The high rating is relative to alternatives in the area. (I have found none that come close.) In the heart of the historic downtown, with coffee (inspired by the little coffee houses of Seattle in the 80's), baked goods, and decent breakfast and lunch menus. Service for food can be slow, but the quality is quite good and the atmosphere easy to wait in. It is WAY better value than the fast food by the highway -- much better quality and more for your money. A good spot to take a few extra minutes to relax and enjoy. Decent espresso. Games and books to enjoy in a variety of comfortable corners. Note the very fun chess table.

Babb's is located right downtown and was easy to find. I had a French press carafe of the Dancing Goats coffee and a home made sausage/egg/cheese breakfast sandwich. The coffee and sandwich were absolutely delicious. The owner was extremely friendly and service was spot on. Next time I'm back in town, I will definitely be coming back. Do yourself a favor and skip the chain restaurants and buy local.

Try their raspberry muffins...trust me. Man oh man is this place cute. It's a chill little coffee house with plenty of space to relax and enjoy a nice cup of coffee. I was in town for work so I stopped by for a bit to catch up on emails and relax. I took the first bite of my muffin and made the "holy cow this is good" face, pretty sure someone saw me. Oh well. It really was! I have never had a muffin that wasn't dry all the way through but it's like they actually had a large portion of real fruit in the middle to keep it nice and flavorful. Half way through it I thought about ordering another flavor just to have more. I ordered a large marshmallow iced mocha. It was good, didn't taste much marshmallow, but it was still good coffee nonetheless. I love the atmosphere too. It's a hodgepodge of random furniture and art work which gives it a really cool small town vide. Nice big windows with lots of natural light and good wifi round out a fantastic experience. If I am ever back in town for work I will be making a stop by. I am almost sad that today is my last day.

I'm here to help move my cousin out of Jamestown. I have 4 days to waste while she works. I LOVE coffee and Starbucks is 90 miles away. What was I suppose to do? Out for a walk in this God forsaken town (albeit very cute with its old buildings), I come across this old bank building. I'm admiring all the details of the old style 1883 architecture and noticed there's a coffee shop inside. Have I just died and gone to heaven? Old building AND coffee, what more could I ask for? Well, let me tell you ... Babbs has made my stay here worth while. To this Cali girl the 50°-60° wheather is a bit chilly! I bundled up, grabbed a book and headed to Babbs. I order Sumatra coffee and a rasphberry cream cheese muffin, found a quite spot and settled in for 4hrs! Yes, 4 hours as there's nothing to do in this town. I read my devotion, , chatted with friend and family, read my book sipped in coffee and ate the most delicious muffin ever! The next day I had to try the pumpkin cream cheese muffin AND another rasphberry one (2 and I ate them both!). The next 4 days I had something to wake up to! I have throughly enjoyed their hospitality, coffee, muffins and atmosphere. I love this quaint old time feel coffee house, situated at the end of old town on main street and 1st st. A visit that will be well worth your time and your tummy and state buds will be fully satisfied. Thank you for allowing me to waste my days here at your exceptionally well organized friendly comfortable coffee shop.

In town for work, went and had coffee, nice place, good comfortable atmosphere. Coworker had hot chocolate and a scone. He enjoyed both, but the wait was a little long and they werent busy at the time. I got a large reg coffee (24 oz large) which was good, but it took longer for a plain coffee than it did for the hot chocolate and warmed scone. Hmmmm the offputting thing was a young man grabbing scones of a bakery tray and saran wrapping them with his bare hands. He may have washed them and they could be the most sterile on the planet, but still not my idea of how to handle food, Didn't have any food. You cant use a debt or credit for under 5 bucks here, so if you want just a coffee you better have cash otherwise you have to buy something else to make 5 bucks.

I was excited about the prospect of great coffee. Arrived at 12:45 pm on Sunday. Two staff present and I was theb only customer so had prompt service. Ordered chicken Caesar salad, 16 oz unflavored triple shot latte and pumpkin cheesecake. $24 The big gross was one cook who made herself a sandwich and ate it behind the counter (next to food prep area and in full view of customers). Her meal was drippy so there was lots of finger licking and even tooth picking. She then spent 60+ minutes chatting with friend over the counter and had a toothpick in her mouth most of the time. Latte was lukewarm. Milk not well steamed. Flavor was ok. Salad was a big disappointment. Not very big with brown lettuce. Chicken had good seasoning but was old. Dressing was tasty but was glad that I ordered it on the side as it included hard cheese grates. Found a pile of chopped onion in one corner. 4 toast slices accompanying salad but 3 had blackened grill matter on them. Cheesecake saved the meal. Crust was made with real butter and, although somewhat greasy, was not soggy. Pumpkin pie spiced filling had small chunks of unblended cream cheese but that assured authenticity. It was well baked but not dry. Delicate flavoring was yummy.

We were driving through town and pretty excited, based on the reviews and the look of the place. I did not catch the name of the girl behind the counter, but her customer service left much to be desired. She was unfriendly and seemed put out to be doing work of any kind. The cinnamon rolls were slapped on the plates and the cream cheese was far too thick and overbearing. The coffee was lukewarm, at best. I think I'll stick with Starbucks.

If you like Starbucks (i don't), you will like this place. It has character tho. A Space Needle in the corner and some comfortable chairs. Coffee was ok. Order the cinnamon roll topping on the side. They really like it.

This is for sure the best place in Jamestown for casual breakfast and lunch... and the only place in town I've found to get a decent Americano

Coffee is good but the service is HORRIBLE. Expect to be blamed by staff and management if your food or drink is made wrong. Nothing but poor attitude and worse management.

Used to go there, Coffee and food is good , Service , eeeeh , Not only could they never remember to put my coffee in a mug, I always had to stand right there and keep reminding them. But today , several costumers had problems with the wifi and asked the them if they could reset the router just to get a simple NO as an answer , especially since one of the girls that worked was connected to the wifi on her tabled and happily served the web while several customers packed up there laptops and left. Think I'm gonna stay away from Babb's Coffee House from now

We visited here while we were driving across the country after not finding any coffee for two days. We had the special of the day which was an iced caramel white mocha...it was super yummy and very welcome after a couple of days without. If we are in the area ever again, it will be our first stop!

We came here for a late breakfast. The atmosphere was pretty good as we came in an there were only a couple of people in the cafe. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with earl grey tea my sister ordered an asiago bagel, a scone, and a vanilla latte. The coffee was great! But the bagels and scone fell a bit flat. Both of our bagels were burned. My sister was disappointed because her entire bagel just tasted like burned cheese. Mine was less burned and, besides that, tasted pretty good. The service was ok, but a little disorganized. But Everything is pretty cheap so that was a plus. This would be a good place to get coffee, but don't come here looking for a filling breakfast. It is a coffee house. Maybe the other pastries are better but we weren't very impressed with what we got.

Very nice coffee house in Jamestown! Dare I say the *only* coffee house in Jamestown. Coffee is pretty good, better than, say Starbucks, but also depends a little on the barista. Some have a tendency to burn the coffee a little bit. Haven't had a dessert I didn't like, all of the cheesecakes are great. The sandwiches are really good too, I'd go for the Monorail if I were you...awesome! The soups I've had have all been good, too. Comfy sofas, good places to study, free wi-fi. Only complaint is that it's a little pricey. Give it a try!

I had a strawberry peach fruit smoothie and an iced rooibos tea. Both were awesome!
