I'd rather buy a piece of meat in Walmart. Had two orders. One was a burned steak and another was a uncooked cold rib. I will never come to here again.

On our road trip from Lincoln to North Platte, we discovered this gem in Kearney! The best salad bar ever! Not only an amazing selection of items but the salad bar was constantly replenished and kept clean. There are many salad bars everywhere but most do not have the selection or the delicious dressings offered at Alley Rose. My daughter had the tenderloin Carmella and I had their special clam strip diavolo. Both were delicious but I had to limit myself so I could enjoy more of the salad! All this great food and the wonderful staff made this stop our best "find".

I ate dinner here when I was in Kearney for work. Service was great. Our server was really on top it, which was especially impressive because we had 10 people in our party. We ordered he tequila shrimp as an appetizer just so that we could watch our server cook it(and set it on fire) right in front of us. The shrimp was pretty good. For such a nice place, I will say I was a little surprised that the salad included with the dinner is a saad bar. Kind of made it seem like sizzler or something. I ordered the scallops for my mail course. Was not terribly impressed with it. It was pretty good, I just kind of thought it would be better. If I could, I'd probably give this place a 3.5 stars.

We had dinner for my birthday. I had steak, it was not that great. My husband had prime rib, it was under cooked! Hubby said he has been there 3 times, and was disappointed every time. The food is overpriced and nothing spectacular. Will not go back.

Omg this place is hilarious. I've been to my share of "fine dining" restaurants back in my home state of California (Laguna Beach!) and this place is a joke. We ordered the cordon bleu, which tasted very bland and the veggies were gross. Many of their wines were wayyyyyy overpriced and sold only by the bottle. The salad bar was weird...never been to this type of restaurant in which I had to get my own salad. Prices were pretty ridiculous for the quality. Best part of all *sarcasm*, we got sick after eating here. The piano was ridiculous, the decor was tacky, the food was bad, prices were bad...not coming back here again.

We had dinner here and it was excellent the shrimp scampi and the prime rib were great everyone at our table enjoyed there dinner the service was excellent the drinks were good . I believe when you rate a restaurant you need to go at least 2 times and then if you don't like it then rate it from those experiences. All restaurants and people have bad days even the ones I go to all the time that we love. I will have to admit I don't like buffets but this salad bar was well kept good dinner . We have ate here many times .

We stopped in while on our drive through the entire state of NE. It was well worth it. When you walk in, you can choose to be seated in the dining room or the bar. We chose the bar area where the atmosphere was very relaxed and lively (with great music). Everyone who worked there was so friendly. I ordered a burger and my husband ordered a plain-jane steak, and both were to perfection. We also had the beef stew which was incredibly delicious--not a dish I usually take time to think about! If we didn't need to get back on the road, I would have stayed for a few beers. If I'm ever in Kearney again, I'll be at the Alleyrose!

My favorite happy hour in Kearney. The Martinis and hot toddies are always yummy and they have a great wine menu.

The good: Riley, who was our server. She is just one of those people who exudes sunshine. She was attentive, down to earth, fun, humorous, adorable - probably one of my favorite servers to date! If you eat there, ask to be seated with her. My family came in about 15 minutes before they closed and the kitchen was really nice and accommodating. The bad: The elderly woman who was the hostess. Maybe we caught her on an off day, but she seemed like she would rather set us on fire than seat us.

I was disappointed. Presentation was nice atmosphere was nice. Food was bad. Halfway through the stuffed mushroom appetizers I bit into one that tasted rotten. Then my vegetables tasted as if they were freezer burned. For the price I paid I would have expected better.

We had a group of 8-10. Most ordered the potato casseroles while 3 ordered flatiron steaks and prime rib. After a LONG wait, half received their orders. After a half hour more, the rest received our orders. ALL the meat orders were cold or barely warm, mashed potatoes were cold and like a brick and vegetables were overcooked, yet cold as well. When manager asked us how our meals were, we shared the above information. She apologized. When the bills arrived a small amount was deducted but certainly not enough to compensate for long wait and cold dishes. Will not be returning here again.

We were in Kearney last weekend to see the Sand Hill Crane migration and we wanted to eat at a local place in Kearney. Because we finished the night viewing at about 9:00 pm, we needed a place that was still open, yet had good reviews. We arrived at The Alley Rose about 9:30. We were seated immediately and there was one large group and two other tables still in the restaurant. We ordered drinks and one of our party went through the salad bar because he could not wait for the main course. Two of us ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu Melt and two others had variations of the Potato Casseroles. The waitress checked back several times to fill water glasses, and question if we wanted additional drinks, and then after about 40 minutes she stopped by twice to apologize for the time it was taking to get our food. By this time, we were the only ones still in the dining room and they had already taken down the salad bar. After nearly an hour, our food finally came and the waitress said they were going to adjust the bill because we had to wait so long for our food. The food was good, but not worth the wait. The kicker to the meal -- they only comped the one salad bar.

Alley Rose is a great place to sit and enjoy a quiet dinner in a relaxed upscale atmosphere! It is with out comparison my wife and my favorite! Crab Cakes are amazing and the wine selection is fantastic!

They served raw chicken to a pregnant woman, then the manager acted shocked and dismayed when we asked that they at least comp her meal. My wife and I got to watch each other eat dinner. Food: great, when properly cooked. Service: Attentive. Managerial common sense: lacking.

Great food, incredible Moscow mules an pleasant service. The bartenders were very knowledgable and made great drinks. We had the crab leg special and the Osso Bucco. Osso Bucco was huge and cooked great. Crab legs were wonderful, although we could have stuck with just one pound instead of the two my husband ordered! Will be back!

3 of our group in last eve for dinner. Really good filet steak I had. Friends had fish and chicken plates. All was very good. We had a shrimp app first and it was also very good. Had a flambe strawberry dessert after and, yes, it was extremely good and fun for us all. Great service. We ate in bar area. Everything just right. Thanks folks. Well done.

Very Classy service, and great little touches made this place a great place to grab a bite to eat while in town for a conference. The service was efficient without being over-bearing, and our server really payed attention to the details. It was a pleasant surprise to find a restaurant like this in the middle of Nebraska. The steaks were cooked to perfection, too! The whole place had a real feel of old-fashioned service and food.

This restaurant is a gem if you're in the Kearney area. The ambiance, service and food were excellent and why I'd recommend them to anyone traveling remotely close to Kearney.

This place is not a "gem". It is dated and needs serious renovation. I had the lunch buffet and it was nothing but canned steamed veggies and sandwhich stuff. I would find somewhere else to eat in Kearney.

Good potato casserole (BLT and Ranch), on tap beers, salad bar, two for dinner $ 18.00 plus tip. Totally fine casual meal in a comfortable atmosphere.

A great place to eat. We arrived around 9:30pm and were treated very well by the staff even though it was late. We ordered the shrimp app and it was prepared table side with skill and care and was delicious! The rest of the food was delicious and our wait person, Holly, was very engaging and professional. A thumps up for Alley Rose!!!

Surprising: I had always wondered what this place was like, but had never eaten there; thought it was a stuffy, pretentious place. I was wrong. We went for the lunch buffet, and I was pleased. We were made to feel welcomed, even though we weren't superbly dressed. The food was good, save for a potato theme for the day. :-) It made me wonder what the evening menu was like, but I did not get a chance to find out. Will go again if I get the chance.

The place is casual and cozy. The waitstaff is friendly. The food is pretty decent and they have one of the best happy hours in the area. They feature some great beers on tap and at great happy hour prices. The bar is cool, dark, cozy, and many great conversations can be shared there. A bonus, they feature Wifi so I can answer emails and catch a pint. Cheers
