I have not been at the Ground Round for a while now and I have to say it is definitely going down in customer service. Ordered a couple orders to go and had to wait and wait and wait. Food was not as good as usual. I will give them another chance, but they need to improve on customer service big time.

Okay first of all the popcorn here that they give you to munch on is sooo good! It's like crack! However the service here was not good at all! We had a male server who was the least bit interested in helping keep the glasses full as well as the popcorn. We ordered 3 appetizers because it was 3pm and we just needed some snacks after some holiday shopping. The restaurant wasn't busy by no means but he was too busy yacking his mouth to earn a tip. The appetizers came out with the wrong dipping sauces and we were done eating before he came back to check on us so there was no need to complain about sauces. We were just in town for the holidays visiting family so we know not to come back here the next time we come to visit.

Nothing OVERwhelmingly bad or good about this place. The vibe is casual and the service is average. I recommend trying your burger or sandwich on the pretzel roll. Other than that, I sadly don't have a lot more to say. =/

Was surprised with the great service,Bismarck really lacks customer service but here the server followed up with us and was great. The food was not bad, didn't blow me away but the service was great!

Nothing bad to say about Ground Round. I love that their salads are so big! Most of the time, my husband and I just stop into the bar and have some appetizers and a beer (when I'm not pregnant of course!) The food is generally pretty good and the staff is friendly. Nothing exceptional about this resturant but nothing bad either.

Delicious teas, and nice happy hours! The popcorn is a nice bonus. I enjoyed all of the food that I've tried so far here. Most of all the Long Islands I recommend, lots of flavors!

Let me first start off by saying the food is pretty good some things not as great as others and usually the drinks are hit or miss on being good usually the wait staff is pretty good we went out last night and ended up at the ground round we walked in and stood in front of the little wait to be seated desk looking thing while the two guys chatting behind it ignored us until finally we spoke up and said 2 then they looked at us almost with a puzzled look then one said OK yeah I think that's do able then grabbed menus sat us and left without a word we sat there waiting for our waiter for probably 15 20 minutes for our waiter to come he asked what we wanted to drink didn't introduce himself didn't say what the specials were nothing we ordered a cherry coke and water took him another 10 minutes to bring our drinks he asked if we were ready to order we weren't upon drinking some of my water it tasted funny so when he came back 15 minutes later we ordered 2 appetizers soup a salad and another coke awhile later our waiter returns with the appetizers and says is there anything else I can get you so I asked for my coke and salad he goes Cesar right no so I told him what salad and he looked completely puzzled when he brought my coke it was half full like he gave me someone else's coke my salad looked like they took a Cesar salad and added the toppings my salad had our waiter walked by our table ignoring our empty drinks had to stop him and ask for refills he brought us a box for the left overs and our check he came back very quickly to collect it we didn't have our money in it so we rushed our money out we were so puzzled by our waiters behavior because it was almost like he was drunk or high just something not right it was literally like our waiter was one of the guys from dudes where's my car he stood talking to other wait staff while we waited for drink refills with our drinks in his hand and we could hear the conversations the kitchen staff were so loud it literally sounded like a fight with the screaming by the time he brought back our signed receipt we were like this doesn't seem like this amount of food so we noticed our soup never came so we looked for people at the reception desk no one then we waited by the kitchen entrance for someone to notice took them awhile finally our waiter cams we told him we never got the soup we ordered he took our receipt that had the signature on it and stared at it puzzled for a few minutes he then said oh I'll refund you for the soup so we said we already paid for it with the card so he stood puzzled looking some more and so we said can we get it to go he giggled nodded his head and goes yeah...... I can do that he brought us our soup and we left to the lounge which was very nicely decorated for Halloween I could understand if the place was packed or it was really late but it wasn't late and it wasn't packed

Mediocre burgers, mediocre service. I hate chain restaurants for the most part, but for some reason my customer I'm working with decided we come here anyway. My burger was not prepared the way I requested and the waitress didn't bother to check, but I ate it anyway. The fries were lukewarm. My client said "that was good" as we were leaving so maybe that's what I should expect from North Dakota with my presumably high Los Angeles standards, but I've had much better in places more rural than this.

It's very similar to Applebees, right next to Applebees, and about ten times better than Applebees. It's nothing extraordinary but the staff was attentive and friendly and everything I've tried there is at least well made.

Given the limited amount of locally-owned, quality eateries in Bismarck, this place is pretty good. I'm a fan of the popcorn - who isn't? And they really do keep it comin'. I'm also a fan of the chicken tortilla soup, and I get it every single time I'm there. Their other food? Meh. The salads are drenched in too much dressing and served with iceberg lettuce (ick). I suppose you could stop in for a burger or chicken sandwich and it would be pretty good. Oh, I almost forgot...The Ground Round's claim to fame is long island tea night on Wednesdays. Teas are cheap - maybe $3, and come in assorted flavors. A good way to get lit rather quickly on hump day.

Ground Round's chicken taco soup is the only reason I gave this establishment 3 stars. Other menu items are bland with no culinary flare. This was the first establishment I have been to that serves popcorn (versus chips and dip). Ground Round is acceptable for family outtings, but I would recommend another eating establishment if you want flavor in your food.

My family and I have been going to this Ground Round for a couple of decades, so needless to say I have had the gauntlet of experiences. If you are unfamiliar with what a Ground Round is, just think Applebees but way less in-your-face preppy. Their chicken alfredo with broccoli is a standout menu item, and their side of broccoli is a worthwhile substitute for the unhealthier side item options if you are watching your girlish (or man-ish... no one's judging) figure. The bar is the main draw for me these days, but the restaurant is a solid venue as well. Overall this is a good, solid restaurant.

Love the popcorn they serve with unending love. Hate the fact they serve a Caesar salad with bacon bits and black olives on it. Bar area was bit of a mess, but the bartender knew her customers and kept servers' drinks coming - and quickly. Just like Applebee's, you can't give The Ground Round more than 3 stars, because if you do, something's wrong with your culinary tastes. Went here, though, because this was always the best of the "American" chain restaurants in Bismarck. Still is.
