Grand Panda is one my favorite places to eat in Grand Forks. The Mongolian grill is my favorite, there is a huge selection of vegetables and meats. The grill master uses water to gently steam the food so that the meat is fully cooked but the vegetables are still nice and crunchy. I read comments that the food tastes watery. I know exactly what you mean. Add a little soy sauce to your cooking mixture for a stronger flavor. The parking lot is pretty sad, but it is getting an upgrade even as I'm typing. I don't work for Panda but I do eat there roughly once a week. For $10 I can have a variety of foods and as much as I can eat.

My experience at this place in my two times was the same each time: a feeling of excitement after deciding to eat at a Chinese buffet, followed by shame of what I just ate and how much of it I ate. Even in the Mongolian grill option, each spice and oil I added had almost zero flavor and the food doesn't get cooked thoroughly by the Mongolian chef. The bottom line: when I'm hungry for Asian food I spend and extra few bucks and head to Shing Ya or Little Bangkok, for a much more satisfying yet healthier alternative.

The food is really good for the price. It's a buffet, so you can't expect much. It's your standard Chinese buffet fare. They water down the pop though which is the only thing I don't like about this place. I've gotten sick from eating here before as well as other people I know have too but we always go back eventually, it's the best buffet in town and it's a buffet so you kind of take that chance when you decide to eat at any buffet.

alright this is my fourth time going to Panda Mongolian Buffet since I moved here to Grand Forks in late April. I love Mongolian BBQ and that is the reason I go here. The food isn't that bad considering this is Grand Forks. The selection of food on the buffet table is pretty extensive, but keep in mind, this is the only chinese buffet here I have been to. They do have snow crab legs that always seem to disappear every time I am there. I went on a sunday and the total for Buffet and a coke came out to be $12 total. Service seems to be ok. The previous times I have gone, the waitstaff never came to refill my drink, but today the refilled me drink.

Definitely the best Chinese buffet in town, not that you have many to choose from... Skip the Mongolian grill, unless you like your dish to taste like it's had an entire tea kettle of water poured over it while it cooks, because it has. If you're looking for a great Mongolian grill, you're gonna have to go someplace else. Like, out of town. The hot buffet items are actually pretty good, and they have all the standard Chinese buffet fare: sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken/pork/shrimp, two soups, egg rolls, crab Rangoon, kid-pleasers like chicken nuggets, fries and pizza, and on, and on. You've been to a Chinese buffet before, so I don't need to go any further, right? There's also a cold bar with peel-and-eat shrimp, salad, jello, fruit, and sushi rolls. Stay far, far away from the sushi rolls. Not because they'll make you sick, but because they'll ruin the rest of your dinner with their funky taste. Seriously, yuck. They also have crab legs at dinner, but I never seem to get up there when there's a fresh batch out, and they're all gone by the time I go up for my next plate. Which is okay with me, because all the other food is good enough that I don't feel like I'm missing out. Of course, they have dessert, too. Points because they've always had my favorite Chinese dessert, the little coffee-flavored layer cake squares, with the funky-looking but yummy gelled topping. They also have the standard Chinese donuts and soft-serve. Don't miss the cooler case, too, for some cream pies cold desserts. Overall, not a fabulous place to eat, but if you're craving a Chinese buffet, Panda will do! Just be sure not to drive your low-rider, because you'll bottom out in the potholes throughout the parking lot...

Agree with others. This is a buffet. And the buffet is lukewarm, dried out, and rarely stocked. It's cheap, generic, deep fried "chinese" food. That's it. Wanna get stuffed for 9 bucks on deep fried stuff? You can do it here.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
