Love this place! Always great food. I think it is some of the best pizza in fargo. Calzones are awesome! So many great appetizers! Great beer selection. Get a world beer card and earn prizes along the way! Great service!

Pizza and calzones are good but I didn't order that. Fried soggy saddness. Caprese salad tasted like old cheese that was frozen also. I'll go there for a beer but they need to step up there staff and kitchen

Came for lunch today and had a good experience. Server was prompt, food was served relatively hot, and beer was delicious as always. I ordered their new Caprese Burger and it was pretty decent. I wish there was more basil and the tomatoes didn't seem to seem as fresh as they should be. No fault to the restaurant, but I would have loved to get the burger medium rare, but they don't offer temperatures. Overall, I left satisfied and our server Matthew was great. I look forward to having him take care of me again next time I stop in the bar!

Well worth your money I had the #7 canzone I'm stuffed beyond stuffed. Every bite was heaven to my taste buds. A must to try I will be back again for another. We had left over to make two more meals. Pure heaven when one can taste every bite of every ingredient that was put into the meal.

The food is great.....unfortunately had a crappy server that was more concerned about chatting up a storm with friends. Took forever for our drink order and the wait for menus was ridiculous. Once our food came we had no silverware or ketchup.....which we grabbed from other tables.

If you like beer, you're in luck because it's tough for them to screw that up. HOWEVER, if its a burger done medium rare the BUYER BEWARE!! My cousin and I stopped in to grab a couple burgers to go after loading a trailer full of furniture. The burgers took longer than expected. We grabbed our burgers and headed out the door. Once we reached the interstate we both bit into our burgers. These burgers were well-done and inedible. Dryer than a popcorn fart!! Ish! I called the manager and told her than we did not have time to turn our truck and trailer around as we had a deadline to meet for delivery. She offered me $20 for hour troubles ... that's what the two burgers cost ... gee, thanks a lot. Two weeks pass and I finally got a a piece of mail from Old Chicago. It's a $10 gift coupon, only half of what I was promised by the manager on duty. I called to speak with the manager, but apparently he was to busy at 10:30 in the morning to take my call? If you're looking for a delicious burger or even decent follow through by management, I'd run from this place ... and I'd run fast!!

Meh. To start, being under construction is cool and all. I appreciate a place that puts in for a facelift. To be actively hammering/sawing at 5:30 during dinner, though? That's just not good contracting. Be like everywhere else in town and hire your guys to work before/after business hours. Not to mention, it sort of reeked of paint. The host guy greeted us after about a minute, he did well to multitask as there was us and another lady walking in at the same time. Our waiter appeared to be new. He was polite and service was quick, but he did not know the menu. We asked him the difference in quantity between an appetizer/meal item and he did not know. He also asked to clear a plate that still had a bit of food on it. I appreciate the want to be speedy and efficient, but there was still a handful of fries and some veggies on that appetizer...We scrambled to move the food to our plates and let him take the dish away. The food is pretty decent, but very overpriced. We ordered a chicken finger basket as an appetizer to split and came with 5 dinky chicken strips, a handful of fries and a small veggie. For eleven dollars, thats crazy. The personal pizzas we ordered were $8/9, for an 8 inch pizza thats just bananas. Don't get me wrong, the food was "good" but that pricing is not good at all. Overall, I would not recommend this place at all during the construction as it is a serious annoyance. After that, perhaps it's worth a try but I probably wont be returning.

GREAT PIZZA. We got the thin crust, classic pizza. Carried it out as we had been traveling and were staying at a hotel right next door. What a great choice... nice and crispy, thin, great tasting sauce. Wish we had one near us in Florida. AND the price was right..Large was perfect for the two of us.

Two stars vs one because they have a good beer selection. This is the second time I ordered a salad and the description in the menu of the salad says "greens" and when it comes it is iceberg lettuce and it obviously is old, clear, and slimy. I wonder if they freeze it? Yuck, worst salads of my life and I would be embarrassed to serve something like that.

This restaurant feels similar to Apple Bee's.. I tried salad and sandwich. Salad is really mediocre.. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have to have salad.. Sandwich is OK but nothing special. I saw pizza lunch buffet but it only has 3-4 kinds of pizza with spaghetti and sauce on side and you can get ONLY one bowl of salad or soup (not unlimited salad/soup bar). Instead of having this buffet, I would choose to go to Pizza Ranch for unlimited salad bar and about 10 kinds of hot pizza available for about the same price. Very casual inside. Service was OK.

    (3)
  • Matt G.

I thought it was just average. The lunch buffet did not have a lot of options when we were there, and had to wait for food b/c it was empty. (I understand that happens so it doesnt affect the review). There are a variety of beers, but did not seem too knowledagle about them. This was a Thursday afternoon. On a separate time I went there, it was weekend night after the Fargo Force. It was really busy and took awhile to get a seat in the bar. I orderd the Italian nachos and they were enjoyable. The big pieces of sauge made the dish!

This is one of the few locations in another city that I've been to frequently and that's for a couple reasons. First, it appears to be somewhat of a family favorite (very nice beer selection overall) and secondly, they don't make a half-bad slice of pizza pie. The ambiance reminds me of a cross between a sports bar with elements of something akin to a Chuck E. Cheese. I don't mean that as a negative at all, but rather that it is not really geared around a night-on-the-town sort of high end dining. In fact, if you want something intimate, you're better off keeping on driving. As mentioned, their beer selection is a definite feature and bellying up to the bar is not a bad experience at all. Plenty of tvs about, mostly set to ESPN the times I was there and the wait staff has always been excellent. This is one of the few places I've never felt a need or inkling to downgrade a tip and in fact, several times, I've upgraded it considerably. Service is at a very high standard and you will be taken care of. I didn't have a problem with anything I ordered, but others in a group did on one of my visits and the management has a very free and liberal hand at making things right immediately, no muss, no fuss. Others could take a lesson here. The pizza and the appetizers are equally solid, though, somewhat better than expected given the sports bar/Chuck E. Cheese thing I mentioned earlier, but not quite up to top notch standard. All in all, though, very little to complain about and a great deal to like. It's not quite up to perfect (you will see exceedingly few 5 star reviews from me as I think that means there is no room to improve), but it's further away from dissatisfaction. Anytime I'm in the area and someone suggests it, as long as I haven't recently had pizza, I'm down to hit it up again.

If you are looking for deep dish pizza in Fargo, this is the place to go. I have been here a couple times, and have been extremely impressed with their food, service and cleanliness each time. I have had two kinds of deep dish pizza and a club sandwich here, so far. All have been delicious and well-made. If it's pizza you are looking for, I highly suggest the Double Deckeroni. We had quite a wait one time we came, but they gave us free appetizers in compensation. They didn't need to do that, but they could probably hear our growling stomachs and were afraid we might start eating their other customers, Walking Dead style. Can't say I blame them. I would definitely go back to Old Chicago Pizza & Pasta.

Great pizza - especially the Double Deckeroni. Went there for dinner last week and because we had a good long wait - I would say somewhere in the area of 45 minutes or so. It was busy, so I totally understand that getting a rush can't be helped - it is what it is and it's not a complaint. My party and I didn't make a fuss about the wait or anything, but the Manager there comped both of our appetizers. I'd say that it was easily $25 worth of apps and it was really nice to have that kind of care and attention paid to your patrons. It is definitely a place that I'll continue to go (whether or not anything gets comped).

Honestly, this started out in a very negative direction. First off, an area of the interior is being remodeled. No biggie. I come to the front and there is no one there to greet me or direct me, even after waiting there a minute. Ok I can find my way to the bar. Very busy but there is one seat left. I snag it. A female bartender takes a person's empty glass from right next to me and does not say a word to me. I am thinking to myself....is it time to blow out o f this joint?? Whoa...In steps Grady, another bartender. He quickly takes my order but then directs me to the special. Good job! Next offers a menu. Nicely done. Keeps my glass filled while I look over the menu and smell the great smells coming from the kitchen. I order the jalapeno pretzels. Oh wow! Fresh, hot, and really good. Next I ordered the Tavern Crust pepperoni pizza. First thing I notice is the absence of grease. The crust is pliable but thin and crispy at the same time. The pepperoni is nicely spiced and not overly salty. Super good! Highly recommed!!

I ordered take-away, told it would be a twenty minute wait and it was ten. Nice! Cheese pizza and Chicago 7 Stromboli were terrific, if not the fanciest items on the menu. The stromboli's crust was amazing and I would order it again. Good spot!

I was in town for work and staying at a nearby hotel, so Old Chicago's location was ideal for lunch. A coworker and I walked over on a weekday around 12:45, and found it was fairly dead, which was good for us since we were hoping for a quick meal before we had to go to work. We were in this restaurant for an hour from start to finish- not sure why, as we each ordered simple salads. We also never received a drink refill. Horrible horrible service! Seriously, there were maybe 5 tables occupied and most of them were going to the pizza buffet, so we could not figure out why it was taking soooo long to get our salads. Carla, our server, could not have been less attentive or less indifferent. Let's talk about the salad situation. I decided on the Mediterranean salad, which came with chicken. Since I'm a vegetarian, I planned to request it without the meat. Upon further perusal of the menu, I noticed that avocado could be added to any salad for 99 cents. I decided to ask if I could substitute the avocado for the chicken. She didn't act like that would be a big deal, so I thought we were set. My coworker ordered the same salad. In fact, he said the words "I will have the exact same salad, just with chicken". When they showed up to the table (35 minutes later), he had a large round salad bowl filled with Mediterranean goodness and a piece of garlic bread. I had a small rectangular plate with a significantly smaller portion of salad. It did have the avocado, which I appreciated, but I was confused. The dishes were not even remotely close in size. Carla did not offer an explanation when she delivered them. When the bill came, I saw that I had been charged for a Small Plate, which was about $4 cheaper than the main course salad, but I was just so confused! I did not order the little salad! I don't know why I didn't ask her about it, but I just didn't. She didn't seem to care and lunch had already taken longer than it should have, so we were just jonesing to get out of there. Weird experience, crappy service, no refills- we'll probably find another lunch spot next time we are in town!

Get the pepperoni rolls. You won't be disappointed. I was in last night and I got the spinach artichoke calzone. It wasn't as flavorful as I was expecting, but luckily I had pepperoni rolls for an appetizer :) Although I won't get that calzone again, it wasn't bad and I've enjoyed other meals from there, so it's all good, Old Chicago! I'll be back :)

You know, tried the Thai pizza, not that bad... although the crust was a bit too dry with the sesame. Here you can try around the world... drink over 100 different varieties of beer that always change. They'll help you keep track with your receipts how far you've gotten! More than 20 beers on-tap at any point, they have the local microbrews to the national favorites. No Yuengling at the moment, though, to my eye... Pizza and calzones are probably the best here. As are the pepperoni roll appetizers with the pizza sauce. Fun place to stop off for a cheap beer (happy hour means the full pints are the same price as the 10 oz beers for anything on tap) and a few little TVs and more. They used to have a little blackjack table, too, at the nights, not sure if they do that anymore.

This is THE place for beer in Fargo. Finding this place was a real boon, after a week of the same crappy macrobrew taps. They have a very decent selection of microbrews, and imports in bottles, and easily the best taps in town with over 30 brews available. The atmosphere was clean, chain family restaurant-y, and blandly generic but the service was great, and the food was delicious. I got a calzone that had delicious buttery crust and the perfect blend of cheeses and my date loved his ENORMOUS club sandwich. Neither of us could finish the enormous portions. With two beers, two drinks, and two meals the price was shockingly cheap for an out of towner at $25. the waitress was fast, friendly, cheerful, and good at her job.
