I like to think I know good que when I eat it. Famous Dave's was a very pleasant surprise here in Bismarck, ND -- the land of walleye. I had the hot link and brisket combo for lunch and it was very good. The link had a good char and was obviously made with a natural casing because it popped when I bit into it. The brisket was very tender and had a visible smoke ring. The Devil's Spit sauce was nice and hot. Their sauces must cook for a while because they are very smooth without any raw flavors or grit. The cole slaw was a bit sweet for my taste, but otherwise very good!! I'll definitely come here again.

Came in at the tail end of the lunch rush. Had to wait to be seated because the kitchen was behind. Once seated, service was quick and the food good. 2 in our party ordered stuffed potatoes but they were out. I have always loved Famous Dave's BBQ and this meal met their standard of quality. A few in our party had never been here. Unlike other locations, this one does not do a sauce demonstration or provide potato chips to test the sauces.

Was really looking forward to the bread pudding as the reviews talked up the flavors and textures but it was something we could have bought our selves from the store. They have a really good banana pudding so if you are in the mood for something sweet you can feel safe the banana pudding is good.

This is a chain, so lets not pretend that we are going to be getting world class BBQ. I stopped in on a Monday night. They were closing early for some reason, but still (reluctantly) decided to serve me. After hailing down the waitress in the bar area, I ordered a beer ($5.99). After getting my beer, I decided to order a burger. I settled on the Devils spit burger ($11.59). The burger was average at best (2.5/5), which was a bit disappointing. Perhaps I was there on a bad night, but staff was really unhelpful and generally disinterested in helping me out. I've had their BBQ at other locations before and it's actually pretty good - but this was a different experience. I can't recommend this place with a mediocre burger, and I'm probably not going to be back.

While visiting my daughter we decided to go Famous Dave's for lunch. I had the Georgia chopped pork. Interesting since I live in Georgia. The pork was very good, the fries great. Got the baked beans but they came out barely warm, so any flavor was lost because of that. We got the "burnt ends" appetizer. This is no pit masters secret of the brisket. It is all the fatty pieces cut off and seared crisp to mask the fact they are scraps of meat meant for the garbage. I paid $8.99 for fat scaps cut off the brisket...did I mention how few of them there were? My daughter said the green beans were awful and to NEVER get them. Also, we got some banana pudding to go, but some of it was oddly laced with some garlic flavoring. Really?? Yes, really. I would give them a second try because the pork and fries were good, however; for what it costs to eat here it is two strikes to be out, not three. Snaps for great decor and great service. Step up your game on the side dishes to add stars. The south still has better BarBQ...check Jim n Nicks for THE best.

For a place famous. They sure do serve bad food. The only thing above room temp were the French fries. The mashed potatoes were luke warm. The ribs. DRY AND COLD. If these weren't cooked yesterday then the cook fell asleep at the wheel. These things are no where near worth $24.

Of all the chain BBQ places I've stopped at, this one is right up near the top. Fantastic choice of rib styles and great sides

Just finished eating here and the service was just as good as I remember. My server was Brett in the bar and he checked on my table regularly which was great. Can't wait to go back and sit in Bretts section again.

Brunch on Sunday where you can't go wrong with cheesy hash browns. Top notch service with a smile on top of great food with great prices is what keeps me coming back.

The food is standard Famous Dave's. The service is good and the food came out quickly. The restaurant has decent parking, but it can be overfilled quickly.

This is the worst dining experiences I've had in along time the meal was over cooked and it taste like shoe leather. The last time I visited famous Dave's the meal was way better than It was today this was by far the worst experience I've had todate at famous Dave's. The meal that my wife and i got tonight tasted like some other yesterdays leftovers

Had the Ultimate feast. With ribs brisket and chicken. I think they do a great job on their chicken. The brisket is very good with a nice smoke flavor and it is tender as well. The kids menu is pretty good as well. I have been to this place many times and it is hit and miss. The beer is always nice and cold. No real complaints just a typical chain.

If you like BBQ and smoked meat you should really try Famous Dave's! My family of four all ordered different items. In order of preference they were: ribs tips, pulled pork, pulled chicken, & Cajun chicken... everyone immensely enjoyed their meal. The BBQ sauces were cool; each one with their own unique taste. Meat was tender, portions were plentiful, and the service was everything we could ask for. Possibly my favourite meal in Bismarck this week! Of course I had to "ring the bell" on the way out. We will definitely return and next time order the St. Louis cut of ribs!

Ribs were tough, the brisket was very good. They ran out of the appetized I wanted and I had slow service in the bar. Since I was a group of one, they said, take a table in the bar. I would not go back. Better BBQ in many other places....

Dave's is a great place to grab a meal! The food is always tasty and plentiful. 9 out of 10 times the service is stellar. If you haven't tried it, you must hit up the brunch buffet on Sundays from 11 till 2. They stock they're most famous meats, potatoes, beans, scrambled eggs, caramel rolls, desserts, and more on one massive buffet table. Don't forget to ring the bell on your way out!

Dave's saw my review, sent me a coupon. So I went back and tried the salmon a third time. It was as good as the first time...moist, tender. I'm glad I tried it...I 'm a fan again. One caveat...and I swear I'm not bucking for a coupon...Dave's in Bismarck struggles to keep the iced tea fresh. Otherwise, Famous Dave's is one of my favorites!

I've been here several times with family and friends. They have a large menu, and friendly service. Too bad they have terrible food. I've tried the ribs, the pulled pork, and the steak. Each of them tasted like buffet food.

Best thing going in Bismarck!!! This one is easy! In six weeks, I've been to Famous Dave's five times. Since I spend a lot of my off-work time alone, Dave's is the perect spot for me to go, sit in the bar, and watch the NBA Playoffs while I dine. I've had the ribs, chicken, ham, catfish fingers, and cod fillet. All are good! The corn, cornbread muffins, baked beans, and cole slaw are all good! All of the sauces are good! The sweet tea is perfectly prepared! A mini bread pudding tops off any meal, whether I finish my food or not, simply because it has the best sauce I've ever tasted - even in New Orleans! Service is adequate and a bit friendlier considering the area (see my Bistro review). Famous Dave's serves award-winning bar-b-que and is, arguably, one of the best I have encountered in the country.
