Had lunch here 3/30. Photos attached of thin skinned egg roll and Empress Chicken. Years ago China Road was across the street, overlooked the flight line of Offutt. It was always a wait for weekend dinner. Now it's never busy when I drive by. I believe the former chef owner (David) had to move back to Hong Kong. The food used to be excellent, now i would say it is good. Service is still excellent, Try (pronounced "tree") is still the best waiter bar none. PS: I will attract cultured and artistic people to my home [in bed?], according to my fortune cookie.

I used to like China Road. The food and atmosphere was always good, and even though it was a bit pricier than your standard Chinese fare, what happened earlier this evening has shifted my thoughts on the matter in the complete opposite direction. For starters, it took 45 minutes to get our main courses. This, clearly despite a table of 6 sitting down after is and being served before us. When I asked why it took so long for our food, I was told the kitchen was swamped. This despite the dining room being less than half full. When we eventually got our food, it had gone cold; a clear indication that the food had been sitting there for a bit before we got it. The food itself was extremely salty. Too salty. Gag-inducing salty. I complained about this, but beyond the acknowledgment of the problem, nobody seemed to care. All I got were excuses. And even though I voiced my concern to the front desk, At the end of the day, I paid 54.50 to leave over 80% of my meal on the table. Suffice to say, I'll never be back. I *never* complain about food. Ever. One star isn't low enough. I feel insulted and betrayed by what I used to tell other people was an outstanding place to eat. What a shame.

Last time I ate here was two (2) years ago because the quality of the food had gone down. We decided to try again and get take out. I got a combo Pad Thai and my wife got the Pad Thai with tofu. Portion was large; however, very expensive. I was shocked. $30.00 dollars for the two entrees without anything else. Taste of both dishes was okay, but nothing special and definitely not worth the price. Will be some time before we try again.
Food: I had the hot pepper steak lunch special; tasted great! Not THE best Chinese food I have ever had, but the best in the Bellevue area. Atmosphere: Very clean and classy. Service: Great service!

We usually just get take out because of our young ones, but the times we have visited were excellent and they had options for all. Relative that was strict vegan was as happy as myself, who is not. The carry out orders were always ready when I got there. Extremely friendly staff and the food is excellent.

The food tastes good. We ordered the Orange Chicken, General Tsos chicken and the shrimp broccoli. The food tastes fresh, and it came quickly after ordering. The ambience is quiet and on a Thurs night, near empty. The not-so bad- The price is a bit more than other Chinese restaurants. Soup or little crispies are not included in the meal. I've had better food at other Chinese restaurants that do not cost as much. It's not a bad place. I wouldn't bring my kids back, simply because of the price and no kids menu. The price is what gets me.

Slightly pricey for a chinese lunch but the quality is worth it. For under 10 dollars, I had a delicious red curry chicken entree ( 7/10 on the spice scale). It had a perfect mix of veges and basil leaves. The chicken was very moist. Hot and sour soup tastes fresh. Service is prompt and food arrived in a timely manner. Yummmm!

I am not sure what happened to China Road but it has digressed significantly over the past 6 months. I used to be a regular at this location but in my last three visits the food has left a lot to be desired. Last night I ordered the usual shrimp fried rice without egg and it was HORRIBLE! I narrowed the taste down to the rice which based on texture seemed under cooked as it had a nutty brown rice taste and consistency. I am not sure if brown rice is even an option but if so, I never asked for it. Before returning to this location I will give them a few months to fire the cook OR change rice suppliers.

I love to stop at China Road when I'm in town, I love to get the Cashew Chicken and some Crab Rangoons. I have never had a problem with any of the staff, they are all very kind and friendly. The food is always good. Very glad when I get to stop by and enjoy some of the food.

I've been a fan of China Road for a couple of years now. I usually just get the takeout but their dining room is pretty nice with a good view. The service is very nice and the food is very quick for takeout. It's always done within 10-15 minutes. They just started a new Thai menu, which I haven't taken advantage of, but their Chinese food is very good. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for some good Chinese. They also earn extra props for not using MSG!

After searching for awesome chinese food for years we stumpled upon this gem! The staff is amazingly friend, the one guy knows our order when we walk in now (after only going twice!). Maybe we came on an off night, but it was terrible! I guess it was my mistake for ordering the pad Thai, but they're the ones who put it on the menu. I wish I was kidding when I said I got a giant clump of stuck together noodles with some meat placed around it. It wasn't mixed up... Because it was all clumped together. Really gross. When I tried to point it out to the waitress, she made it clear it wasn't her problem then never checked on us again. My husband's meal was alright but tasted heavily of ketchup. They didn't even offer to recook some noodles? Horrible service & worse food.

We've been fans of China Road since it opened originally near SAC Federal Credit Union...that is probably over 15 years? We usually order take-out now, but have enjoyed meals and the beautifully carved veggie plate decorations. The egg rolls are the best I've had in the area, fresh, crisp and not greasy with a light, not greasy crust. Beef and Broccoli is one of my favorites along with Sweet and Sour Chicken (served with pineapple, green peppers, onions and the traditional red sauce) and Chicken Fried Rice--which I'll order as a meal just about anytime! All the chicken has been white meat. The prices are a bit higher than other local Chinese restaurants, but they do not use MSG and it is the take-out birthday dinner of choice for our sons--all in their mid 20'a now. Their favorites are the Pupu Platter, General Tao's Chicken and Crab Rangoon. Service is quick and pleasant, and Togo food is hot and ready in about 15 minutes.

This is my go-to Chinese restaurant. The staff are friendly and attentive and, besides being delicious, the presentation of the food is lovely. The prices are a little higher than might be expected, but you get your money's worth. My favorite dishes at China Road are the crab rangoon and the Vegetarian's Paradise with steamed rice. They've started listing pad Thai as a daily special; that is the only item I would not recommend. I gave it a try once and was disappointed. (Stick to the Chinese food!) I stopped in for take-out on my last visit. It was cold and snowing like mad and they gave me a courtesy cup of hot tea to enjoy while I waited. That's the kind of thing that keeps me going back!

The mongolian beef was definitely not up to par. The dish did contain a lot of meat but there was hardly any flavor and I asked them to make it spicy which it was not. After looking for good restaurants to go to in Omaha on Yelp!, this looked like a good place to try out, especially considering that I knew how to get to the place. After seeing the amount of people inside, I thought service would naturally take awhile, but I was wrong! I had enough time to look at the menu, decide what I wanted, and gave my take-out order for Pepper Steak, Pork Lo Mein, and Cashew Chicken. After going to the nearby Target for a good 20 minutes or so, I came back and the food was ready. Everyone had been seated by this time, thankfully. The place looked like it was very full, but there were still available tables for anyone that would drop in later. So back to the food: delicious! I must have been so used to Panda Express that I forgot how good carefully prepared Chinese food can be. The pepper steak was fantastic, as were the chicken and pork dishes. One problem I had with quite a few Chinese restaurants in the Chicago area is that they prepare some of my favorite dishes with lots of oils, fried chicken, etc. The dishes I ordered from this restaurant contained fresh vegetables, not-so-oily sauce, and good quality meat. While I still don't know how the eat-in experience is, the decor did seem classy and the customers seemed to be having a good time.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in town. I lean towards the China Road Delicacy [chicken, beef and shrimp in a delicious brown sauce], and I can't get enough of their crab rangoon. Their staff is always friendly and it's always fast. Sitting on the deck is lovely, but I do agree the view isn't spectacular [though not a reflection on the restaurant, of course]. Oh! And they're right on top of refiling water! Which earns big points in my book.

I found the prices to be well within the acceptable range; two people to eat well for under $35.00 (with take-home) is great, in my opinion. Will definately go there again.

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Ate here for lunch on a Thursday in May. Last time I ate here was around 1993 when this place was in the southwest corner of the 36th & Hwy 370 intersection. So, 21 years later... I ordered the Garlic Chicken with fried rice, a Vegetable Egg Roll, and my entrée came with a soup option and I chose Egg Drop Soup. The Garlic Chicken was very good. Decent meat to vegetable ratio, nice selection of vegetables, and quality white meat chicken that did not taste reheated. Sauce was very flavorful. Fried rice was your average fried rice and nothing to get excited about. Vegetable egg roll was good. Egg Drop Soup was good, but then I'm not quite the Asian soup critic that some people are. Overall, food was very good both in taste and quality. I ordered hot tea to drink and they brought black tea. They didn't ask me what I wanted and I failed to specify. So, I hope they have green tea, but I'm really not sure. Service was friendly and attentive. This is a pricier Asian restaurant. That seems to rub some people the wrong way. There are a lot of diners that just cannot wrap their head around paying more then $6 for an entrée in an Asian restaurant. The ambiance and quality here make it worth it to me. They have cheaper prices at lunch time. Lunch entrées around about $8 to $9. Dinner entrées are $12 to $16 (with some exceptions). Always do your due diligence on restaurant prices BEFORE you dine and if you think Asian food and cheap are always synonymous then stick to your favorite strip mall Asian restaurant. Restaurant is clean and well-maintained
