Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I've visited the Chlt location many times & always felt welcomed and well taken care of. I felt the GSO location didn't quite hit their mark. The initial greeting from the hostess was nice. The manager, though, not so much. He was seating us at a small 2-top against the wall & when we asked for the booth he said flat-out No, they were very busy. That table sat empty our entire visit & there were other large tables available throughout our time there. Ridiculous...especially because we got there a little before 6 & they were closing at 7:30. Lauren, our server, took awhile to get there & there were long breaks between coming to the table with our water, then our drinks, then taking our order. She was nice, but we never saw here again once our food came to the table (delivered by others) & we had to ask for her to get our check. The food is consistently similar with the Chlt location although to me it was slightly less flavorful; but that may have been my taste buds. We had the spaghetti, the mussels & the beet salad. I'd recommend it, but not for the service. The parking is limited, but there is overflow nearby as this is on the back side of Friendly Center. Funny to me to be in this restaurant as it used to be the Wachovia Bank location (pre-First Union Merger) & I worked there for several years.

Shocking the waiter went behind the table in the service area and Called me a cusssssss word name... WOW unprofessional all because I complained about my burger being raw

Well it's Wolfgang's, if you can get past paying a little more it is a consistently good food spot. I haven't had something I didn't like and there is the great idea of reservations that keeps us coming back. If you haven't tried Wolfgang's it is worth giving it a go, they have the right and for that it will have us coming back.

Pretty cool spot in town to have a cocktail at the bar and watch some sports. The only food I had were the French fries and they were awesome!! I will go back.
(4)Janet T.
This place is amazing. The decor is beautiful. The menu is delish. Finally found a place to take my picky husband.

I would like to start off by saying I have eaten at Wolfgang a number of times and the staff and food are actually pretty good- I would give them 3 out of 5 stars. Favorite items are the calamari, rigatoni, cheese ravioli, and always get the seasonal cobbler- you won't regret it. They also have one of the best Caesar salads I have ever had, it comes with a goat cheese laden crostini that is amazing! Unfortunately, I will not be returning here as long as Larry Morgan remains the manager. He profiles clients based on appearance, and actually accused my boyfriend of stealing food when he went in to pick up prepaid online order!!!! Ummmm, no thanks. Stick to Lucky 32, Green Valley Grille, 1618, and Printworks if you actually want a nice, somewhat upscale dinning experience without a slimy scumbag lurking over your shoulder. Clearly, they don't need anyone's business if this is the way clients are treated.

Why advertise a gluten free menu (and hand one to a customer who requests one) if you have nothing on it? Having been to Wolfgang steakhouses, I was very excited to try this Pizza Bar while in town. I looked ahead to see that they had a gluten free selection and was thrilled when I saw they had a whole menu. Only to find out they were entirely out of GF pizza dough when I arrived- really? You're a pizza bar! So I asked for two of the GF appetizers as my meal. They had neither of those either-- which I found out after asking twice because the waiter never followed up to let me know they were out. The waiter proceeded to ask me "how sensitive" I was to gluten because they could get creative with the regular menu items. Anyone who is truly gluten free will understand how infuriating this question was. I ended up having a large Pinot Grigio while my friends had [what smelled like] a delicious pizza but not the Stella Artois they ordered - because they were of of that as well.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while, so I finally went for lunch last week. The atmosphere is nice. It's modern and open and has a patio. I ordered a house Merlot but was informed they didn't have one. I ended up with a red blend and it was ok. I wanted pizza but tried to do the healthier option and got a salad. The menu salad choices were reasonably priced at $8-$10 and an additional $4 to add shrimp. The waiter said they had a "feature" salad that sounded comparable and they could add shrimp. The salad was good and the shrimp was great. Big juicy shrimp with a nice flavor. There was no bread or crackers that came with the salad, so I'm assuming that is customary. The waiter was attentive and professional. I was a little shocked when we got the bill and the salad was $14 and $6 for the added shrimp (4 shrimp). So, I paid $20 for a salad and $9 for an ok glass of wine. With tax and tip, my lunch was almost $40........ouch! Definitely not worth that price! If I return, I'll try the pizza instead.

I want to start out by saying, we usually really like this restaurant. But this weekend we went in for a late lunch. It was around 3 o'clock. There were only a few tables occupied. We waited at the door in about five minutes before any of the the many distracted servers noticed us. When we were going to be seated near one noisy table we asked to sit in the back in a quiet area. Instead she seated by another noisy table, when really there were plenty of empty tables towards the back available. We waited about 20 minutes and no one took our order or even brought water. We walked out. We probably won't be back. We ended up going across the street to Green Valley Grille. For about the same price, we got much better atmosphere, food, and the full, but not overdone attention, of about six staff members including being greeted immediately by two hostesses and taken excellent care of by four servers.

I am a closet pizza snob, and WPPB has the absolute best crust. Light to Medium heaviness dough with lots of puffy, large air bubbles in the edges, crispy and chewy at the same time, not too salty. Unbelievably good pizza crust. I am a regular just because of the pizza. The calamari is very tasty but was served on a dead plate of shredded lettuce (who eats the bed of lettuce anyway?). The spaghetti and basil was ten star delicious, but not much sauce, just enough to keep the pasta from sticking, but i usually like a small pool of sauce on top. And no bread with the spaghetti? If they had served rolls made with the pizza dough, i would have given 5 stars and maybe rent an apartment across the street.
(4)David W.
Excellent all round. The service was perfect. Our server was the perfect form of friendly, helpful and attentive. The atmosphere was upscale and yet relaxed with modern styling and classic French touches (just check out water carafe on the tables and you'll see what I mean). The food was excellent. She had gemelli and I had the mushroom pizza. The tastes were sophisticated and delicious. Highly recommend.
(5)Jess M.
This place is expensive, but worth it. It is delicious and the drinks are great. They have more than just pizza. This is like a Macaroni Grill on steroids with awesome wine and great service. The atmosphere is cool and they have music playing in the background. The waitresses are hot and friendly. Check it out and be ready to spend some cash on a well worth it Wolfgang's.
(4)Eric P.
Really good fresh food. Gluten free pasta was prepared well. Pizza was very good as well. A bit pricey as it was almost $50 for two people to share the two aforementioned entrees and a side of the Parmesan fries with two teas. Good quality though. Service was very attentive as well.

Obviously everyone who has rated this restaurant works there. I should have known it was going to bebad when I walked in by myself at 12:45 today and the hostess said, "how can I help you today?". OK apparently you missed your MENSA meeting, this is a restaurant AND it is kinda lunch hour. I REALLY wanted to say, "Yeah, I'd like to take $25.00 out of my checking account." Really? why else would I be there? I was a bit taken aback but said , "one for lunch please". And yup, she responded... "just you?". I should have explained to her that that is what "one" means. The food, I asked for my pizza with "really easy on the cheese please". It came smothered. II swear the manager watched me put food in my mouth before he came over to ask how things were, in fact he did it twice. Fries were bland and the pizza was just not impressive. There are better places in G'boro!!!

While visiting friends at UNC greensboro I asked for a recommendation on where I should go to dinner before I headed home and one of them mentioned Wolfgang Puck. I am so happy that I went. I went on 4:30pm on a Friday and was one of the only ones in the restaurant. There is a great atmosphere and the interior is very nice. There is a bar with bar stools, booths, tables, and small tables for two. My waiter, Terrence, gave excellent service and was friendly, knowledgable, and attentive without being overbearing. I started with the Butternut Squash soup ($8). It was creamy, rich, and sweet, and the presentation was great. I also had the Wild Mushroom pizza, to which I added Fennel Sausage ($18 total), a recommendation from my waiter. It was incredible. The goat cheese is creamy and delicious. Their pizzas are 9" and cut into 4 slices. I was very full between half of the pizza and the soup. By the time I left, around 5:45, the restaurant was a lot busier and there was a line of people waiting to be seated. I definitely recommend eating here and will be back again if I'm in Greensboro again.

Came here on a recent trip to Greensboro with family, who said this is the new "place to be". My boyfriend and I shared the roasted wild mushroom pizza, caesar salad, and sides of polenta and french fries. The pizza was about 8 slices, big enough to share. It was absolutely delicious!! The caesar salad was pretty standard as well as the french fries. The polenta had a cheesy blend inside which made it extra tasty. The chocolate gelato is rich and creamy. Service was slow and a bit less than extraordinary but I suppose part of that is due to how busy they were. The place was absolutely PACKED on a Saturday night so I would recommend making a reservation!
(4)Greg P.
Stopped by for dinner on Saturday night - yes it was packed, but the service was excellent! We started off with the calamari which was pretty good - average with other restaurants. We ordered a side of alfredo sauce that kicked it through the roof - so be sure to do that! We also ordered the Lamb Sausage Pizza which had eggplant and caramelized onions - awesome! My wife ordered the Cavatappi pasta which was various mushrooms and grilled chicken in an alfredo type sauce - it was really really good. Our son had the Cheese Pizza which was really fresh and as large as the regular pizzas - he loved it. The wine list is a good value - half carafe option is a pretty good deal as it is cheaper than 2 glasses separately. Limited but good selection of beers on tap as well.
(4)Hank C.
Love this place! Yes, it's busy on Friday and Saturday nights... That's because it's really good!! If you don't like to wait, make a reservation... That's what we do. My wife and I have eaten here 5 or 6 times and its been great every time. The wild mushroom pizza is my favorite. The hummus is awesome! The service has always been good also... If. You haven't tried it, please do so. It's awesome!
(5)Kenneth T.
Overpriced. Wine menu is overpriced and limited in choices. Beer list is weak at best. Pizzas were over cooked and over priced. Mussels were smaller than miniature and dry. With all the very good restaurant options in Greensboro why would one go to this mediocre place?
(2)Jay M.
Very nice ambience . Good selection of pies. Nice bar and patio. Make a reservation or you'll have a wait.
(4)Kimberly H.
This place was okay, just okay. I think you pay for the name. Atmosphere was nice and the service was good. Prices are high for what you get, and it's nothing to write home about.
(2)Bobby C.
I am not typically a fan of chain restaurants but I really enjoyed this one. The mushroom pizza is awesome, although I couldn't detect the advertised truffle oil. The hummus is quite good, but in my opinion the same that you can buy in any grocery store. The beer selection is small but varied, with about 8 local to local-ish beers on tap. Scotch selection is minute, but they have two really good choices; would definitely come here again. (Not that I would expect to find any good Scotch in a pizza place, but Lavagulin 16 and Macallan 18 are nice.)
(4)Sue P.
Third time there, each w/different food. Clam pizza was better than OK, salad with chicken was meh, and the chicken sandwich was a mouthful. Always great service, clean and inviting, a little pricey for lunch. The single pizzas are great (I always take some home). The sandwich roll was too much for the insides and the fries were ordinary. Stick with the specials.
(3)Sendil K.
Amazing. Incredible Calamari-appetizer (perhaps the best I've ever had.) Pizza: Goat cheese excellent, tasty, mouth watering just thinking of it. Wild Mushroom, almost as good. Only issue-it's so great, parking fills up quickly because of location (to be fair, part of it may be, it's grand opening.) nice venue, because it was so crowded, it did get a little loud.
(5)Dave W.
Second meal at the new Wolfgang Puck Pizza Bar...not that great. Food is pretty much standard Americanized Italian--it's OK, but not memorable. Server was annoyingly intrusive, constantly interrupting our dinner conversation to "get that plate out of your way" or asking if we wanted to order something else. I did like that a number of wines were served by the glass, carafe (really a half-carafe of 2 glasses). My suggestion for Greensboro great pizza and salads: go to Sticks and Stones. For wonderful REAL Italian food, go to Nico's in downtown.
(3)Dawn W.
My experience here was just ok. The spicy rock shrimp pizza sounded better than it tasted but it was good. The sausage pizza was really flavorful! Our waiter Stacey was not very good at all. We waited around for him for everything. Asked for a straw and it seemed like it was an issue. Waited 15 minutes for it while he waited on others. He came back over with the straw and placed it on the table despite my hudband having his hand out. Gross! Then after we finished eating he was nowhere to be found. He finally showed up and said he'd box the rest of my pizza up. Ten minutes later he comes back with my pizza wrapped in tin foil!!! WTF?!!? I miiiight come back here but it won't be anytime soon. Everyone else in the restaurant was very pleasant.
(3)Piper G.
My boyfriend and wanted to try it out. The service was great, and the food was fresh, adventurous, and delicious. A great competitor against Print Works if you don't want to pay the high bill for great service and dinner. I hate it when I go someplace and the waiter acts like he/she needs to be the center of attention. This place had a great atmosphere - couldn't even tell it had been a bank!
(5)Tamara R.
The staff remember your name and Julian recalled my drink order after one visit months prior. The food is fabulous!!!! The environment is very cool and seating at bar is comfortable. Local favorite.... I am new in town and so glad this place is here.
(5)Yung B.
Fantastic we got 2 pies including the most expensive one on the menu ($17) and a salad and escaped for $33 amazing everything!! must try in Greensboro
(5)Gayland P.
best pizza ever. The pizza dough is killer....the prices are very high but this is my guilty pleasure.
(5)George W.
Went out to Wolfgang Puck Pizza Bar with co-workers from out of town. A Monday night and it was not overly crowded, but a good amount of people. I sat down and though the guy hostess (?) was annoying, our waitress was very nice and attentive. I noticed there were more items (entree's and sandwiches) on the menu, I was told they were added about a week ago. I was also informed that the pizza was changed, the same amount of dough, just a smaller radius to create a thicker crust. It seems people complained that the previous set up was too thin. I think this is a big mistake, they had it pretty good the first time. Now you have an overly thick edge and a smaller area to hold their quality and fresh toppings. A fail. I had no interest in finishing the pizza with its excessive, overly chewy crust. for what is was, the pizza was at least flavorful. The rest of our meal was very good, with prosciutto and arugula appetizer, fresh salad and Gemelli. I think I will however stick to "Stick and Stones" as I was coming here for the pizza.
(3)Jessica D.
I decided to stop in here for lunch and expected for the prices to be a little more on the premium side being that it is a Wolfgang Puck franchise, which they were. For the food, everything tasted great and the presentation was on point. I ordered the chef's seasonal soup, which was butternut squash. The texture and the flavor was pleasantly smooth and mellow. I then proceeded to order the spinach and smoked mozzarella salad which had red onions, crispy potatoes & warm pancetta vinaigrette. I never had a salad with warm dressing on it but to my surprise it was very delightful and full of flavor and complements the chilly weather quite well. My server was nice and friendly but the only thing I couldn't get past was the fact that his hair was not tied back which could be a big problem when working in a restaurant. Other than that everything was very good!
(4)Paul L.
Great pizza!! I had the goat cheese and house made Lamb. Wonderful!! Great Draft Beers and wine selection.
(5)Monty F.
Love this place. Great mussels. Great gluten free pizza. Geeat salads. Great bar. Friendly staff. Larry Morgan - that just about says it all. Larry has helped create a wonderful go-to restaurant for me and my family. We love to eat here for family and work meetings. It's incredibly convenient because it's right off Wendover and at Friendly Shopping Center. Everyone can meet here and eat here. Definitely worth the first try. Just be prepared to back!
(5)Emily M.
I came here not too long after this place opened, and I got the salmon pizza, not sure what the technical name is and it was delicious. I was craving the same pizza the other day, so I came here with my boyfriend. I ordered the meatball appetizer, and was really disappointed that it only came with three meatballs! $12 for three meatballs is ridiculous, and they weren't even big. At least they were good. When I received the smoked salmon pizza, I was excited but that excitement soon vanished as I bit into burnt, charred crust. Where does this place get off charging $18.50 for a small pizza with a black, burnt, crumbly thin crust?! I was really pissed. I rarely ever say anything about bad food but I asked the waiter if it was usually like that and he said yes! I guess the people that like this say to them self: "Mmmm I just love the taste of burnt crust, even burnt crumbs...sometimes I even go through my toaster oven and pick up those burnt pieces of tasty goodness!!!" Wtf. Really. I knew the guy was lying as any sane person would not enjoy consuming bitter black burnt crust. I showed him the bottom and told him it tasted very burnt (which was taking away from me enjoying the salmon) and he said he would be glad to remake it. My boyfriend had already received his burger at this point so the waiter offered to box the pizza up for me (the new one) and I said yes... In all honesty I wanted to get out because they had a large family birthday party at the table next to us and they were being so loud and obnoxious... I mean really if you act like that, please have your celebrations at home....Perhaps they had too much communion wine at church that day as it was on a Sunday afternoon. Anyway, I got the pizza and I would have rated this two stars had the waiter not taken the pizza off the bill. I didn't even had to pay for it, which was nice, but sadly I will still not return. They also have a crappy beer list in my opinion.
(3)Kari P.
Something changed at this place. A shift in management, maybe? I used to go to this place ALL THE TIME. I loved it. Never left dissatisfied. However, when I went in late Dec. 2014, something was off. Suddenly, I didn't recognize any of the great staff members I was used to. The food wasn't quite as good, either! I cut them some slack thinking maybe the regulars were just on holiday vacation. I finally got the nerve to return this past week and I'm sad to report it's just not the same. My pizza still tasted pretty good, but the magic I once felt with every visit is entirely gone.
(3)LeKeshia D.
I've been here twice so far and loved the service both times. Got my pizza and it was a little charred. I tried to eat it but was picked at the burnt spots. Manager noticed and offered to remake my pizza. He told me about how the oven work and for me to let the waiter know I want it "blonde" to prevent charring. I'm giving it 4 stars because my second pizza mysteriously ended up with olives (it doesn't come with it and I most certainly didn't want that on there), but I easily picked them off.
(4)Janice M.
Another great lunch at Wolfgang's. A friend and I split the goat cheese and tomato Al Forno with parmesan zeppole. Luscious and filling. Those zeppole would taste good with anything. We then had the chicken caprese sandwich with fries. Great flavor in this sandwich. Fries were just okay, could have been cooked a bit longer. The chinois chicken salad was so so good with crispy wontons and cashews. The dressing was good but had a bit too much cilantro for my taste. The manager came by twice to make sure we were enjoying the food. One of my favorites for sure when near the Friendly shopping center.
(4)Karen M.
My fav Greensboro spot for ravioli...melts in your mouth. Always crowded...grab spot at bar....attentive bartenders.
(5)Tracy J.
My last meal before bathing suit season, So I went all out and carb loaded with a chicken cheese burger with bacon and fries. I tend to live on the risky side of life so I ventured away from pizza / I-Talian and was NOT disappointed - it was very tasty. My only compliant was the mystery white sauce that I am 100% confident was mayo (gross) that was not mentioned on the menu as a topping- o well! The chicken meat balls I ordered as an appetizer made up for the oil and egg dressing.
(5)Stephanie H.
Wolfgang Puck Pizza Bar is definitely "upper crust". I knew not to sport my sweatpants, hoodie, and flip flops. The rough cut French fries with garlic, Parmesan, and parsley were easily the best fries I've had in my life. They did cost a hefty $7 as an accompaniment to my pizza for lunch, but they were well worth it. They give you very small portions of ketchup, so if you require a lot, ask for extra when ordering. I did the "create your own pizza" for my meal. I chose the white sauce, fresh mozzarella, mushrooms, and caramelized onions. The pizza was four slices but was pretty huge. It is a very thin crust with puffy, airy edges. I wasn't a fan of the slight charring on the bottom and a little on the sides. I don't like the bitterness that a char gives to the crust. The white sauce was slightly disappointing...I was expecting more flavor. The mushrooms were very good, and I needed a magnifying glass to scope out the caramelized onions...I certainly couldn't taste them or see very many of them. I'm definitely a deep dish/Chicago style pizza fan...so I will attribute my slight dislike of the pizza to personal preference. I'm sure if you're a thin crust fan, you are used to the charring and will love at this place. Service was great and atmosphere was pretty cool. I'm a big fan of the big glass bottle of water that they put on the table to help yourself with.

Wolfgang Puck pizza bar is not what I was expecting. It is a little fancy, but not shirt and tie fancy. The restaurant has a fair amount of parking and tables. The wait staff is polite and helpful. I ordered the PB burger and it was massive. I like my burgers and steak bleeding rare, and they were able to cook this Angus burger perfect for me. The bun was one you don't often see on a burger. The lower part was awesome as it had soaked up all the burger juices . My only gripe is the a minor one. The food is abit pricey. For example, we ordered fries for an appetizer and they were close to $7.00. For the price though, you do get a large portion. I will probably give this place another shot in the future.
(4)Katie R.
This place has never disappointed me! The atmosphere is wonderful and they have Great and knowledgable servers and The most delicious food. Try the kale salad or any of the pizzas! Yum! And the seasonal cobbler... I'm Not even a cobbler fan and it blew my socks off! The crumb crust was so good! Always happy when we leave!
(5)Zoe E.
Good food and relaxing atmosphere. Their beer list is quite depressing, but that's the only real negative I've seen here. I eat here quite frequently, the specials are usually good (don't waste your time on half off beer day) and lunch prices are cheaper than dinner. I suggest sitting at the bar if in need of good conversation, Josh and Austin are awesome! Favorite dishes are the baked goat cheese, rigatoni, roasted mushroom flatbread and their donuts. I also like that they offer cooking classes and wine/beer dinners, those are always fun!
(4)Em H.
What an awesome experience. My spouse & I visited Wolfgang Puck's Pizza bar last night for the 1st time. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Our server was a professional young man who was on top of everything we needed. He took our order and brought my Caesar salad out very quickly. We had water and he left the bottle on the table with us. When our meals came, my spaghetti with tomato sauce and a chicken meatball smelled divine. It was infused with fresh basil & I added some tasty parmesan to it. There was just a hint of red wine in the sauce that amped up the flavor. My husband's cheese ravioli looked & smelled really good. He finished every last bite of it! When the check came (there was NO room for dessert!), the waiter took our payment and thanked us profusely for coming. We will DEFINITELY be returning and perhaps next time, we'll actually order the pizza!
(5)Christina L.
I really like this concept. The food is great, and the service is highly skilled. For example, they don't forget to bring you another fork if you leave yours on your salad plate when the course is cleared. The server will just quietly bring another before your entree arrives. A lot of places miss those little details. To me, this is the difference between 4 and 5 stars. On my latest excursion here, the server suggested lemon/lime wedges to accompany a bottle of sparkling water, to which I agreed. When he brought the citrus out, there were 2 wedges of each, along with 2 slices of orange for me and my dining companion. What a nice touch! This time, I had the Tender Baby Kale salad without the onion, accompanied by a glass of Sauvignon Blanc - perfect complement! For my entree I chose the Prosciutto di Parma pizza - simple ingredients, but so much flavor due to the wood fired crust! Must. Go. Back. Soon.
(5)Brittany L.
Our waiter was very nice and knowledgable. Our pizza was delicious and the cocktails were delicious. For dessert we ordered the donut holes with a shot of espresso milkshake and it was superb!
(4)Michael R.
Don't hate me for this review! This place is like a hot girl with no personality and no passion. It all looks good and gives and is eye candy but leaves you wanting and not feeling good later... The food tasted great each time we've been here. The service was good, not great. However, I am not sure why, but I've always felt off after eating here. I've got a pretty cast-iron stomach but something is not right here. I've eaten at any number of Puck's places from the original Spago (now closed) back in the day to some of his places in Las Vegas so I expect more. Maybe it's bad luck or something in the food that doesn't agree with me but we haven't gone back after 3 tries.
(2)Natalie R.
Greensboro needs more places like this. Great menu with small bites, or larger plates. Full bar, HUGE wine selection. I also like the tasteful modern decor. It really makes for a cool atmosphere.
(5)Don S.
I can honestly say the pizzas my wife and I had here were the worst I've ever had, bar none. Grocery store pizzas I had way back when were better. Horrible crust with toppings more designed to look pretty than taste good. I can't speak to the other menu items since the pizzas were so bad I'll never go back. Too many good restaurants around to waste your time or money eating there.
(1)JohnandPenni L.
We happened upon WP's while on a short visit to Greensboro. We decided to give it a try, after all, who doesn't like WP?!! YUM!! While, yes, the price point is a bit on the high side, you get what you pay for. We started off with the butternut squash soup. Now, we eat out A LOT, and this soup was as good as any we've had anywhere. A MUST try, when available!! We then ordered the chicken meatball pizza and the ravioli respectively. Both were excellent! What really made this visit special, however, was the service. We were treated like VIP's the entire time, and that alone can make any resraurant visit better. We will be back on our next visit!!
(5)Dave P.
We visited on a balmy Sunday afternoon, looking for a creative pizza. And we found one - the Goat Cheeze pizza with dried tomatoes was innovative and delicious. The optional gluten-free crust was better than good - it you need to go gluten-free, their version is great. Service was prompt, attentive, and friendly. We dined outside because the restaurant was too cold for our taste, and the music pretty awful. We dined to "Werewolves of London" among other inappropriate "hits." Some suggestions - the outdoor dining area is mostly a fenced-off part of the parking lot and not very attractive. Perhaps surrounding it with some greenery would help. The wine was bland and expensive at $9/glass for what we got. And we got day-old red to further the insult. And no-one bothered to mention that the optional gluten-free crust we requested cost an extra $5! That's a pretty egregious omission if you ask me. At this point, I'm not sure I'll be going back anytime soon.

I would recommend this restaurant to a friend! Visited this location on a Friday at lunchtime during a business trip. I ordered the chicken meatball pizza and I was super excited about it because I don't eat beef or pork. I enjoyed the pizza, but like other reviewers I was a little disappointed with the crust to toppings ratio. It could have used more sauce and cheese! There was also a little section of burned crust. But, the chicken meatballs were great and paired nicely with the mushrooms and red onions. I added some crushed red pepper for heat. I didn't plan on eating the whole pizza by myself - but I did!!! I also tried a limonata drink, which was very tasty and refreshing on the warm day, albeit pricey at $10. The staff were very pleasant and there was no wait to be seated. It seemed like this restaurant was popular for many occasions - I observed different tables celebrating a high school graduation, toasting a birthday, and some doctors from the nearby hospital taking a lunch break. Average age seemed 30+. Not really a place for kids based on the decor and atmosphere.

I hadn't had pizza yet this week (leftover for breakfast doesn't count, right?), so I thought I'd try the relatively new guy in town - though gourmet pizza has really never been my thing. I usually put gourmet pizza in the same category as gourmet hot dogs and gourmet popcorn - traditional food items messed about, usually with unanticipated consequences, and higher prices. But, I was hoping the Wolf Man would change my mind on this particular item, but turns out Wolfman Man didn't do Jack. This is a very nicely decorated, and well laid out restaurant, with a particularly attractive bar area, for those who go in for that sort of thing. And they have an excellent, user-friendly online ordering system, where you can place your order and specify a time to pick it up.- worked like a charm. But in the end, its about the food, otherwise, why go there? Enter the problem. We started with the Pasta Fagioli ($7 for a cup) and this was an unusual , and I guess gourmet, takeoff on the classic Italian soup. This is an thicker version, more like a stew, and includes pancetta, ear shaped pasta, very few white beans (usually canellini), and even carrrots, and the predominate herb is sage. While not an unheared of version, it is atypical in the US. Frankly, I much prefer the more commonly encountered variety - more soupy, smaller pasta, a healthy amount of cannellini beans, minced onions, and some garlic- and I would not order this again. The Linguini ($16) was also a very different composition than that of the classic Linguini Vongole - a straight forward dish of clams, EVOO, garlic, red pepper flakes, clam juice, maybe some white wine, and linguine. The basil pesto here smothers the taste of the seafood, rendering it a green mess. Again, no reorder - especially at $16 a pop. Now, as to the gourmet pizzas - we tried the Pepperoni Pomodoro ($14 for a 10" pie) which was built of pepperoni, sweet onions, and tomato sauce. The pepperoni was listed as organic, that's a gourmet term, right? And the pomodoro part refers to a variety of Italian tomato sauce containing fresh basil - there seems to basil in everything here - the herb dejour, every dejour, it seems. There is a lot of pepperoni here, very little tomato sauce, and even less cheese - and I may be wrong here, but pizza is about the crust, the tomato sauce, and the cheese - what you throw on after that is about preference. I prefer to not order this again, though truth be known, the crust is special - such a waste. Next was the really gourmet sounding "House-Made Lamb Sausage" pizza with roasted peppers, goat cheese, and roasted eggplant ($16 for same sized pie). Again, little or no tomato sauce, goat cheese lacks the textural character to make a good pie, and the house-made lamb sausage had the taste and structure of liver mush (an old South, down on the farm, speciality). Sausage should not be spreadable. Veggies, roasted or otherwise, need company. No reorder here. I perhaps am a non-gourmet, but it that so bad? Wolfgang, I hardly knew you.

The manager contacted me almost immediately after my review was posted. I was impressed with his sincere apology and offer to "make it right" for us. I cannot rate the food because we never got to eat, but based on the food we saw and the manager's prompt action in addressing the server problem I am updating my rating to 3.

This is absolutely one of our favorite places to go for pizza. The wait staff are incredibly friendly, and the decor is beautiful right down to the dinner plates, and glasses that are used. When they bring out water, the glass carafe is really pretty, which makes even drinking a simple glass of water fun. One of our favorite appetizers that we always get there are the garlic bread buns that are served in an iron cast skillet. They are the size of cinnamon rolls, served up in a similar style twist. They melt in your mouth and are so good, you'll want to order a second dish of them. The pizza is equally amazing. The crust is light, fluffy and crispy all at once. The only drawback to this particular Wolfgang Puck location is the location. It is on a side road along the busy Friendly Center Shopping Center in Greensboro, and kind of tucked away, whereas most of the restaurants at the Friendly Center are located within the main shopping area, so you might miss it if you don't drive down Green Valley Road and are just driving straight up Friendly Avenue. Once you find it though, there is ample parking and a great atmosphere awaiting inside. They also have outdoor seating, which is nice, but there isn't really a great view of anything but the road and parking area. That being said, it is still an incredibly beautiful restaurant on the inside, with a full bar and television screens for sporting events and news programs. Every time we have been, we have enjoyed ourselves, and we always look forward to going back. I highly recommend it.

Just an update: they changed their special 3-6 pm half price deal. Now, it's only on Monday through Thursday, and it's only on specific pizzas, but it's still a great deal. Go get some!

Atmosphere: Great restaurant! We were seated right away and chose the outdoor patio. It is weatherproof, comfortable, and much quieter than indoors. Service: Our service was helpful and fast! She answered questions, was friendly, and very prompt with our food. Food: We ordered the Baked Goat Cheese appetizer and it was amazing!!!! It is a cast iron skillet of tomato sauce baked with a few blobs of local goat cheese topped with basil. It comes with a bowl of fresh zeppols (fried dough balls) that were incredibly flavorful with an amazing crispy/chewy texture. We ordered the Baby Kale Salad. I was nervous about the kale being too bitter, but the baby kale leaves tasted like any other salad greens. It comes with Parmesan, pine nuts, and pickled onions. We shared the Lamb Sausage Pizza. The lamb sausage is fresh and delicious! It comes with goat cheese and sautéed red peppers. The pizza crust is soft and delicious, and it is very thin crust so we had to eat with a fork and knife because the toppings made it sort of soggy. Very good, though, and unlike anything we've had in the Triad! Our food was served in courses, which was perfect for us. We shared all three items as they came out and were both stuffed! All in all it took around an hour and the bill was under $40. We'll definitely come again!!

I am going to keep this short and sweet, because there are not appropriate words to describe how amazing this place was. The atmosphere is really nice. Rustic, but casual. The wait staff and the managers were some of the friendliest and helpful I have encountered. We started with the goat cheese & tomato al forno. Yum! Definitely worth a try. My kids got the puck pizzas, they really liked them. My husband got the prosciutto di Parma pizza and for not being a prosciutto fan, I thought it tasted wonderful. But the star of the event was the PB burger with the garlic, Parmesan fries. We are burger snobs, because we use local grassfed angus beef for our burgers, so I was worried. I had no reason to, this burger was the best burger I have had dining out ever! The juices coming from it were also too good to miss. We were so pleased, we decided to get a second meal to go home for later, since we live 2 1/4 hours away. Now, I must find excuses to come up and enjoy it, or the one in Charlotte.

I love the atmosphere. It's trendy and welcoming and the bar is really cute. The food is also very tasty. We started with the baked goat cheese appetizer which was heavenly. It's served warm with marinara sauce and Parmesan zeppole (seasoned pieces of bread) for dipping. It was delicious!! We also split the spicy shrimp pizza which is topped with tomatoes and arugula. It was very enjoyable. It's a thin crust pizza so the flavors from the toppings really shine. Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience. I'll definitely be back. This would be a great spot for date night :-)

The restaurant experience itself was fairly good. Walking in, you're greeted by fairly modern decor - a very good vibe with attention to detail down to the water cups. The service was great as well. But the main reason most of us come to restaurants is for the food. And this place lacked in that area. I got the house-made lamb sausage pizza, which sounded fantastic, and was fairly good. It wasn't bad-tasting, it just wasn't worth the price you pay. And with other pizza places in the area like Sticks and Stones, Mellow Mushroom, and NYP this place is easily forgotten. I'd really only come back for the decor and atmosphere. Maybe get a drink at the bar with a friend or something.

I was extremely excited to eat here. The atmosphere was spot on. It was modern, clean, and cozy without being too homely. The servers were well dressed with nice button up shirts and clean blue jeans. We made reservations and were seated promptly in a booth with a crate wall between us and the expo station/kitchen. The food was pretty good. We ordered the spinach and smoked mozzarella salad and the pesto garlic bread. The salad was amazing. I could literally go there everyday and just have that and be more than content. The pesto garlic bread left more to be desired. There was such a lack of flavor for it to be made with such strong ingredients. Next we ordered a prosciutto pizza and the egg and potato pizza. The prosciutto pizza was decent enough but the egg and potato pizza did not have much flavor at all. (I know right?!) I returned this pizza and ordered the chicken and broccolini pizza which was much better. For dessert we ordered the chocolate cake with hazelnut gelato and peach panna cotta with tangerines. The desserts were sublime. Our server was very nice, professional, and attentive. The only thing that I was not too pleased with were actually some of the other servers. When we arrived the place was not too busy. Because of this several servers, not ours, were playing tag throughout the restaurant. This was not so professional. Also, being where were sitting, we could hear some of the folks that worked there chatting in the back. One gentlemen was singing a song and complaining about doing something that he thought was F**King stupid. Given that the pizzas were just decent and the other servers in the place, I give this restaurant 3 stars. Without the other servers it would have earned 4.

(2.5 stars) This fiefdom in Wolfgang Puck's corporate empire offers plenty of sizzle but little steak (the flatiron steak presumably notwithstanding). At first glance, there is a lot to like. The Friendly Center location is easily accessible, the hostesses friendly, and the atmosphere dark, modern, and inviting. The menu, though somewhat concise, holds plenty of appeal. In addition to Puck's signature salmon pizza, pies here come topped with everything from duck sausage to spicy shrimp to more traditional (pomodoro, margherita, etc.) permutations. Should you opt to go another direction, braised short ribs and a few of the pasta preparations tantalize as well. Once you are comfortably ensconced, however, it does not take long for the bloom to wear off. Though the servers are polite and attentive, order-to-table time is slow. When your food does arrive, you will be confronted with the knowledge that you almost certainly overpaid for whatever you happened to order. The pizzas are personal pan sized (about four slices) and mostly run $11-$15, a poor value for the quantity. The pasta dishes ($13 for a meatless ravioli) are similarly wallet-unfriendly. Further, while the food is competently prepared, nothing reaches the level of must-have. The duck sausage on my pizza was mild, a good complement to the tangy onions, but a letdown in and of itself. A dessert sampling of donut bites inspired a similar reaction: they were warm and satisfying but still very much just donuts. For a certain segment of diners, Wolfgang Puck Pizza Bar offers tasty food and appealing ambiance, and that alone is enough. But for food-savvy Greensboroians, it's a sucker's bet. Innovative pizza can be found at a better value elsewhere.

I love this place, there is nothing like it in this town. It's like being transformed to a metropolitan, lively, happening city for 45 minutes- however long you want to escape from reality. You walk in and it is very progressive and modern. We were looking for a place for some heavy appetizers. after passing on 6 dollar sour patch kids at the movie theater. Seriously, it's like 75 cents per sour patch kid. It was one of those rainy, dark, Saturdays where you say screw it and go out in your sweats/ pajamas haha, and just don't care. We came right in at happy hour, which was awesome. We sat at the bar, and they weren't busy. First off, they have their menus on an Ipad format which is very cool, and techie, especially for this area. Second, their bartender's, Ryan and Danielle, are very cool and great at their jobs. I got a flight of Tilia cabernet (9$) and my girlfriend got a Man Vintner Chardonnay which wasn't bad either. Wines weren't Caymus, but nonetheless pretty good. We got two appetizers, garlic bean and hummus, and truffle fries. The hummus was awesome: very creamy, very fresh, and very flavorful. Honestly, if I were drunk I probably would have licked the plate clean in front of the other customer's. As you can see in the pictures they did initially skimp on the bread, but that was rectified as we were able to order more bread 4 times, hahaha. The fries were in small pieces, but were fresh and very good. Lots of flavor and that salty REAL potato flavor. Very good. When we walked out, the GM opened the door for us and was very pleasant, something that you don't see that often. A very classy man for a very classy establishment. I'd definitely go here again and recommend it to any locals, or people visiting from out of town. Just an all around great experience in every respect.

I have to admit, my review is a bit skewed as my expectations for this restaurant were very high. For starters, it's Wolfgang Puck. Secondly, I used to purchase his frozen pizzas years ago and was absolutely in love with the flavor, organic ingredients and tasty crust (for a frozen pizza). So naturally, my palate rejoices when I learn there's a Wolfgang Puck pizza bar in the city that I'm visiting. I'm a self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur, and I judge my pies based on the following: 1) crust: soft, melt-in-your-mouth dough with the perfect amount of crisp 2) sauce: well seasoned, robust, fresh tomatoes, plentiful 3) cheese: fresh mozzarella or a mozzarella/Parmesan blend 4) toppings: a variety of quality meats and veggies Sadly, the two pizzas that we tried at this "pizza bar" left much to be desired :(. I was in the mood for something a little sweet on my pie, so I ordered the BBQ chicken. My dad ordered the pepperoni pomodoro and my mom ordered a salad. The best meal of the three? The salad! I'm willing to give this restaurant another try, in hopes that they're merely working out the kinks (they were newly opened at the time of my visit). The dessert donuts, however, were divine!

Simple one page menu. I love simplicity. The food is slightly above average. A bit expensive but it does have a good atmosphere and very good service. Also a lot of excellent beers.
(3)Caroline B.
Good but not great. Both appetizer and pizza was under seasoned. Staff was helpful in suggestions, but not very attentive afterwards.

Visited restaurant for the happy hour special on pizza & beer. We made sure our server, Lauren, got the order in before 6 pm. She then took our beer order at 5:59pm (I was looking at my phone and noticed the time). The food was served fast and was superb as usual. The manager came by to check on us, which was nice. This is our favorite stop when passing through Greensburo on business. When the check came, the pizzas were at full price instead of the happy hour price. I asked Lauren if this was correct and she said yes but she would adjust it. No apology and behaved like it was our fault, when she'd been the one to assure us she'd get the order in by 6pm. Maybe she was having a bad day as she was out of sorts compared to the server at the next table over. Will return...the food and beer were great, but check your ticket.

Such a deceiving atmosphere. Walking in to this beautifully designed restaurant on a seemingly slow night for dinner with high expectations, I was quickly disappointed. Receiving my wine 20 minutes after I ordered it with an undercooked appetizer definitely set the par for the rest of the meal. My fries were the highlight of our $80 dinner which included a pizza that we had to cut ourselves. Horrible service and the food certainly didn't make up for it. If you feel like waiting an hour for mediocre and overpriced food, then this is your spot!
(1)Michael B.
I thought the pizza here was better than average. A good place to have a glass of wine with your pizza if you're into that kind of thing. I thought it was a good idea to have a "fancy" pizza joint like this -- but it's just a little weird actually being there experiencing it. Not bad though.
(3)Connor B.
Very good thin crusted pizza. Carolina goat cheese is fantastic. Soda shop sampler for dessert. Unlike any other pizza place in g boro.
(5)Andrea N.
Everything is top notch at an affordable price. I had the side Caesar salad and goat cheese pizza... Amazing! The service also rocked. Not only was my server attentive, but the manager came out twice to ask how everything was. The ambiance is great. Not stuffy, but at the same time seems more New American upscale. If I'm ever back in the area, I would, hands-down, visit again.
(5)Pamela M.
I made a reservation for a bunch of us from work and we were seated as soon as we arrived. My prosciutto pizza was very good and service was excellent!!!! It's a little pricey for lunch though......
(4)Ashley W.
An update from my review almost a year ago. They have made a few menu changes. But the pizzas are excellent and some of the best crust I've seen anywhere. Toppings are high quality ingredients. They also have added some "all-day" happy hour specials for around $6. I had a $6 gin cocktail that was excellent. We just sat at the bar and service was great. The restaurant was pretty crowded as it was a Saturday night but service seemed to be moving at a good pace and customers were enjoying themselves. Keep up the good work Puck!
(5)Jacqui H.
Friendly staff who are well dressed and professional. The ambiance is nice and the restaurant isn't too overcrowded. The food was good though my pizza wasn't quite done in the middle and too much truffle oil made the raw middle of my pizza that much worse. Others in my party were all pleasantly happy with their meals, though somewhat disappointed in the size of the entree.

Wolfgang Puck Pizza Bar has a lively, energetic atmosphere. Nice small bar area as well as a small covered patio. I've always found the service to be very attentive and friendly. They source as many ingredients as possible locally which adds to the fresh taste. My friend had the baby kale salad and said it was one of the best salads he's ever had. My wife loves the Cavatapi pasta (she's a sucker for goat cheese!). It's a creamy pasta dish with a rich goat cheese Alfredo sauce, mushrooms, and chicken. My only complaint was that the amount of chicken was pretty skimpy, but this was offset with a generous amount of goat cheese. I had the Pepperoni Pomadora pizza. A 10" pizza for $14, kinda pricy. The pizza was loaded with pepperoni which I love. It was a little light on cheese and sauce but if you're after a strong pepperoni taste and a great crust, you'll like it. Overall, we really like the ambiance and the food. The food is fresh but does seem to have a abundance of seasoning giving it a heavy feel. Many dishes are best shared making it a better value.
(4)Vickie O.
Have eaten here 3 times in the past four weeks. Food is AMAZING, service is impeccable and ambience is delightful. First time had flat iron steak and crispy potatoes with calamari as an appetizer ... The second time had the margharita pizza, also yummy... Fries are awesome.. 3rd time had the flat iron steak again. Oh and dessert, make sure you get the gelato cart build your own sundae.
(5)Lewis D.
The food and service are good, and they offer a lot more than just pizzas. They also seem to have reduced price items including drinks every night of the week.
(5)Lisa D.
Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. Pizza crust is fabulous. Hummus was excellent too!! Wish we lived closer!
(5)Erica M.
Forgettable at best. I had a better BBQ chicken pizza with brixx at half the price!! It was myself and my gf. We sat at the bar bc we have been driving all day and wanted quick and prompt service. The bartender was sweet but bc she had tables all through the bar and the patio I sat with an empty beer for 15 minutes. The manager actually dropped off the food and didn't ask if I needed a refill on my beverage either. As a former restaurant manager for bonefish grill, I know how imperative it is to have complete customer satisfaction. The food was a c+ at best. Nothing to to complain ab but with the name Wolfgang Puck, you expect top of the line. I will not be back and I recommend if you want good pizza, go to mellow mushroom or brixx.
(1)Tom C.
My wife and I have a hard time figurimg out how this place deserves 4 stars. We dropped in on a Saturday evening and, as expected, had to wait for a table. No problem with that. After 30 minutes got a table on the patio, which we enjoyed. From that point on it was mediocre. My wife ordered a flatbread pizza. When you get approximately 10" pizza and you must bite in at least 3" before getting any toppings that' pathetic. Then to make it even worse, if you picked the toppings up in your fingers to eat, they would be gone in one average bite, something is wrong. I ordered the Rigatoni which was very tasty. The only problem I had was that I kept waiting for the 2nd helping. Small portions for the price. There was no experience at Wolfgang Puck's that would warrant another visit by us
(2)Andy H.
Don't be fooled by the Pizza Bar name, this is way more than a Pizza restaurant. It's a bit hard to find behind Macy's, in an old bank building. My wife and I enjoyed a delicious meal. The waiter was very helpful with wine selection, menu suggestions, and with knowledge of how food was prepared. Interior is open and modern, which might be a draw back if your looking for a quiet place. There is also a nice, covered outdoor patio. Nice bar with multiple wide screens for your sports viewing desires. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Dinner, desert, and drinks was 100.00. Well worth the cost for the quality of food and service.
(5)Martin P.
The pizza is very good but the service is a little too slow for my liking. It's also very expensive.
(2)Danielle R.
I loved this place! The three of us had the chicken meatball pizza, oven roasted vegetable pizza, and the rock shrimp pizza. All three were excellent, though I personally liked the shrimp pizza best. Can't wait to try their lamb pizza and smoked salmon pizza. Our waiter was very informative and attentive, and the pizza came out quick. My hubby says its too fancy aka too pricey for his taste. Pizzas run between $12-17 and he said he'd rather go to Brixx, but I'm on board with this one. I like good quality and a unique selection, and the pizzas are bigger than Brixx too. Consider sharing. Though it was so good, sharing may not be an option. Update: By the way, I don't work there, and I don't work in the restaurant business either. Mr. Cranky who left the bad review about the hostess asking how she could help him, needs to learn some manners. Why assume someone is waiting to be seated? They could be meeting someone, or wanting a to go order, or even buying a gift certificate. She acknowledged him and was polite. Quit being a stickler!
