I really like what Olive Garden has done with their restaurants. They have kept the old things that I love (bottomless salad, bread sticks, etc...) and have added new items that are very good. This location was actually on a wait on a weeknight and so must be very popular locally. I sat at the bar and the service was extremely attentive and friendly.

You know it is going to be a poor experience when there are open booths and the greeter refuses to respect your request to have one. I was told something about having to wait longer and being short staffed. How is moving us ten feet a problem? Then less than two minutes later the same douche bag greeter guy with boy band black hair sat another family in the very same booth I had requested. I called on the manager and while he was empathetic he suffered from a spinal calcium deficiency. If I owned this place the first thing I would do is fire boy band black hair greeter boy. There was a time where going to an Olive Garden actually was a treat. Those days are gone.

This place has deteriorated rapidly. Firstly my beer was unavailable (after a 20 min wait the waiter informed me it was not available after I had ordered it) my wife's drink took 20 minutes to make and was wretched. My mothers lemonade was not flavored to any degree. We ordered food that took another 20 mins after which we were informed that the food my mother ordered was also unavailable. Then we the food was finally given to us (nearly an hour after sitting down) my pasta was overcooked, my sauce was wrong and barely warm, and was littered with burnt garlic, not roasted, burnt. I will go out of my way to avoid this place until they get their act together.

We got in quickly but then had to wait for the waitress to come over for 5 or so minutes. She was nice and decently quick with bringing back drinks and soup but with that didn't even offer cheese for on it. Didn't even ask about a second bowl of soup or more breadsticks and Had to be prompted to bring either. The wait for the food was ridiculous. Usually you can barely finish a bowl of soup but this time 2 bowls were finished and still waited 20+ minutes for the entrees. The table behind us ordered 15 minutes after we did and still got it before us. This was one of the worst Olive Garden experiences I've had to date.

Unfortunately the service and food where not as good as previous visits. They discontinued a few favorites of our group like the seafood portofino. It's replacement pappardelle pestetore was very disappointing for a seafood selection. Clams where very bland, noodles too large and long, scallops and shrimp where just OK. Sauce was good but didn't stick to anything in the dish really. Server was very rushed but did a decent job for a group of 9 of us. Girlfriend had RAVIOLI DI PORTOBELLO and pasta seemed to stick to plate and was not very warm. The sauce was very rich and not very smooth textured.

I'm not happy with our meals this evening. Although the breadsticks and salad were good, our waiter put in the wrong order for my sister and mine was cold so had to send it back. Her meal, one she always orders, tasted burned. Service was sooooo slow. We've been done eating well over 15 minutes and he's still not come by. Given that both our meals were screwed up, you'd expect a manager to stop by. Nope! They must not care about quality or worst service. Ever. Where is management!! Skip this restaurant and go elsewhere!

I don't mind Olive Garden when the timing is right and depending on Location. In Bismarck however, be very careful if you plan on take-out. The last three visits have resulted in orders that were wrong and food that was fit only for the garbage can. Please check your order carefully before driving home. Tonight the only saving grace was that the manager and staff were understanding and professional. Now just get the food right.

Last three visits we have experienced very average food from when we began visiting the Olive Garden. Food prep almost seems like microwave food. Sever brought a Coke that was almost blonde in color. One sip and I knew the mix was way off. Brought her over to table and mentioned it. She stated "ya, the Coke was running out when I got your drink". Seriously, it never occurred to her NOT to serve it! She replaced it but forgot to bring it out until I asked again for it. This last visit the place was empty pretty much when we arrived (two of us) but they took our name and made us wait for 10-15 minutes, but we were offered to go to the bar right a way! As patrons began piling up, the bar option seemed more like a revenue gimmick, funneling folk that direction. Olive Garden is very helpful in letting you know what your tip should be. I don't penalize the server over the food quality, but Olive Garden should understand that GREAT food will overcome average servers. The best way to help wait staff is to give them a product they will be proud of serving. Last two visits our severs agreed that the food "was average at best" when we replied after being asked about our dinners! Stick with the soup and salads. You should be ok.

I know people don't consider this Italian food, but the family enjoys the food and we have eaten at the location many times, as recent as today. The service was very good by our waiter and he was sure we always had full drinks, plenty of salad and breadsticks, and made sure when our food came it was to our liking. We had the never ending pasta bowls and tried a couple different ones and all were very tasty. My kids had the usual Mac and Cheese, which they will rate 5 stars! So all in all the food was good and the service the same, we will continue to visit this location.

It's Olive Garden... Obviously subpar non-authentic Italian food. However, the service is very good at this location which would be my only reason to ever go back!

So I've never been here before. I usually go to Johnny carinos if I want Italian food, but I was forced to go here for a birthday. I really don't have anything good to say about this place. On the inside it has cheap decor and everything like the tables are really close together. It took forever to get our food and it def wasn't our servers fault. When our food finally came it came in bursts. 3 people got their meals and then 10 mins later 3 more people would get their food. The birthday girl was the last person to her food and by then everyone else was done eating. Never saw a manger all night and we would have definetly liked to talked to one about our poor service. Don't go here. Go to Johnny carinos instead!

Had a wonderful visit for a quick bite while waiting for my nightmare of refilling of a prescription at CVS. Sat at the bar around 5pm with the day bartender (didn't get his name... tall an dark haired) on Wednesday, Jan 22nd. The bartender was awesome! Very friendly and quick to get me a drink. He also told me about happy hour and promptly gave me menus. I ordered the Pear Spice martini and it was fabulous. Due to dietary restrictions, I had to modify a few things to my order and he was happy to accommodate. They also recently added goat cheese to their menu on a special flatbread they had running. I was able to get goat cheese for my minestrone soup!!! Awesome. Not too long after sitting, a fellow Seattle native sat down and he and I and the bartender got to talking Seahawks and Broncos and the Superbowl. It was great!!! The day bartender had the night guy come on, which I thought was just the second guy for the night. Daytime guy went to clock out, and I asked if I could pay out and he said to not worry about it. Being from the industry I wanted him to get his tip and the night guy said he would make sure he got it. That's awesome to see the tip will be passed to him. I love Olive Garden but don't frequent as much as I used to as I became allergic to Dairy and don't eat any meat or seafood. Thank you for making this trip awesome!!!!

Olive Garden is one of my favourite places to go for lunch. $7 gets you all the salad, soup, and fresh breadsticks you can eat. Everything was 'as expected' as far as chain restaurants go. Although tasty in their own respect, perhaps the weakest link were the soups. Would be nice to see a NEW soup on the menu because they've been the same 4 types for as long as I can remember. My family of four had an awesome, young, bubbly waitress that was extremely attentive and helpful.

bleh. I've been here several times. I've tried something new each time and always been underwhelmed. Crappy americanized Italian food. You're better off trying DiDonnas, the Walrus, or even Johnny Carrino's.

Seated promptly only to wait before anyone acknowledged my existence in the dining room, me looking around for someone to take my order. I caught the eye of several passing restaurant staff only to be completely ignored for ten to fifteen minutes. As I'm about to just walk out, a waiter appears and offers an excuse about not knowing I was in his section. Fine, your mistake - here's your chance to correct it. Nope, not this time. I ordered my drink and food at the same time since I'd been sitting so long and my soup comes out - it's just ok, and it wound up being the best part of my meal. Entree comes out - wrong pasta. "Oh, we must have ran out of capellini." Why not figure this out before bringing me an entree I didn't order? I ate it anyway since I was hungry, but it wasn't very good and wasn't what I ordered. Again, no attempt to correct the mistake. He was attentive with refills, but that doesn't excuse the ridiculous wait or that I was brought the wrong meal. I looked out the window across the street and thought that I should have gone to that Taco Bell in the distance.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
