Got the mile high ribeye and some campfire shrimp. The steak was very tender but it could have used some seasoning. The shrimp was tasty but not anything special. Service was good but I felt like I was being rushed out the door when the waiter brought my check with only half of the meal gone.

Newly opened. Nice place. I think it's a chain restaurant. Staff (everyone) was SUPER friendly and eager to please. We've been twice, once for Lunch and once for Dinner. For lunch we tried the Chicken Fried Steak Meal, the Husband said it was really good but it would be great if the gravy was homemade. He said it tasted like packaged but overall was good. I ordered the Chicken Tenders and Baked Potato. The tenders were good, juicy and fresh but really bland, I was glad they served them with Ranch for some flavor. The potato was also really under cooked and cold, my cheese wouldn't even melt. My son ordered the Kids Cheeseburger Meal and I was pleasantly surprised it was a fresh made burger (not the standard frozen patty you usually find for Kid's Meals)! It looked and tasted great! Overall it was good for lunch but could be better. We tried it again a few days later for Dinner. Dinner was fantastic! Again, super friendly staff (everyone)! It was busy, as it's a new place but we were seated right away with no wait. The Husband and I both ordered the 12 oz. Ancho Momma Ribeye (Cajun Butter topping) and it was FANTASTIC!!! It was a small steak but tasted great, tender and cooked to perfection! The baked potato was better than the one I was served at lunch, but still could use another 30 minutes in the oven. My son's Steak Tips were so tough we had to send them back. I thought he was exaggerating until I tried one, I couldn't even bite through it! They were happy to return it and apologetic. They quickly replaced it with a Grilled Cheese at my son's request. They even gave us a yummy Chocolate Cake slice to make up for the tough steak. Kind of pricey, but the food and staff are so wonderful it's worth the price! We'll def. go back!! I posted pics, check them out!

This place used to be a decent place to come and have a quick dinner on a lazy night. Nowadays it seems like they don't care. Cold dinner rolls served. When asked for warm ones the waitress went on defensive mode with the quickness "well once we run out of these ones we will make fresh ones." I passed on the cold bread. If I'm spending $28 on a steak I should be able to have some fresh rolls. I guess not here. Their non refillable drink cups have shrunk 1/3 of the size as they used to be. Didn't like something? Too bad manager will argue and say that's how things are. I'm happy to say this will be my last visit here. On to the food, price is okay for what you get. Flavors are good steaks are good and the chicken fried steak is pretty Damn good too.

July 12, 2013 Friday - dinner 6:00 PM 6 adults & 2 kids Atmosphere - 3 stars Food - 3 stars Service - 4 stars Background - One last dinner with the family before heading out in the morning. Atmosphere - Instant chain feel as soon as you walk in. The table that sat at us, nice they have a table that can handle eight, but it rocked and swayed like a kids toy in the park. This took away from the meal experience. Food Appetizer - Free rolls. The kids loved them. The first batch we got was twice as big as the second batch. Drinks - I had water, but I thought it was funny they considered Pabst as a American Premium beer. Last I checked it is one of the cheapest you can buy. My Main Course - The prime rib had the strangest rub, chili powder. As my wife said I told want my prime rib taste like chili. A high end cut that taste like a bowl of ground beef. The au jus was rocking back in force in that little cut as that table did not want to stay put with the kids eating at it. That table needs a serious repair. Dessert - None. Service - Waitress was nice but the food did not come out correctly from the kitchen for one of the people with us. Future - I doubt it, as we eat at the parents most of the time while visiting Minot.

It is a lot more satisfying to write a good review, but unfortunately this is not a good review. I just got back to my hotel after eating at this place. Service was very good and it shows they are training their floor staff well. The beer was also very good, served cold and fresh. Store lighting was good also. My salad however, the lettuce was spoiled. Luckily I could see the rotten lettuce before I ate it. If you ate at this place on September 20, 2014 and didn't feel to good afterward this may be the reason. My T-bone steak was probably the worst piece of meat I have ever eaten at a restaurant. No attempt of seasoning, When you put an average (and thin) steak on a grill with no attempt to cook it you end up with a tasteless flat grey steak. I could have gone to the Walmart next door and cooked it on my radiator and gotten something similar. Simply terrible. Management has made the decision to serve bad food putting their customers health and taste buds at risk. The great state of Montana should think about taking their name back. This place is perverting it.

Went in for lunch today. Staff was friendly and fairly attentive which is nice for Minot. I ordered the 8 Oz sirloin steak off the lunch menu. What I got was a charred hamburger patty smothered in sauce with 2 mushrooms. The "steak" was so dry even the sauce didn't make it moist enough to finish.

I didn't find anything to rave about here. I ordered medium rare prime rib and got medium. The mac and cheese was so so. Rolls were tasty. That's the best I can say

It was my wife and I's first time at Montanan Mike's last night and the experience was so-so. The decor at Montana Mike's is nice and very welcoming. However, the waitress that served us clearly wanted us to get in and out as soon as possible. She repeatedly came back asking for us to order without any chance to even look at the menu. The buns and butter were great, but the ribeye steak that I ordered was mediocre and not worth $20. A good 2/12 ounces were nothing but fat. The rest of the steak was average at best. As I was still finishing my dinner the waitress came and gave us the checks and tried to take the cards prior to our party even finishing our meal. The waitress was either overworked or under-trained. Regardless of the reason, it was a poor initial experience and the food did not redeem the steakhouse.

Montana Mike's has very good steaks... but now I know to order the steak one or two steps more done to achieve the perfect "medium" I like in a steak. Also, it seemed more seared/charred with a taste of charcoal which just ruins the taste for me... it was mild, but still something I will consider if I come back here. One of my other preferences for my steak is that it be seasoned as it is cooked; it makes a difference in the taste to me, versus me salting the steak after it has been served on the table. My dad and I shared the biggest Ribeye steak they had on the menu. They have a great deal that you can share a steak for something like $3.00 more to get your own side. We both chose the sauteed button mushrooms which were the most notable part of the whole meal... very flavorful and served in a generous sized portion! Service was good although I am not sure what the rush is for getting the plates off the table... I felt that my button mushrooms were nearly whisked away from me in mid-bite until I mentioned I was still working on it! I will try this establishment again to see if I get a better feel for the place. I rate a steakhouse based on two things--- the cut of meat they start with, and how it is cooked. Here, they seem to start with good cuts of meat but the preparation leaves more to be desired.

Steaks were dry and really had no taste and we had two different kinds of steak too. Fried shrimp was good. The rolls and butter were delicious. Overall it was an okay first-time experience. The restaraunt decor was neat and fun to look at, bathrooms were filthy and had no more toilet paper in both stalls and our waitress could've been a whole lot nicer.

Been twice & food has been really good. Onion rings were a little undercooked but other than that no complaints. Drinks are very good as well, staff friendly.

This place is very comfortable to settle into. The food looks great but just seems to be missing something for the pallet. I'd have to say that this by curb appeal alone is 4 star and from the look of the cuts of meat 5 star. All in all, the most disappointing restaurant around, but MOSTLY because it presents so many high expectations.

Montana mikes is now one of our favorite places to eat!! After being open awhile it seems like all the kinks have been worked out. The menu has occasional updates and changes. We have had excellent service by a very friendly staff!!

Love the atmosphere, love the food. If you're looking for a good steak in Minot, check out Montana Mike's. So far, I have tried (and would recommend) the campfire shrimp, onion rings, fried catfish, and the steaks. My mother ordered a filet mignon, well-done, and it arrived tender, plump, cooked all the way through. I was impressed. The catfish was delicious as well, and our salads were HUGE, sprinkled with a generous amount of cheese and bacon. I've seen a few reviews for this place saying it's expensive, but it's on par with other chain restaurants in town. Might come as a surprise to out-of-towners and those who don't often dine out, but I noticed it's cheaper than the other steakhouse in town for both food and drinks. :)
