Excellent wings; go with the blue cheese dressing over the ranch. More importantly, the drinks are tall and stiff. The bartenders know what they are doing and they make'em right. This is my new watering hole when I'm in town!!!

How hard is it to get two glasses of water before ordering? Obviously, very hard... We decided to try Spirits tonight for drinks snd dinner. Needless to say we left without even getting the waters. As our waters sat on the bar for a very long time., Our waitress was too busy talking to other servers and rummaging through her purse.. At this point we were very hungry, and of course, thirsty. We decided to leave. To our surprise, well not really.. We walked past the servers and not one even noticed or said, " Have a great evening" So sad we will not be returning!

Surprisingly good fish tacos! Didn't expect seafood to be good here in North Carolina or at a bar, but these fish tacos were awesome! $12 for 2 huge fish tacos and a side of rice and beans. The fish was a few pieces of fried tilapia so of course anything fried is delicious! Left the restaurant full and happy.

As far as sports bars go, Spirits is one of my favorites. It's tucked away in Cary, so it's never super crowded, which is a big plus for me. It's not fancy or chic or trendy like the places you'll find downtown, but it gets the job done. The beer list is great, food is good, and the servers are friendly. I've been here a couple times since I've moved to the Raleigh area, and I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the mood for drinks and a low-key dinner.

Great to hang out and have a drink .. Went there with a friend last week , loved the IPAs .. Also got the sangria, sleigh crush, house fries and fish tacos. Beers - excellent! We got their beer samplers collection (called the "beer flight" or something like that) .. Told our server to surprise us and we were! Loved all that she got out for us :) Sangria - wouldn't recommend it..it tasted horrible..like rotten fruit :( Sleigh crush - brandy-based cocktail with notes of raspberry etc..nicely done! Fish tacos - having lived in California for quite a bit, I'm very picky about the tacos..but this came quite close to what you would expect to get in Cali..my taste buds were happy! Will definitely go back..it's cool that we have this place so close to home in Raleigh/Cary!

Great little casual dining, sports bar atmosphere. The food was probably even a step above a pub, and everyone was friendly and mostly efficient. Everyone at the table raved about their shepherd's pie, which apparently used to be a regular menu item and now only pops up occasionally on special. I enjoyed a Cobb salad (sub steak for chicken because beef) for lunch and then later for dinner because the portion was pretty liberal (like Cobb salads are on occasion). FYI - Google Maps tells you you've arrived at your destination when you are in the middle of the road so keep your eyes peeled. I ended up in the questionable shopping center across the street because it was the easiest way for me to turn from the direction I came.

We live about a mile away from this place, so when we want to go out to eat but don't want to drive far we usually come here. They have a sports bar feel with several tv's and outdoor seating. Unfortunately if you do sit in the nice outdoor area it's considered "smoking" and the "non smoking" outdoor area is enclosed by bushes and sometimes vinyl panels. Spirits has great food and a wide variety of it at that. They have monthly specials where you will find a appetizer, salad, burger, wing sauce, entree or two and mac and cheese. They do change their menu from winter to summer, usually the fish leaves in the winter months. Some of our favorites are the sweet potato chips appetizer, fish tacos, bbq mac and cheese, greek salad with shrimp. I will mention their fries are like KFC's potato wedges and not good in my opinion. The reason why they do not get 5 stars is because of service recently within the last six - eight months. DO NOT go here is you are looking for something fast..... even when there is only 4 other tables in the restaurant. I believe the servers slack off more when they are slow. We now will only eat at the bar or outside when its nice.

Spirits is a great place for tasty food, friendly, prompt service, and delicious drinks! The casual atmosphere lets you relax and enjoy "from scratch" dishes that are always full of flavor. Manager Cindy runs a well-oiled machine, hustling and ensuring that service is quick, food is hot and well-prepared, drinks are fresh, tables are cleared, and patrons are happy! We love meeting friends there for trivia every week! One of our favorite Cary spots!

Went here last night with a group of dads for a dads night out... And this is just your typical pub.. There is nothing special at all, a few TVs, a bar, some fables and typical pub grub... The beer selection is ok, definitely not great but nice... The best part we hit happy hour on drafts, which could make it reasonable. The place wasn't busy and was helped immediately. Our waitress was also very pleasant. For the group of 8 of us, we never really had empty glasses and was always around when someone wanted to order. Now to the food, I ordered the heart attack burger as I am sucker for burgers that have breakfast on top (egg and bacon). This is usually my test of a pub to see if they can get the fried egg right. Chalk up another place that completely overcooked the egg... It was very disappointing as the burger was cooked perfectly (medium). Was lacking a little seasoning, but still a decent burger. Since its just a pub, starts with 4 stars, the way overcooked egg knocked it to 3. The sweet potato chips looked solid as did the wings. The Mac 'n cheese is definitely not worth the price based on the portion size. The biggest disappointment was one of the guys got the special of chicken fried steak it was terrible looking. It might have been the size of a hamburger not even close to the size of the plate. The cabbage looked nasty, something out of your nose... Very very meh....

Awesome food and great beer!! You can't ask for more in a Pub! Make sure to try the Hummus Platter, Volcano Shrimp Tacos, and the Turkey Bombs (if available).

We came here on a weekday night. There was no wait and we sat outside on the patio and enjoyed a drink special. They offer one every night. For an appetizer we had onion rings and they were fabulous!! We had a burger and mac and cheese as our main course. The burger was just okay, nothing special. The mac and cheese was good however there was pulled pork in the dish and I found a large bone in my food. I also had a large piece of fat in there as well. My waitress was not around as much as I would of liked and we had to ask another server for help. I would return for the delicious onion rings and the drink special but that's about it.

After hearing good things about Spirits Pub I stopped in one afternoon around the holidays for lunch. I decided to sit at the bar to order food and finish an email for work. The bar area was pretty crowded and only the bartender was taking food and drink orders. After taking my drink order twice I was able to order some lunch. I had the buffalo chicken strips. They are good. The buffalo sauce was a little over powering not so bad I could not eat. I will have to go back again to see if the service is any better. The beer selection was pretty good. Did not have a change to sample much but there was a wide variety.

Spirits is a little hidden, so it's quiet and not crowded. I don't feel that reflects the quality of the place, though. My fiance and I came here on a Saturday afternoon and had a couple beers and burgers. The burgers were one of the best I've had so far in the area. Blows away all the burger-specialty places around that I feel only have mediocre burgers. It's the first time in as long as I can remember that I ordered a burger medium and it actually came out medium! I got a nice side salad with mine and my fiance got the fries, which were really good. They have a nice outdoor patio area, too. I was happy with their beer selection, the service, the environment, and mostly with the food. Definitely one of the better bars to go to for eats! They have a decent tv setup, too, but we haven't been here for any games, yet.

Synopsis: The food and service might bring me back, but nothing else really stands out. Ambience: 3/5 Background music and ESPN on several TVs scattered about. Not really a sports bar, but you could watch a game there. Food: 4/5 The burgers are huge. My wife and I split the Bruschetta Burger, which was very good. Drinks: 2/5 Much more of a beer bar - they do have an extensive craft beer selection. My wife ordered a double Fireball Whisky on the rocks. I know most people drink straight shots of Fireball, or make bombs with Apple Ale or Cider, but she just likes to sip it as the ice slowly melts. Well, in any event, she got her drink, took one sip, and instantly knew that they watered it down. Had me take a sip, and she was right. The color was clearer than if the ice had been melting for 20 minutes. They don't keep Campari in stock, so I wasn't able to get my go-to Negroni. My Old Fashioned tasted OK, but my wife's experience made me wonder if they'd light-poured the bourbon. Service: 4/5 My wife asked for a table not too close to a speaker, and while that's difficult to find (normally a Good Thing), the host took time to check the noise levels of several different tables to see which one was the quietest. I liked that. Our waitress was attentive and got everything right. When I used the yelp coupon, she was spot-on and knew exactly how to process it.

Great food and great service. We sat at the bar and had the Salmon and Fish tacos.. I love the combo with the black beans and rice... wish there were bit more rice than the beans... everything was so tasty.. including the beers we had... I will definitely be back! I heard the mac and cheese is incredible!

I've been to Spirits half a dozen times before, but mostly just for drinks and apps. I finally took my husband and son there to try out the menu. We went on a Sunday night so it wasn't very busy, and there were a lot of open tables and plenty of seating outside. I got my usually drink order, the "Beer Flight", which is 5 small cups of beer samples. The managers choice tonight was a bunch of IPAs, not my preference, so instead got a sampling of wheat beers and Red Oaks. This is one of the few places I can find Red Oak beers, and I love the Hummingbird. My husband got a beer from the Carolina Brewery, and my son had a pink lemonade. This is a very family-friendly pub, and they had a decent kid's menu. My son got the spaghetti with the sauce on the side, as he's a bit picky about that. He actually ate all the spaghetti, which is saying something. I got the french onion soup for an appetizer, and the Chinese chicken salad. The french onion soup had too much cheese, and it wasn't Gruyere cheese (yes I can tell the difference). Too much bread, not enough onion and broth. I probably wouldn't get it again. The Chinese chicken salad was okay, but again, I probably wouldn't order it again. It was rather bland. Could have used something sour or salty or spicy to add a little kick. My husband got the Wolfpack burger with the sweet potato fries. He said he really liked the burger, though it was huge, and the sweet potato fries are always awesome. He ranked it on top of both Tribeca and Tyler's as far as pub food and drinks goes. Personally, I love the drinks and service here, but I don't think the food is as good as Tribeca. I'll certainly continue to come here on a regular basis for the beer flight and sweet potato fries, but I don't think I would come back for meals in the near future.

Great outdoor space! We had the tots & mac and cheese with local beers. The tots were good but over priced for the amount that you get. They have a great craft beer selection. We got 2 different types of mac and cheese. Both were kinda plain considering. The service was good

I went to Spirits on a Sunday to watch pro football. For the location (in a random little office complex??, or so I think--I'm not really sure what else is in the building), it was surprisingly welcome on the inside as a sports bar. They had a lot of TVs and a really long bar with plenty of room to sit and eat/drink at the bar while watching the TVs overhead. The other half of the bar had plentiful tables. I ordered the buffalo tenders. The plate was small (I wasn't expecting something huge since it was $6.50)--there were four medium-size tenders. The sauce was good--hot but not too hot to enjoy and the skin was really crispy. The service was nice and prompt. They also have $2.25 domestic bottles on Sundays--perfect for football watching. I'd definitely go back here to watch sports--especially on a low key day. It wasn't too crowded so it would be good for either groups or to go alone to sit at the bar.

Great food, fantastic atmosphere and service. I found this place a few months ago, and I absolutely love it. I eat here at least once every week, and recommend it to all of my friends.

Service here has been going downhill for the last year. We've increasingly encountered inattentive waitstaff and wait staff with bad attitudes. Food is consistently average, portion sizes are never the same and their dessert menu was awful, with only two items: some type of gross bread pudding and "fluffernut" something. It was peanut butter mixed with marshmallow fluff. GROSS! They used to have an awesome chocolate brownie ala mode but I guess they took it off the menu. Went there on a Saturday night at 10:30 and had the bartender tell us as we walked in "kitchen is getting ready to close". No late night bar menu. Also do not go in expecting to watch a Carolina Hurricanes game despite the Canes Jersey's and paraphernalia they have hanging around! ! One time we went on a weeknight, hardly anyone in there but some people watching football on the many TV's in the bar. We asked our server if he could get the Canes game on ONE of the many TV's and came back saying the manager said no, because other people were already watching them. I could understand that if there was only 1 TV in the place, but there are several TV's in the bar area and this is a LOCAL TEAM. Went again last night hoping to catch the Canes game which was bring broadcast locally, this time we were told the manager couldn't figure out how to get it on the TV. I think we're done with this place for while!

We've been to Spirits multiple times. We often take out-of-town visitors because the food and drinks are so consistently good. I absolutely love their veggie burger. They hand-make it and it's packed with flavor. My fiancee often orders the wings, and they've never disappointed. We have, however, been somewhat disappointed by the mac and cheese. We've never had an issue with service. This is one place that we feel confident getting food at, even after 10 PM. I would definitely recommend.

I had the heart-attack burger with potato wedges. We also had the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. The atmosphere was cool and laid back. A good place to watch a game but still clean and attentive service. My burger was cooked well-done as requested, but still juicy and not overcooked. The bacon was crispy, as requested. The fried egg on my burger was perfect - not overly runny and not overly fried. The mozzarella sticks were alright in my opinion - an order of four large sticks. Very cheesy. Tasted similar to Friday's sticks. The potato wedges were good but not as good as my favorite wedges at Carolina Ale House.

I went here with my Burger group back on May 13th. I took a poll of the group and based on very subjective criteria I scored them in several different categories on a scale of 1 to 10. What a great "off the beaten path" this place is! BUN: 7.2 BEEF: 8.1 CHEESE: 6.6 EXTRAS: 7.1 AMBIANCE: 6.5 ACCURACY: 7.4 SPEED: 4.0 VALUE: 6.2 OVERALL SCORE: 7.2 if I equate the 7.2/10 score to the 5 star rating it becomes 3.6 Stars My only problem with this place, and i experienced it both times I've been, is the service can be suspect. The first time i went they couldn't seem to get my order right. The second time I went they took FOREVER to bring our food. However the food is worth the wait!

I work right around the corner from Spirits and this has become my go to place for a nice lunch. I will be honest, the first time I went to Spirits I was a little "rowdy", having just come from a Hurricanes game. Spirits was about half way in between where I and my friend lived, so we figured that would be a good place to end the night. I am pretty sure I only had a beer or two, but I do remember talking to the Bar Manager that night. I ended up returning to Spirits for lunch a few weeks later and ran into the same Bar Manager and he remembered who I was, or at the very least where I worked. He recommended a few things on the menu, and the food I ordered was great. Since I have been here so many times I have pretty much settled in on my go to dish. I always get the Southwest Steak Salad. I love this dish as they actually have grilled to order steak put on top of the salad (and when you order Medium Rare they make it Medium Rare) as well as a few Onion Rings thrown on top. I also recommend the Shepard's Pie when it is in season (Winter season) and it will fill you up in no time. The beer choices here are good, but just short of great, which is why I did not give them a full 5 stars (they get more like a 4.5 from me). They usually carry a good mix of local craft beers, as well as your usual suspects. Spirits has never let me down in the past, and that is why when I have someone come into town, especially a beer drinker, I usually bring them here as it is a little classier then the usual bars I frequent.

OMG best bar around the area! We use to go every Sunday for football and occasionally Monday night or even Saturday if we weren't at a State game. Unfortunately we moved to other side of town so we don't goes as often but we do every chance we get. Very nice bar to watch games at. Upgrade from an ale house or wild wings without be snotty tootie. Very clean... There's dining area and bar area plus some games. Lots of TVs. Bar staff is great and very prompt. Only had beers here and the selection is great. They do a lot of specials. Wings are to die for. Very very good and if you like less sauce order on the side and they will also make crispy for you. Lots of flavors. Steal and blue salad is amazing. We usually order salad and wings and split. Burgers are good to not best in town but very good. Very consistent!

I like this place since I've had good food and good service everytime I've gone in. Very nice selection of local draft beers. they will find the game you want to watch if its on. The space is an odd layout and the bar can get crowded at peak times. This place is reliably good.

Great beer selection. If you like mac and cheese, this is THE place. Just had the sloppy joe mac and cheese, heaven. Would be a great place for Sunday football. Also have healthy options along with standard bar fare. Yum. Just yum. Live large.

Spirits and Grub is a long haul from my home, but it is worth the trip just for the Mac 'n Cheese of all varieties. The food and service there are outstanding, but it's the mac 'n cheese that keeps bringing me back.

Spirits has become a regular spot for me. They have a respectable beer selection and always have several beers I enjoy - and I'm a beer snob. It's not Tyler's Tap Room expansive, but the manager does a very good job picking a nice selection of beers and rotating taps. The food is not just burgers and wings, and my wife can get a very nice salad or entree. I really like their wings - they are much better here than at those lousy chain wing joints that are everywhere these days. Order them extra crispy and wet for a nice treat. Perhaps the biggest advantage this place has is the management and staff who have been part of the owners' restaurant empire for many years. Even if something goes awry, they are happy to fix it for you. I like a pub that makes me and my family feel welcome. I can feel comfortable bringing in my sports/drinking buddies or my kids and grandchildren. It works for both office meet-ups as well as casual dining with the family. It's clean, upbeat, and the regulars are fun and welcoming.

Sports bar with great food. All kinds of burgers, salads, finger food, just what you expect at a sports bar. But it's properly prepared. Wait staff very knowledgeable of the menu and friendly. Many beer choices. We go there with a group of 10-12 every several weeks and have a great time. Lots of people at tables of 2,4 6 enjoying a meal and a game. Lunch is quieter, excellent for a business lunch. Outside seating available.

I had a business/social lunch with a buddy today. My friend recommended the place a couple weeks ago. I was skeptical after reading the reviews here. The reviews are old. I checked the web site. It doesn't work. I phoned to make sure they were still in business. After a long time, someone answered the phone. Today, the service was attentive. The food was good. The atmosphere was loud and not at all conducive to a conversation. The menu tended toward heavy and one note. The prices were a bit high. Would I go back? Yes. Would I recommend it? No. There is nothing to recommend this place ahead of a dozen other places.

They have now fired the best full time bartender they ever had in Lisa. She believed in customer service like no other employee they have ever had. I used to love this bar. Now, not so much. I may stop in here for a beer once or twice a month, but will no longer be a regular.

I've returned to Spirits 4 times now, and while the food has remained consistently average to above-average, the service stinks. Three out of the four times I've had a male server who has a chip on his shoulder and an attitude. One time he seemed REALLY perturbed that we weren't ready to order when he came to the table, and another night we received our appetizer order, ate it, had zero water in our glass and he still hadn't come to get our dinner order- all while he stood near the corner, watching the television. We had to get up and ask him to take our dinner order. I really want to like this place due to it's proximity to our house and their myriad of food choices that don't taste half bad, but I just can't get over some of their inadequacies.

I had a special it was a salad with Apples, Gorgonzola, and walnuts on top. Very big portion and very tasty. House Chardonnay was good. Nice ambiance for a sports bar - not loud, lots of TV's but subdued lighting. Good service.

Great NC beer list. Great long bar to hang out at. Excellent outdoor seating. Food brought to you by the owner of Daniel's Italian restaurants in Fuquay and Apex. This adds up to a great dining experience in Cary. The menu is mostly burgers and sandwiches, but they do have a few dinner items. Great appetizers and i do like their wedge cut potato 'fries'. I would recommend the fried fish sandwich if you're tired of burgers. And be sure to try a side of their plain mac-n-cheese.

I have been a few times and food is ok, nothing special. I enjoy the beer on tap and it's a great place for some appetizers and a few cold ones after work with your colleagues. However, my last visit was horrible. Will never go to this place again. There were 2 bartenders and service was okay. $5 for a beer on draft which I think is a bit outrageous. One of my colleagues ordered food to go, the manager came out after 30-mins of the order being submitted and advised they did not put the sauce on the side but my colleagues said she would take it anyway. Manager advised she will provide a discount. $5 off $19 food bill! LOL - are you kidding me. So my other colleague asked the bartender to ask the manager that is should be free considering it was their mistake and the reason she ordered with sauce on the side was because her child is diabetic! Well the bartender came back out went to the other bartender with no personality and he then proceeded to slam down the ticket and when asked what was this, we got a head nod. We were then ignored for the remainder of the time we finished our drink. I have to say, I have never experienced such rudeness in my life. Let's just say you're lucky you got a 15% tip because you lost out on the 25% tip! Unprofessional service, he acted like the food credit was coming out of his pocket. But little did he know, we were generous tippers until he took on a huge attitude!

I like this place the building is pointy like the Flat Iron Building in New York and the patio seating is decent. Inside has good decor and plenty of TVs to watch a game. I do like to drink here and the bar food is very good. Last night we had buffalo chicken wontons which were like egg rolls with shredded buffalo chicken and tater tots (homemade from mashed potatoes) and they both were good. They also have a cheesy-sausage dip that is a pretty good appetizer. The main courses here looks good when described but I it seems I am usually a little disappointed with my meal. Their award-winning burgers (The Firecracker burger is a little dry and tasteless IMHO) are just okay but when you read the description they seem like they would be awesome. I really like to come here to watch a game and have drinks (their strong suit is a good beer selection) and watch a game but for dinner it's just average.

Ordered the steak Roquefort off the daily specials menu, it was quite a disappointed , I ordered the blue cheese sauce on the side , and requested the steak be cooked to a medium level. Well , it came out well done (after a lengthy wait) and required a sawing like motion to cut, the baked potato was obviously left over from lunch, since dinner hour was starting that was quite annoying as well, the asparagus spears were far and away the highlight of the meal. Have been several times before and always been pleased as my usual order is one the Mac and Cheese specials which are always good. In fairness my dining companions report the Shepard pie and garden veggie sandwich were both delicious, for me it just wasn't anywhere near what I hd enjoyed on previous visits, our waitress was friendly and personable- the kitchen staff failed here -

I have driven by Spirits Pub many times and have always wanted to stop in and grab a drink. I finally got a chance a few days ago and I was impressed. The placing is very inviting and they have a cool outdoor area as well. I stopped in for a drink and had a chance to look through the menu. From what I read the food seems to be really good as well and I hope to come back and try it sometime. The service was good on the night I went and they have some great daily specials. Kudos to a great pub.

Always love when I get a chance to go here. Great food, excellent service and a really nice atmosphere, particularly on the patio. I am really addicted to the southwest steak salad and the greek salad (definitely a good idea to add the shrimp). I will be back many times.

This is a nice sports bar but not a four star establishment for me. I have tried the mac and cheese and it is so-so. Meatloaf is good and their award winning burger is just ok. I love burgers so I was a little let down by that. Local to me so glad to have a decent bar.

I was in Cary competing in a major tournament, and was very very hungry when I came to Spirits Pub & Grub. Spirits did not disappoint at all, I left full and very happy! This was definitely the best meal I ate in Cary during my 4 day trip there! Next time I'm in town, I'm definitely returning! We started out the meal with firecracker shrimp tacos, which were so delicious! The shrimp was fried perfectly, and not overcooked. It had a sweet and spicy flavor to it, and came in warm tortillas with a fresh slaw on top. The textures of the dish mixed well together - crunchy/spicy shrimp with soft/cold slaw in a warm tortilla. My boyfriend and I both ordered burgers, although their mac and cheese menu looked great too. I got the "Baaaah-d Burger" which might be the best burger I've ever had. It comes with goat cheese and apricot chutney and applewood smoked bacon. The sweetness of the chutney, mixed with the tangy-ness of the goat cheese was really amazing. The bacon added nice smokey crunch to a perfectly medium-rare burger. I couldn't put it down after I started eating it. Although the menu says that their firecracker burger has won awards, I would definitely go for this one if you want to experience something delicious and unique! The servers were fast and very attentive. My water glass was never empty. The server gave great beer recommendations, that paired well with the burgers. I can't find anything negative to say about the food, ambiance or service at this place. I am giving them 5 stars for an outstanding meal!

Let me start off by saying the only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars was because they have limited parking (although I was able to park across the street). That's always a drag. That being said, you HAVE to go to Spirits for their mac n' cheese menu and their great beer selection. I went for the first time this past Thurs and discovered it was pint night. They have around 20 drafts, all $3.50 on Thurs. I found out after the fact that wings were on special on Thurs as well, but that's ok because the Mac I had was awesome. Eastern BBQ Mac. Mac, BBQ pork, slaw and hush puppies. The vinegar in the BBQ was the perfect compliment to the Mac. My buddy had one of their burgers, and he said he'll definitely be back for another. Looks like they have plenty of specials to offer (food and drink) no matter the day you're there. I also found out they do trivia for gift certificates on Wednesdays. All in all, one of the better bar experiences I've had in Cary.

My husband and I were staying in Cary for a couple of days and looking for a nearby restaurant that didn't have through the roof prices or require us to order at the counter. I stumbled upon Spirits searching online and decided to give it a try. It was a real spot-hitter - my husband and I agree that the burgers were the best we've had in quite a while. I had the bruschetta burger, which was unique and very flavorful! My husband's mushroom and swiss burger was excellent as well. Both of them were cooked perfectly and tasted great! The had a decent selection of beer, which was also a plus. There were a couple of weak points though. The potato wedges were okay, but nothing special and ours should have taken out of the fryer a few minutes earlier. Also, the place was quite noisy and we felt that the music should have been toned down for the early evening service (we were there at 6). Overall, though, it was great and not too expensive for the quality of food! I highly recommend it!

This was my first visit here. I met a friend for some NFL football. I love the decor and look of this place, it's not a trashy sports bar like many places I have visited. The beer selection isn't huge, but it is sizable and very solid overall. They have a lot of local choices which I was a fan of. The food was really good and timely. My friend has eaten here a number of times and said it is all really good. He knows food so I value his opinion. The staff was super nice all afternoon. I plan to come back for some more football. Go Browns!

Great beer selection, food was pretty good. It was a few months since I've been but I'm pretty sure I had the lamb burger and it was top-notch. I've written reviews for other places with lamb burgers, and they didn't come close to this. The beer was a little pricey, and the service was slightly above average. Waited a while on napkins and one of the others in our party waited a long while and never got mayo. No biggie though.

Prior to my gf's return trip back to Jersey we decided we needed some grub and a few drinks to relax. We stopped into this place not knowing much about it. Once we sat down in the bar area we were greeted by a friendly bartender who gave us some recommendations for grub. After debating I opted for the Wolfpack Burger and she opted for the fish tacos. My burger was topped with pulled pork...a little over the top for me. Too much different meat flavors and didn't really go well. Her fish taco's (after a sample) would have been the better choice. Their menu is extensive, especially their burger toppings. We didn't try their wings but supposedly they are the reason why people go here (I found out after the fact). Their prices are higher than most places in the area but the quality of food is decent.

Well, after tonight's meal, I have to bump it up to 4 stars. Two words: veggie burger. I'm not a vegetarian, but I do like to go meatless from time to time. The description of this burger sounded fantastic -- black beans, corn, jalapenos and onions with special spices on a bun from Roma's down the street. It also came with a special mayo, not even sure what it was, but it was tasty. I also got to enjoy a side of potato wedges that were really well-seasoned and sprinkled with sea salt. The veggie burger was amazing -- super flavorful and had an awesome texture. It fell apart a little towards the end, but I gobbled up each bite. Our service was excellent, and they even gave us some seasoned freshly-popped popcorn to snack on before our food arrived, which was great because I was starving! The mood was fun and they were having trivia night; it seems they have a lot of different events/specials each night of the week. Can't wait till the warm weather stays and I can enjoy eating outside.

We've been to Spirits twice now, tucked away in that funny corner of Cary next to the Circus hot dog place and across the street from the Indian restaurants. The atmosphere is all sports bar with a million tvs that I think you can see from almost any seat. It's not overly loud or obnoxious though. The servers we have had were attentive and eager to please. No disappearing servers here. The menu has a little bit of everything from tasty burgers to yummy mac n cheese in different flavors. Yesterday we had fried oysters ( a special) appetizer. The oysters were really good, but I would have liked a few more for the price ($9). We shared a Smoky burger which had bacon, bbq sauce, and an onion ring on it. Delicious! Very good burger, juicy, and tasty. We opted for the sweet potato fries too, which were great. They do have a kiddo menu and it is a fine place to bring the kids - though I've only brought mine for lunch, so dinner time might be different. The beer selection is good and they have some interesting drinks listed on the menu too. I noticed a specials chalkboard with a drink special for each day of the week. I'll definitely go back, and I can't wait to try out the sizable patio when the spring weather is here!

I've always wondered why clothes didn't come in extra medium. As I see it, there should be some designation to indicate a size that is not only in the middle range but is remarkably equal in distance between large and a small. Alas, however, no such designation exists. But now, thanks to the Smoky Burger at Spirits Pub & Grub in Cary, that mythical place between extremes not only exists, it comes with your choice of cheese. The burger wasn't unpleasant, mind you, but the beef wasn't especially flavorful, the bun not especially fresh, and the overall taste experience did not distinguish the burger as exceptional in the annals of history.

my 5 star review is about 90% based on the sweet potato chips topped with jalapeno marmalade and bacon infused danish blue cheese sauce. let the drooling commence. their local beer selection and drink specials are a big plus. i've had great burgers and wings here, too... one day i tried their special flavor which was spicy pesto... what a yummy surprise! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for some good, unpretentious, well-executed bar grub.

Came here during one of the NFL playoff games. Had lots of tasty chicken wings, buffalo and Thai red curry, but the star was the house made sweet potato chips smothered in blue cheese with a sweet glaze. That was different and definitely yummy. Also had a light refreshing lager from a local brewery. I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and when I come back I'd like to try one of their special burgers.

We were in the mood for burgers one night and I've heard great things about this place having "never frozen" burgers. When I have my burgers, I want it to be juicy and greasy. I got the chili slaw burger. I can definitely tell that the meat was fresh, and it was "hand-formed". The flavour of the meat was good, but it just wasn't juicy enough for me. (I ordered medium rare). The bf thought the burger was really good though, he got the heart attack burger. The onion rings on the other hand was delicious. The batter was seasoned but was little bit too salty.. but the onions were sweet and chunky. YUM. The service was great though. When the music outside was too loud, they turned it down for us w/o eye rolling or question. =))) I'd come again for a casual burger dinner.

Having used the folks from Daniels for a lot of office catering over the years (note, Daniels has delicious $10/person drop off italian catering with some amazing chocolate chip cookies), I had been meaning to try their offshoot sports bar in Cary. Spirits has lots of TV, lots of outdoor seating, and they're conveniently located on the way home from bike rides in Cary. The food was good, with a highlight being the salt and pepper laced onion rings. They've also got good beer specials and a good selection of NC beers. My only beef was a server that complained about having been overwhelmed an hour before and who proceeded to get lost during our meal...we got beer through the host.

My first visit to Pub & Grub was a couple weeks ago: "Thursday night: pints of NC brewed beers on tap $3" is what the sign read as I walked in the door and thought this is starting out well. There are about 9 NC beers on tap with selections such as Red Oak and Lone Rider in the mix. There are also many other beers on tap from other parts of the US and the world. The service was so-so but the beer and food were good enough for me to come back for second chance. The menu has a variety of pub food choices, I have sampled the Scotch Egg, Potato Wedges, Burger & Mac-n-Cheese - they were all great accompaniments with the beer. Chance number 2 was very disappointing. On both visits there seemed to be plenty of staff, but only a few working. On both occasions my beer glass was dry and several waiters walked by (including the one for our table) without offering a refill. Visit #2 we sat at a table that was dirty with a glass from a former patron, I think it might have been part of the decor as it was still on the table when they cleaned up our stuff. Bottom line is I really do not want to have to make an effort to get a drink, a menu, food or my bill, all of these tasks were challenging at Spirits Pub & Grub.

Spirits (formerly Triangle Grille) is a cool bar/restaurant. As you approach the place you can't help but to notice that the building itself has a unique shape and pleasant character. It just looks a lot different from everything else you see in Cary. I guess the only downside is that it is next to a creepy looking clown hamburger joint that looks, well...scary. Daniel (of Daniels on 55 and Daniels in Fuquay) is the owner of this sheik sports bar, and he brought to it the thing that he is famous for, his food. The food is outstanding, the service is good and the bar is very nice. Spirits keeps a good number of craft beers on tap, so I highly recommend it to anyone that prefers beer of the microbrew variety. The only knock I have on Spirits is the location, it is not in the nicest part of Cary, but it definitely excels and delivers on atmosphere, food quality, good beer and service.

Ordered a chicken sandwich as a takeout. Got it back to the hotel and realized not only did they not include the honey mustard I asked for, they also didn't include a condiment of any sort. Great... nothing better than a sandwich without mayo, or mustard. Even IF they thought it was ordered without, wouldn't it make sense to throw a pack of mustard, ketchup, and mayo in there for good measure? That my friends is restaurant retardation, and highly annoying. However... the sandwich was very good once I got some honey mustard from my hotel's restaurant.

it was my youngest daughters birthday and given that she like mac and cheese I naturally searched on Yelp and found that Spirits has several renown varieties. First off the location is strange since the building appears to be an office with the entire front 1st floor consisting of the restaurant, more on how this factors into this review later. We were promptly seated and we the hostess (manager or owner) took our drink order, then the waitress came by and asked what we wanted to drink, first warning sign. In any case we ordered 20 wings and waited. The wings were good, meaty and tasty, good precursor for the food. Meanwhile waiting for refills to no avail, wife got up and went to the bar to get refills, hostess took over and delivered them. Food arrived shortly later, minus my wife's order (the server obviously forgot, later the owner said it was on the house when it did arrive - a nice gesture), I had a greek chopped salad and a bowl of chili, both very good. Chili was meaty with no beans, salad was fresh with a nice lemon infused dressing. Our mac and cheese expert also agreed her dish was a winner. Wife had a chicken parm hero which was a very nice portion (half which she took home and I later ate) again very good, served with fries which were essentially quarter cuts of a baked potato. Don't quite remember what my son and other daughter ordered but they said also very good. Bottom line the food here is very good, the service for some reason (possibly the unique layout of the restaurant, if you at are at a far end, the server loses sight of you). I also think on a Sunday afternoon during football season they would have a larger staff. Overall Spirits serves above average bar food, but with poor service. Suggest you sit towards the center of the restaurant. BTW: my wife said the women's bathroom wasn't the cleanest.

One word... BURGERS!!!!!!! One bite.... JUICY GOODNESS running down your face and arms!!! (for you folks that think that its to messy, that's one way to tell the burger is good) and of course BEER! You can also order your burger from Rare to Ruined. Would give 5 stars but it was just after lunch so no telling what the service might be like through out the restaurant. The bartender was great and very helpful though.

Great service on a Sunday afternoon. I had their veggie/pita point/hummus appetizer. The veggies were fresh, the hummus was pretty good and they loaded up the plate with pita points. We had plenty to take home. I then ordered their ahi tuna appetizer as my entree. It was, as expected, small and delicious. I really like that they didn't make the common bar food mistake with the tuna and add too much of the wasabi mayo. Overall good experience. Will definitely go back.

I really like the four cheese mac and cheese. But the past couple times I've been, the service has been neglectful. And for me, since service is a major part of the value of eating out, Spirits is sadly no longer worth it.

Came here the first time probably a year ago. I remember it was the day Spirits was reviewed in the N&O, so they were incredibly busy. The night was pretty much a disaster and the food was below average. Gave them a second chance this week and it was better, but still just OK... My food was relatively tasty, but it could have been fresher and wasn't worth the price. Same with my friend's meal. The service was great though!

What a surprising experience. My girlfriend and I sat outside and had this delicious lunch. I had a burger topped with braised short rib and she had the best steak and cheese she had ever had. 21 beers on tap and fantastic drinks. She had a martini with Pama and it was delicious. This place is definately one of Cary's secrets. They are open til 2 and they serve food til then as well. Awesome hang out or dinner option.

This place looks like every other sports bar where you've had a ho-hum experience, and I admit that when my husband and I moved into the neighborhood we turned our noses up at it. (Only because we're not sports bar types.) Boy, were we wrong. We're not much for pub grub, but decided to try this place because it was nearby. We have been back many times, and it is our "go to" neighborhood spot. Whoever is in the kitchen knows what they are doing! The execution on everything I have ever tried here is outstanding. The chef is really creative, and I know that they shop the local farmers markets for the freshest ingredients. (Smart marketing ploy to send your chef to the farmer's market wearing his work shirt!) We've tried a lot of different things here, but a couple of items on the menu really stand out in my mind. The wings are *wonderful*--perfectly executed and they offer some creative wing specials to break up the usual bar offerings. The thai chili wings are definitely some of the tastiest I've ever had anywhere. The fish and chips are delicate and perfectly cooked--fried food done right is so hard to come by. The burgers are great too. They have a delicious turkey burger that has a nice rosemary flavor. They have a mac 'n' cheese menu that is awesome. I highly recommend this place as a stand-out among pub grub joints in the area. They approach it with value placed on fresh, creative food delivered with attentive service.

My wife and I have been pleased with each and every one of our visits to Spirits Pub and Grub. The service is consistent, attentive, and thoughtful. The menu solicits both recipes that are familar favorites with fresh innovative culinary twists and original creations that delightfully ruffle even an experienced foody's tastebuds. Food is always prepared expeditiously and the restaurant's use of quality ingredients really showcases the chef's refreshing interpretation of an American pub's offerings. Additionally, Spirits Pub and Grub delivers an excellent value, and their gourmet martini list provides high caliber libations for about 1/2 the price you'd typically pay for drinks of their quality.
