Went here with a friend. The margaritas were really good, made with fresh lime juice. The fajitas were excellent, and the salad that came with them was really good, too. We ate out on the patio at about 8pm on a Friday night and were seated right away. It was a great night to sit outside. Our waitress was helpful and attentive. I was beginning to think that Bismarck didn't have decent Mexican food until I came here...will definitely return.

By far the greatest resturaunt ever. Come here every saturday, our waitress is so kind. I order pollo fundido, the chicken is warm and delicious! I highly reccomend this resturaunt for everyone.

I thought the food here was just fine, but nothing extraordinary. The chips and salsa were tasty. I appreciated the chips being warm and I liked the small kick from the salsa. I ordered the Supreme Enchiladas - one ground beef, one chicken, one bean and one cheese. The enchiladas were covered with lettuce, an off-center dollop of sour cream and one small slice of tomato. The red sauce was good, but it also was oddly placed on the platter, making it difficult to include some in each bite. It was just a little awkward to eat and the flavor was nothing special. Service was not great. My water was never refilled. They do have a HUGE menu, so perhaps my selection was not one of their best.

Chips and Salsa, marvelous. Our server Juan is top notch. He has a great sense of humor and is very knowledgable about the menu and the history of the restaurant. Will definitely go back when I am in Bismarck, ND.

I have traveled to Mexico several times and have taken Mexican cooking classes, so I am always looking for good Mexican food. I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant ! I ordered chilequiles, which were delicious! Everyone else at my table said their entree was delicious. I would've given them 5 stars, but the beverages were not refilled very quickly. I will definitely go back when I am visiting Bismarck.

They serve pretty good food here and they have good lunch specials. The chips came out first and they were warm and tasty. The salsa had a ketchup-like flavor and consistency I didn't care for. I ordered my lunch special; which came with a chimichanga and sipped on my margarita while I waited. The food was pretty tasty. It was all just a little dry and could've used a lot more sauce (which I actually thought was the tastiest thing on the plate). Their billing method is very archaic. My waitress handed me a slip of paper that showed the math she had done on a calculator. I was not surprised to find I'd been charged an extra seven dollars and change for something I didn't order. The waitress was very nice and I am not accusing anyone of deception; it was just busy and she is fashioning bills out of very crude implements.

Really good Mexican food. like top ten ever good. Who knew? the last time I had Mexican food away from California or Mexico was in Topeka KS.. I think they got most things frozen from Canada! Great place and great service.

Easily the best Mexican restaurant in Bismarck, possibly in North Dakota! Everything is great from the salsa to the fried ice cream! The pollo fundido is my favorite dish, it's delicious. The restaurant is small so maybe not the best for huge groups but there is hardly ever a wait, even on weekends. Awesome place.

Love, Love the Shrimp Cocktail. This is an example of the concept of this restaurant. Ordinary dishes made extraordinary. Warm tortilla chips, flavorful salsa just to start the meal. A must try in Bismarck.

Went in and sat down, the young man who served us was rather nice and attentive. The chips and salsa that were bright to the table were from the bag but warmed, the salsa had a little flavor. I ordered the fajitas which were ok, more onions and bell peppers than meat, the guacamole was watery with no flavor and thinking you can't go bad with the lettuce they have on the plate, we it was!!. The flower tortillas were NOT homemade but maybe store bought, they got cold and hard fast. My mom has juevos rancheros which were only fried eggs with chile on top, her coffee was Luke warm . There was a real spider that was on the wall that joined us. NOT to happy about that cuz I am arachnophobic. The only thing I can say is that the rice and beans were good. That's all!! Guess I shouldn't expect authentic Mexican Food up here in North Dakota, but I gave it a try just the same! Only 3 stars for effort!!

It's almost perfect... Fresh chips and good salsa to start. Chorizo-queso dip is an interesting and delicious concoction. Beef enchilada was disappointing only because it was ground beef. Tamales is spot on. Refried beans needs MOORE Lard. Please start serving horchata... I need that in my life.

I can't believe this place is in Bismarck! It's just 5 months old and should definitely stand the test of time, if they continue to provide this kind of quality---which is a very difficult thing for restaurants to do, as I'm sure you are aware. I am from Colorado and still looking for a great Mexican restaurant there, like this one. Great choices of tequila and the Chile Verde was so tender and flavorful. Excellent homemade tortilla chips with authentic salsa that has just the right zip.

As close to authentic as you can find in North Dakota. 9 out of 10 times I go the food is excellent. To me it's a little pricey, but it's a good place. I always over eat here. (dam them!)

I admit I celebrated a little to find out that the previous restaurant occupying this building is gone. In its place is a great little Mexican joint, and far more authentic than Sergio's or Paradiso. I usually judge Mexican places on the quality and taste of the chips and salsa. I really liked the salsa! The chips were just ok, but overall they're pretty good. I usually always order a chimichanga with queso on the side. It was great! My friend had the chicken version and that was great too. The service is also great. We were served immediately and I think our food took about ten minutes. It was very quick. Our server, Luis, was very friendly. Another great addition to the Bismarck foodie scene!

Food was mediocre at best. Ordered a fajita that was warm (not sizzling). Sent it back only to get reheated, dried out meat. Server was terrible (and questionably drunk). Awful service. Would never go back.

Fantastic food and service. They easily accommodated out party of 13. The waiter was awesome - food came fast - they refilled the chips and salsa as needed and the food tasted great. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I was surprised to find a Hispanic restaurant in Bismarck. Its menu is completely in english and there are many pictures. It lacks the variety I'm used to in Los Angeles but the food is great and I'm happy to see more diversity in our small town.

Pretty solid Mexican food. Not the best I've ever had, but the food was definitely decent. The margaritas also got the job done. I'd go back.

Finally a decent mexican restaurant in Bismarck! The food was really good (compared to the selection in the area). As ex Texans my husband and I gauge a mexi restaurant by the rice in beans and the chips and salsa. The rice had unnecessary veggies in them but was pretty good. The beans were REALLY flavorful. Stingy on the tortillas with my Fajitas but was pleasantly surprised when I wasn't charged extra tortillas. Great flavor on the fajitas, the chicken was in small pieces but was ALL WHITE meat and was very very juicy. However, there were some very odd moments. Our server seemed too busy and frantic every time he stopped by, yet three other servers lounged at the bar staring at us eat.....it was very very odd. They apparently ran out of chips (I know! ) and a server told us it would take him 30 minutes to get some.....ummmmm 30 minutes to tear corn tortillas and throw them in the fryer....really?!? But when another customer asked (30 min later) he had the same spiel....apparently we need to tell him "yes, please go make the chips, I understand it takes 30 minutes and I probably won't need them then, but the future customers will thank me" Other than some oddities with the service staff the chicken fajitas were phenomenal!! Will try it again, hopefully to try the chips and salsa (although sources have told me its crappy jarred) Read your receipts (they do not have itemized print outs, they look like accountant tape) just to double check, we were charged for water but the server apologized and fixed it.

My family of four arrived on a Saturday evening at 7:00 pm and there was a 30 minute wait to get in but it was well worth it! Service was excellent, food was fantastic, price reasonable, portions large, and the Margaritas were great too! What more could you ask for? I thought the menu selection was perfect; enough items to choose from, few enough that it wasn't overwhelming. We will definitely go back!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
