wanna spend all my time in that building.
(4)Julia R.
I have tried everything on both the food menu, as well as all of their regular beers. This is my favorite place to eat and have a drink in Benson. This is a place where both carnivores and vegetarians alike can be satisfied. The black bean burger is good, and the greek burger (the beefy kind) is good. The seitan wings are good, and the wings of the chicken variety are good as well. Like I said - something for everyone here. Their black ale is called Benson'ight, and it is one of my favorite beers in the universe. I'm not even a huge beer person, but this just hits the spot everytime. One of the waitresses described it as a mix between an IPA and a stout (if you can even imagine that). Service is always, always excellent. They play my kind of music. I find myself constantly craving the beer cheese gouda pretzel sticks. I love Benson Brewery.
(5)Laurel R.
Had a delicious fun dinner in a Saturday night. Service was excellent, beers for brewed in house and great. Had the mussels and charred shishimi peppers for apps. The peppers were my favorite and came with a lovely cream cheese dip. Had the IPA mustard wings with homemade ranch, went perfectly with my beer. Their menu changes based on the season do you know it's fresh. One of my favorite stops in Omaha!
(5)John M.
Benson Blonde & Karha-T beers get two thumbs way up! The Brewer's burger is memorable experience...and the charred brew wings are a must!
(5)Will S.
I like Benson Brewery. For one, the beer is consistently great especially considering their ever-rotating list of seasonal and experimental house made brews. The atmosphere is also very inviting. From the new banquet room to the cozy little bar to the fantastic outdoor seating area that's hidden out back, it's all very modern-urban-chic. The one thing I've had inconsistencies with is the food. Three out of four times my meal was excellent -- quality, fresh ingredients comprise the deliciousness that is their house salad and mahi-mahi sandwich. They also make a mighty-fine burger and not-too-shabby fish tacos (even though I'm never too keen on the flour tortillas, well, from anywhere). My saddest moment was when I popped in for a beer and an appetizer before heading to another event down Maple Street. The beer, as always, was great. But my hummus and bread app was underwhelming -- way too much (stale) bread and bland hummus made me leave half of it behind. All in all -- great beer, great atmosphere and good food, although the latter can be inconsistent.
(4)Karina C.
Really nice brewery! You can see the brewing process from your seat! During the summer they open the windows and it's a very informal atmosphere. They have a small menu that's good too. They sell T-shirts!

I met a friend here for dinner on a weeknight. When I arrived, she had been there for a few minutes and ordered a beer flight. I decided to also try one, but had to wait about 10 minutes for the waitress to come over and take my order. This was typical of the rest of the night. Our waitress was very friendly but the service was spotty and slow. I finished my water within the first 10 minutes (before we even ordered our food) and it wasn't refilled until 45 minutes later, right before we paid the check. Their beer flights allow you to choose four beers to try for $6. I think each one is about 3 ounces. I went with the Benson'ight (a black ale), the Karha-t (a spiced mild English ale), the Alt-er Ego (a German ale), and the Berliner Weiss (a sour ale). I liked all of them, except the sour ale, which my friend described as similar to if you dropped a sour patch kid in a Bud Light. The Benson'ight was probably my favorite, although the Karha-t had the most unique flavor. I really enjoyed the beer flight and thought it was a great price for what you get. It was Taco Tuesday on the night we visited, meaning they have several $2 tacos (duck, fish, lentils, steak, pulled pork, or chicken). My friend and I were torn between wanting to try the tacos and something off the regular menu, so we decided to each get a duck taco and split the Blue Cheese Burger (burger topped with balsamic bacon jam and blue cheese) with fries. The food came out in a reasonable time. The tacos were decent-sized for $2, but were pretty disappointing. The duck was dry and didn't have much flavor. The toppings helped a little bit but overall it was uninteresting. The burger made up for it, though. The burger was cooked perfectly and was oozing out flavorful jam and topped with a generous pile of blue cheese. The flavors were perfect together. The fries were ok. The prices are reasonable for the area and there are other menu items I want to try, so I will probably come back again, but I will stay away from the tacos in the future. I would definitely like to try more of their beers.
(3)Colin B.
Went there on a Saturday night. The place was packed and the host stepped up to seat us and take our order. The food was fantastic. We had the vegan buffalo wings, beer cheese soup and shared the mahi mahi fish and chips. I would recommend all of them. Beers were great too! Food: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Staff: 5/5 Clientele (other diners): 5/5
(5)Katherine P.
So, this is one of my favorite all time restaurants. I've tried vegan and vegetarian burgers across the country and this one is the best by far. And my fiancé loves the variety of meat-eater options, too. And craft brew lovers? You're in luck. This brewery makes quality brews you'll want to take home with you. Our favorites, Chad, Maggie & Zach always bring excellent customer service and experience that brings us back at least monthly if not more often. Also, the vegan ranch is to die for.
(5)Luke I.
Even though they were very busy, the service was excellent. The beers were very precise and tasty; they are brewed very well. Both the vegan and regular wings were tasty. The fries were awesome, and I appreciate the option of a half order! Thank you Benson Brewery

The second stop on my weekend Omaha brewery trip. Didn't have a chance to try any food so this is just a review of the location and the beer. This is nestled away in the Benson neighborhood. It's definitely an older area of town and it looks like the neighborhood gets a little rough a block or two outside of the main drag. Benson itself is located in what looked like an old main street back in the day before Omaha consumed the town. Inside is very rustic with old brick walls. You can even smell the age of the building in the air, that's not a bad thing. Benson Brewery is a little more cramped than many newer establishments but that's what you should expect when a place refurbishes an older space into something it wasn't originally intended for. They do have a couple of TVs that were tuned to ESPN but otherwise not a lot of ambient entertainment. It's not a sports bar though so you wouldn't expect that. They had a very nice selection of beer and since it was Valentine weekend I opted for the chocolate cherry sour ale to start off with. It was a very good sour with a nice hint of chocolate. I then decided that there were too many beers to pass on and ordered a flight. Four 4 oz beers for $6 isn't a bad deal. Again, the beers I got were all good for their respective types. Next time I am in town I may try to hit this place up for their food as well. As it stands I would totally recommend coming here for the beer alone as they are brewing some good things here.
(5)Sarah H.
Came in for lunch based on the yelp reviews and availability of a veggie burger. I was not disappointed! One of the best veggie burgers ive ever had-- home made, obviously their own recipe. Service was great. Didnt try their drinks. I would definitely come back!
(5)Dezeree H.
So glad we were able to visit this restaurant while in town. I am not a big beer fan, but my fiancé got a flight and really enjoyed the offerings. He liked the coffee stout the best. The food was excellent and they give you a lot of it for the price. We started with pretzels and the smoked Gouda sauce. If I could bottle that smoked Gouda sauce and take it back to Kansas with me I would. For my dinner, I ordered the black bean burger with cole slaw. It was the best black bean burger I have ever eaten. The slaw was good too. The dill in it reminded me of traditional Russian salads. My fiancé had the pastrami melt and really enjoyed it. His potato salad also had a Russian taste to it. Beer, great food, and flavors that reminded us of our time abroad made this an excellent dinner. I highly recommend this place.
(5)Alex T.
Stopped into this brewery after a ten hour car ride and was happy to find delicious beer brewed right on the premises. I had the flight and enjoyed each one I sampled. The Poutine was filling and delicious as well. If Brian happens to be your bartender you are destined for a good experience !
(5)Chris L.
We stopped in at 4:30 Sat for an early dinner. Seated quickly and drinks were received in short order. We chose the beer garden which is nice but not a lot of airflow. Had the pretzel app and as others have said - that cheese is CRACK!! Mmmmm smoked gouda be so gooood. I wish they would market it. Moving on.... my wife had the fish & chips and I had the steak frites. She enjoyed the Mahi Mahi and thought the IPA battering was nice and didn't cover the taste of the fish. I thought the aioli needed a little more punch but that's just me. The hanger steak I was served (med rare) was done perfectly. Two minor complaints - the menu online lists a chili truffle butter (which is what I was looking forward to). What they served was a basil garlic something. Basil was VERY forward and had to be scraped off. Aside from that it was worth the $20 in my opinion. Also instead of spring salad I received a kale salad. Kale is gross and should be reserved for rabbits and gerbils only. It would be wrong to criticize without tasting so I did - yup, made for rabbits and gerbils. I did eat the peaches off the top though. In the end it didn't matter as we both left with doggy boxes. Both dishes came with some dang tasty fries. I had the AHA IPA - it's very hoppy and a nice break from yellow beer. Total cost for 1app, 2 mains and 2 beers = very reasonable $55. Food = 4.25 Atmosphere = 4 Cleanliness = 4 Comfort = 3* *Hey boss upstairs - the beer garden could use some seat cushions or something......

Visiting Omaha for the summer and mailed away for the Omaha Brewery passport before I left CO. After trying all 8 of the Breweries, Benson was by far our favorite!! Great beer, food, and atmosphere! I had the Benson Blonde and the Out of Town Brown. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family planning to visit Omaha.

This was my first time at Benson Brewery and I loved it! When I think of a brewery I don't necessarily think of a classy restaurant that serves delicious food in addition to their beers but Benson Brewery delivered just that! Ok don't cringe when I tell you that I didn't order a craft beer but instead a bloody mary... It goes to say if a brewery can also make a wonderful selection of tasty cocktails that they are top notch! The bloody mary was the perfect mix of flavorful and spicy. My husband ordered two beers and enjoyed both of them. For my entree I ordered the Smoked Chicken and it was delicious. The plate contained a unique mixture of flavors between the chicken, broccoli rabe, root vegetable mash and the balsamic onions that all seemed to work together perfectly. The restaurant itself is very nice and modern. There did seem to be a shortage on seating so I suggest making a reservation for the weekend. Overall a fantastic brewery located in Benson!

Wonderful craft brews and food in lovely downtown Benson. Their IPAs are crisp and hoppy.

I honestly can't say enough good things about Benson Brewery. I fell in love with this place the first time being here. So I'm not new to Benson by any means, but this is literally one of two places I just never walked in for some odd reason. I broke that trend the other night and brought a friend to have him try some local brews. So Mark was the bartender this night that I finally decided to stop in, and he is part of the reason I want to keep coming back. I felt like I knew him after only a couple minutes and even felt like I knew a couple other guys at the bar. I've never had that happen anywhere before except maybe one other bar that I will nto mention in this review (it's near Midtown by the way). He was extremely helpful and friendly, asked us what kind of beer we usually drink, and had great suggestions. So I tried their "Waves of Wheat" American wheat beer first. I'm a huge wheat beer fan and they've always been my favorites, especially Boulevard. People laugh because it's so mainstream, but there's a reason Boulevard became so popular and sells so much of it....But that's for another time.....Benson Brewery's wheat beer is now the second beer to tie my love for Boulevard. My other being from a local brewery also. It was such a fantastic beer I'm very surprised I haven't seen their stuff around the Metro. The second beer I tried was their stout (I forget the name!) but it was also very good. One of the best coffee cream stouts I've ever had. The food. Oh. My. God. I didn't expect that much from them to be honest. I already ate dinner before I went but my friend ordered the bison brewery burger and fries. I will honestly say this is probably one of the greatest burgers I've ever tasted. I only had a small bite but it blew 99% of the others I've had out of the water, save for EK Peppermill in Valentine, and the Black Iron Grill in Mound City, MO. The fries were absolutely perfect with no need for sauce or ketchup but their "Bastard Sauce" made it even more delectible. I will be coming back soon for sure to try all the rest of their brews!

My friend and I ended up here last night following a recommendation from another friend. I've been in Omaha for less than a year, and haven't really ventured into Benson, but I'm glad this place was my first introduction to the neighborhoo. We only had beer, so that is all I am going to be able to review, and while their food selections looked and smelled delicious, I am going to defer to other reviewers for that. When we got there and told the bartender that it was our first time there, he asked us our favorite beers and immediately poured us two different samples each - two different IPA's. We then sampled some other beers. And some other beers. By the time we decided what we wanted, we had sampled half the beers on the menu. For a smaller brewery in a smaller city, they had some of the tastiest and most interesting beers I've ever had. The Krarha-T (a spiced, Chai-like dark beer) was superb and would be delicious on a cold winter's eve. Their IPA's were perfectly hoppy without being too bitter. They even had a beer that my mom would enjoy, and she HATES beer. Suffice it to say, this is a place that I will defintely frequent much more often in the future, and would even make me consider moving to Benson to make it my home bar.

We recently had some of the new menu items and it was actually very good! I say this because in the past we have went for the great beer selection and kind have been iffy on the food. Now I can honestly say they have a well rounded menu that everyone should go test out! Looking forward to some new hoppy beers though! Five thumbs up for bringing a unique brewery to Benson.

Time for a much needed review update of Benson Brewery! Last night's dinner varied greatly from our first experience during restaurant week - in a good way - the whole meal was was absolutely stellar. Kudos to the new chef! We started off with beer flights again (how could you not?) And while I wish I could tell you which varieties I thoroughly enjoyed this time, it was almost more fun to leave the picking in the hands of our very capable server. Three appetizers started off the feasting... Peppadew Poppers with chevre | prosciutto | chilies, Craft Sausage Platter with house-made mustard and pickled carrots, and the star of the show... White Rabbit IPA Jarred Olives with spent grain bread | select local cheese (more pickled carrots and onions!) While the poppers were prepared slight differently than last time, they were no less intriguing. But the olives really shone. Something about beer and olives maybe? Or was it the crusty bread? The charred jalapeno with goat cheese? Who cares?! It was so, so good. The entree I decided on - with a bit of guidance - was Steak Frites, with its sweet sweet Dunkel jus and pan roasted Nebraska hanger steak, cooked a perfectly medium rare. Oh yeah, there were also some amazingly crispy yet fluffy house frites and an over-easy egg too. Joy. Ultimately a pretty fantastic meal that I'm hoping to repeat soon.

I LOVE their French Kiss saison and Kahra-T English mild. Flights are worth the try. If you enjoy trying local brews, I'd recommend Benson Brewery for a visit. The food menu was typical pub-fare with a sort of gourmet twist. I didn't try any of the entrees but touches like green tomato-bacon jam on a burger sound wonderful to me. They have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options as well, if you're so inclined. I had the poutine as a snack. Although I'm a bit of a poutine snob (it's a French Canadian bar food consisting of fries covered in cheese curds and gravy), it hit the spot as a snack-while-drinking kind of thing. I'd definitely visit again.

Stopped by here for lunch the other day while we were on our way through town. As vegans we naturally thought the was no way we would be able to eat, but to our surprise Benson Brewery offered a vegan menu. The vibe of the place is very cool, but above that the service wasn't excellent. The food was above average for pub food. The buffalo wings were made from Seitan tossed in either a hot Buffalo sauce or a sweet BBQ sauce. Both come with vegan ranch. The star of the show however was the fried tofu sandwich. The texture of the tofu and the crush and it's flavor profile closely resembled a McFish or whatever that sandwich was called. It was amazing how accurate the flavors were and how the chef was able to match the texture of fried fish from whatever they put the fish through. Overall, a quite enjoyable meal and definitely a recommended stop for anyone in Omaha or traveling through.

Very good beer! Great taste and very fresh! Food is very good and enjoyable. Staff is very friendly and knowledgable - really enjoy going here! Love the front outdoor area.

Hands down the best brewery in the Omaha area! I would give them 10 stars if I could. The beer is fantastic! I'm not a stout fan but Brewers duet is THE BEST EVER! If you are not a beer fan they have great signature cocktails. If you are a hot chocolate fan I recommend the chocolate thunder! Give them a try you will not be disappointed!

Not a bad spot. We stopped by during the afternoon lull, so the service was quick and easy. The beer (Dubbel for me) was pretty good, and the fish tacos were solid as well. The ambiance was nice, and while the overhead cooling ducts were dripping on my friends and I, we enjoyed the layout and atmosphere. A solid joint, would return here to try another beer.

In dreams it had been uncomplicated, clear. I surveyed the tall prairie grasses that gracefully bent the way of the gentle breeze. When i am suddenly greeted by the sound of a nearby brook. I imagine trout navigating the untroubled waters as they negotiate the persistent ebb and flow. As i journey towards the sound i stop, turn, and she was there. I had seen her once before. Her face, always muted in my dreams as if my inept kiss would never reach her cheek. I had the buffalo burger, medium rare, topped with a fried egg. I contribute a 5/5 star rating on the basis that they have an excellent beer selection and top all of their burgers with fried pickles

The manager reached out to us regarding our last visit and sent us a gift card - I promised we would return and re-review. We actually returned twice. I think three stars is a fair blend of the three experiences, especially given how bad our prior visit was. The first time back was five stars - the manager was there running air traffic control and the place was really humming on a very busy Friday night. Food, mixed drinks, and service were all great. If the place were like that all the time, we'd visit often. The second time - a recent taco tuesday for food and drinks - was right in between. Tacos were generous portions and tasted okay; chips and guacamole seemed a bit skimpy. The margarita was a sugary mess and none of the beers in my flight did much for me (go down the street to Infusion). Service was fine but not nearly as attentive as the first time back. One thing that strikes me is how busy this place is each time I pass by. Either we have had a couple unlucky experiences, or others are more forgiving. It is clear that people like the premise here (so do I), and I suspect in our case that we simply did a better job with our menu selections on that Friday night. Still, I think the place needs to fire better on a few cylinders.

On our small 1-block walking tour of Benson, we decided to step into Benson Brewery to see what it was all about. A very modern and hip space, featuring a mix of angles and natural wood-grain, including some very attractive (though a little solid-on-the-butt) custom barstools. As we were in early afternoon on a warm spring day, we opted to sit at the bar and sample the beer. The menu offered eight house brews (available in flights of four, so we ordered two and got the whole gamut) as well as a couple of guest taps (I believe Funkwerks and another. I thought the beer selection was alright, a solid selection of small brewery offerings, though nothing that I felt was setting the world on fire. The one oddball was the Karha-T Mild Ale, which was a very heavily spiced beer -- I think it would probably be pretty tasty around the holidays, but it did feel out-of-place on my palate in late April. The Brewer's Duet was also a very bold coffee beer, though I wouldn't see myself drinking more than one at once. Despite my above criticisms on a couple of the beers, I would definitely come back to the Benson Brewery and have more beers, and I'd also like to get a crack at their food selection. This is the fourth of a series of ~13 reviews about a weekend getaway in Omaha.

We were originally under the impression that this place was strictly a bar, but when we stopped by recently, were pleased to find out it is a restaurant as well. We were lucky enough to coincidentally be there on their first birthday, so they had some special celebrations going on. We got a couple of appetizers - bread with beer cheese dip and Swedish meatballs both of which were amazing! Our waitress talked us into the Swedish meatballs, which we were very thankful for. The drinks were pretty good, I got the honey nut brown, which was a beer cocktail, something I haven't sampled too much of in the past, I appreciated the uniqueness. It's a great space and another wonderful addition to the Benson area.

Beer was exceptional. Food was done pleasantly well. The people care about their product and everyone who works here is so chill, but still down to serve you with respect. Very friendly and very tasty. That blond with them glasses doh!

I had heard a lot of good things about Benson Brewery so for some dinner & drinks, some friends and I stopped by here to check things out on Sunday. It was a really nice day out so we asked about sitting out on the back patio which the bartender handed us some menus and gave us an impression a server would be right with us. We waited about 15 or so minutes and hadn't seen anyone come outside, a couple other people sitting at tables either eating or waiting for food, and then dirty glasses on the other tables. Being a little confused, wondering if maybe we had to go up to the bar to order food if it was more of a "fast casual" service, me and my friends went up to the bar to ask if we had to order food there which the bartender did apologize and took our beer orders and had a server come bring our drinks out to us and to take our meal order. The beer was just okay. They didn't really have anything on their menu that stood out that I wanted to try and the one that I did end up going with did not leave me impressed. None of the spices/flavors blended very well. I tried to order the Spicy Mediterranean Sausage which they were out of and ended up going with the Pork Belly Sandwich. The sandwich was alright. Didn't really stand out to me flavor wise but the pork was tender. They did seem to have some good vegan/veggie options on the menu which is always a plus. One friend ordered the vegan wings & a side of fries and the other friend ordered the fish tacos. The price was rather steep for the amount/quality of the food. Service was more so on the poor side for it being on the rather lighter side of the amount of people in there. Our waitress did check on us in the middle of our meal and then towards the end when my friend said he was probably going to order another beer and she stated she'd return in a couple minutes. Which didn't happen for another 15 minutes or so and so by that time we were all just ready for our check. Overall I was not very impressed and would probably take my $$ elsewhere for better beer & food.

Ate at the brewery at 2 PM on a Sunday and it was actually quite busy. Service and food were both outstanding. Menu is somewhat limited. Being able to sample their brew prior to ordering was nice.

Benson Brewery has vastly improved since opening. The food is very good. I had the pork tenderloin sandwich and found it to be great. The beer has also improved. They currently have coffee stout on nitro and Berliner Weisse which is remarkably close to a white wine. The staff is very cordial and accommodating and listens. The quality of staff and items deserves five stars but I can't give it five stars because management is neglecting some simple errors which must be fixed. 1) check what you are charged for and review with staff. Chances are you have been charged too much in part because how the tax is calculated. Omaha has a 9.68 percent tax so you need to keep this in mind when checking your charges and inform staff immediately of the error. This happened to me three times at this place. 2) Freshness is key. The food is clean cut but be wary of signs of something else. The establishment had basket of lime, lemon and oranges but the oranges were partly pealed. Hit them on such issues. Also, the lights were overdue for a cleaning.

This is not my first foray into Benson Brewery, but we went here for dinner last night whilst in Benson. My wife and I came because we knew the vegan options included more than just a wilted kale salad. That and the fact I could get a pint was the clincher. After walking the strip down and back we settled in to some stools and sat at the bar. there was a CU alumni event and it was poppin'. We got settled and I started with the IPA an the Mrs. got a Prairie Fire, a pre-prohibition style cocktail that was Fireball whiskey (can't go wrong, can you?), blonde ale and grenadine. I took my first sip and remembered what I had learned last time. The beer needs work to satisfy my palate. I am not implying that I am a beer snob, but the IBU's need to be kicked up quite a bit or the hop choice needs to be altered. It was just off. The wifey's cocktqil was just ok. The cinnamon was offset by the beer which was slightly sweetened by the grenadine. For this style of drink I couldn't have hoped for more. It was like in olden times when you would get a 'sidecar' to accompany your beer. Drinks aside, let's get to the reason for being here. I did order my second IPA by the time the kitchen was able to produce our food which is fine because we had time and I know they were very busy. I had the fried tofu sandwich. That was the extent that I read the menu because my wife was ordering one of the other two items on the vegan part of the menu besides getting a side as an entree. What I didn't realize and it really doesn't matter is that I got what is essentially a vegan fish sandwich. It was phenomenal! I couldn't believe it. Here I was having a faux fish sandwich and I actually liked it! The tofu flaked like a cod. The reason for amazement is that I really never liked fish sandwiches. The slaw was great and the tartar was good as well. I got a side of Bastard sauce strictly for the name and it is great on fries. Basically just a ghost pepper aoli that will be veganized soon enough with a simple swap. The Mrs. got the Vegan burger and the taste was great. Lentil based patties are nothing new to me and I felt as the little bites she allowed me to have were either soft edge pieces or it could stand to have been blackened on the flattop. A Blackened (spiced) vegan burger that has char on it would be stellar. Fries were great frites. TL:DR; Beer is better than Empyrian, cocktails are fun, and food is surprising. WTL:DR; go and eat/drink here

My partner and I have been to this place several times since we first visited and every time it's magnificent. The service is friendly, the food and drink spectacular with special thumbs up for the Poutine!!! The only recommendation I have is to perhaps paint the place a little lower light-reflective color and switch the covers on the lights close to the brewing tanks to something colored rather than clear as that area is right next to the kitchen and the clear glass is covered with a grease haze. Impossible to keep completely clear with the kitchen so close. Just a suggestion. This is our new favorite place in Omaha! WELL DONE!

We paid our first visit on a Friday night, and they were very busy. Waited a long time someone to take our drink order...almost left, just when waitress stopped. In the end, we were glad we stayed, as the food was excellent. We shared wings and the tenderloin bsandwich, and they were both outstanding. The spiced brown beer was very good, as well. They offered for the beer to be on the house, which was a nice gesture. If you are patient, stick around for the food.
(4)Matt M.
MUCH better last night. The beers were available, the food was good & our server was great (Manda). The sausage appetizer and the poutine were very good. My bison meatloaf was excellent. The fish & chips was the only item I found to not be so great - the fish was not crisp enough and it lacked flavor. However the tarter sauce with it was very good and the fries were cooked perfect. I would definitely return.

We were out and about this past Saturday and ended up in Benson. What a great find. We live quite a distance (locally speaking) from the northern part of Omaha so we had never really been up there. Holy cow, we got to the brewery about dinner time so we ordered and didn't really expect what we got. This is absolutely THE BEST bar food anywhere in Omaha. Exquisitely prepared with an outstanding presentation the food is fabulous. The decor is also very modern and comfortable. Excellent choice.

I was here back in July but I'm going to Omaha again next month, and thinking about my upcoming trip now reminded me that I had a particularly exquisite dining experience last time I was in town so I just felt the need to tell someone, or everyone about it. So listen, my mom and I came here only because we had initially planned on going to a different brewery nearby (with really good reviews on yelp) but there was a long wait and we ain't had time for dat. Our waiter was really nice, we were the only ones seated on the patio but he never forgot about us or our beer. We both drink a lot of beer in our spare time so naturally we were inclined to try some of the more interesting beers on their menu, of which they gotalot. We both tried 5 or 6 different beers, and though I cannot remember which ones they were with it being 3 months later and all, I know we both quite liked everything we drank. I do remember what I ate (strangely?) I had the jerk chicken with magical rice and it was soooo friggin good. I don't remember what my mom ate but she liked whatever it was too. It did take a little while to pay once we asked for the check but after 6 beers I don't think we cared much. I'll definitely be visiting again soon.

worst food and service I've had in a long time.we ordered mussels some were under cooked and cold. then my wife's burger was under cooked , my steak tasted like charcoal. also before I was even half way done .I was ask if I wanted dessert or my check. this was our second try .not again

Tried sliders, poppers and the fries. All just ok. Service not the greatest either. Sat at bar with friend and apparently they weren't sure who was helping us. So nobody did. Lol On an up note, the Chai beer is awesome (if you like chai). Lol
(2)Jeffrey M.
I have been here three times so this review is based in all three visits. We come here for the vegan food options as they change often and are pretty yummy. Last visit I really enjoyed the new vegan burger, the green tomato jam and arugula were a nice combo. I would recommend using less arugula as it is a little overpowering. We love the fries here. Another positive is this is a good place for little kids, we were not the only family dining here early on Saturday night. They have really good IPA here, good enough for me to take growler of it home.
(4)Josh C.
I still enjoy Benson Brewery and will go back, but my most recent visit left a not-entirely pleasant taste in my mouth (figuratively). We were given the option of sitting on the back patio but never warned the menu out there is severely limited, and were denied the option to order one specific item off the full menu. Then one of our entrées was wrong and showed up much later than the rest of the meal. Our waitress routinely handled our glasses by the top and stuck her fingers down into the dirty glasses on other tables for carrying--two disgustingly unsanitary pet peeves of mine--and once even smoked and ate in full view, maybe two tables away. The beer was great, though, and the food is still good, so I'll hope this experience was an outlier.
(3)Stephen F.
One of our favorite places to go in Benson. The service has always been friendly. Everyone seems to know the food and drink menu very well. If you are looking for a place with outside seating they have a good side full service beer garden.
(4)Patrick G.
Really nice deck upstairs. I attended a meeting here recently in the upstairs deck area. The food was excellent. It would be perfect for having a private meeting for maybe 20 people or so. During our meeting, we also heard a little about how the place started and got to meet one of the owners. He seemed really passionate about the place and Benson area in general. He obviously also is a huge beer lover, which is exactly what you want in an owner of brewery.
(4)soylentgreen s.
I really want to like this place more. They have a great space, the staff is very friendly, and the food is pretty good. The problem is their beer. It isn't very good, and they are a brewery, after all. I have probably had their beers a half dozen times now, and while they aren't terrible, they aren't that good, either. This, coupled with the fact that their prices are kind of on the high end per pint, makes it tough to justify drinking there when there are other places within a block that serve better craft beers at lower prices.
(3)Diana D.
I hesitate to give 4 or 5, but ultimately the ambiance, beer selection and service wins and I will give BB a 5 -- its location, decor and front garage door that opens to the outside is perfect for a brewery! I have tried a few beer flights and I was pretty impressed with what was served, especially in Omaha - I am from Wisconsin originially, so I wasn't impressed with the small microbrew scene when I moved here four years ago, but that is clearly changing with this place! The food is pretty good, had a few recommendable items, but I thought the tacos were lacking some. Regardless, this is an excellent place to go drink beer, especially since the weather turned awesome!!! :D
(5)Breanne S.
While I like beer and will drink it occasionally, I don't consider myself qualified to critique it, so this review will be food-focused. I ordered one of the light beers and it was good (I said I wasn't a beer critic, so that's all I have to say about it). We ordered fries as an appetizer. Not great, but not bad either. My main beef was with the burger. It was supposed to have a green tomato relish on it, but unfortunately I could barely taste it - I think both because they were chintzy with it and because it didn't have much flavor. The side salad I ordered with it had a mustard vinagraitte on it, and boy, was it mustard-y. I could tell that it was made from scratch, so I appreciated that. BUT, if you really love intense mustard flavor, you would probably think it was delicious. Service was good; no complaints there.
(3)E J.
This place just keeps getting better with each visit. We recently got engaged and my significant other proposed right here! The waitress and manager made the night extra special and we really appreciated that! This will always be one of my favorites places to return to. Thank you for the awesome customer service!!!!!!
(5)Phoebe R.
Totally bums me out to write this but I've been here at least half a dozen times since last fall and every time the service is spotty and the food is meh. The last time, in October, we waited at a table for 40 minutes for a basket of fries and a pulled pork sandwich. There was one other table with people, two bartenders, a host, three kitchen staff and three waiters. They were all watching the Huskers game. Sigh.
(1)Rachel S.
I literally fell in love in this restaurant. The food is great, the service was great, beverage selection delicious and I can't wait to go back again. I suggest calling ahead or perhaps making a reservation if your group is greater than 4.
(5)Laura G.
My husband and and I came here on a Friday night. It was packed! We shared a bench with another group on the back patio. It was not a problem! It kinda reminded me of a couple places I had visited in Germany. We had the vegan hot wings. My husband wasn't as excited to eat them as I was, but after one bite, devoured them. I loved this place. Very hip and fun, yet relaxing and could keep to yourself if you want.
(5)Rusty S.
Writing this review as I sit here in the restaurant. Service is not prime. Took 12 minutes to be greeted and about an equal amount of time to actually receive my drinks after ordering. Beer is okay. IPA is mild, spiced English beer is interesting flavor. Holy moley screwed up the appetizer too, took 20 minutes to get my appetizer, IPA Jalapeño Hummus, wife says it is good, I think bread flavor overpowers hummus flavor. Received food 50 minutes after ordering, fish and chips were pretty good, use Mahi Mahi. Pork belly sandwich was flavorful very small though. All things considered, its not too bad, but considering the number of choices in Omaha probably won't be back.
(2)Rachel L.
I am only reviewing for the 1 IPA and the 1 pale ale they had on tap and a duck taco. I went in after eating dinner elsewhere which was a mistake. They had an awesome menu of comfort foods. Despite the fact I was stuffed it was taco Tuesday and with options like duck, chicken, pulled pork, and steak for $2 each I had to try. I decided to order 1 duck taco. It was in a flour tortilla, with pico de gallo and lime creme fraise. The duck was very tender which is hard because it goes dry quickly. Both beers were great and the location was super trendy and attracted an eclectic crowd.
(4)Katrina D.
We put in a reservation and when we came back we were told that they did not take reservations after a certain time. They proceeded to tell us that it would be another hour if we wanted to wait. The guy who was the host was rude and provided false information.

I spent a lot of time eating and drinking up and down the coast of CA for over a decade. I love good beer and good eats. Now that I'm back in my hometown, (Omaha,) I enjoy restaurants who love their craft. Benson Brewery is one of those places. I've read the mixed reviews on this page and after several visits at random hours, Benson Brewery gets as many stars as I'm allowed to give publicly. Don't let others cloud your judgement of this place until you try it for yourself. My girlfriend is vegan and I am vegetarian, so we usually apologize up front for being "that table" when we go out to eat. The entire staff here gets it, they know their selection and are total foodies. There is something for everyone on the menu. They were slammed tonight and Elliot greeted us with his charming self, seated us and even took time on a packed Saturday night to explain their brews. He knows his beer. Rachel cranked out vegan dishes to accommodate us even though it was cutting it close to the cutoff time. The other servers running food and drinks to tables nearby, smiled and even checked in on us as they passed by. Super friendly, super delicious and worth a visit. We had a beer sampler, vegan wings and a vegan burger. NOM NOM NOM. By the way, if you're a chai lover- try the chai beer. Such a great flavor! As we left and wandered down the adorable street (Benson is cute,) I realized my neck was freezing because I forgot my beloved scarf in the booth! I turned to make my way back to the brewery and guess who was running behind me with my scarf in hand? Elliot. What a guy! A Saturday night filled with people and he runs an abandoned scarf out the door to find it's rightful owner. We will be back, my scarf and I... and the girlfriend too. ;)

Benson brewery is the perfect blend of local comfort and excellent service. The food, spirits and staff are all kind and courteous. Be sure to stop here after a long day at work or when celebrating with family. It's a gem.

So the early bird might get the worm ... but that worm isn't always as tasty as the one the rest of us get when we finally get around to it. Metaphorically, of course. I mean, unless you like worms. Case in point: I'd actually actively avoided BB because I heard mixed reviews on the food after it first opened. But apparently a few months (and, I'm told, a possible menu takeover by Block 16?) is all it needed to ramp up to deliciousness. Because holy cow, you guys. I can't speak for everything on the menu, but the Farm Burger alone is enough to make me want to go back week after week after lip-smacking week. It's a perfectly-cooked patty (I went with the Wagyu beef, but bison is also an option), topped with tart apple-bacon jam, smoky mozzarella and the perfect crunch from two fried house pickles. So. Good. It's also a super chill place with a nice design and really friendly staff. The one letdown of my night was that they were out of hard cider ... at 6:45 p.m. on a Friday, no less. So the Chai-bite (a mix of their own Karha-T and hard cider) was out. Womp. Womp.

Had dinner last night. The server was right on top of everything; making great suggestions not only for beer but also for food. Everything we ate was delicious especially the fish tacos and I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a great meal of craft beer and comfort food.

Redemption! I was here a few months ago, when they had just started and had only two beers on tap and served quinoa as a side. That had been a disaster for our entire group. We tried them again, last week and were pleasantly surprised! In spite of the teeming crowds (kinda) we were seated quickly and the waters brought out instantly. The Om-aha IPA and the Dubbel are outstanding. Their Blonde is an all round winner. We tried the Fish tacos and the Chipotle Aioli Chicken sandwich which was pretty good. Our server, Joe, was a true gentleman. The decor (which blurred out from the average service, last time) was NY trendy. And I have to say, they are closet Feminists (and I support that!), in that they have 2 restrooms for women and 1 for men! (Physiologically, women have smaller bladders and because they have shorter and straight urethras', they have to go more frequently). Anyways. 5 stars. Goin back soon!
(5)Josh R.
Good stout. Good fish and chips. I can't wait to go back.

This was a stop on a benson bar tour that my friend and I did on a Saturday afternoon. The bartender greeted us right away, was funny, and helpful. We decided to share two flights of their beers, bartenders choice. There were a few that were a little tough to swallow but most were really good. My favorite part was the vegan wings. I have been a vegetarian for 8 years now and I'm not going to lie....I miss wings!! These were delicious and definitely will keep me coming back.

Nothing like driving all the way from Lincoln, on a hottter than Satans hoof day, after a hell week of work, then wedging my self into a parallel parking space, only to be told, "sorry we dont serve lunch". Note to self, allways.....always go to Upstream.

Great beers and cocktails. Highly recommend the Berry Sparkler to drink and the bacon jam blue burger. Super friendly staff and bartenders. Not to mention its in one of my favorite neighborhoods.

My boyfriend and I are both vegetarian. We sometimes struggle to find good, hearty vegetarian/vegan food in Omaha, but last night at Benson Brewery we were blown away by the prefixe vegan New Years Eve menu. The courses included beer pairings, which seemed almost above and beyond for the price ($35 a head). All the beers were great, and we learned some things about all the beers from our server, who was friendly and accommodating. We even requested the non-vegan dessert, as we both eat dairy and eggs, and they were more than happy to do so. The food was all cooked to perfection, and we never once had to season anything. Our first course was a salad. We aren't normally big salad fans, but this one had great flavors and really kept us interested. It had a nice beer vinaigrette, crunchy candied walnuts and tart cranberries. Next was the vegan cassoulet, with house-made seitan and vegan sausage, It was served rustic-style on a slate platter and was paired with a nice grain bread. Very hearty, which was important on a cold evening like last night! The highlight of our meal was the pot pie - it was beefy, peppery, and full of huge chunks of seitan and root veggies. The puff pastry on top was perfect. We were filling up by this point but trekked through just to finish this plate. Our dessert was a perfect end note to the meal - a nice light panna cotta, served with strawberry and a crunchy brittle. We also received champagne with dessert, to which we toasted the new year and a great meal. For any vegans or vegetarians in Omaha, I would definitely recommend trying out Benson Brewery's new vegan/vegetarian items. It is clear they know what non-meat eaters are craving in a satisfying meal!

First of all, this place is great inside. The design and ambiance is great. Location is fantastic. Only downside is that Benson's parking sucks. But that's a Benson problem, not the brewery's. The service was great...our waitress was so nice, attentive, and shared a pretty good laugh with my friend and I. Staff was knowledgeable and wonderful. The beer was fun to sample. I come from a pretty extensive beer business background, and was proud of the little biz for having such an array to sample. I would definitely say that every kind of craft beer drinker could find something to sip on here. Will def go back to try more and drink a unique local brew. I think it will become a great spot to bring out-of-towners to show them we're more than just corn and cattle. The food was fine. I had the burger and made the mistake of ordering it medium-well. I think if I did the good ol' medium-rare, it would have been fantastic. Flavor was good. I also had the beer cheese soup which was pretty good. The croutons in it were not good, but the soup itself, was good. Creamy and not bitter at all. My friend had the sausage and she sadly wasn't all that impressed, although it looked great. Will keep going back to try new things. I think they're just settling in and in time, will be 5-star worthy. Keep at it BB!

I have been in here a couple of times to grab a quick beer and sampled the wings during their soft opening. I loved the wings and could not wait to get back here. I live in the neighborhood and walked by the place many times over their initial open and upon seeing the place so busy I just would just say to myself 'I will wait until it slows down'. Finally the other night I was going to a show next door at The (402) and noticed a decent amount of bar seats open (all the tables were full as usual). So I ponied up to the bar and ordered a Captain and Coke. One of the people working there said something like "that's a first" to which the other bartender replied "I serve them all the time". Maybe the other guy was the brewmaster-I don't know. It was odd. Anyway I didn't order the wings as I wanted something more substantial for a meal this evening and decided to go with a burger. So, like with most new eateries, it seems that your traditional food is taken and a spin or extra stuff is added to it like carrot jam or something (made that up I think)-and that is not my thing. I am a basic, simple and pretty dull guy when it comes to food. I want it to be quality-but I rarely enjoy anything "extra". So the burgers, meatloaf's and basically all the food here have those fancy little twists. More power to the chef's and people that dig that-not me. So, I was going to go in for the dive-and try to simplify my meal. I was a bit worried as I felt like I might have got a bit of snoot from the one dude-but I have seen my bartender around the area and knew he would probably take my request as long as there was not an edict from the chef or management. So I asked for my basic cheeseburger and there was not an issue. I wasn't asked what my side item would be, but they rightly chose fries. This is an open kitchen and you can see everything going on very well from the bar. A hard working staff for sure. I was excited to see my fries made with such care and tossed-and sure enough when they came out they were exactly how I like them. Heavy with oils, not too crispy, not coated, just a good honest and substantial moist fry. The burger that game up was good also. Nice moist bun, beef was of quality and cooked well if just a touch on the dry side-but they are usually cooking these to be topped with other things that just cheese and ketchup. A good medium sized burger that was satisfying. I love the decor in the room and the garage door patio going onto Maple Street was the first of it's kind in the area and looks to be a inspiring some others to expand outside a little more in the area. Benson Brewery is a must try if you are in the area-especially if you are more brave about your food than I am.

This place made me start a yelp account to leave a review. Very nice staff/bartender and the food was fantastic. Pleasant vibe, people, and great food. Took a chance on the maple street melt, and it was amazing.
(5)Raffy K.
Cool vibe very non pretentious employees and patrons and most important of all very good craft beer brewed on premises. Will be back.

This is my new favorite place to go to in Benson! The food is absolutely fantastic and very fresh and I love all of their different cocktails. I'm not kidding when I say the food is fantastic ... this is home to THE BEST BURGER I have EVER eaten. EVER. Bar none. Absolutely orgasmic. That's the best way I can describe it. Their "Majinola Farm Wagyn Burger" is so delectable with their tart apple bacon jam, (aka, crack) and the perfectly fried pickle on top of some gooey fresh mozzarella ... it was so good that I had TWO! The bison version of this burger was my favorite, but the beef burger cooked medium as per the chef's suggestion was also spot on. It's really hard to top bison meat in my book. My favorite cocktail is the "Benson Tom Collins", made with lavender infused gin, lemon syrup and soda. Absolutely fantastic. I'd come here just for this drink before I discovered the burger : ) The Benson Brewery has also done something that no other place, nor bar has done before ... made me want to try a beer! Today I tried the "Bancreagie Peated Scotch Ale," which had a hoppy start, but the ending result was more smokey. Towards the bottom of the glass, it was smokey all the way through, like a scotch ... which is probably why I liked it so much : ) All in all, this place has a great atmosphere, great, helpful and friendly staff and I can't say enough about their food and drinks. I've always been greeted warmly and have always felt like everyone appreciated my business and really wanted to know my opinion of their food. They're doing something great here and they really understand flavors and how things are supposed to meld together to taste truly fantastic. The prices are reasonable and on a weeknight it's not too crowded. I've never been able to stop by on a weekend, but I'm sure it's probably pretty busy due to their "come in and let us get you some great beer and food!" - vibe. The food truly speaks for itself and I'm already planning my next stop here for another burger. It was absolutely out of this world! Welcome to Benson, Benson Brewery! We love that you're here!

I hate to give a local brewery two stars, but I truly have had better experiences at other microbreweries that also served food. My husband and I always order a sampler flight at every brewery we visited. We had to order 2 samplers to get to 8 of the 9 beers (we skipped the Dirty Blonde). The only ones I enjoyed were the Alt-er Ego, Adopted Amber Ale, and the White Rabbit IPA. My husband also liked the Maple St. Porter and Rich Uncle's Dunkel (they were good, but I can "eat" beer if you know what I mean). The Belgium Harvest Hefe, Karha-T, and the 8th beer that I believe was seasonal (I don't see on their online menu) were not very good and completely forgettable. If I go back, I know there are a few solid brews that I could get a pint of and be happy, so that's a good thing. We order the Bread Basket and the Sausage Platter to snack on, and both were delicious. What disappointed me was that the Sausage Platter was a trio of rabbit, pheasant, and boar sausages, which we only learned AFTER we at them and inquired because 1) it doesn't say in the menu and 2) the server failed to tell us what was what when it was served to us. We'd order both items again, but we learned the lesson to ask about the items because it seems like they may have interesting ingredients/origins that you might not know about otherwise. We enjoyed ourselves and wouldn't rule out going back, but we still have a lot of places in the Omaha area to try before we run back here.

While in town on business I went looking for some good local beer (as I'm wont to do). I was completely underwhelmed by the much talked about local place that starts with a U so I used Untappd to find other options. Sadly I only got to try half of the beers on their menu, as they were out of literally half of them: there were only 5 available for tasting. Lucky for me, the 4 I tried were quite tasty! I was not disappointed with what I tried. As for food: the bartender recommended the smoked pork sammich and again, I was not disappointed. It wasn't so overstuffed that wound up covered in sauce, the bread stood up to the mess and it was GOOD. I was left plotting how to fit a growler into my carryon without TSA finding out.....

My husband (H) and I went here for dinner tonight. The atmosphere is great, love the decor (minus those giant plastic blob things all over the place) and vibe. I liked the beer selection, as did H. I enjoyed the amber and H enjoyed the maple one. The food was a-ok. We started off with the poutine and it was delicious. The cheese curds were what MADE IT! H got the cheeseburger and it just wasn't that fantastic. The idea of onion strings and fried pickles were what sold it, but it wasn't executed well....the meat was not flavorful and we didn't like the texture. I got the fish tacos. I have been on the hunt for Omaha's greatest fish tacos and sadly...these were not it. I'm a little embarrassed to say this, but Cheeseburger in Paradise had the best Best BEST fish tacos in the world and then they changed their menu and now they are nasty. No other fish taco has lived up to them and I feel like no other will (I'VE TRIED SO MANY). But Benson Brewery put a chipotle aoli on theirs which was the best part. It was really delicious. BLOCK 16 is taking over Benson Brewery's menu and I CANNOT WAIT TO COME BACK FOR THAT. Please Benson Brewery Gods...if you read this...put the duck BLT on the menu. I got it once at Block 16 it was dreamy. H requests that you put the pork belly BLT on there. :)

I just moved to Benson this summer and I'm so excited that this place is so close to me! The atmosphere is great, the beer is awesome, and the food is fantastic! I've been for dinner more times than I can count. The fries are so good. Just the right amount of crispness. I think my favorite meal is the fish tacos, or *was* the fish tacos. I guess they were taken off the menu the last time I was there. If they ever bring them back, the chipotle drizzle on top is spicy and delicious. It's great if you put the chipotle drizzle right on your fries, too. Other than missing the fish tacos, I don't think I have one bad thing to say about Benson Brewery. They get it right every time. This place is great for date night, girl's night, or pretty much any night!
(5)Chris M.
Innovation is the key word here. They innovate in their beer and in their food. Spent grain pancakes, truffle fries, that sort of thing. If you like that, this is your place in Omaha. Great neighborhood as well. I recommend their brunches and beermosas.
(5)Danny M.
Burger was pretty good. A little rarer than I expected (asked for medium), but it tasted good. Opted for the beef rather than bison. Fries were really good too. Tried the Amber Ale they brew, and it was good.

I like this place. My husband and I went on a Wednesday night and the place was pretty full. The two top tables are very close together, so you will be hearing your neighbors conversation. I don't have a problem with this, except I felt a little pressure to be more interesting :) But if you like something a little more private, this isn't the place for you. We started out with the cornbread with chilis and wild honey. This dish wanted to be good, but the cornbread was very dry and crumbly and the chili flavor was lost in the amount of honey we had to dip it in to make it moist. We each had the hamburger for our entrees. Mine was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was delicious. I'm not a big fan of pickles, but the apple-bacon jam and pickle chips made for sweet and salty perfection. My bun kind of fell apart, but that could be because I cut the burger in half. My husband ordered his medium well, but it came out closer to medium. If you liked well-done burgers this isn't the place for you (and really what is wrong with you?). I had the Adopted Amber Ale which was a nice blend not too malty, not too hoppy. I would go back for the burger for sure.

We came to this bar last night for some late night drinks and appetizers and we were not disappointed. Our waitress, Briana, was great! Very attentive and knew a lot about the beer selection so all our questions we answered. I ordered the Karha-T beer because the Chai T (KarhaT and hard cider) was not available since they ran out of cider. Its an interesting blend and I really liked it, you could taste the chai but it wasn't overpowering. We also ordered some fries and the slider trip - the beef sliders were great but I wasn't a huge fan of the pork belly slider. It was just a little bland and a really large slab of meat for a slider. Who complains about too much meat on a burger? Apparently this girl. Overall I really enjoy this place and plan on coming back - great atmosphere and surprisingly there was no wait for a table, which always makes me happy.
(4)Ray A.
Great beer, great food, great patio and great service. The buffalo burgers are incredible and their brunch is better and cheaper than Lot 2's down the street. The beer menu is always changing but thankfully the Dirty Blonde has been a mainstay. Can't wait to hang out for a movie on Sunday Funday (night)!
(5)Audrey C.
I like it! They serve 16 beers on tap. Two made in house, their brewmaster was from ODell in Colorado. Tried the Blonde and Amber, and apparently they will have more house brews soon. Atmosphere is nice, similar to Lot 2/ Krug lay out wise. Only ordered an appetizer of 'Trotter Tots" they were delicious, but small. Other dishes looked great, but we had dinner plans elseware. I think I will be back to try an entree, and to sample more beers. More healthy competition for the Benson area food and bar scene.
(4)Katelyn K.
Very impressed with this bar! We showed up to fill our growler on a Friday afternoon, we didn't know they weren't open yet and they still decided to give us samples and help us out. Very good customer service. The coffee beer was amazing!
(5)Alex S.
Great service, great selection of food and beverages. Glad to have found this gem in Benson. When your looking for a new place to eat, head over to BensonBrewery and it will become a regular occurrence!
(5)Eric R.
(5)Stephanie P.
(5)Maggie C.

(4)Brad W.

(3)Steve S.
(2)Kyle T.
A mercifully edited and consistently good beer list and one of the best burgers in town. Terrific patio on the roof. What's not to like? This is our go-to spot in Benson. We often think about hitting other places but always wind up here.
(5)Treesa G.
(5)Jeffrey L.
Good beer, attentive service, and I even received appreciation for coming in. Another top-notch eatery in Benson. I wanted an exceptional burger, and I came to the right place. The Brewer's Burger is really awesome. Support your local businesses.
(5)Patrick T.
(5)Jonathan C.
(4)Robert L.

Nice place, they need to sort out their extractors though - smoky kitchen. Blonde beer was good, wheat was fair, pale ale delightful and the IPA standard.

(5)Colin B.

Stopped into this brewery after a ten hour car ride and was happy to find delicious beer brewed right on the premises. I had the flight and enjoyed each one I sampled. The Poutine was filling and delicious as well. If Brian happens to be your bartender you are destined for a good experience !

Very good beer! Great taste and very fresh! Food is very good and enjoyable. Staff is very friendly and knowledgable - really enjoy going here! Love the front outdoor area.

(5)Christopher P.
(4)John H.
(3)Scott R.
(4)Diana D.
(5)Christine H.

(5)Daniel K.
Beer was exceptional. Food was done pleasantly well. The people care about their product and everyone who works here is so chill, but still down to serve you with respect. Very friendly and very tasty. That blond with them glasses doh!

WELL DONE!

Lol

This place just keeps getting better with each visit. We recently got engaged and my significant other proposed right here! The waitress and manager made the night extra special and we really appreciated that! This will always be one of my favorites places to return to. Thank you for the awesome customer service!!!!!!

Sigh.

(4)Rachel L.

We will be back, my scarf and I... and the girlfriend too. ;)

The food was GREAT but the services was slow.

Great ambiance, really good beer and a refreshingly inventive menu. Probably would have gone with 4 stars but our food came out a little on the cold side (Collard greens are not very appetizing when cold).

(4)Cassie Z.

(3)Katie B.
(4)Kailey D.

The food was GREAT but the services was slow.
