Great food, great service! Every Wednesday you get a free cookie with a large sub.

In my opinion, the best place to get a sandwich in Fargo! The staff is always upbeat and the food is excellent. I recommend the Reuben or the Southwest Mo.

One of my favorite places to stop for lunch. I get good customer service all the time. I usually call ahead for them to make my food so when I get there it is made and ready to go! They always have it ready within 5-10 minutes! Always impressed!!!

This is one of my favorite go to places. Staff is always friendly and their food is always good. I just tried the Pavalocinni (sp?) this last weekend for the first time and couldn't believe how good it was. Also, the first time I went there someone recommended the Tomato Basil soup to me. It is the weirdest looking tomato basil soup I've ever seen, but OMG it's awesome!!! I get it almost every time I'm there. Otherwise my go to is the Reuben.. it is huge... and delicious! You won't be disappointed!

I love the smiling moose! I've never had a bad experience at either location in Fargo. Lots and lots of possible toppings and condiments. Great wheat bread and vegetable soup. I love the hot and cold sandwiches. Plus, they have a Rewards Card. I've already gotten 2 free large sandwiches and I don't even go more than once or twice per month!

The Mighty MO is mighty delicioso. People will compare this place to Jimmy Johns, Erbs and Gerbs, or maybe even Quiznos. However, the truth is their ingredients and food preparation are leaps and bounds above the rest. Everything is very clean and fresh. The management truly does their best to make sure everyone is satisfied with their experience. Give the tomato bisque soup a try, you will be pleasantly surprised.

What a great place for a sandwich and soup. Had the NYC roast beef and it was awesome! Hubby had the hot Italian and also was great. The bread is amazing! Worth the stop in fargo

What a great place to get fast food. Went with my family and I previously have had the Veggie Mo and hippie chic. Both are delish! My kids really liked it too and on top of it there is choices for everyone's diverse taste buds. You can have them cater and you also can put an order in online. I ordered online tonight before coming home from work and the food was done a few minutes early. Staff is friendly!

Do the build your own sandwich! They have so many options with that! I thought the salad options were a little limited, overall. It was clean, in good condition, and the food was very tasty! The staff was pretty friendly as well, although not overwhelmingly helpful.

A surprisingly good place for sandwiches! The ingredients are quite fresh, resulting in tasty sandwiches that are far superior to fast food and the soups are surprisingly great. The only gripe is that this place is a bit pricier than similar places (Subway, Jimmy John's, etc), but the adage "you get what you pay for" definitely applies!

I frequent this place for Lunch downtown. Always packed, which is a good sign. I have tried the Southwest Mo, which is fantastic. My current go-to is the David The Greek Salad... Great portion and doesn't need much dressing as they vegetables are very fresh and the variety is good enough to give it good flavor. It's a little spendy, but considering it is in a pretty high rent location, I'm willing to pay a little more for convenience. Great spot!

Very friendly service and it gets crowded during lunchtime but salad or sandwich was just OK. Nothing special .. My group all agreed that sandwiches here are better than Quizno's but other than that, I don't think it's 5 star sandwich shop. most sandwiches are $8-$9. They do have cool Coca-cola network soda machine though.

This is an update to my previous review, in which I gave them 2 stars. At the time, I felt the price was way too high for what you got. Well, the owner sent me a message here, asking me to try it again. I had already decided I would, since any bad experience could just be a fluke. I appreciate the time he took to reach out to me and the fact that he reads the reviews here is great. So, I went back again, and got the pastrami sandwich again, with everything on it. I also ordered a bottled drink, instead of something from the fountain. They were pretty busy, but since it was a Saturday, they weren't as busy as they normally are. After I ordered, the girl at the register gave me the credit card slip to sign and the phone rang. Once the phone rang, I was promptly ignored. I stood waiting for my receipt and bottled drink for a long while (a little less than 5 minutes) while she talked on the phone. I finally just gave up and went to join my friend at the table. When the sandwiches were delivered, I was again disappointed. Sure, I could have ordered something different, but I wanted to see if my bad experience last time was a one-shot deal. Unfortunately it wasn't. The sandwich, again, was only about an inch thick, counting the bread. The pastrami was again, about the same quality I could get sliced for me at the deli counter in any grocery store. Overall, I can make better at home for a lower price. My friend was also very disappointed in his sandwich, for pretty much the same reason: not enough meat for the price. I really want this place to be better. Fargo has a shortage of high-quality restaurants, and this place could be great. I have heard from other restauranteurs that it costs more than usual to have food and supplies delivered to Fargo. If that's the case, I can somewhat understand the wide rift between the price vs. what you get.. But then you have to wonder if it would be cheaper to make your own pastrami. A lot of people I know like this place but, unfortunately I have been to other delis. I don't see the big deal here. I will go again and try something different. Maybe that's the key: Their pastrami sucks, but other things might be good. Sorry, Smiling Moose. My rating will remain unchanged for now.

Ate here about a month ago. The place was busy, so I thought that it would be something heavenly to rave about. I got some kind of turkey bacon wrap. It was about $8 and not really what I was expecting for the price. There wasn't much turkey in there, nor was there much bacon. There was far more lettuce than anything. I'm not usually one to give a bad review, but paying as much as I did for a wrap that wasn't very big or flavorful is something I'm not inclined to do again. Price isn't worth what I would get.

First thing I hear walking in the door, "And that was the drunkest I had ever been." The Bayou "Grilled Chicken" was pretty horrible. Packaged, pre-cut, processed chicken strips that were barely warmed and the cheese wasn't even melted. The enormous brownies were pretty tasty. Blueberry and pomegranate tea is really good, the mango green tea was good as well. Friendly staff the rest of the time. Clean and nice atmosphere, but not good food. Go to Jimmy Johns instead.

Overall this place was very nice. The food was fresh, delicious, and quick. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the menu had quite a lot of variety. It was a very nice place to grab lunch. In my group we tried soup, hot sandwich, and a wrap and all were very good.

Overall a pretty great lunch place. Portions may be a little small, as some reviewers have complained about, but they are filling. You won't leave the restaurant feeling over-stuffed, but the portions are just right for a light lunch. Don't expect a big meal here. I love my sauces, and the horseradish here was great. Bread was fresh, and the staff was super friendly. My only complaint is the prices are a bit high for the portion size, but I will definitely be returning.

Wasn't too impressed for my first time visiting. The food was just ok, nothing spectacular. And for just ordering 2 sandwiches to go, it took almost 15 minutes to get our food. The kitchen was extremely disorganized and more than one person I saw had a problem with wrong orders while I was waiting. It was mildly busy but not that bad. I won't write them off completely but I won't be rushing back.

It is good, but not THAT good especially for how much you are paying. I rather go to Schlotzsky's :)

After the first time I went to Smiling Moose I now crave it. I have to eat gluten free and this place accommodates me with gluten free hoagies and cookies. I don't know the last time had a good gluten free sandwich. Thank you!

The Mile-Hi-Thai wrap was amazing. This place is a welcome change from the average/typical sub shops ALL over town. Gourmet sandwiches, fast service and a nice atmosphere.

If yelp would allow zero stars that would be awesome because this location deserves nothing more. I usually go to the Smilling Moose in downtown and always have a great experience. This is my second time at this location and get disrespectful service specifically from Mary. I order a create your own sandwich, requesting French Baguette for my bread and she abruptly interrupts me with a condescending attitude and says (do you want white or wheat???) My response is I want exactly what's offered on the menu and that would be French. She apparently doesn't understand that French is white and works at a deli. Epic fail on managements part.

I went here for the first time the other day. I had the Southwest Mo and it was absolutely awesome. I really liked the flavors the sandwich had and the bread was perfect. I don't understand how people say it's not enough food, I'm not exactly a conservative eater and I was stuffed when I left there at 13:00 and did not eat dinner that night because I still felt content. I could have easily saved half the sandwich for another meal if I had chips with it. The staff was incredibly friendly as well and I met the manager Nate who actually went around asking people how things were and conversing with the patrons. I easily will be back.

The service was top notch and the food was very yummy.

Good sandwich. I had the hot Italiano. Nothing special. A little high priced and not quite real city deli fare. But good for Fargo. Biggest complaint was my salami slices still has rinds on them. I will try again at a later date

Visiting from Arizona! Stoopped in for soup and sandwich! I definitely loved the food! It was so fresh! The soda machine too! AH! It was so amazing. It had almost a bazillion choices! The owner checked around to see if everyone's meal met the customers expectations! You should totally go there for a nice meal!
(5)James J.
The food is always great! We always get the gluten free bread and tomato basil soup and it is awesome! Very friendly employees. Keep up the good work Nate!

This was my first visit. I ordered the Mighty Moe (grinder) because it was listed as the #1 customer favorite. The hoagie roll was good. Crusty outside and soft inside but the meat was extremely bland. It really needed some seasoning, sauce or something. Also, they way the sandwich was assembled made it very difficult to eat without wearing most of it upon first bite. I will say that given how busy they were, we got our food fairly quickly. I feel the prices are quite high for what you get. $21 for two sandwiches, two soft drinks and two bags of chips.
