Boy THIS is the place to go for sushi in Fargo. Stopped in for a late bite. They were all helpful and nice. I got the kani salad and sweet heart roll. Great combo with the sweet of the salad and the spice of the sushi. Very clean place without that smell you get sometimes at sushi places.

We showed up at a not so busy time of the day for a late lunch. Restaurant was practically empty. Service was great and the staff were friendly and courteous. We ordered the lunch box combos and the food was good. We'd go back again, if in the city of Fargo.

Amazing food and service! Found this restaurant a year ago and made sure to go back this past trip because it is just so delicious and entertaining!

I've been to Osaka 3 times now and each time the food was very good. Service was nothing special but not bad. The prices seem fair for the food you get. This is one of the better sushi places in the Fargo area.

I was staying in Fargo few days and chance to try lot of Sushi or Japanese restaurant. Went to Kobe, 101 sushi bar Korean BBQ, Sushi was ok, if we think Dakota style but still not fresh or vibrant. I don't know what's up with this eel sauce and spicy mayo... I feel like my sushi is become soup based out of spicy mayo and eel sauce. Also I tried naba yaki udon and ordered side fried rice. NabaYaki udon taste good but fried rice is just ok, and they are telling me to use that oil based shrimp sauce!!! Food is not about sauce it's about ingredients. I HAVE FINAL MESSAGE TO MANAGER GUY!!! I don't know WHATS HIS PROBLEM HE COME AND ASK US HOWS EVERYTHING ? I Said it's good HE INSIST THAT WHY ITS ONLY GOOD. I told him that Hey I'm being MidWest nice... HE ASKED ME, are you local? I don't know what he intend to do, but I'm sure he has issues with People :)

How much you like this will depend on a few things, the first and foremost being your relative sushi experience. Put this place in a city of any size and everything on the menu becomes overpriced, quality-wise, think 50% off sushi at full prices. The only one that was close was the shrimp tempura roll and that was at least $1 too high. The other factor will be your tolerance for lower end sushi. If all you want is to go fill up on sushi or are intensely craving it, this place will do, but only just and much like drunkenly fondling your cousin, will carry a definite tinge of regret with it when it's over and the respective craving has been satisfied and free of the thrall, presumably more sober. Go to the combination rolls, all of which carry colorful names and the pricing gets way off. Most of these are $8 or $9 rolls in those other cities. Here they are closer to $15, however, of the 4 different sushi selections, zero of them were worth it. A couple of them were coated in the sort of catfood consistency type spicy fish concoction that some places seem to favor then slathered all over with both Sriracha and spicy mayo. They both took a lot of ginger to choke down. Again, shrimp tempura was the best of the lot, with the tempura batter, in particular, being quite nice. Technique was good, however, on the sushi, which leaves me to wonder if this weird sushi creation is because the restaurant is in a landlocked state or because they're catering to the prevailing palate of the resident clientele. Sushi here would be a tough nut, no question. People here are woefully unsophisticated in terms of food and for a first-timer, I could very easily see this place being a one and out, especially given the cost. The décor and overall ambiance is fantastic, though. You could plunk this place in any city and it would be fine in that regard. In fact, this is probably the best interior and maybe exterior of any place I've been to on the vacation trip since leaving Salt Lake and better than several there. But for someone experienced in sushi, this is not enough. This is another half-priced place charging full prices and anywhere else but here, it goes out of business and probably quickly or changes its tune. I think I might be struggling, actually, as there were few other people in there with us. Even the appetizers themselves are badly in need of adjustment. If I order a calamari appetizer and you charge me $8 and I get 6 fresh-from-frozen rings and some rather nasty dipping sauce, we have a problem. It makes me think you'll throw any old thing on the table and the entire visit then becomes colored by an awful appetizer, as it has a few other times on this trip as well. The appetizer is your first opportunity to impress; the last thing you should do is piss it away with some throwaway junk. Service also needs some better training. If wait staff doesn't know what "nigiri" means in a sushi joint, that is an issue that needs immediate redress. Probably the best sushi option in the city and state, but that doesn't mean a whole bunch...maybe they do the hibachi part better...not sure I'll be returning to find out.

Great service. Delicious drinks. Large portions of food. Recommended for girls' night. Decor is Minnesota north woods meets the land of the rising sun.

Had a big group of people and they had no problem accommodating us. We had 8 different dishes and all were excellent. Great presentation, quick service, and will go back for sure.

Ate here last night with the husband and really enjoyed it. The service was fast and the food was delicious. The serving size is normal portions and not over stuffed, so you leave happy and full, not stuffed and uncomfortable. We stayed away because of the other reviews and we're sorry we didn't give it a try sooner. The prices are a little high but we think it's definitely worth it. We would recommend this place to our friends and family and we are definitely going to go back soon.

Went there for the first time. Service: Upon entering, the hostess that was suppose to greet customers was extremely rude!!! She made us wait for 20 minutes even though we requested the sushi bar (which was empty from the time we entered to the time we got seated). In fact, it wasn't until the owner asked why we were still waiting that she finally allowed us to be seated. Even worse, she didn't event say anything but just pointed to the chairs. It was a relief not having to deal with her anymore once we did get seated. On a pleasant note, the sushi chef was extremely friendly, which made us forget about our hostess. Furthermore, the owner consistently checked up on us which made it even better. Food: The sushi cut was just right and the fish were all fresh. I was kind of surprised because I'm from California where sushi is abundant. So I was happy that they have a place like this in Fargo. Price: Not too bad. It's actually normally priced. I will say that compared to Samurai, Osaka is a much better deal. I'd recommend ordering the platters, you get better deals that way. Decor: The restaurant looked nice and clean. There are two rooms, one for hibachi and one for sushi. I like how the rooms are dimmed (that's how I like to eat my sushi rather than in a bright room). In General: Great experience and will definitely come back again!

Best sushi in the state! Service is always fast, friendly, and accurate. We've never had a wrong order or a roll we didn't like.

The food here was pretty good and the service was excellent. My boyfriend and I did the hibachi and our chef was quite funny and entertaining. The place is spacious and nicely decorated. Will be coming back!

The Hibachi was pretty awesome! Food was excellent and proportions were plentiful. The sushi was fresh and very good. Decor is nice. Pretty neat to see what they did with the old Timberlodge. The service was good. There is some culture and language differences, but overall, nothing to detract from the enjoyment of the evening. I will be going back!

The food was actually quite good but the service is HORRIBLE. I have never experienced service so bad. We were seated after waiting for quite some time. The server came and took drink orders and I ordered a glass of wine and a glass of water to which the server told us to not ask for water. "Everybody gets water," he stated. I didn't get my water so I asked for one. We waited and waited and waited. The server came back after quite some time with bowls of miso soup thanking is for waiting. I still did not get a water and he was thanking us for waiting because he still had not even taken our orders. Some people in our group had wanted to order apps. We finally got our food and those that ordered appetizers hadn't gotten their appetizers yet. I had asked two more times to get a water. Still no water. Many of us had gotten to the end of our meals and I asked one more time. He brought my water when he brought our checks. My friend and I split our meal and for $80+ for the two of us the service was absolutely nothing to write home about. I'm really disappointed that my poor experience with the service has totally put a bad taste in my mouth over the whole restaurant. I will go elsewhere in town for sushi and hibachi and won't waste my money again.
