On a stopover in NE for work...Old C's is not what I remember from my days in Denver... The service although friendly was borderline horrible... We split the Chicago sampler app and both felt nauseous... did not stay for dinner...

For an after 10 pm restaurant that still serves food, was good for a burger and salad, though pizza and pasta is most of their menu. Service was o.k.; our waiter could have had a little more personality.

The hostess staff was not helpful and talked around us. They seated others before us. They were rude. The bathrooms were absolutely filthy. Three tables sat there waiting to be cleared for 20 minutes. No one would do it. In the meantime, the lobby was full of hungry patrons waiting to eat. Once we sat down, the food took way too long. Three pieces of silverware, a plate, and a cup were dirty. Our waitress tried hard considering the circumstances. It was really really bad and we will never go there again.

First of all, most of the Old Chicago restaurants I've been to have had a nice atmosphere, good service and good food. This review is based solely on the service I've received several times at this Old Chicago in Kearney, NE. I usually order the Sampler Platter when I'm passing through Kearney for take out. For some reason, every time I've ordered the Sampler Platter, I've been missing either the bread, some of the meats, or the veggies. When I told the girl who brought me my order about the missing bread, I had to wait another 5 minutes to receive it. In the meantime, I approached another girl at the counter about the veggies that were also missing. She point blank told me that it didn't come with veggies anymore. I should've checked the menu in front of her but I didn't. When I went home, I checked the menu for the Sampler Platter and noticed that I WAS supposed to receive veggies as well. I called the manager and nicely explained what happened. He will send a couple of vouchers. But when this happens almost every time I order this, there's something clearly wrong with the attention that staff gives to detail. They need to have a better balance of responsible adults and they need to talk with staff about paying attention to detail. I think they have too many college kids working there that don't really care about the establishment's reputation. As for the food, it's good, but great service will make the experience so much better. UPDATE: The manager forgot to send the vouchers. However, when I went in for a Sampler Platter again, he remembered and gave me a free Sampler Platter with everything in it. So I'm upping my star count from 1 to 3.

Entering the building, there was a musty smell. I expected the wonderful pizza smell to take over quickly, but it didn't. Once we were seated, I no longer noticed this smell. We had wonderful service...a friendly, attentive server. The food quality is always good at Old Chicago restaurants. I also had a side salad. The lettuce was mostly iceberg, but also had two cucumber slices, shredded carrots, almond accents, and chilled roasted tomatoes. I would have preferred fresh tomatoes. The salad bowl and even the salad bowl were chilled!

Stopping in Kearney around 10pm we were quite tired and hungry. We ordered to go so we could relax in our hotel room but being so hungry we had a few bites before we left the restaurant. My friend ordered the Chicken Pesto Pannini. It was super greasy which resulted in soggy bread and was almost impossible to hold on to. Menu mentioned thinly sliced chicken which differs from thin chicken and hardly non existent. My friend said the fries were good. My custom 8" Chicago style chicken , bacon and artichoke with light Alfredo was very good. Even though it was just a deep dish pizza and I wanted mushrooms that they had run out of, the artichokes ended up to be a better choice. Customer service was good even though I had to repeated my order of toppings 4 times. I do suggest she pay better attention. I say customer service was good because the young lady came to find me in the parking lot were we waited, because my friend had a dog, to tell me about the mushrooms. Two stars mainly for the soggy, hardly any chicken paninni and that the Chicago style 8" is not Chicago style just a deep dish pizza.

Have had a lot of good experiences since the newest manager has taken over. The beer is always good and the staff members are very friendly.

Stayed at the hotel across the street and this place is incredible! That spaghetti pie is so good, it must be illegal in some states.

This review is for the customer service: The food is great. Customer service is terrible. Seems like every time we come here the waitress is in a hurry to get us out. The last time we came here (literally the last time because we are never coming back to this old Chicago again) the waitress brought us our check about 15 min into our meal. Then she kept coming by to see if we had paid yet. But I was gonna order another drink and I wasn't even halfway done with my food. Then we noticed her talking to the hostess and they kept looking at us while they were talking. Just rude. The worst part was that it was only us and another couple and it was only 9 pm so it's not like they were in a rush to get others seated or wanting to close soon.

I love Old Chicago. Their pizza is my favorite. The one in Cheyenne, WY was our home for years. This one, in Kearney, however....was horrible. We simply got take out of a cheese pizza. The pizza was burnt and gross, the cheese was black it was so overcooked. The staff at the front was very scatterbrained and didn't seem to have any idea what was happening or how to package a take out order. We were on our way through on a move to a location where there is no Old Chicago, and I'm so disappointed that this is my last memory of the restaurant.

Hmm... in a pinch this place is okay. We were in town for work and chose Old Chicago for the sole reason that it was across the parking lot from where we were staying (Country Inn and Suites). Agree on some of the comments regarding spotty service. Biggest complaint was no refill on water even after I had asked twice. Also, chicken spinach avocado salad didn't have avocado on it, and we had to ask for it. Overall food is pretty average here. We got a medium thick crust pizza with red/green bell peppers and applewood chicken. Heavy on the cheese and light on the toppings, which made the pizza a little sad. Salads were pretty standard, but nothing special. Will come back if needed due to convenience, but this might not be my top choice.

DO NOT EAT HERE. I wish I could give them 1/3 a star. Service is terrible. Wait should have been 15minutes (20 at most) and it took an hour to PICK UP our food. They left my husbands dish sitting on the counter like the whole time while they cooked mine. He got the lasagna and the bottom was burnt and hard as a rock. I got the chicken mac and cheese and the chicken was dry. The garlic bread slice they gave us was LITERALLY hard as a rock and completely and utterly un edible. Please save your sanity, your money and your taste buds-keep driving.

Not worth the stop. Traveled through Kearney and stopped here for something decent that wasn't fast food. Calzones sucked! Order was wrong, almost no cheese, and loads of almost raw veggies. Yuck! How do you screw up a calzone?

Hubby loved their tall grass something beer, and although quite pricey they made a delicious spaghetti which we devoured and had made vegan by replacing the meat with artichoke hearts and sun dried tomatoes.

Terrible experience with Julia. My husband and I ordered and app and a pizza. Nothing too complicated. We watched as two tables who ordered after us got their food. The waitress came to tell us our app had been sitting under the warmer for a long time so she had them remake it. 10 minutes later she brings up appetizer plates but still not app. We finally got our app. I don't know if she just forgot to put it in and was making excuses or what. It was fresh and hot so that's a plus. She never offered to refill my husbands drink. He sat with an empty cup for close to twenty minutes. Our pizza was great. Just terrible service.

Worst pizza ever. Dough wasn't seasoned and it was undercooked. Sauce was overly sweet, too much of it on the pie, and watery. I expected to go here and have a consistent taste like other old Chicago restaurants. This is not the same and I would not go here.

I usually come here for a quick bite, drinks, or in need of wifi! The service is pretty good as the waiters and bartenders are attentive to their customer needs. I've had a few things from here and it hasn't disappointed. However, bring your appetite as the portions are big and it can put you to sleep afterwards. For those of you beer lovers, there is a wide selection of beers on tap. It kinda reminded me of 'Yard-House' in southern California as you can find many different beers. There is a happy hour beef special as well for a few domestic drafts. The wifi here is excellent! I'd come here for the drinks and wifi!

Awful service. Wrong pizza, no manager in sight, bathrooms filthy. Geoff is the best waiter there right now. Management has NO DIRECTION AT ALL.

Had a great Mediterranean salad and veggie pizza. Rainy was a great waitress.

Love that this place keeps it's kitchen open late! The Chicago Seven calzone is huge and was the perfect portion to split between two people. I appreciated that they served warm marinara on the side, so that I could take my time eating without it getting soggy. We had asked for no sausage and got it anyway, but it wasn't hard to just pick out and the calzone was tasty anyway. The real draw here is the beer selection though! I loved that they had plenty of local options on draft and that they offer smaller 10oz portions so that you can try a greater variety. My favorite was the Thunderhead honey wheat (from the brewery right down the road!). In lieu of dessert, I had the Empyrean "Dark Side" Vanilla Porter, which was practically a meal in itself, like a thick, rich piece of chocolate cake. Service was fast and friendly. All in all, a definite step up from the usual chain restaurant!

I generally like Old Chicago because of their excellent beer selection, which always includes local and regional favorites. This one sucks, though. We came in about 10 minutes before closing time, and the lazy ditzy blonde girl behind the bar wouldn't serve us and was VERY rude about it. I understand that she probably wanted to get out of there, but there was plenty of time for a beverage and there were probably 15 other patrons sitting around with FULL beers. I won't let this experience affect my overall opinion of Old Chicago, but I hope this girl learns about customer service before word gets out and this location suffers.

My personal favorites are.. Pepperoni rolls, Thai pie pizza, BBQ burger, double deckeroni pizza and oh my the CHEESECAKE. I also love that you can try so many different tap beer and the staff knows there beer. When we did have a problem with our food, the manager was very helpful and got us exactly what we wanted. Can't wait for our next trip to OC!
