I love eating here. The servers are always pleasant and fast, and I really believe the food is some of best Bismarck has to offer. I really like the tacos and sandwiches. The beer selection is great, and the bartender always has a recommendation of a new beer to try on their rotating taps. Seriously, check this place out!

My wife and I ate at Lucky Ducks last nite and sat outdoors on the upper patio. Fun atmosphere with a few of some roof tops and a little of downtown 4th st. I had the duck stroganoff and my wife had the pork flat bread. Both were very tasty and we ate the whole generous portions. The stroganoff is something you will not find anywhere else and it is very satisfying. The flat bread was spicy enough to get ones attention but not overpowering. The service was attentive but not intrusive. The server was kind enough to change channels on the tv and refilled beverages promptly. The only negative that I can think of was the high price of our wine for the volume of the pour. We look forward to returning again soon.

I have visited this restaurant twice, and my opinion is that it is an average sandwich shop. The upside is that they offer gluten free bread. We ordered chips and salsa for an appetizer, which took so long to arrive it came with our main meal. Service was very slow and our drinks weren't refilled in a timely manner. I ordered the pintail 2.0 sandwich, which was roast beef, Gouda, horseradish sauce, and fried jalapeños, which surprisingly weren't as strong as I thought. It was a tasty sandwich and the beef was tender, but overpriced at $10. If you're paying that much for a sandwich, it should come with a side such as fries, chips, or coleslaw.

Went here for lunch on the Pond side. Excellent atmosphere and the food was fantastic. It was a little noisy for our baby, but we were able to be out on the deck where it was a little quieter. The taco trio was fantastic. The duck taco was my favorite of the three. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and everyone at our table was happy.

Duck Marsala is the quack's quack. Definitely a repeat dish. Duck char on duck fat - definitely ducky!! Tender and healthy,, no knife needed here. Pasta cooked just right and plentiful. So much it could have been the pond of lily pads this one made it's last flight. Under the pads of pasta coursed the Shivaji mushroom and saluted onion sauce. Wow, so much sweetness was pulled from the onions. This was certainly a salacious flight of foul that lands on its own island perfection.

For having such a small kitchen they prepare and serve some tasty plates. Today I tried the mint lamb tacos and the waiter recommended soup if I was hungry. Sausage potato or knoephla were my two choices. Knoephla is pretty well known in the area so I wanted to see if Lucky Ducks could match up. I wasn't disappointed, as it had the perfect thickness and lots of potatoes. The lamb was lacking seasoning but it is new on the menu. Always amusing to watch the wait staff. I am not sure how they keep things organized. This place is home grown, has character and the food will bring you back. Try it !

The duck quesadilla is amazing!! They have pretty good knoephla soup as well. If you are ordering catering, get the bacon wrapped shrimp!

Eh. I only tried a salad, but it was a bit pricey for what I actually received. Very nice staff, nice environment. Good tap selection. Could turn the smug down on the food and it's pricing.

We ate on the Pond Side. The food was bland and underwhelming. My husband had a duck burger and it came out cooked well done. Duck should not be cooked well. It was dry and tasteless. We ordered off the kids menu for our toddler. The menu listed spaghetti with marinara, alfredo, or butter for $5. Great, perfect. We picked the marinara. When it came out it wasn't 'spaghetti noodles' it was penne. Maybe not a big deal for an adult, but for a picky toddler, the shape matters. She wouldn't eat it. Then we got the bill and we were charged extra for marinara. Our server was not very helpful and food service was really slow. I wouldn't go back.

Experience here was okay. I came because of a recommendation since I am from out of state. Street parking was super easy to find and that is a major plus since I'm visiting. I ordered The Lucky Duck with a side of fruit. When I tried to find a place to sit it appeared that the manager/owner was taking up the largest table in the place doing paperwork and making phone calls which seemed like a poor business practice because it was noon and there were people waiting to be seated. My food came out fast but I couldn't locate silverware and wasn't given any. Eating a fruit bowl just became alot more interesting. My sandwich was good, could have used more duck sauce but overall not too shabby. My plate was cleared away quickly by a very attentive young woman. The kitchen staff seemed to really have their shit together and were clearly working their asses off. I listened to them call food(which is something I use to do) and was impressed with the lack of cussing and obedience they had for the caller. Great job to them!

Excellent cafe with a thorough menu-- reasonably priced appetizers, sandwiches, and tacos. Ordered the local soup (a German dish with dumplings) and the duck taco salad. Lots of duck options (salad, pasta, drumettes) and elk burgers. Friendly staff!

I really enjoyed the Patio (The Pond) we ordered the Nachos, they were pretty dry, over cooked. a lobster flatbread which was lacking any luster, and the Avocado burger which was okay. Also ordered 4 drinks and it was $70. it was pretty pricey. The appetizer, although not that appealing was enough for a meal for two so next time, i'll just order an app. The patio is very nice and comfortable, was the best part of the experience. Next time, i'll eat somewhere else and then go here for drinks on the patio.

One of the best caramel rolls I've had! Sandwiches are good-- toasted. Pastas were excellent!

This is a review from our October 3, 2014 visit. Simply Disappointed in our visit. Four meals for a family and two were average and two were completely inedible. Short rib special was unde cooked and dry Bedford chuck. Breakfast sandwich came win pepper jack cheese that was not pallatable. Staff would not rectify either meal, said they couldn't replace or refund poor food. Staff was not attentive and we had to walk back to the kitchen to get our own silverware and correct orders. Manager didn't care that the food and service was poor. Definitely recommend skipping.

Who would have thought the best sandwich in the world would be found in Bismarck, ND? If you don't believe me, try the Redhead. Pulled pork, ham, havarti cheese, and pickles. Perfection. On our first visit, my dining companion took one bite of my Redhead and forced me to trade the rest for half of her sandwich. *sad trombone* But it was OK, because her sandwich was almost as good! We're currently working our way through the lunch menu and have yet to find anything we didn't love. It's in a great setting and the service is very good. The owners are very nice people and I'm rooting for their success. Judging from the large lunch crowds on Mondays, I won't have to root too hard. :)

Went to this place for the first time last week. It's in a nice downtown location, and it seems to be a prime example of Bismarck's up-and-coming restaurant scene. Definitely seemed to cater to the younger (20-30) crowd. The sandwiches were really good, and very reasonably priced (~$7). Most offerings appeared to be slightly modified classics (reuben, club, etc.) that were better than your average meal. The service was really slow though. Not the servers' fault, I think...it seemed like the manager didn't have people assigned to specific areas or tables, and everyone was scrambling to figure out what was going on. Don't expect a quick meal.

Wonderful little deli! Unique sandwiches, fresh sides. The redhead was super, ham and pulled pork. Polite, helpful wait staff. Quick service.

Was spending one might in Bismark in the middle of a road trip. Seemed impossible to find a healthy choice. But this place has high quality ingredients. Got the Lucky Duck Burger and the Langostine Lobster and Shrimp Pasta. Both were amazing and my burger was light and didnt make me feel groggy and bloated after. Delivery was exactly on time. No complaints about this place. Do it.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!! The special was tomato bisque and grilled cheese. The order was to to and was told it would take 20 minutes if we picked it up versus having it delivered. Went to pick up the food, the line was not bad but it took an hour and 15 minutes to get the food. The tomato bisque was nice and hot but the sandwich was warm bread with butter and melted cheese. If the food were spectacular I could forgive the wait, but I was very disappointed. Do go if they seem too busy because you will not be a happy customer.

I was very impressed with this restaurant. The food is amazing at a fair price. It is one of the only local places around and I like that the only downside is the service could be a little better.

This place is amazing. I was driving through Bismarck looking for a place to eat lunch with my dad and stumbled upon the Lucky Duck. We split a couple of sandwiches (the Italian one and then the sub with taco meat) which were both phenomenal. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the Bismarck area!

One of the best places in Bismarck. Innovative but solid food. Fresh and quality ingredients. Good service. Soups. Chili. Parking is pretty easy and service is fast.

I had the quesadilla with chicken and added a side of Mexican rice and beans. So much food that I had it for lunch the next day. Very tasty and cooked perfectly. I like I nice golden color to my quesadilla and it was spot on. This meal was delicious and a great value too. Not really fast for a deli from order to table delivery but the meal was worth the wait. Definitely a repeat place for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Great food and very nice setup. I was very impressed with the quality of the food and service and really enjoyed the place. They have an interesting menu with many duck dishes. I had the Taco trio (duck, beef and chicken tacos) and the duck taco was by far the best. Definitely worth the visit and will definitely be back soon. This is also one of the more kid friendly restaurants downtown which is a really great plus.

The food was great and the service was excellent! The staff and management were helpful and friendly. Love the two for one beers during NFL games. The only problem we had was the music was too loud!! Maybe we are getting old, but we like to talk in a normal tone.

My first visit to this relatively-new restaurant in downtown Bismarck was Thursday July 10. My family heard great things about this deli, but from the get-go we weren't impressed. We were seated in "The Pond," which apparently still is the same restaurant as Lucky Ducks but with a dinner menu...? The atmosphere was very loud as to be expected for a bar; the music was so loud and conversations couldn't be conducted. But the reason I can only give this establishment two stars is because the service was dreadful! Many of the servers and waiters/waitresses were just standing around. My bowl of knoepfla soup was forgotten and when I asked our server about it -- since she served another member of our party their soup -- she just looked at me and walked away. We were missing dinnerware and condiments on the table. Only half of our food arrived when we were first served. Elements were missing from our meal the menu promised. Two people in our party finally were served their sandwiches after everyone else was done eating (or their food was cold from waiting). Our waitress apologized but never said what happened. We observed many servers coming out of the kitchen with plates of food but they looked entirely lost on which table to serve it to. They were calling out to waiters and waitresses asking where they should take it to. It seemed like chaos! The food wasn't bad... but our horrible customer service experience put a foul taste in our mouths. Side pickles were missing on many of our plates -- interesting since our waitress specifically asked us what sort of side pickle we'd like, dill or spicy. The knoepfla soup was too salty and the knoepfla itself was too big for one bite. There was only one piece of duck bacon on my Lucky Duck sandwich. Lucky Duck's is a wonderful, unique, local food venue for downtown Bismarck, and the city needs more spots like this. But its customer service needs to improve and become organized. Not sure, I'll be back.

This place rocks. And it's only gotten cooler as the year goes on. The sandwiches are unusual twists on the deli sandwich standards (my favourite: the woodduck a toasted delight of mozzarella roasted red peppers and tomatoes). They also serve tacos, soups and salads, and have a dinner menu with burgers and pasta. And have a breakfast menu too. For summer, they started appetisers menu to go along with their evening music schedule. Beer and wine and coffee is available. The only downside. They keep Bismarck hours.

I crave the redhead! The food here is fantastic, I have had consistently good food here. The service isn't very prompt and the owner guy is interesting, he made a few weird comments about his staff being "stoned" when I was here with a friend... I'll be back for the food though!

While on vacation for a week in Bismarck I had the opportunity to try breakfast, lunch and cocktails here on all different days. First was for breakfast, we had their caramel rolls-they were pretty good, but would have been really awesome if they were served warm and they didn't have ice cream which I thought for a restaurant was kind of weird. I like my caramel rolls warm with a scoop of ice cream on top instead of with butter or milk. I would highly suggest getting these caramel rolls for the office-they really were ooey gooey good!!! If they were warm I'd say they would have been the best I've ever eaten. Two days later we went for drinks and live music- music was good-a little loud for as small of area they had, but the service was awful. We got our first drinks fast while there was only 3 tables out on the patio but as soon as the patio filled we never saw our waitress again and they were not short staffed-I counted 6 servers and that was not counting the 3 owners/managers-only one of them was actually taking and delivering and/or working. There were 7 tables without drinks for just over 20 minutes-that's sad!!! I'm a business owner and I step in whenever I see the need-there was definitely a need!!! Then we had lunch there the next day, this was already on our preplanned itinerary. The service was much better than the night before and the food was pretty good-heads up I like spicy food (I live in Texas now and have acclimated to very hot food), but the pork tacos will set your mouth and lips on fire for at least 3 glasses of water worth and about 20 minutes-they could use a little less chili oil to make them manageable and amazing because the flavor was definitely there but they were too hot to enjoy. As a whole I give it 2 stars for unique menu and good lunch service-unfortunately the other 2 experiences were not so good. Hope they can increase their revenue by getting some good night help-less chitchat ting and more working-drinks, drinks, drinks means tips tips tips and $$$ for owners! Good luck

This place has a large selection of tasty sandwiches, soups, and side dishes. I was really surprised by the quality of the meat and bread in my sandwich. I had the Mallard and my wife had the Lucky Duck. I would recommend both, and we will be returning to try the others.

Very good sandwiches. We absolutely love the outdoor patio in the summer with the bands playing while we eat or sit and enjoy the show. Awesome atmosphere!

The staff were friendly and attentive, and my food was prepared quickly and correctly. I wasn't crazy about the food, though. I had the Southwest Salad. The chicken was dry and leathery, the lettuce was limp, and there was way too much raw onion. Raw onion has no business being in a salad at all, yet that is all I tasted.
