My boyfriend and I were passing through Greensboro on a road trip and were hankering for some Asian cuisine so we decided to stop in at Phoenix. We could not have been more pleased with our decision!! Phoenix has a great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, and quick service. We started out with hot and sour soup and I have to say that it is the BEST hot and sour soup I have ever had. We then moved on to their firecracker shrimp appetizer at the recommendation of our server. It was yummy but not as spicy as was indicated on the menu. For my entree I had the crispy duck and dumplings. The dumplings were light and fluffy, the duck was full of flavor and you get to make little duck sandwiches! Fun and tasty. My boyfriend couldn't stop raving about his combination Pad Thai, another suggestion from our server. The cheesecake won-tons are a MUST for dessert. They are perfect to share between 2 people and come with a delicious caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. Be prepared to pay a little more than you would at your local chinese restaurant but it is well worth the extra money. Also as a side note, they serve several flavors of hot tea. The ginger tea was a nice addition to the meal.

This is one of our favorite restaurants and we have been here repeatedly. It is a great place for moderately priced Asian food. My personal favorite is the Phoenix chicken, but there are lots of good dishes. The walnut plum shrimp are also good. Service has always been good, and they have a pretty decent wine list as well. I am not a sushi person, but dining companions have said theirs is good also. We like to eat local rather than chain restaurants, and will continue making this a regular place for us.

We had a great dinner. Service was fantastic. I haven't been here for years and I a wondering why. We will be back soon.

Friendly Service and Good Asian Cuisine While the restaurant does not offer traditional authentic Chinese dishes, their versions are reasonable good and I think targeted at what their chef believes are the majority of their customer's tastes. The decor is upscale and the service excellent with people who are reasonably knowledgeable about the food and will go ask if they don't know. The prices are fairly expensive to support their higher overhead. The restaurant is very pleasant. While the Asian Cuisine is below par compared to Los Angeles or San Francisco it is one of the best the Triad has to offer.

The service and food are always wonderful. I would go anywhere else for this food as it's just amazing. Do yourself a favor and swing by.

I started coming here when this place was fresh and new and NEVER have I ever been let down. I would compare this to a P.F. Changs, only better. The Mongolian Beef dish is one my my favorites and the bar continues to pour GREAT drinks. Once inside you will not believe that you are in a shopping center.

Overall this is a very nice restaurant. Following other reviewers I had higher expectations: the food was nice and tasty, but not overwhelming. The Beijing duck was nice, and the buns where fun too, but it lacked a distinct character and the flavor was not as strong as I would have liked. The beef came too spicy to my wife's taste. I think it was not spicy, but we all have our own taste. The waiter, which checked on us quite often and not in a pushy way, offered to take the dish back to the kitchen, and came back promptly with a modified dish to her taste. This brings me to the best aspect of the place: friendly and efficient staff. We waited for a very short while, received professional and kind service, and overall enjoyed the experience.

When it comes to fusion Asian food, this is as good as it gets around the Triad area. For the most part, I don't really think there is much more authentic Asian food than these places around here so that's saying something. I prefer Phoenix Asian Cuisine's food to PF Chang's, and the fact that there are less of a crowd and they have had bubble tea, definitely put them on the top of my list when it comes to Asian food!

Went here today for a rehearsal dinner. It was midday, the wedding party and guests WERE NOT in a private room, but rather at two long tables in the middle of the restaurant. Waiters brought out a selection of three appetizers for us; crispy shrimp served on lettuce with some sort of sauce on it, pot stickers, and lettuce wraps. Two out of three was okay...the mixture for the lettuce wraps was horrible. If it is their imitation of what is serve at pfChangs...they need to ditch this one and start over! Guests were allowed to order off the menu. I had Honey Chicken which was served with rice, perhaps 4 pieces of broccoli, a egg roll, and choice of soup or salad...I chose egg drop soup. The egg roll was crisp, but greasy and flavorless. Soup was okay. Chicken had a good flavor, however nothing special. The woman next to me ordered crab sushi rolls...it looked absolutely horrible...like a pile of garbage! The positive was that the waiters were very nice and efficient. If I lived in this area, I would not eat here again.

Great place. Excellent service. Wonderful ambience. We went there on our date night and the service was slightly delayed because it was very crowded. When we complained the manager expedited our order and have us free desert!!! Extraordinary service indeed.

Wonderful dining experience. Some of the best Asian cuisine I have eaten outside of a PF Chang's. They are just as good if not better. Highly recommended.

We get takeout from here all the time, and we go in person on special occasions. We just had my birthday dinner there this weekend, and they were fabulous as always. The food is so fresh and always cooked well, and it's consistent as well. The service is really good, too. And they have no problem accommodating children!

  • Doug S.

I went here on a typical night. The place was pretty full but did not feel crowded. Plenty of space and tables were nicely spaced. The food was respectable and certainly an upgrade over commercial Chinese. I would put it on the same tier as PF Changs or slightly above. Bigger portions, prices about the same. All in all, not a bad option if you are craving Chinese.

Skip the chains... this is hands over fists the best Asian food in Greensboro... and it is Local! The food is fresh and authentic. A very well rounded menu. The service is attentive without being pushy. The presentation is BEAUTIFUL. The decor... Stunning!

Kung Pow Chicken is the Best!!!!...Everything here is good! Cheesecake Wontons...BOMB.

  • Greg P.

Would definitely rate this the best Asian restaurant in Greensboro. The food is very good and very consistent. Have not had a bad meal here - Jalapeno Beef, Ba Ba Lamb, Garlic Eggplant, Kung Pao Chicken and Shrimp are all very good. My "go to" here is the Candied Walnuts and Shrimp (but i get them to do 1/2 shrimp and 1/2 scallops) - it is really really good! Make sure to call ahead or have a reservation as it does get crowded during the dinner shift.

I must admit, I wasn't a fan of this restaurant due to previous experiences with poor food quality and service. However, I went there last night for a work dinner. We had a party of 12 or so and it was the most enjoyable "big party" dining experience I've had in a long time! The wait staff was very attentive and we all received our drinks and dinner in unison! The food was incredible! I had the Phoenix Eggplant which was absolutely delicious. The eggplant was prepped just right and the sauce was bountiful. Everyone was pleased with the taste of their food. Also, we all left with a box because the portions were huge! Our waitress was one of the best I've encountered in Greensboro and I eat out a lot!

So good!! Best honey chicken around. A Must try if you are in Gboro and haven't been to this place yet.

  • Jim D.

Great place, really nice server. Girlfriend had the Walnut Chicken lunch special, which was amazing and very reasonable price-wise. I had the singapore shrimp, which was good but not fantastic. Will definitely be coming back and would recommend to others.

  • Jessica P.

Fabulous food, super clean, nice staff, and did I mention - fabulous food? Every dish can be customized, as they are cooked to order. Family owned. The owners have included personal recipes in the menu, as well as some all around favorites. I could eat here any day of the week. My only complaint is having to choose one specific dish + appetizer to eat, as they are all so good.

  • Lisa S.

Phoenix has the best fried rice in the Triad. All in all I have never been disappointed at Phoenix. The portions are on the larger side - but it is great because you can order a few items and share with everyone at the table. It is a pretty big place, with a great patio, but it can get busy on the weekend so call for ressies.

  • Anon A.

Probably my favorite Asian-American restaurant in the area. I especially like the Thai teriyaki chicken. Take-out is well packaged but they do put most dishes (even spring rolls) in hard plastic containers, which is wasteful.

  • Juan S.

Me and my wife visit this place often. Excellent atmosphere, excellent food. They seat you in a timely fashion. The menu has a good selection. The pork tenderloin is my favorite dish, the pheonix Chicken is my wife's favorite dish. Great restuarant.

Better and cheaper than PF Chang!

Had our second visit this past weekend. Walked in at 6 pm on a Friday and still got a table right away, and it was busy. Hard to go wrong with anything on the menu and they give an ample portion. No kids menu but the honey chicken they make got rave reviews from our two kids and nicely priced at $6 per child. Can't wait to go back without the kids and enjoy a more leisurely meal with a good bottle of wine.

Consistently excellent fare. Diverse menu and a little something for everyone's tastes..a great regular spot. Even their take out is well done!

  • Jordan P.

Go to Phoenix. It's that simple. All the servers are good people, and the food is terrific. I used to work there until I relocated, but coming from a server's point of view I would eat any thing on the menu.

  • Michele P.

Well, first let me say that Asian/Chinese restaurant choices in the area are BLEAK. So this was a very exciting find. It's very much like PF Chang's with less crowd. We had the Ba Ba Black Lamb, Garlic green beans, chicken fried rice, beef and broccili, and shrimp. We started with the California won tons which has crab meat and cream cheese inside. Yum! Service was pretty good and I'd say the only reason I gave it one less star was because it was a little slow. So if you want very good food that you can depend on, in a pretty environment, go here!

  • Heather D.

The waiter was fantastic, and very professional. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere nice, formal, but not stuffy. I don;t think anyone didn't love their food, and the sushi was beautiful.

    (4)
  • Tiger C.

This is a generic Asian restaurant, meaning no specific cuisine such as Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, or Thai. Until Imperial Koi opened up in June 2009 it was as close as one in Greensboro could get to good sushi. Popular, good atmosphere, great staff, generally pleasing mix of Asian dishes. Not great at any particular cuisine.

  • Shelly S.

This place is absolutely fantastic! The range of dishes will suit even I, a very picky eater and their Pad Thai is comparable to the delicious street sellers in Thailand! The management is amazing and the staff professional and friendly. Only complaint is its a bit dark :D Awesome restaurant!

  • Paul T.

Everything was great, until it wasn't! Ambaince, friendly and prompt staff, all checks. I opted to get the very reasonably priced shashimi tray, they were even willing to make it half and half (salmon / tuna). When it was brought out, it was beutiful... and mostly frozen. *sad face*. It was like eating fishsicles. Fortunately, the fish *was* fresh tasting, it was just icy. They recovered on dessert though. Banana spring rolls and icecream! Sign me up. I would definitely go back and try one of their chicken dishes, I'm not sure I would use them as a goto for Sushi.

We Went for dinner and Chinese new year. I was glad to see they did the traditional dragon dance. It was Very entertaining. I ordered a noodle dish with shrimp. Very well prepared. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and the waitstaff is attentive. I Would like to return to enjoy other dishes.

  • Angela F.

Nice atmosphere. We come here often. The food is very good and the price is much better than similar restaurants. Try the Dragon's Nest for a special treat!

  • Paul W.

I have been here several times, food is great, lots to try with a standard variety you would expect and more along with sushi. The bar is full and generally well stocked. I'm not sure but it has the setting and feel of an upscale restaurant with a family owed feel. There are several things you can't miss such as the candy walnut chicken. And make sure to ask the waiter about mix and matching. They also have a great outdoor setting area and the waiters are usually pretty great as well. So over all I give it a five because I would go back again and again...

  • Jim K.

My last experience here was not so great, however, Phoenix Asian redeemed themselves on this visit and they are back on my tried and true list. Service was attentive and very friendly as usual and the food was great. We tried the Kung Pow Chicken which was excellent. Ask for their chili sauce if you want to spice it up a bit. The Lemon Shrimp was very good with a fresh lemon flavor and large prawns. We also enjoyed the Chicken Lo Mein and Shrimp Pad Thai. Everything was very good. Great atmosphere, great service, excellent Asian food: I'm a happy camper again!

I was craving sushi and I had heard a lot of great things about Phoenix. The setting and ambience is really nice. We ordered the crab wontons to start and they were excellent. The sauce they were served with was great. I ordered the salmon nigiri and the monsoon roll: the salmon was really great, but the monsoon roll was amazing! The flavors and textures in the monsoon roll were on point A little bit of heat, but nothing over powering. I will definitely order this again. Great over all experience and I will be back to try more.

Great oriental cuisine. Sashimi is very good. Excellent menu covering chicken, beef, and seafood dishes. They have gluten free options and separate menu. Absolutely love the gluten free Dragon's Nest: jumbo shrimp, scallops, chicken, broccoli, snow peas, bell peppers, & shiitaki mushrooms in a "potatoes nest". Awesome! Friendly staff, great food, easy location to reach.

My rating is more based on the service than the food but it all goes together. We were seated right away but then had to wait for nearly 10 minutes for anyone to even check on us, as multiple waitresses and waiters walked by. This was around 5PM last weekend and after waiting for quite some time, David, our waiter finally arrived. The restaurant was clean, the food was great, but the service was horrible. The drinks ran dry many times before anyone came back for refills and it appeared that they did not even care. I will give them another chance based on the flavor of our meal but the service will have to be better next time, or it will be my last.

Every time I eat here I have a wonderful experience, starting with the delectable smells that greet you upon walking in the door. It is hands down the nicest Asian restaurant in the city. The atmosphere is comfortable and elegant while still feeling casual. But the thing I love most about this place is their multi-national cuisine. No matter your craving, everyone in your party will find something they love. Sushi, Chinese, Thai all equally perfected. We ordered all of the above family style so that we could experience everything. I would highly recommend the Beijing Roasted Duck which is build-it-yourself steamed buns with expertly crisped duck, vegetables, and hoisin sauce.

  • Damien P.

One of my favorite asian place. The lunch special is very good, a lot of choices including for the soup which is pretty seldom. Which will mostly not makes your bored if you are going there often. The crispy stuff they give for the soup is actually the best I ever had. So far I tried the Phoenix Chicken, Honey Chicken and Walnut Chicken (yes I hate poultry). All good, but a special mention for the Walnut Chicken as it seems the walnuts are roasted which makes them crispy. May be try some other meat next time :)

  • Nicole F.

I must say, they have pretty reasonable lunch specials, comes with a soup or salad, vegetable egg roll, brown or white rice, and the entree. It's a pretty descent size, a portion that satisfied my big eating habits. The food isn't salty like most Chinese restaurants. If anything, it could have used a little more flavor. I made the mistake of ordering the walnut chicken. Which is an unusual dish to begin with because it's usually walnut SHRIMP that is served at Chinese restaurants (at least what I'm used to seeing). But I gave it a shot. It was WAY too sweet for my taste buds. On the other hand, the egg drop soup was EXCELLENT! Probably the best that I've had. The egg roll was bland/average. Fortune cookie was stale. Lol Service was fast and friendly. They get very busy during lunch, but they have PLENTY of seats/space. So, I doubt you'd be waiting long. Ample parking in complex lot. Overall, this place was average to me. Perhaps I got the wrong dish. Would I try it again?..sure...if I'm ever in the area, but I still prefer Vietnamese food!

I've been to Phoenix many times and decided to finally write a review. It was almost full at 12:05 yesterday but we didn't have to wait for a table. This place is popular with business folks and there were several large parties but the service didn't suffer. The wait staff is friendly and efficient and the food always comes out of the kitchen pretty quickly. They have several lunch options that include soup or salad and a spring roll for $9.00. I've had the pad thai, Phoenix chicken, Kung Pao shrimp and the beef and broccoli. All solid choices. The hot and sour soup is good but I still prefer P F Changs.(I know it's a chain but dang their soup is amazing!) Great lunch spot for a reasonable price.

I decided to give Phoenix a try while I was out to lunch with my sister. She works nearby and recommended I try it out. They have plenty of reasonable lunch specials to choose from. I decided on the Phoenix Lo Mein with beef. I chose wonton soup as the starter. The wonton soup was very good. I could definitely detect the pork flavor and the wontons in the soup were actually stuffed pretty generously. Normally, there isn't a shred of meat inside wonton soup from most places I've been to. The beef lo mein did not disappoint. It's usually my preferred dish at most Asian restaurants and the flavor of Phoenix's version was spot on. The server was very accommodating for my precious little niece's request of ketchup to accompany her sweet and sour chicken. However, that unfortunately was the extent of her hospitality. She disappeared immediately after we got our entrees never to be heard from or seen again. We had to wait a very long time for the bill to come. A male server brought the bill and explained that our waitress went home. A little weird. If it were based on service, I wouldn't return. Good thing the food is so darn good.

Okay, so Phoenix dropped the ball on Friday night. I ordered takeout for the first and last time. My staple, the eggplant, was delicious, but even though I ordered it extra spicy, it wasn't spicy at all. I also ordered the red curry chicken. It was fine, but not great. To me, it tasted like something was missing. Also, it had broccoli in it, which was just kind of gross. I have never encountered broccoli in red curry chicken, and it really affected the flavor negatively. This dish was nothing compared to the red curry at Taste of Thai. I got two appetizers--pork dumplings and fried tofu. The dumplings were okay, but only just okay. The tofu was terrible. Terrible. Maybe it's my fault for ordering a fried appetizer for takeout, but at other places, they poke holes in the container to let out the steam. That was not my experience at Phoenix. It was a rubbery, falling-apart mess. Even my daughter, who adores fried tofu, didn't care for it. I have to say I was disappointed.

  • Amanda D.

Service was good, seated right away on nice patio. Just thought the food was terrible. House dressing on salad was very sweet. Sauce for spring rolls is too sweet, tangy. Pad Thai sauce was simply inedible - tasted like vinegar & corn syrup! I honestly could not eat it. The Phoenix chicken is cooked ok, but again the sauce is a sweet tangy sauce. What's going on with the sauces?? Too much sweet going on over here.

Food was really good as always. Service was not great. Did not get refills on my drink and the waiter asked me to order before my girl. That's just weird.

ADORE! Epitome of no-stress gluten free dining. The GF menu is extensive, accurate and inclusive. It has a great modern atmosphere and their cocktails are just perfection. PF Changs, you've been served. Had their shrimp Pad Thai and a Lychee martini (okay, two) last night - still thinking about them both today...

This place is our go- to restaurant when we want a nice sit down Asian meal. The atmosphere is relaxed yet elegant. It's rarely over- crowded (unlike the obscene wait times at pf changs). In fact, it's very comparable to Changs. I get the Phoenix shrimp without the coating and it is always plump and juicy. The rest of the family gets chicken dishes and they rave about the tenderness of the chicken. And when the weather is nice, The outdoor seating is delightful.

  • Evan L.

Great restaurant! I always get the Phoenix Lo Mein whenever I go! The service is wonderful! The waiters are very kind and always check up on you to see how you are doing! I never had a single complaint about this restaurant!

  • Jim K.

Reminded yesterday why I haven't ordered from here in years. Nothing inherently wrong with Americanized Asian food. But when it doesn't remotely resemble the named dish, is tasteless and is wildly overpriced-that is a problem Ordered take out. Ma po tofu. Not a speck of pork which is basic part of the real dish. Ordered what they call ja ja mien, which I assume is their version of a Korean noodle dish called cha chang mien. This version had overlooked noodles and maybe 2-3 ounces of minced chicken (not traditional). Total cost for these 2 dishes that had between them about 2-3 ounces of meat? $24!!!! You have to be kidding. Great reminder to never order from this overpriced, under seasoning place again. As I have seen said in other reviews at times, if I could give this place zero stars if I would.

This is pan-asian cuisine as good as it gets. The only thing I would not get on the menu is the Sushi. Completely different league from P.F. Chang's. They have managed to nicely co-opt Chinese (Cantonese, Szechuan, Taiwan & Hong Kong and American style), Singapore, some Thai, Korean and Vietnamese dishes very well. If you've eaten in Flushing, NY or anywhere in Asia, you'll realize this is not the same thing-but hey-it is exactly what they say it is-Asian Cuisine. Everything is fresh and perfectly served. Consistent every single time. Great drinks, beer and they will make your food any way you like. The duck (both ways they offer) is highly recommended. The chef specialties are sure to please, especially the noodle dishes. Highly recommended.

Probably my favorite pan-Asian restaurant in Greensboro - food is typically very good and the service and ambiance are better than their competition, including PF Chang's. Went there Friday for lunch and was a little disappointed, which is the only reason I gave it a four-star instead of five. 95% of my meal was delicious and of the standard I expect from Phoenix, but the mushrooms were dreadful. The flavor was there but the texture was terrible. I don't know how they got them both mushy and chewy at the same time. Nearly inedible. Fortunately I was able to cast them aside off my plate and enjoy the rest of my meal which, as is tradition with Phoenix, was excellent.

Another one of those gems it is so easy to overlook as we rush to the restaurant of the month, the plate of the week, the newest eatery in town - and we revisited this excellent place last night as a part of our recent effort to reconnect with old favorities. The food remains as good as ever, though pricey. The Chicken Lettuce Wraps ($7.95) and the Pork Pot Stickers (among my very favorite versions) were excellent ($6.25) - the Chicken Wrap was a huge portion, we ask for, and received, additional lettuce to finish it up - of course they charged us 50 cents more for the extra lettuce - really not cool at the prices they charge. The Beijing Roast Duck ($21) was very nice, and plenty of it, as well. The version here is close to the classic, though the skin is not as nearly crispy as the best versions I've tried. They include steamed buns with this dish, rather than chinese style pancakes most often seen with this dish, as well as Moo Shu Pork - makes it rather bready. The Dragon's Nest ($22) and the Ba Ba Black Lamb ($17.50) are both nice dishes, but the Nest in particular is simply overpriced. Their Kirin on draft is $5 a glass, and their Large Sake is $6, and for $6 you get a "Kid's" fried rice with a piece of beef or two. - so nothing here is inexpensive. The place is showing a little wear now, and the booths (to the far right and far left as you enter) are small and uncomfortable, and they will insist on jamming as many as they can into those area, while the roomier tables in the center are mainly free. The booth areas are therefore noisy, and don't provide a particularly relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. I do enjoy the food here (most of it anyway), but I'm less impressed than I've been about the overall dining experience here, especially when it is crowded and thus, noisy - and the pricing here has made this a less attractive place, to me at least. These prices should carry an aspect of "fine dining", and I didn't experience that. I've actually dropped my rating because of these things. Still like it, just not as much.

The last time I was here...the manager came to talk to my table with a bottle of Windex in his hand. That disturbed me as it was clearly a health code violation. This is the primary reason for me writing this review. It was honestly offensive. The food is pretty good. The coconut shrimp is the best dish I've had there. If I have the choice...I'm picking to go to PF Chang's in Friendly Center.

We used to frequent Phoenix for lunch after church a few times a month. Their lunch specials are great and the portions are perfect. I absolutely adore their ginger and pineapple salad dressings. My primary complaint is that they don't handle larger parties very well. We arrived around 2 for lunch, were quickly seated, but waited over 20 minutes before any took our drink order. The drinks arrived 10 minutes later, but the server still didn't take our orders. We didn't put in order until 2:40 and the food didn't arrive until 3:30! I'm not sure what type of establishment believes this is OK, but it was definitely a subpar experience considering we were one of the only tables in the restaurant at the time. Then the mixed up several of the bills and credit cards, causing some people to pay for food they didn't order. They refused to change it saying that there was nothing they could do and to contact our banks. When we asked for the owner or manager on duty, we were met with opposition yet again. Needless to say, as a group, we no longer visit Phoenix. While the food is delicious, the service is deplorable.

Someone told us this was high-end Chinese. I guess they meant high-priced, because it wasn't high-end and it wasn't Chinese. It's an Asian mix - not fusion - just confusion. So our search for good Chinese in Greensboro continues. Where's the good Chinese in Greensboro?

  • Cari M.

The food was delicious. I ordered the crab wonton appetizer and phoenix eggplant entree with brown rice. The crab wontons were a major hit with me because I'm obsessed with crab rangoon and these were actually made with real crab meat. The were cooked perfectly crispy and full of flavor. The eggplant was equally delicious with the perfect hit of spice with out being overwhelming.

Accidentally ordered sushi from here tonight. Thought I was ordering from imperial Koi but after I plugged the address into google maps and arrived at this mystery location, I realized my mistake. Ordered my usual: spicy tuna roll, salmon avocado roll, miso soup, and seaweed salad. All were fine but the sushi didn't stay together very well and the salmon didn't taste as fresh as I expect from a highly rated establishment. Needless to say, still looking for a great Greensboro sushi option. Maybe other food is better here? I may never know.

the sushi was great! had the tengu & the rising Phoenix. both was delicious. also ordered the Beijing duck and the beef chow fun. I was disappointed. why? bC before ordering the beef chow fun I specifically asked the waiter if the chow fun noodles were the wide flat rice noodles, and he said yes. I said good bC I hate when I ask to make sure it's the wide ones and I don't get the wide ones. I get the dish and to my surprise it's the skinny thin rice noodles. totally throws the dish off and I don't even bother to touch it. good thing I wasn't dining alone. the other person ate it. I would had simply sent it back and said this is not what asked for bC it's not what I made sure I asked for! Just makes me angry when I ask for something specifically and don't get it specifically. the duck however was just alright. not tasty not flavorful just bland. and cucumbers were sliced to thick... I almost choked on the damn thing! thin slices while be better. and the scallions were a waste as well. they were cut too big and too much. and not enough Hoisin sauce provided. also had a Mai Thai. but it was not very good. I'm a mai Thai drink drinker and this my friend was not Mai Thai!!! it was pink!!! tastes mostly cranberry and alcohol.. what happen to pineapple grenadine OJ.. whatever it's not suppose to be light pink see thru!! I would only go back for the sushi.. you can never go wrong with sushi!

Consistently excellent service, exceptional quality and flavorful dishes, and an overall decent value for the dining experience. Love this place!!

One of my favorite Restaurants in Greensboro, which I've been going to since they opened up. I especially love the Double Feature, and usually add a child's portion of Beef Lo Mein. The Chicken Lettuce Wrap is a great appetizer. Also enjoy the Rising Phoenix Sushi Roll. Great Atmosphere and fast, friendly service. I even had large Meetup Groups there, and everyone loved it.

I feel like this place is more enjoyable than PF Changs. It doesn't have the chain feeling, and the food is just as enjoyable. The Beijing Roast Duck was incredibly buttery and rich without being greasy. We ended up with a 30-40 minute wait on a Friday evening and it was definitely worth it!

Love this place. It's uncommon to find many standalone Asian restaurants that are not buffets nowadays. This place is like PF Changs but better. I love the soups and have had 3-4 of their entrees. Great place for a date, family dinner, or whatever. I like to bring people from out of town here.

Cheap for the food they serve. Really nice place to take a lady, and also, get the pheonix chicken. It's Exquisite!

Phoenix is my favorite option for Asian in Greensboro. It hits all the marks - wide variety on the menu, food is consistently good, prices are extremely reasonable, space is well-designed and maintained and a convenient location from most areas of town. There are menu options representing many different Asian cuisines; main dishes, noodles/rice, lots of apps and even sushi. Highlights for me - I really like their hot and sour soup, the lettuce wraps and the firecracker shrimp, but they could use a bit more heat! The moo shu pork is a go-to fave entree for me. I love the little pancakes and you still get rice (choice of brown or white - nice!). So, I just take the rice home with the extra moo shu and have a whole leftover meal. Last night I was dining with a party of 8. It was Homecoming night so the place was packed with teenagers in sparkly dresses and crooked ties. But, the restaurant handled a packed house well and our server was very friendly. I decided to get away from my moo shu mainstay and we tried the spring rolls - excellent, larger than you get at most Thai places, the Korean BBQ and, the piece de resistance, the Beijing duck. Wow, the Beijing duck is AMAZING! They serve it with steamed buns that you wrap around the duck, add some spring onions and cucumber spears, drizzle with Hoisin and . . . party in your mouth! I put a picture up of the duck on here. So, local or just visiting - Phonix is a great option for Asian in Greensboro!

So the first visit was a bust but we gave it another try! I love the Phoenix delight add broccoli, the crab wontons are delic. The amaretto cheesecake wontons are awesome. The servers are not always the best but overall they are ok. It is always busy in the evenings but the food comes out pretty fast. We have had the sushi a few times but it is ok not to die for....give it a try

This place is just like PF changs. I have to admit that their fried rice is a lot better though. Some things are authentic but some not so much. I ordered the eggplant dish one time and it was not cooked all the way as I would like it to be but otherwise we sometimes get their fried rice for take out but overall we would rather order from golden china it seems more authentic and the price is a little bit cheaper.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. I've been coming here long before PF Chang's ever came to Greensboro. I tried PF Chang's just so I could compare, but I still love Phoenix, hands down. Better food, better prices, better quality, better atmosphere. I love being able to walk into Phoenix at any given time and not have to wait (or have a very minimal wait). The atmosphere is wonderful- quieter than PF's and romantic...and I love the little half booths to cozy up to someone you love. The staff is always amazingly on top of everything, from friendly greeters at the door, to the waiters who dote on you hand and foot without being overly intrusive. And of course, the food is fantastic! Phoenix has better quality food and more of it for the price you pay at the giant chain restaurant. Just to name a few of my favorite recommendations: Appetizer- Chicken Lettuce Wraps (a favorite in my family for spicy and non spicy eaters), Sushi Entrees- Thai Chicken, Beijing Roast Duck, Dragon's Nest, Wok Stirred Flounder, and Honey Chicken (or ask them to do Honey Shrimp) If you haven't been here, try it out! You won't be disappointed!

I tree this restaurant two times now First time the food was just okay, not hot and the wait staff slow The second time it was better Of course we were there at 11 in the morning being the first guests to arrive Wait staff was great Prices are a little high for the quality. The sushi rolls are not formed correctly because they fall apart easily

I was very excited to try this place, mainly because people had started saying that it was better than PF Changs. This. Is. False. I'm sorry but it just is. I love the atmosphere and the environment. The service was great. He was on top of everything and professional. The food was where this place feel short. We were told by our server that everything was fresh and not frozen. That just can not be true. We ordered the lettuce wraps, Mongolian Beef, and the Dragon's Nest. The lettuce wraps could not hold a candle that the wraps at the Changs. The consistency was like Alpo. The Mongolian Beef was dry and over cooked. The DN was disappointing. It was one of the most expensive dishes on the menu and was a creative but sad dish. The veggies were fresh and tasty but the seafood was tasteless and doubtfully not frozen. I guess it was the hype that got me. I may try it again someday but I would caution anyone to compare it to PF Changs. Shame.

My mom and I tried Phoenix this evening after looking for a sit-down Chinese restaurant. I was impressed with the decor and the hosts and worried that I was slightly under-dressed. We started with Jasmine tea and spring rolls; both of which were served very hot and quickly! I really liked the spring rolls, the cabbage and carrots were very finely shredded and they were not overly greasy. I ordered sauteed green beans with scallions and brown rice- I was definitely impressed. My mother ordered the red curry and thoroughly enjoyed her meal, her only criticism was that it wasn't terribly spicy. I wish they had a larger vegetarian menu and I got the impression that meat or fish dishes couldn't be prepared vegetarian as the dishes offered "beef, chicken, or shrimp," with no mention of substituting tofu. I didn't ask my waiter though, so I could be wrong! I'm definitely excited to try their veggie lo mein or sauteed eggplant.

I'm probably one of the few 'round these parts who doesn't like Phoenix Restaurant. I've been there at least five times and we've had consistently slow service but the biggest problem is that as soon as my son ate there, he broke out in blotches during the meal, which is the signal that they're adding sulfites and/or MSG into the food (he's allergic). Our gals group had a lunch there on a business day (they knew we were coming and wanted separate checks). They had difficulty bringing everyone's food (they had one server for our group who also had other tables) and getting our checks was even harder. They didn't have the staff to feed 12 women and the few others who were there. My Asian friends love it and I've given it several tries, but won't go back. It's not special enough to suffer through the bad service but mostly, I don't prefer chemicals in my food.

Better than PF Changs but a little over priced. It seems to always be busy though. I am picky about my Asian food.

This restaurant never disappoints. The sushi, wonton soup, and both entrees were perfect. I enjoyed the duck with the steamed buns, which had a crispy skin and was very tasty with the hosin sauce. My husband enjoyed the shrimp fried rice.

I've heard good things about this place but have never been pleased. My first visit I sat at the bar with my friend, and could see the staff eating in the kitchen, GROSS!!! Totally not sanitary!! My second visit, my food was alright but I was not pleased to over hear the manager on duty making a RACIAL comment, not professional. I tried again and all around the service is just not good. I will forever turn this place down and anything I ever hear good about it. The food may be "OK" but im not going to go pay high prices to see the Staff eating, racists comments, or to be treated like crap.

This is a great local restaurant with an excellent menu and waitstaff. We thoroughly enjoyed the Mongolian Beef and Basil Chicken. The menu is similar to PF Chang's but much fresher. Next asian food craving - I will be back.

Excellent sashimi and sushi rolls! All the food was aesthetically easing and delicious! Our server was young and funny! Mixed drink tip- don't get anything with bong water in the title.

Take this restaurant with a grain of salt. Or more like a ton of salt because that's how the food is prepared. Don't say your kidneys were not forewarned. This Asian-influenced restaurant does little to impress. The food was nothing special, nor was the service, during our recent visit. All four of our diners had the same reaction: certainly not a "do again." Located in a suburban strip shopping center, Phoenix Asian Cuisine is modern and nice-enough looking. But I'd rather go to one of Greensboro's several less-modern, but better Asian restaurants.

My wife and I tried Phoenix for the third and definitely last time tonight. We want to like Phoenix since it's close by and convenient. Unfortunately each time we've tried we were struck by two things: food that is low quality and overcooked. We've tried many dishes including lettuce wraps(awful mushy mess), firecracker shrimp ( over cooked and horrible breading), sautéed vegetables, cucumber salad(soggy) , red curry chicken, honey chicken, spring rolls, winter rolls , Mongolian beef, etc. Remember, we want to like it. Also the spices on most of the dishes taste the same. It's like they have three ingredients: vinegar, sugar, and more vinegar. The real problem is that the food here is poor even for cheap takeout standards but they charge sit down prices. Save your money and have a much better meal - takeout from Golden Dragon on Battleground - they deliver consistently fresh vegetables and their wings and spring rolls are the best in Gboro. Golden Dragons Spicy Kung Pao and sesame chicken aren't Chinatown-good but definitely superior to Phoenix and at Half The Price. We gave Phoenix three strikes - they're out.

Great service, great atmosphere, and great food! I've eaten there twice and both times had the Kung Pao Chicken. Amazing! Just wish it was closer to our place.

My husband and I visited Phoenix AC on a week night. We arrived at what I consider a reasonable dinner date time; 6:45 p.m. The restaurant is very large; parking inadequate; decor pleasant; under staffed for the number of patrons on a week night; waited 15 minutes before being approached by our waitress to ask for drink order only to then wait another 10 minutes for our drinks to only then wait another 15 minutes for her to come take our order. So 40 minutes after entering the place, we've ordered our food... it doesn't get better. 20 minutes later my husbands appetizer arrived. He ordered the pot stickers, steamed. He said they were very good ... not awesome... but very good. 20 minutes after that his entree arrived. It was good. Not on par with what he expected for the $14 price tag .... but not horrible. The bottom line is we are still searching for "our chinese restaurant". I was unimpressed by everything about it considering they have been touted as an amazing restaurant by other reviews here on Yelp. Perhaps they have had a change in management ... I notice the excellent reviews are mostly older...

For Greensboro Asian food - definitely gets 5 stars. From the outside (it is located in a strip mall) you would never guess how spacious & modern the interior is. The food is fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. I will definitely be back!

Very good, indeed. I was very happy with this choice for dinner with a few friends. I got the spicy chicken and had a roll of sushi to start. It was cheaper than an app and I hadn't eaten all day. I was starving. The chicken dish was very large and I definitely got a lot of food. I will say, though, it's not as good as PF Chang's Spicy Chicken. Phoenix's pieces of chicken were bigger, but not in a good way. They were longer pieces of thinner chicken with a bit more breading. Now, I will say this is a great place. I don't want to just compare it to PF Changs, but so many other reviewers do. Also, this restaurant wants to be compared to PF Changs with dishes like Spicy Chicken, Lettuce Wraps, and Mongolian Beef... Great experience, and wonderful service. Very good food. I would definitely go back and you should definitely try it.
