Würst Bier Hall Menu

Really cool place! Lots of different beers on tap and some interesting German fusion food. However, the execution was...well, ok so I ordered a local beer, some warm German potato salad and Pierogis and a lil side of kraut. The Pierogis were covered in some kind of Sriracha-like sauce and had potato and cheese on the inside. They couldn't have been homemade; they tasted like the frozen ones you buy at the grocery store. I had a Pierogi craving, so they almost sufficed, but I was disappointed to not have yummy homemade ones. :( The potato salad was strange, just red skin potatoes with no dressing. I'm not sure where the salad part was. I mixed in my kraut and added some mustard, which helped, but it was just confusing. I would give the food 2 stars, but I added a star for the beers and atmosphere. In the future, I would only drink here, as the food just isn't up to par.

I've been here a couple times now and, while the food is not quite authentic German, it is as close as you will get in Fargo - and good. So far, I have had the Jaegerschnitzel (my favorite German dish) and a cheeseburger. The Jaegerschnitzel seemed like it was old so I wasn't too happy with it. I will give it a try again before writing it off. The Cheeseburger, on the other hand, was excellent. It had a great beefy taste and the taste of the cheese came through as well, without the greasiness of other burgers I've had in the Fargo area. Right now, this is my favorite burger in Fargo. My group also got the pierogis as an appetizer. Very tasty. I will definitely be back.

Love the different sausages and prep style. I also love the German feel of the whole restaurant!

The place is great. The service was awesome. The pretzels were to die for. They let me sample some beer until I found one I liked. All around a great experience and we will be back. However, the HUGE, HARD bread rolls they serve with the brats/sausages, need to go. Too much bread and take away from the awesome meat.

Something's have changed. No trio available on the weekends. Toppings come in one container instead of in individual containers. Still amazing, but the changes are not improvements.

Contrary to the name, this is not the "wurst" bier hall in Fargo! This is my second time here on one of my visits to my home town. I almost feel like a regular (who just happens to live in San Diego)! Both visits included their pretzel with beer cheese dipping sauce. Amazing! Goes treat with the porter from Drekkers which is just down the street if you want to try more of their beers. Sausage selection is good and burgers are offered too. I had the banh mi sausage. A little lacking in true Vietnamese flavor , but what do you expect for a German establishment? Overall it wasn't too bad.. My sister had the kneffla(sp?) soup which she said was very good. Gets busy at lunch with the downtown crowd, so our 1:00 lunch time was perfect.

Outstanding beer selection, great wurst. Don't miss out, be sure not to skip dessert.

Friggin love this place. I've tried many different wursts, and my favorite so far is the bison one (I think it had pepper jack? I can't remember -- it was a bit spicy and had lots of cheese on it). The Weihenstephaner beer is delicious too if you're fan of hefs. Kinda has a banana-y flavor to it, but it's amazing. My wife and I go here at least once a month for a guaranteed good night out!

Great atmosphere, friendly service and tasty food - what more could you ask for in Fargo. We had the Bison cheddar wurst with onions, peppers and sauerkraut. The sausage was cheesy, juicy and flavorful. We also has the Elk jalapeño cheese wurst which was spicy! The buns were fresh baked and held up nicely to the substantial sausages and toppings. They also had a selection of mustards at the tables to top your sausages. For sides we had the poutine with mushroom gravy and fried cheese curds. This had great flavor but could have used a little more gravy, by the end it was gone and we still had fries remaining. We also had the Mac n cheese speatzle which was topped with breadcrumbs. The speatzle nicely held the cheese making for a good spoonful. They have root beer and lots of craft beers on tap. We had the ND sampler which was a good way to try some of the local brew without having to commit to any one pint.

The food was fantastic, but my first visit here left much to be desired. It took almost 2.5 to get our food and pay. I will go back with my wife but not with a group of friends. I was in a group of 12 and it was mid afternoon. We were able to seat ourselves right away as the restaurant and bar were not busy. Our server was very friendly and attentive, but it took 45 minutes to get our food after ordering when we had already been there for 20 minutes getting our drinks. My plate was the first to be brought out and the order was wrong. I ordered a sausage with a side of mac & cheese. I was served a plate of macaroni with just sausage(no bread or toppings) as a side. I informed the server and she kindly put in my correct order and left the plate at our table for someone to eat and no charge. One of my friends was also given an incorrect plate of food. When our checks were given to us I was still waiting for my original order of food. Out of 6 checks that were brought only 2 were correct, mine being one of them. My friend across from me, who only had a water and one appetizer, was even given an incorrect check. The server then spent the next 40 minutes trying to get the checks correct, coming back many, many times with reprinted, still incorrect checks. Even after coming back with pen and paper and retaking everyone's order to verify what they had. I was still waiting for my original order the server apologized and asked if I would like it in a to go box, I said yes. When my food was finally ready another server brought it to me on a plate and I had to ask again for it to go. In the end there were still incorrect checks and some people overpaid, but everyone was ready to go for being in there for almost 2.5 hours. Our server was very kind and courteous but she had an extremely difficult time having us pay for what we ordered. I felt bad for her and she even had someone helping her at the computer. It was not busy and there was no rush, plenty of other servers around too, although I wonder where the manager was. Many other customers came and went in a timely fashion while we patiently waited at our table. The food was delicious. The mac & cheese was amazing and so was the sausage. I tried some of my friend's poutine and it's as good as it sounds, fries with cheese curds and gravy poured over.

We came to this packed German style Beir hall in downtown fargo on a Saturday during Oktoberfest. Great casual industrial atmosphere and great service even with all the people. My husband had the schnitzel and I had the pretzel with beer cheese dip. The pretzel was amazing and went so so good with beer. There are many beers to choose from and you can even have your favorite beer in Das Boot, which we did and if you do remember the rules. 1. The boot can't touch the table until it's empty 2. Before and after you drink you much flick the glass with your finger 3. You must drink with the toe facing up 4. If you get splashed in the face you must drink again .... And there are more. There is no place like this in Fargo, what a great place to go with friends. They just need some polka music ;)

Love this place. They just added some new menu items. Remember, kids can eat there until 4pm I believe.

I don't like beer so they probably find me obnoxious but I eat here incessantly. I Love the food - the buns are great, the veggies are piled on, and its a pretty good deal - if you don't drink your paycheck away, the bill is way under $10. I had their schnitzel (I can,t believe it but I spelled that right) and was not overly impressed but the dogs/brats are top-notch.

I've been here a couple of times; once for lunch and once for dinner and I have to say that I'm a fan. It is the best German food in Fargo. I've been fortunate enough to sample the jaeger schnitzel and a cup of their root beer both times. The breading was crisp and perfectly browned; not greasy or oily. The cut of pork was moist, flavorful, and well-seasoned. I did find that I needed some extra salt and pepper, though, as I prefer my jaeger schnitzel to have a bit of a bite to it. The root beer was delicious and if I could get a growler of the stuff, I absolutely would. For now, I will have to be content to go there again with my friends and have great food.

This is the best wurst restaurant I've ever been to. It's very communal which could be good or bad depending on how social you're feeling. We were cornered by a man who told us his life story which was interesting but not ideal, I guess. The beer selection is awesome and presented very well. They made it easy for me to figure out what I wanted to order. We had the chicken apple wurst and the buffalo cheddar wurst with a side of sweet potato frites. All of it was fantastic. I would definitely go back to try more!

    (4)
  • Nisa T.

So so good! The sausages don't come on any old bun, they come on French bread! The bread was awesome, crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. I could talk about that bread for days. The combination of the sausage, bread, onions, and peppers makes for the perfect bite. I also ordered fries, and you get so many fries for the price you pay. Wurst gives you great food for a low price!

Awesome beer selection with detailed descriptions of flavors, IBU, and ABV. They let you sample beers before you choose one. I don't like how they have pre-set flight selections.. I wish I could pick my own beers for the flight. Ordered the pretzels off the late night menu and they were delicious. Great atmosphere and bartenders.

What a fun place. If you have kids in town to visit this would be a good place to help culture them. The group seating in the front is perfect for large groups. The very long bar has plenty of room for everyone else. The Decor is modern and trendy. Lots of steel I-beams make up bar area and larger group tables. All done very tastefully. Service here was genuine and upbeat. The pretzels are fried but are very good. Not something I would eat very often. But if your visiting or have kids with you this would be a good choice. Mustards are set about the place. Portions go a long way. The red cabbage was another winner. Made in house and done right. I prefer more of a vinegar base so It can be mixed with apple sauce. This was on the sweeter side with the apples mixed in. The owners may want to mix it up from time to time. Just for fun. If I lived in Fargo this would definitely be on the list.

Bacon flight. Seriously. If you have a bacon flight then we are off to a lovely start! In addition nearly very thing is gluten free, woot. Me and my new blogging friend split the bacon flight and the sweet potato fries amazing blue cheese dipping sauce. I ordered the elk sausage and the apple chicken sausage, sans buns, with all the fixings. Let me tell you, this was the perfect amount of food, AND it was less than $20! Happy lady. I didn't have any adult beverages but they had a lot of good beer on tap! Plus they have bingo (at least on Wednesday nights) which I wish I could've stayed for. Our server was also super nice albeit a bit awkward :) I will absolutely be returning for more meat next time I am in the area!

Yelp reviews brought me to this bar for a late lunch. I had the breaded Jager Schnitzel with braised red cabbage and spaetzle dumplings with mushroom gravy, $11.50. This meal was superb! I loved the breaded schnitzel; the breading was crunchy and the schnitzel was tender and very tasty. I ordered the Guinness for a drink because I had a long ways, yet to drive. I would not have been able to keep driving if I had ordered a Spaten Optimator, 7.5% alcohol by volume (a classic German "double bock" beer). The 3 soft Bavarian Pretzels, with haus beer cheese dip, were really great appetizers with the drinks, $5.00.

Killer food, Killer Beers, Killer Value. I had the Jagerschnitzel with Sweet Potato Fries and cooked red cabbage. The fries were nice and crispy, the pork was juicy but not real tender (could have used more gravy) but the kicker was the cabbage. That vinegar bite cut through all the richness of the fried pork. I also ordered a phillysteak cheese brat with everything because I'm crazy like that. It was nice and juicy, full of cheese, and actually tasted like a philly. BIG beer list, so get your drink on. Full of hipsters(terrible beards and colored sunglasses, really?) and cute waitstaff. If the seating was more comfortable, this would be an easy 5 Star rating.

Hands down the best place to eat and relax in Fargo, ND. Beer selection is amazing. Food is perfection, and consistent every time we go. I highly suggest their soft pretzels and bier cheese. My favorite meal is their cheeseburger. Best in town. If you haven't tried Würst add it to your must go list.

The food was totally awesome and our server matched that level of awesomeness. Attentive knowledgable and knew the German language or at least enough to know what she was serving and how to say it. Cool industrial atmosphere with clean bathrooms. Down side, it was freezing cold and out of a few different things and it was the beginning of the day. We will come back and recommend this place to others!

I have been to Wurst Bier Hall several times either for a few beers or for dinner and drinks. The beer menu is great, lots of good choices that rotate quite often. The food is pretty good. Although I tend to stick to the "Starters" portion of the menu, the few times I have tried an entree it's been tasty and well prepared. The pierogi is very good, as are the frites (including the Wurst poutine) and the Bavarian pretzel. All-in-all, the food has been pretty consistent and we've been pleased with what we ordered. While on the topic of consistency, the service at Wurst really lacks it. We've had servers that range from good to acceptable to just plain bad. One waitress brought us our beers, forgot which one was which (there were only two beers), and actually told us to "smell them" to figure out who's beer was who's. Unacceptable.

German-American food at it's finest. There is a wonderful variety of of tap beer, German and not German. A nice piece of downtown Fargo. I enjoy the jäger schnitzel and perogies. Staff is helpful with beer suggestions and food pairing. A delightful companion bar to Dempsey's. This Is Fargo.

Go with the kielbasa. And the mac and cheese is awesome as well. The staff is quite knowledgable about the large amount of craft beers they have on tap. Great food and great beer, what else do you need to know!

Firstly, the food is divine. I love how the chefs created a American twist on classic German style food. Very fun atmosphere- i love the large tables where you share with friends, family and complete strangers. Beer selection is great. Fun wait staff and the atmosphere is a great hang out place.

Quite to rowdy beer hall for a Monday night - this happening Downtown spot boasts a solid list of local and domestic craft beers from all over the country. The menu is so detailed and almost paints each beer as if they were a character in a romance novel. Nonetheless, it really creates a hankering for a beer. The staff was super sweet or should I say 'North Dakota Nice' and attentive. Though, we only settled for a couple beers and a their Bavarian pretzel bites, I can imagine a more extensive meal or drinking evening would be a breeze with the jovial servers and atmosphere. Speaking of Bavarian pretzels, they were perfectly soft on the inside and toasted to a delectable crisp on the outside. My Fargo Brewing Company German beer and pretzels made for a delightful German experience in Fargo, ND!

The gourmet wurst was fantastic. Loved the taste of the phillycheese steak sausage with a side of Spaetzle Mac and cheese. Portion size was not too large for lunch. The service was friendly and knowledgeable especially with the beers. Centrally located in downtown. Will definitely come back from L.A.

This is place is as close to a big city feel as you can get in Fargo. The ambiance is a mixture of hipster and business. Nearly all the local and regional beers are represented and the food is very representative of this area. The best thing on the menu though is undoubtedly their Bavarian Pretzel with Beer Cheese dip.

Super GREAT food; GREAT service! Interesting, unique menu. Beers galore! Definitely a keeper ... we'll be back. We tried the jager schnitzel & sausage flight (German, hot Italian, linguica). All were GREAT!

We stopped in late-night because we were looking for a good beer list and some good grub. The beer list did not disappoint -- we were impressed with its breadth and selection. Our waiter also knew a good amount about the beers, which is always a good sign. Food-wise, however, we were sorely disappointed. Note to the universe: the kitchen essentially shuts down after 11 p.m. When we arrived, it was almost midnight and were basically told we could not order any sausage-like anything and could only order things that could be deep fried or tossed in the oven. We settled for the bavarian pretzels with cheese sauce, which were very good. But we really wanted to try the wursts at the Wurst Bier Hall and were sad that we could not. Plus we were just hungry! Service-wise, our waiter did an OK job. He tried. But he was definitely hard to flag down and a bit on the slow side. I think that if we had come during the day it would have been a different experience. We'd come back I think, next time we are in Fargo. But we'd come earlier in the day so that we could order off the main menu.

Big fan of the food, beer, and overall atmosphere of this place. The sausages or brats are fantastic. Meat is even used from surrounding communities such as Casselton, ND. You can't go wrong with the warm pretzels especially with a group. They have a large selection of craft and domestic beers, and the staff seems more than happy to suggest something to your liking. I have yet to partake in the das boot, but it seems like a blast. Soon enough! I highly recommend this place if you're around downtown and looking for some great food, beer, and people watching! 5 stars!

I'll admit it, I'm a snob when it comes to German food and beer, having lived there for several years, so I was very skeptical about this place. But hey, I was wrong! I've been there several times and have been very pleased. They have a great beer selection and the food is good too. Where else are you going to find Wild-Boar bratwurst? The staff is friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is fun and the portions are big. The last time I was there I had the Jagerschnitzel with Spaetzle and it brought back fond memories of Germany. My only complaint, and the reason for 4 stars and not 5, were the pierogies. They were drenched in Sriracha. I love Sriracha but it doesn't belong on pierogies. I told my wife her Polish grandmother would have had a fit if she had seen that! Apart from that, I give the place two thumbs up.

  • Jilian S.

According to my coworkers, this is the best place to eat in town. I was excited they carried my favorite beer, lindemans framboise lambic. It is discouraging when you ask the server what their favorite item to eat is and they respond that they hate that question lol but she was still able to provide a recommendation for the jäger schnitzel which was great! I can't speak for it's German authenticity but I enjoyed it none the less. We also tried the perogis which were good but spicy! Which I did expect. They were seasoned with curry. My Philly cheesesteak was good but a little dry but good after some ketchup. Service was friendly and prompt. Will be back.

I am a big fan of Wurst Bier Hall! They have great food and a good craft beer selection! As many other reviewers suggest, you must start with the pretzels and beer cheese dip, they are fabulous! I also love the chicken cordon bleu, mac and cheese, and you really cant go wrong with any of the sausage options. The sweet potato fries with marshmallow dip was a pleasant surprise as well! One suggestion I do have for Wurst is to update their beer menu more often. I have been there a few times where they no longer have beers on the menu, and ones they do have are not listed, so it can be tough to know what to order unless you go up and look at them all. That's my only "complaint" though, otherwise this place is one of my favorites!

This place is awesome great beer and great atmosphere. Only thing that is lacking is the costumer service it seemed like all the bartenders and waitresses were a bit snobby and the sausage and food was a bit boring for the cost. But other than that it's a great place!

I've been here a couple of times now, and I've enjoyed it immensely every time! Being as I was raised on German food (thank you, Grandma!), I know a thing or two about good, German cooking, and these guys have done their research! I don't know where they got their recipes from, but they got it right! Before I get into their food, however, I'm going to spend just a little bit on their beer/bier selection. If you want to do "Das Boot", you sure can! If you want to stop and savor your beer, well, you can do that, too! JL Beers is widely considered to be the go-to place for craft beer here in Fargo/Moorhead, but these guys can certainly give them a run for their money! They have your traditional, German beers, ones from local microbreweries, traditional stand-bys... Odds are pretty good that they have something for whatever you might be in the mood for, and if you can't decide even after reading the notes following each beer, their staff is knowledgeable and can certainly recommend one for you. Now, for the real reason why you should try this place; the food! Wherever I go, if I find out that a city has a German restaurant it's a pretty sure bet I'm going there! Sadly, my grandmother passed away over a decade ago, so I'm always on the hunt for cooking that can come close to her's. Nothing ever will compare to her cooking, but these guys have come about as close as any I've found in my travels! Let's start with their Borscht Soup. Add a dollop of sour cream, and it's like I'm eating my grandmother's homemade borscht! Even if you don't like beets, I challenge you to try this and say you don't like it! Their other starters that I highly recommend are their Bavarian Pretzel w/ beer cheese dip and their Potato & Onion Pierogis. For main entrees, if you want German I'd go with the Jager Schnitzel (choose Spaetzle Dumplings for your side), and if you're wanting something just a little different, I highly recommend the Bahn Mi Linguica. Truthfully, though, you can't go wrong with any of their exotic sausages; the elk and boar are my personal favorites. For dessert, they have traditional Kuchen! It's even the way it's supposed to be; warmed-up, and made with cottage cheese! Again, even if you don't like cottage cheese, I challenge you to try this amazing dessert and say you don't like it! When people think of great "foodie cities" in the Upper-Midwest, Chicago and the Twin Cities are the ones that most people think of, but I'm glad to say that Fargo is also putting its mark on the map! With places like Wurst Bier Hall, Mezzaluna, Mango's, and many others leading the charge, we'll soon take our place among the greats!

Came in here while I was in town for a few days. I ordered the elk sausage and had the fruity mimosa beer. They were both amazing! The staff was attentive and fast even though they were really busy when I came in. Great place.

This place did not disappoint. My wurst sandwich was excellent--very moist meat and tasty. Had a side of warm potato salad with vinegar, onions and bacon which was also great. Great beer selection including a few beers from Fargo Brew Co and Drekker.

I'm already looking for another excuse to get to Fargo. Maybe a beer and sausage is a good enough excuse in itself. We've tried it twice and loved everything about it. The open atmosphere with shared tables nudged me towards my extrovert side to enjoy a little banter with total strangers. The staff was friendly and upbeat without being fake. I always appreciate that. I had the venison sausage with potato salad and loved it. And the bread is perfect. We'll be back.

There's an old Monty Python jokes that says American beer is like making love in a canoe because they're both f***ing close to water. If this joke offends you, Wurst likely won't rate highly on your list. They carry 2-3 of the mass market stuff (Budweiser, Miller, etc.) because I suppose one HAS to, but thankfully the vast majority of their menu is GOOD beer instead. And much like JL Beers, the menu rotates on about a weekly basis. From hoppy, American craft ales, to German hefeweissen, stouts, ciders, lambics... Let's just say it's a celebration of Bacchian proportions. And yes, they carry lagers, but they'll mostly be more obscure brands and hopefully far more interesting than mass market junk you can get any old place. Their food is outstanding, too! Americans always seem woefully ignorant of wursts other than brats, but no longer! Here you can get mettwurst, German sausage, polska kielbasa, linguica, and a handful of exotics like elk and rabbit. I'd like to see them carry a good bockwurst as well, but the selection is still great. (I've always hated bratwurst, but my wife got it and I had a bite of hers. I still wouldn't order it myself, but it was WAY tastier than any other brat I've had.) The also have jager schnitzel (which was pretty good), a delicious pierogi appetizer with a curry sauce, and the most amazing pretzel I've ever eaten. Three large sticks that tasted fresh made, with the outside crisp and the inside doughy and chewy but still fully cooked. It was like a manly version of a croissant and it was awesome. The beer cheese dip was a little bit conventional, but still very tasty. Even their side salads are excellent, incorporating some spinach for actual greenery instead of just lame iceberg lettuce. And I finally tried the borscht, which was okay. After three visits, the mettwurst remains both my wife's and my favorite. Well, that and the pretzels. ;) Being new, they are PACKED, as in standing room only while waiting, on weekend dinner hours. But there are lunch hours and other days of the week, too. This place is worth it, and I highly recommend it. Probably in my Top 5 for eateries in Fargo.

I have been to the Würst three times now. It is always a fun atmosphere. Great beer on tap. Das boot is available. Service has been good too. The food is pretty good, although I haven't had much to eat from there. The Borsht reminds me of my Polish Grandfather's Borsht with the exception of a lack of a protein in the soup (Son's of Norway still has the best Borsht in town for that exact reason). If they were to add some steak or stew beef, I would be eating Borsht there on a daily basis. I have also had a couple of the brats/sausages there and they have all been very good. This is also the only place in town I know of that has free dry snus to enjoy after your meal or with a your beer.

Ate here en route to Vancouver from Rochester, NY. The sausages were seriously amazing. They have an assortment from Chicago as well as some from Fargo. Always nice to sample the local wares. The beer selection was pretty sick too and they have Das Boot. I was disappointed in my squad however because they did not want to participate. Anyways I had the kielbasa AND a hot Italian and was seriously stuffed afterwards. 5/5, would sausage again. Juicy and marvelous all around, peppers and onions cooked just nice. Delicious mustard options to add a bit of thunder although not even really necessary as the flavors were abundant and pleasant. Also had the pierogis. 2/5, would not pierogi again. Bland, sad excuses of potato sacks with basically buffalo sauce put on them. Yeah-nah. Squad indulged in beers that they were all very satisfied with and they wanted there enthusiasm to be represented abundantly. So here ya go. Waitress was very nice and comped a squad members beer because she spilt a bit on his menu. She was nice so we forgave her. Go here and eat sausages.

First time here for lunch. The food was amazing. The gravy on the schnitzel was very authentic german flavor. Will go back when I can have a beer. Will be a frequent stop when in Fargo

I LOVE this place! It has amazing and unique beer that you probably can't just buy anywhere and the bartenders can give you suggestions to mix it up a bit. Also, they have amazing mac and cheese spietzel for $3. What more could you ask for?

Actual Rating is 3.5 I've eaten dinner here twice and gotten beers here multiple times. In terms of being a bar, I think it is a great place to get a drink and the communal tables offer a great opportunity to meet new people. As far as a place to get food, I think it's OK. I've gotten various sausages, pretzels, and both types of potato salad. I always leave the meal feeling like I have just consumed an entire week's worth of salt. The German potato salad needs more vinegar and the traditional one needs less mayo - just my taste. The pretzels are wonderful, no complaints whatsoever. I come here every time I am back home and have finally decided to just go for beers and pretzels and to have an actual dinner somewhere else.

Upon opening, Wurst quickly became a go-to spot with its affordable and delicious German food menu and extensive, ever-changing slate of quality beer.

Best pretzel of my life. In Fargo? Wonderful surprise. Great beer as well. Could do without the perogies

The only negative thing about this place is that I dribbled beer cheese on my shirt and missed one last bite of it! Found a new (favorite) beer that I'm going to have to use my passport in order to buy again once I leave Fargo. Must book those tickets to Germany. NOW! Loving this place. Only wish I'd stumbled across it earlier in my trip. See you again soon, Wurst Bier Hall. It's a must try kind of place if you are in or near Fargo.

Came here again last night and got the fries + cheese dip again, checked out the pretzels, and ordered the currywurst (with the mettwurst). Delish again. I would like to also note: GET THE DIPS. As strange as it is to be geeking out over dips/sauces at a restaurant, I've now tried the beer cheese, the sriracha ranch, and the bacon walnut bleu cheese and my love for them is so strong that I want to write a romantic sonnet about them someday.

Great friendly atmosphere with tasty food and beer! Sitting at the picnic style tables I a must! Gives you a chance to sit with and talk with other people around you! Great brats and sausages to chose from. I had the wild boar sausage and wanted more it was sooo good. Of course the beer selection is deep. Go for a beer flight if you can't decide...gives you a smaller glass of four different beers to try.

Very good Bier Hall. Great beer selection. Dozens of taps. Food is really good. Wide variety of brats and sausages. I like the Fargo porketta sandwich. It is simply delicious. Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.

Having moved to Fargo, North Dakota, I wanted to sample the local cuisine. Many good restaurants are downtown and I decided to try this one. There's plenty of seating at the bar or at the bench-style tables. As for the food? I was impressed. I went with the jager schnitzel along with spaetzle in gravy and red cabbage. It was an excellent dish and was even better with the root beer straight from the tap. The spaetzle does not disappoint and the sandwiches are every bit as good too! What's more is that they have a selection of more exotic sausages like wild boar and alligator! (The alligator is loaded with spices and tastes like pork.) Wurst Bier Hall is a pleasant surprise and is worth a visit!

If I could give this place ELEVENTY stars, I would! I've been here five times. I was initially a reluctant visitor. It was busy and loud. And there were communal tables. I'm Norwegian, and I'd rather sit with my friends at our own table, thank you very much! We were seated at a communal table, and it was fun! Everyone was friendly, the lady next to me even let me try her jager schnitzel. Yum. The rotating beer menu is solid. I was very surprised to see the choices (Hofbrau!?! Yeah, buddy!) The prices are very reasonable given the quality of beer. Same with the food menu. You can't go wrong here, everything is wonderful. All of the sausages, the ham sandwich, the spaetzel and other dough-like foods, everything. Very reasonably priced. But YOU MUST TRY THE PIEROGIS! Only $4.50 for a plate of four pierogis. They are just fabulous. Hats off to Bert and Klaus! I'd kiss either one of you on the lips if someone would tell me who you are. Be afraid. :)

Second time I have been here and I must say it is quickly becoming my favorite go to spot in downtown Fargo. The beer selection is awesome and the food is spectacular. The price is very reasonable for a restaurant in a downtown location. A must try if you are in downtown Fargo.

Came in Sunday afternoon for lunch and was treated with friendly servers and great food. Loved every dish I had as well as the beer selection! Food is inexpensive, however the portions aren't huge. Myself and another got two appetizers and two dishes and that was about perfect. Seems like a good place to go anytime of the day.

We just traveled from the Twin Cities with our college bound son and were looking for a reasonably priced but interesting non-chain place for for a Sunday evening dinner. Our server Mitch seated us and was very friendly and helpful with the menu. His service was exceptional. He offered to bring us samples of German Beers. We had the pretzels and all ordered the Jager schnitzel with the red cabbage and spaetzel with gravy. The beer was served at the perfect temperature and the food was delicious, piping hot and well seasoned. We heartily agree with the the other positive reviews here.

I've been here a few times now and have enjoyed each visit. For beer, the selection is extensive and they do a great job of describing the flavors in the menu. Just beer alone, this is a great place to grab a seat with friends. With the food, it's heavy on the sausage-type items but with other options. In one visit, I had the bahn mi style sandwich but I don't recall which sausage I chose - it was definitely good. I added the fries and my serving size was very large, and enough for two people, really. In my last visit, I just had an appetizer with my beer and went with the bavarian pretzel. It was sooo good. Based on the oily outside, I assume it is fried which gives you any indication of the tastiness - and it was just the right amount of crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. It will now be difficult not to order that every time I'm there. If you are ordering other food, much like one order of fries being enough for two to split, I think you could say the same for the bavarian pretzel.

This was a wonderful pub and the atmosphere is great. The service is quick and friendly. I would be willing to eat here again. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating was because of the food portions. For $18 I got a small sausage with sauerkraut on it. It tasted great, but not good enough to leave out a side dish.

Really enjoyed this dinner with friends. Tough choice picking out beers, there were too many that I wanted! Must come back. Must have the pretzel sticks for an appetizer. Fresh made, warm, soft, yummy. Each of us had a different sausage. Most were good. Recommended to the manager to use the pretzel as the bun instead of sourdough. Had another basket of pretzel stick for dessert with a marshmallow and cayenne spice dip. Oh, that was great. Will definitely be back.

Great space right downtown. Pretty cool atmosphere, but bring a coat! They had the AC pumpin like there was no tomorrow. Great beer selection. Had the kielbasa, German and mettwurst. Had the mett based off of another yelp recommendation on here. The mettwurst was the best out of the three we selected. Could have used more sauerkraut, but other than that it was tasty Also got the pretzels as an app. They were delicious! Cheese dip was tasty. Would definitely come back if I was in the area again.

Pay the obvious pun in the title of this restaurant no mind, this is certainly one of the more solid options for fun dining in downtown Fargo. It has several advantages over other dining options, but let's limit it to my favorite three: quality, cost, and options. The Wurst offers up various sausage options--including unique items such as alligator, elk, wild boar; a few random German concoctions, currywurst; and rotating caste of decent beers, including your American ales of all types and flavors. In an interesting twist, the food is very affordable ($5-$8 sausage, less than $15 across the menu), but the beer is priced higher than typical beer prices, even after accounting for the fact that they are selling beers intended to appeal to a crowd that have refined their tastes beyond typical American lagers. I get the feeling that the Wurst is trying to be an upscale beer bar while offering decent food options for cheaper prices. No matter the intent, the effect is that the place is never even close to empty. I live just a few blocks from downtown and have walked by the Wurst at nearly every time of day and throughout the week. It's never struggling for business. The food is good. The drink is good. Affordable. Beat that. Now, hopefully the praise of the overall quality, cost and options are enough to appeal to you, but there are some downsides of the restaurant, depending on what you are looking for. Seating options are awkward, usually because it's a packed house. There are long beer hall styled benches for larger groups, tables for 4-5, and bar seating. I've sampled all of them, but I've most often been with small groups of friends, and we either waited for a table or plopped ourselves down among strangers. It's a part of the experience, I guess you could say, but I sometimes prefer to enjoy the company of my friends without worrying about who is sitting immediately next to me. The beer is on the expensive end, so it's not my choice destination for drinking--you could certainly get equivalent quality of beer for cheaper within a stone's throw or short walk. I've had both excellent and poor service. It's probably dependent on how many people are there and how new servers are, but my first few servers were not knowledgeable or intent on providing good service. In 3 of my 4 visits there, my server forgot something about my order, or the order itself--which is hard to do since it's usually a brat and a beer. In the Wurst case, the good far outweighs the bad, and I imagine they will be doing business downtown as long as their model holds and the quality doesn't diminish with time.

Great food. Good beer. Great service. All around good place. Not enough of a menu for a full meal if you're looking for variety, but what they have they do well. 5 stars all around, all day. Stop in if you like beer and sausage.

We ate here last weekend. Food: Awesome! Their menu is short and sweet. I had the duck sausage while my husband had the elk sausage. We shared the chicken apple sausage appetizer. Beer: Fantastic! We were so full but I wished I could have tried more. I was nervous that they would serve the German beer warm but our friendly server assured us it was cold! I don't remember which beer I had but I wish I could drink some right now! Atmosphere: Loud and fun. We sat at a community table and the first group we sat by was pretty quiet. Right before we left a new group sat down and they had been drinking for awhile so they were fun! The group behind us was enjoying Das Boot so they were keeping it lively. Parking: Stinks!! We drove around for 10 minutes trying to find a parking spot. The main reason I never go downtown. I wish this was closer to our house because we definitely want to go back but prefer to avoid that mess again. To summarize: Great food and beer, terrible parking!

Came here as a vegetarian in a group of meat-eaters. Good beer selection. Bavarian pretzels were great - I don't know how anything fried and served with cheese wouldn't be enjoyed! My friends enjoyed their sausages. However, vegetarians be forewarned: "vegetarian wurst" gets you no "wurst", just a bun full of bell peppers.

Another Fargo gem! Nice way to spend a Sunday watching NCAA Basketball. Sarah and the Staff were so informative and nice. Started with the Bavarian Pretzel and Pierogi. I could bath in that cheese dip. The spicy curry sauce with the pierogi was unique, but worked. Flights and samples were most welcome. Awesome beer selection. Sandwiches and sides stole the show. Great breads and meats. You must have the braised Red Cabbage. Savory, almost like noodles in texture. Prices were way more than fair. Nice job...

In a word...Fun! Wurst Bier Hall is a nice and open place with a great selection of beers and a very German, but very tasty menu! If you are not a big beer connoisseur, have no fear, because the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly! They are ready to help you pick out the right taste or flavor styling you're looking for. Plus, the selection extends from not just bottled beer but draft beer as well, hosting many handles! While your there, try a boot! They are a bit large but good fun! Erst mach' dein' Sach dann trink' und lach!

This place is pretty sweet. I know it's a beer hall, but you can honestly come for the food and stay for the beer. The menu is filled with various types of sausages, both traditional and a little exotic. I've had the steak and cheese sausage and the jalapeño cheddar and both were really good. A German coworker of mine always orders the curry wurst and says it's pretty spot on. Also, much like the other reviewers, I have to say that the pretzels blew away my expectations, warm and soft, not too salty and the dipping sauces or simply the assorted mustards already at your table make great compliments. I could go into the beer selection, but it honestly has never let me down. There is always something new and the staff is very knowledgeable and willing to talk you through your decision process. Overall, this place is exactly as advertised, a German Beer Hall, but with outstanding food.

A new player in downtown Fargo and a new favorite on my list of regular haunts. If you can tolerate beer and sausage, Wurst will win you over and make you a full fledged fan. The beer selection changes quickly and offers drafts you won't encounter anywhere else in town. The food offerings, whether you prefer sandwiches, burgers, or sausage, hit all the right notes. The pretzels are absolutely decadent, and priced to convince you to indulge. Do it. They deserve to be experienced. The only drawbacks are limited seating, especially during peak hours, and a staffing approach that still has some glitches. It's a great option if you want to experience something new and get out of a rut, or to make your new regular pit stop.

Why love it? 1. Dare to find any other bier hall in fargo, period. 2. Unique / "UBER COOL" from the menu to the seating to the lighting and art. 3. Did we mention bier? How about they constantly rotate beer selections? Come in a week apart, and you'll likely have a dozen new pulls on tap. AMAZING. Go ahead and don't try it. More for me, too bad for you.

Got into town a bit late on a Sunday evening, and looked downtown for a place to eat. This was close and open. Maybe it was the late night on the weekend but their Philly Cheesesteak "wurst" could've been better. Fries were fine. Beer selection was great, though tended toward the lighter selections (I usually like to eat mine with a fork). Overall it was OK but not great. I'm thinking this is more of a beer establishment than an eating establishment, but I'll give it another try.

It's about time ethnic food was represented well while taking a road trip. Go before 4 PM if you have kids. We will be hitting this place every time we come to Fargo.

I really, really liked this place. I stumbled on it because I arrived from out of town on a Sunday and nothing else was open. When ordering a beer I described the craft beers I usually drank and they helped me figure out the local equivalent. They let me try a few before committing to a beer which was awesome. I wish I could have come back to try some of the German specialities but alas I was only able to try the Bavarian pretzels and chicken sausage. All in all awesome new spot that I hope makes it for the next time I make it Fargo.

The beers, the atmosphere, and one can not forget about the amazing food. You need to get the Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese as a start ps try with marshmallow dip for a sweet treat. You have not lived until then.

Really love the place. Great beer! Food is good. I like the ham sandwich and polish. Try the pretzel sticks with the marshmallow dip. Wow! I would ask for a bigger appetizer menu.

1st off it is new and some of the kinks still have to be worked out. I have had most of the beers there already the Germans selection is modest it could use some more. For anyone that complains lack of domestics why are you coming to a Germany beer hall...seriously you complain about lack of domestics they all taste like piss anyways if I you were blindfolded I bet you couldn't taste the difference. The food so far has been great I think they could use more but I everything has been good snitzel and the sausages are great. Spetzle tasted great too and the cabbage complimented well. I would have to say the tap is awkward height and some of the glasses don't fit the water spigot for the the boot probably just an oversight. It is new everything is good tasting and an open atmosphere because hey its a beer hall don't expect much privacy because that is a Germany beer hall. Kids only til 4 and seriously if you get mad that they are not allowed in after call your city council they got a special permit just they could have kids in there and really I know it's Germany food but seriously bringing a child to a bier hall. Overall I will go there again for a beer and for food and recommend to friends to go as well

Would eat here twice a day, every day if I lived nearby. Sadly, we were just passing through and only got to enjoy it for one night. But, that being said, WBH has a great beer selection (and I say this as someone from the PNW with dozens of craft breweries with a short drive of my house) and the food was phenomenal if you like sausages and German pub food. I would have never thought to get linguica "banh-mi style" but wow, was it delicious. As was the rabbit sausage and the sriracha pierogies and everything else we consumed over the four hours we were there.

Almost every time I've been to Wurst, I've loved everything about it. The only reason that I give it four stars rather than five is that I've run into trouble with choosing the beers from the menu that are not available. I know that it takes some effort to print new lists, but it's really frustrating when it happens 5+ times in one meal. That said, I will absolutely go back and enjoy the delectable jagerschnitzel again soon. It's the best I've had outside of Germany!

I know it's a German Beer Hall, but it's too much to ask to have some American light beers, apparently. They have Coors and Bud. No lights, no Miller, or anything else. You want a standard American beer, those are your choices. Food is mediocre. I've been there three times, and every time I get a whiff of something foul, like someone spilled beer and didn't clean it up. THAT PLACE JUST OPENED. Also, Das Boot, the big beer glass that everybody raves about... they don't have enough of 'em. The tables for four are terribly constructed with the legs right on the corner of the table, so you bang your knees against them all night. The taps on the bar are arranged on a long industrial pipe so when you sit at the bar, you can't actually see your bartender without peeking through the taps. Also, beer only. No drinks. Real deal killer for me. Last straw, I was there after work one day and the bartender used one of the glass washers situated in the bar top and squirted water on me. No apology. On the positive side, most of the staff is very friendly, and the decor is cool. In one year, this place is gonna be packed with regulars after work, and a ghost town at night.

Great beer! I didn't like my Cajun sausage, as it was just heat without flavour. Good choices, though, and good beer!

2nd time around the experience was much better! Service was great, food was delicious, atmosphere was fun. The jalapeno cheddar sausage is spicy & flavorful, the app with the brie in a pastry & sausage on the side is DELISH.

Very cool place. They have a lot of beers on tap I have never heard of and an incredible sausage menu. Porketta sandwich was fantastic! I don't make it to Fargo often but definitely will visit again. If you like something a bit different definitely check it out!
