Best thing about this place is the location, nothing more. We went because we had a groupon which was a good incentive. I've heard the roof is great especially during home football games. Our burgers were dry, fries cold. Beer= average. Had a fabulous waitress! We know it's a bar & expected bar food, but there's much better bar food in town. This is a tradition in Lincoln, so it's always fun to experience with many alumni, but don't bother if the Huskers are away.

One of my top 10 bars, and I've been all over the world. Love it on top, and the bartender I met was so fun to talk to and provided some great tips on places to see in town since I'm a newbie here! Thanks Liz!! My son will be attending University of Nebraska for next 4 uears, so I will be back here every chance I get!

We went on a Monday night, so it was pretty dead. Service was pretty good, food was alright, and the drinks were...mediocre. However, for the price, I think it was worth it. The worst part about the place was having to eat and drink with The Bachelor playing on the tvs.

My friends and I have given Barry's shot after shot after shot, and each time we've been disappointed. The reason we keep returning is because Barry's has good food (those wings!), great happy hour prices, and the best outdoor space downtown. The thing that brings the rating (way) down is the service. Two visits ago, my friends and I sat for nearly 20 minutes before a waitress approached us on the patio. There were several other full tables around us, so she had to being trying her *hardest* to not see us. Thankfully, the manager on duty recognized the terrible service as well and compensated us with $20 gift certificates. When we went back to redeem our gift certificates the experience was much better. The wait staff was still sub-par, but our bartender was great! When two friends and I visited this past Monday, we arrived at about 6:30. We asked the waitress downstairs (who was sitting at the bar chatting) if we could go upstairs for dinner and drinks. She said yes and gave us directions to the stairs. When we got upstairs there was no one up there. No one. As in - no servers, no bartender, no music, nothing. We waited 10 minutes to see if perhaps she was on her way up and had just got caught up with other customers downstairs, but she never showed. I ended up calling the restaurant from my cell to ask if the patio was open, being told "yes", and having to explain that it didn't look like it was open as we were sent up there yet hadn't received service yet. When we finally got service, it was slow. The waitress who made the mixup in the first place was the one who ended up serving us so she seemed nervous the whole time. (We were nice -- promise!) We were comped by the manager *again*. In the end we still tipped her 20% on the original bill (all 3 of us have been servers before and know the college struggle!), but had to leave some of it in CHANGE. Why? Because when I asked her for change for my $20 she came back with...a $20 bill. ::sigh:: I will probably go here as long as the weather is nice because I just love it upstairs, but I would LOVE to be able to give a 5 star review. Barry's, please stop letting me down!!

We came with a big group from our meeting so at least I didn't have to pay! If I'd had to pay for the non-existent service, the charred hockey puck of a hamburger and the weak ass wine, I would have been pissed! The highlight of the evening was a local radio station was handing out free March Madness t-shirts.

Yeah. Everything stated about the service here is true. There isn't any. My sever visited my table twice and brought the check before seeing if I wanted anything else. Half an hour with my card on the table another server goes to close me out and disappears with my credit card in the kitchen for 10 minutes. What the hell? What's more is two of the store managers were there chatting with staff and doing nothing about the dude sitting around with his card on the table. Not sure why I went in. It'll be my last visit. Do yourself a favor and avoid like the plague.

The food was mediocre, the service was horrible. Our waitress was obviously in college and had better things to do. She stopped by our table once , the food took 45 min to recieve and it was a struggle to get our check. ( She was busy chatting at the bar) Worst Service ever!. If you hate your job... find something you love doing!

Barry's is in the process of a remodel. I had been there before and found it to be average but wanted to try it again since it under new ownership. Despite the remodel, the main restaurant hasn't changed. My party went for lunch. The menu has changed and prices have increased which is too bad since the food is merely average. $11 for a BLT and fries, $9.50 for a pulled pork sandwich and fries. Our service was slow. We waited a full 30 minutes until our food came out which is difficult since we have a 1/2 hour lunch break. One in the party asked for a refill of iced tea and it came back with just tea, no ice. Overall, very average. If you liked Barry's before then by all means come back but if you were hoping for improvements from the new owners, best to move on. Our whole party was fairly disappointed. Perhaps the bar is better? Don't know.

Nebraska has the best fans in college football, but the worst of them go to Barry's. With Haymarket property at such a premium, you'd think someone would tear this place down and put in a real bar that caters to a clientele a bit older and more sophisticated than "I'm 19 years old and using my fake ID". This place has no decor, no food except some microwaved junk, bimbo waitresses, NO BATHROOMS ON THE NEW TOP FLOOR (WTF???), and no beer or alcohol selection. I asked for a gin and tonic thinking the pimply bar girl couldn't mess up two ingredients, and got a little gin and a lot of SODA water and ice in a plastic cup

Barry's has a bad wrap on here..since they've remodeled it's gone way uphill. Drinks are great, food is just what you would expect at a bar--not breathtaking but for sure tasty and comforting.

Terrible service. I was a waitress for years, I know it's not easy, but it's not as hard as they make it look. Holy crap. Came to Barry's for lunch today and it took ten minutes for the dumb blonde (real descriptive, considering the bimbos they hire, I know) to take our drink order. After ordering food, it took FORTY MINUTES to get our food, which was lukewarm. She messed up our tickets, our orders and our drinks. And $4?? For a half cup of beer?? Get your prices figured out, Barry's. I love the rooftop bar so I want to love this place, but the dumbass servers make me never want to come back. I would only come for drinks on a Friday or Saturday, when not in a hurry or desiring decent service.

Walking distance from my hotel and all I wanted was a drink and watch Monday night football. Worked out great and ordered the loaded sweet potato fries to accompany my drink so I wouldn't come off looking like a raging alcoholic. That said, service was friendly at the bar...and the place has a lot of big TV's.

We came here for after work beers when I was in town visiting. The place was pretty empty, but it was still early when we were there. The service was just fine and we had a good time.
