Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

This is one of the most under rated resturants in the are the food is absolutely the best!! The only reason it's not getting 5 stars is the building needs a lot of help but like I said the food makes up for everything else.

Gyros was awful. I actually know how it supposed to taste like and it has nothing to do with it. Never again. First time I gave the food back!

We love their Greek food, pizza, soup & bread! We've traveled everywhere- so happy to find good pizza and Greek in such a small southern town!

Great food, nice and helpful staff, fair prices. I recommend the calzone, a small will more than fill you up! They also offer you this puffy bread when you first sit down and it is absolutely amazing!

My wife and I ate at Mizo's yesterday for lunch. The restaurant could use an updating. The windows were terribly dirty. We started not to go in, but thought we'd stick with our plan and eat there. The inside was drab and looked like it was from the 70's. The waiter was above average and ready to help. The salad was crisp, fresh and excellent. We got one pack of two captain's crackers each. You'd think they'd put a basket on the table like most places do. If they think the patrons will steal their crackers, at least give them 3 packs per person. The biggest minus was the lasagna. It was lasagna noodles in a soupy sauce. No ricotta cheese in the dish. No layers. It was like tomato ketchup and noodle soup. Yuck ! Not even close to lasagna. I couldn't eat it. It was awful. The Stromboli was fair, I'd give it a 5 or 6 out of 10. Meedo's in Conover or Lenoir puts this place to shame. The fountain drinks were good and the waiter brought us each a new glass full as we were about to run out. With quite a few adjustments it has potential, but we won't go back. I'm going to have nightmares thinking about that lasagna. I don't think they have a clue as to how it's made. It tasted exactly like Chef Boyardee in a can, that I remember from childhood. I didn't like that taste then, and I definitely don't like it as an adult. Visited June 2014

I absolutely love Mizos! Their food is authentic, made to order, fresh. The pizza dough is made from scratch. And the prices are really good. I'm thankful to have a restaurant that serves so many great things in Alexander County, like calzones, strombolis, baked pastas, subs, salads, great chicken wings, pizza... I really haven't had anything there that I didn't love! I highly recommend Mizos!
