Finally got to go here and eat inside the restaurant. The company I worked for orders catering from this chain regularly. I ordered a half chicken with black beans and a side of green beans. Beware! The green cilantro sauce is surprisingly spicy and induced hiccups the first time I tried it because I was not prepared. If you're the type who always complains that restaurants don't make things spicy enough, you will probably like this sauce. The yellow sauce is also good and tastes like a honey mustard variant. Chicken - Cooked perfectly. Tender, moist, and with no dry spots. Black beans - Nothing special to call out here, but no complaints either Green beans - My pick because I'm trying to eat healthier. Cooked in oil and lightly salted. No complaints here either. I've had their rice, fries, and fried plantains when it was catered at work. All great choices and you wouldn't go wrong ordering any of them. On the plus side, this place is a great place for anyone trying to eat paleo or low-carb with the right choices. You really can't go wrong. Go here if you're craving some delicious charcoal grilled chicken.

Came here with a group of friends for lunch. This place does get crowded, so make sure u come in before 12. The place is now rebranded to Alpaca. Vegetarians just have a dish and yucca/Maduros for sides. For chicken eaters, Alpaca is just awesome. I had the Peruvian Chicken fried rice with Maduros(sweet plantains) and yucca fries. The meat was minced but still felt succulent on every bite. Maduros was good but a bit too oily. Yucca fries was a disappointment. Do try their green spicy sauce. It is really spicy and it is made fresh. Bottom line: Tasty chicken at reasonable price.

The name may have changed but the food hasn't and that's a great thing because the food is wonderful. As far as chicken dishes go, this might be my favorite chain restaurant chicken dish in the Triangle. The chicken is always cooked to perfection and the combination of the chicken with the green sauce is delicious. I've tried a majority of the different sides and while they're all pretty good, my favorites are easily the chicken soup and the black beans. There have been plenty of times where I bought the 1/2 chicken and ate that for dinner while saving the soup and beans for lunch the next day. They reheat well and still taste good. I am not a fan of the name change. I think they changed it for branding purposes but Mami Nora's had plenty enough name recognition. Regardless, Mami Nora's/Alpaca gets two thumbs up from me and I'll keep on coming back even if they change their name a 3rd, 4th, and 5th time as long as the food doesn't change.

Charcoal cooked chicken? Excellent. Yuca? Excellent. Green beans? Excellent. Yellow sauce? Excellent. Caramel flan? Excellent. Mandarin Jarrito? Absolutely. I truly wish there was one of these in Atlanta. I'd eat here once a week, if not more.
(5)Eric S.
I went here a while back before the name change, so this review may not be applicable. The chicken was really good and the maduros were the best I've had. Not to mention they had a selection of crazy South American soft drinks that I'd never heard of. I'd go again.

A whiff of the Peruvian chicken aroma and I was ready for my meal more than ever. A juicy piece of chicken with 2 sides for under 10 bucks! You can choose dark meat or white meat, your choice! The chicken was perfectly cooked- not one bite of it was dry. It's a pretty busy place so their chicken comes out very fresh! We had to wait 5-10 minutes but it was totally worth it because we got a piping hot batch! Their sides are pretty good too but maybe not something to rave about. You get an unlimited amount of their sauces which is always a bonus. Seating area is very casual. Very family/group friendly!
(4)Jade T.
I was skeptical about Mami Nora's being good because of their "chain restaurant/fast food" atmosphere. It definitely exceeded my expectations! I'm not typically a big fan of yuca fries or rotisserie chicken. My aunt recommended I try them. The yuca fries were the BEST I've ever had (I've had many in life) and the rotisserie chicken was seasoned/cooked perfectly. I'll definitely be back when I'm visiting from jersey!

I've been going through withdrawals from missing our beloved La Granja (South Florida Peruvian franchise). I'm so glad we found this place on Yelp. The place is large and service was fast and courteous. You order cafeteria style which I love since it makes it easy to see what you're ordering and keeps the line moving. The menu is very easy to navigate and the prices are really affordable. I had a "quarter white" chicken with black beans and side salad. I chose a cilantro dressing for the salad that was amazing. They give a generous amount of food. The black beans were so good we ate it like soup. The chicken...oh the chicken. Juicy, flavorful, finger licking good. We loved the dipping sauces. Just put that sh*t on everything! I hope they open more locations since this place isn't close to where we live. We will definitely be back and often.
(5)Jackclyn N.
We love this place! The food is simple and satisfying. My go-to is a quarter dark chicken with a fries and another side that I change up for either garden salad, green beans, or another veggie. The portion is just right for a dinner meal - not too huge, and not too skimpy. The green hot sauce is to die for! I love the family-run feel of this place, and the affordable prices and convenient location by the shopping centers make it an excellent option when you're in the area or if you're just feeling hungry for some hearty Peruvian rotisserie.
(5)Stephanie A.
The reviewers are right....this place is AWESOME!! Flavorful, moist chicken with delicious yellow and green sauce. Enough said. Black beans tasty and plantains tastier! We will be regulars here!
(5)Joseph W.
The food at Alpaca is exceptional. The chicken has a fantastic flavor, is always extremely moist, yet tender, and the quality is consistent. Furthermore, the "maduros" (sweet plantains" are a personal favorite. I actually had to confirm that they were not a dessert after my first try because they're so sweet. Alpaca does offer a Green and yellow sauce which pairs nicely with their chicken, yucca fries and other side dishes. The atmosphere is very modern and trendy and the staff is always extremely kind, professional and offers quick service. I have introduced Alpaca to a number of friends and family and have yet to find a person who did not enjoy this food! It's a definitely recommendation!

Every day I thank Mami Nora's for opening a restaurant in Cary. Some days I wonder how I even survived without their delicious Peruvian chicken. Bear Rock Cafe, the restaurant that Mami Nora's replaced, sacrificed itself for the greater good and for that I will always be grateful. Atmosphere: The "mountain lodge" look of Bear Rock Cafe has either been painted over or awkwardly incorporated by Mami Nora's. The space also has a bit of an echo, so it can get loud if there's a large group nearby. Service: The staff is super friendly. If you get chicken, it'll be served right before your eyes, so there's basically zero wait time. The faster that chicken can get to my plate, the better! Food: When I first tried Mami Nora's, I wasn't sure what the hype was all about. Since then, I've come to my senses. Mami Nora's has the best (and fastest) Peruvian chicken in the area. They also have yellow and green sauce dispensers now, so you can get as much sauce as you want! Here's what I've tried: Chicken - Flavorful and cooked just right. I don't know what magical spices they use, but they make the chicken practically addicting. If you get the whole chicken, they can cut it up into 4 or 8 pieces for you. White rice and black beans - Two separate side items that become even better when combined! It just isn't the same without both. Hand cut fries - Great when they're hot, but they get soggy if you get them to-go. No one wants soggy fries. Coleslaw - Pretty basic, but you can't go wrong with chicken and coleslaw in the South. Yucca fries - Thickly cut and goes well with the chicken. Maduros (fried plantain) - The Holy Grail of side items! I would eat these all day if it was socially acceptable. Yellow sauce - This magical sauce makes everything 10 times better. Seriously, how do they make this so good? Green sauce - A bit spicy, but not as addicting as the yellow sauce. Hint: try mixing the yellow and green together :) Long story short: Pros - Best Peruvian chicken in the area, food is super quick Cons - Sometimes loud Overall - If you want quick, delicious food that isn't fast food, Mami Nora's is a great place to go. My favorite thing to get is the whole chicken for $15, so I can have leftovers or "share" with friends :) For the sides, rice, black beans, and plantains are the way to go. Add some of the yellow and/or green sauce and your taste buds will thank you.

My wife has been telling me about this place for awhile and I finally met her for lunch here on the way home from the airport. DELICIOUS! You get huge portions so come hungry! Staff is really friendly and helpful. Simple menu make it easy to find a favorite. I had the Lomo Saltado and it was very good. It'll probably be my go-to dish anytime I visit. I tried some of my wife's Pollo Saltado which was also very good. I'm a steak man though. Again, you get A LOT of food. I couldn't finish all of mine but definitely took it home and enjoyed the next day. I've been to other similar restaurants claiming the same cuisine but this was the best I've had. Definitely recommend and will be going to again.
(4)Yelp H.
So just stop what you're doing and go there. I don't know what else to say. Trust me. It's delicious. I had dark chicken, fried yucca and green beans. I thought the chicken would just resemble rotiss, but it totally had it's own thing going on. Tried both sauces and they were both awesome. Can't wait to go back. Do it...go!
(5)Francis L.
Great food. The chicken had a nice charcoal flavor. I you like spicy then go for the green sauce. Not too hot but with a nice little kick. I'll be eating here again when I'm in Cary.
(5)Jaleh J.
Fresh, delicious, big portions and they have sweet plantains (maduros) - YUM!
(5)Rhoda G.
This place is awesome and provides great value especially for dinner. I got a quarter leg chicken with two sides - coleslaw and yucca fries. The yucca fries is an upgrade, so you have to pay a little extra. Everything I had was great. The chicken was rotisserie style and had lots of flavor including the dipping sauces you can get. One of them was a tad too spicy for me, but the other dipping sauce they offered was perfect. For dessert, I got caramel flan and it was really good. They also offered a caramel cookie, which is something I want to try next time I go. Overall for two people, we spent $20 for a tasty, fulfilling dinner. It's nice to see they have restaurants in Durham and Raleigh also. I can grab some chicken on my way home from work. We will be back!
(5)Jon O.
Just kind of stopped in here for dinner since we were in the area. I was pleasantly surprised across the board as far as their food goes. It was very reasonably priced and 2 people got a great meal for around $20. I had the half a chicken along with black beans and white rice. Fairly plain sides I know but they also have some other great options as well. The chicken was rotisserie style and seasoned to perfection. They also have some dipping sauces you can get and for the life of me I can't remember what they are called but the spicier of the two complimented the chicken just right. The inside of the restaurant wasn't the cleanest place I've been in and the fountain drink area could use some attention but the food more than made up for any cleanliness issues.
(5)Bruce G.
I had already been familiar with Mami Nora's from their Durham and Raleigh locations, so I eagerly anticipated their Cary location also. I stopped in for lunch recently. They really weren't that crowded, which is kind of a surprise. They are in a really good location in Cary off of Cary Parkway. I got more or less my usual with 1/4 dark, plus Yucca fries and Plantains. I think I need to graduate up to the 1/2 as 1/4 isn't enough for me, but the prices make me hesitant. They are more expensive than say KFC or Boston Market for rotisserie chicken, but I think they are better than those other places too. Plus they also a delicious green and yellow sauce for dipping the chicken in. The sides are great, but kind of a limited choice. I'll continue to patronize Mami Nora's for their delicious rotisserie chicken!
(4)S. May D.
Delicious! The chicken is wonderful and add to that the yellow and green sauces for dipping the chicken, oh so yummy. I had the yucca fries and a salad with the cilantro dressing. Oh my goodness that cilantro dressing was good! Dessert was a Caramel Cookie. That cookie was one of the best cookies I've ever had the pleasure of eating. The staff we met were friendly. The manager, Manny, was kind and helpful and took the time to explain to my husband how they prepare the chicken. I can't wait to go back.
(5)Lizette W.
Our family eats here about once per week. So I suggested we use Alpaca for a swim team dinner and everyone loved it! What is even better is that all the kids loved it too.The rice, bean and chicken were great as always.
(5)Loreley B.
Wow...so happy I used Yelp to find this gem. Food was absolutely fantastic...the yellow and green sauces were fabulous...Could I buy a gallon please! Dangerous!!! Must try!
(5)Romin B.
I've somewhat recently been introduced to the amazing marvel that is peruvian chicken and Mami Nora's does it quite beautifully. I always opt for the half chicken, which comes with 2 sides at an incredibly reasonable $8.99. The skin on the chicken provides such a delicious layer of flavor and then you magnify that by dipping the chicken in either their creamy tangy yellow sauce or spicy green sauce. It's hard to find such an amazing little bite at that kind of price. For my sides I always include the Yuca fries (50 cents extra but worth it), which are like regular fries injected with steroids to become super starchy. I find it a wonderful platform to soak up more yellow sauce. They also do a solid take on maduros (sweet plaintains, also an extra 50 cents), or you can go with rice, beans, corn, or more. Mimi always gets a side salad and really loves the house cilantro dressing you can get with it. She's also tried the Incan cola, which seems popular, although I find the flavor kind of odd (like liquid cotton candy or bubble gum). My only gripe for Mami Nora's is that they haven't opened a Chapel Hill-Carrboro location yet. Get to it!
(5)Trae P.
There food is so delicious we tried them for the first night the other day and we have been coming back for more it's so delicious. Also the food is fresh from puero it is too good everyone you should try it and great service also if your looking for a good place for food this memorial weekend go here the service is friendly and the manager is super cool his name is manny
(5)Dave M.
Really good food. Chicken was awesome. Green sauce was perfectly spicy. Will definitely be back!
(5)Michelle S.
The chicken is fantastic, the cilantro dressing for the salad phenomenal, I recommend the fried plantains .. And the yellow sauce!! Yum!
(5)Jeff S.
Got takeout here - actually dropped my wife off to run in and get food while I took the kids through the Wendy's drive-thru (don't cry, I know they're crazy.) I mentioned to her - try to get something spicy if they have it, and I like plantains and rice. She got both of us the half-chicken, white meat plates. I got rice and plantains, she got black beans and coleslaw. We murdered our chickens in a few minutes. I was hiccuping at the end because I OD'd on the spicy cilantro sauce - it packs real heat! We shared each other's sides. The plantains made a great dessert. We can't wait to go back. Silly kids don't know what they're missing.
(4)Mike T.
Simple. Affordable. Delicious. Not much else to say. I'm here at least once a week for lunch.
(5)S R.
This is my second visit to a Peruvian place and I loved the food. The guy in the counter was friendly and explained all the dishes. He even let us sample a couple. Ordered chicken quarter, yucca fries and fried rice. The chicken was spiced thoroughly and well barbecued. Tasted well with the green sauce. The fried rice was good too. The yucca fry side is a must try. You will love this. Though the food was really good I wonder if the barbecue and the fried rice topped with green onions, resembling Chinese flavors are really authentic Peruvian! The doubt remains until Google clarifies. Regardless I will be back for the food.
(5)Marc E.
Generally, the food here was great but the service provided by one of the ladies behind the counter left my family cold. Beans and other items had been served cold. When asked to heat the food our party was told no and there was no offer to replace or heat a fresh portion of food. Only after further requests made to other staff were we able to get well-heated beans. I've had better experiences at the Wake Forest Rd. location and the food seems to move better there too. Five stars for the food, three for the service.
(3)Katharine B.
Delicious chicken and homecooked sides. The menu is not that extensive so it is easy to pick an option. The World Cup was on the television and bachata music played in the background. The atmosphere was authentic. I can't wait to try the Raleigh location. "Who's your Mami? " :-)
(4)Jeremy A.
Im rating this based on my trip to their north raleigh location during lunch time. The chicken here is real good if you go at the right time, we went later in the evening and it had been sitting under the lights for a bit which dried it out. If youre going for the chicken id recommend going at peak times when its being cranked out and doesn't have a chance to sit, because then its delicious. Otherwise the Arroz Chaufo was good and at off peak times it say definitely get the prepared dishes. Service was good and the place was clean.
(3)K P.
Yum!!! Great spices and flavor in EVERYTHING. Tostones or maduros, their plantains are awesome. The green beans are amazing and don't get me started on the yucca fries!!!!!! I typically don't eat meat, but I tried the chicken- very good and the sauces you can dip in are tasty (mild yellow and spicy green). So much food for a very fair price. Extra casual dining, serve yourself the drink/clean up after yourself.
(5)Lauren G.
My husband and I went there after reading the reviews on yelp. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the right texture. There wasn't a long wait and the staff were friendly. We will be eating there again!
(5)Jessica C.
This place is phenomenal. Their slaw is delicious, as are all of their sides. The chicken is always cooked and seasoned perfectly. Prices are reasonable as well. One of my favorites!
(5)Jason L.
I've been to Mami Noras several times now. The food never disappoints. Usually rotisserie chicken joints are either too pricey or come off as completely boring with bland food. Mami Noras is neither. I got the pollo saltado (sautéed mixture of chicken breast, tomato, onion and FRENCH FRIES). The portion was flavorful and more than generous. It also came with a side of rice. To top everything off, the sauce here is AWESOME. The yellow mustard sauce and the hot green cilantro sauce kick everything up to more than just good...... downright addictive.
(5)Dale B.
Well seasoned food.. Would have been 5 stars if their menu was a bit more extensive. However, sticking to a smaller well executed offering is better than a large poorly executed menu
(4)Kristine P.
The chicken is moist and tasty. I got the black beans and white rice with it. It's hard to find healthy places to eat, but this really fits the bill. Good and good for you.
(5)Sarah E.
This place is sooooo good! I was a little hesitant when I found out that a Mami Nora's was opening up in Cary since that one on Wake Forest Road was such a staple for my friends and I in college, but this definitely measures up! I always get the chicken with beans over rice and plantains as my side and it is the best combination. It is a crime when you go to Mami Nora's and get anything but the chicken. It's tender and juicy and everything you want in chicken. I have had the yucca fries and they are also great. The best part is the unlimited sauces. If you like spicier things, the green sauce is where it's at. Unfortunately for me, I can only handle a few drops of this before completing taking out the taste from my mouth. I am all about the yellow sauce, which is basically what I call Peruvian ranch haha! They also offer all types of Latin American drinks from glass bottled sodas to traditional Peruvian drinks like Chicha Morada (I call it purple corn drink...soooo good). I feel like Mami Nora's is also a better alternative to fast food, where you can get a pretty nutritious meal without all the "mystery meat" of other places with fast food. Hands down, a great place. I always see the owner there, so it seems like he really cares about his customers and how his place is run. Good job, Cary, for bringing this place into my backyard!
(5)Alisha W.
I love love love love this place!!!!! My boyfriend and I are addicted to Peruvian rotisserie chicken. The chicken is succulent. Falls off the bone and the sweet plantains are just yummy. The hot green sauce is amazing and the sweet yellow sauce I could drink it. My new favorite restaurant. So happy we went there to try it. Also very reasonably priced.
(5)Cake N.
If you have been to Raleigh Mami Nora then this Cary location will be a big disappointment ... At raleigh the green sauce is available free ..here they charge 75 cents if you ask extra .. One girl on the register calculated our bill wrong twice and she did not even bother to apologize The vegetarian platter is super pricey for what you get in it.. few staff members are very courteous so I like that at-least... Raleigh location serves tamarindo drink this location does not.. I will be back once in a while since this place is close to my home and chicken tastes same as Raleigh location
(3)William D.
I have a mormon friend who did his mission in Peru. He's always cooking Peruvian food and trying to discover any new Peruvian restaurants in the triangle. At some point, I owed him a meal and I had just recently heard of this place, so I asked if he wanted to give it a shot. He said "Yeah, alright." Oh. My. God. We both got the Arroz Chaufa, a fantastically sized and flavorful dish consisting of rice, several types of meat, a few veggies, and a small side salad. I can't do it justice, but it's fantastic, especially for the price. I liked it so much... I took my girlfriend on a date there the very next day. I had to have some more. I got the chicken that night, and it was amazing. The meat was so juicy and tender it practically fell off the bone. The skin was seasoned to perfection and excellently crispy to contrast with and complement the texture of the meat. And the sauces... The food here tastes delicious. It's affordably priced, and the servings are generous enough to sate even my college male appetite. I've been here only a handful of times and I'm already a loyal customer. Going to Mami Nora's is a special treat.
(5)Cindy G.
A friend who works close to this restaurant recommended we eat here. A packed parking lot and good smells coming from the restaurnat was a good sign. Casual atmosphere and you order as you enter the restaurant. Prices are good and you get a good portion of food. Smokey flavored chicken was really good. Black beans were tasty (they put them in a bowl to avoid spilling into the other food). The fried sweet plantains were hot and fresh. Filling meal. 2 can eat there for under $20.
(4)Lea A.
Finally, I've tried this place. I ordered the quarter white, black beans, rice, and the house salad for take out. The chicken was delicious, perfect seasoning with a char broil taste. I normally would not eat so many black beans, but I was intrigued by other yelper's reviews about how good they were. I ate the entire portion. Make sure you get the cilantro dressing for the house salad. They give you a two sauces, jalepeno, it's green and I think it contains either sour cream or creme fraiche (I really don't know). The other sauce is yellow, but it contains mayo, which is a no no for me..so I got two green sauces. I am so tempted to go back soon, but I don't want to get tired of it. I have to stretch out the visits.
(4)Christopher G.
The chicken was juicy and seasoned perfectly!!! For sides a got white rice and the premium fries, I forget exactly what they are called. The meal came with two sauces, the green guacamole one was a bit spicy but I like that. It was fantastic I will return!!
(4)A C.
Nicely smoked chicken and definitely get the yucca fries and sweet plantains. I'm not really a fan of the best sides being premium and more expensive but it was all delicious. The signature green sauce wasn't as smooth as I've had other places but I would definitely come here again. In fact if I lived here Id probably come enough that it'd make the chick-fil-a cows happy.
(4)Jeffrey K.
Got the a whole chicken and split it with a friend, which came out to be about $8.50 per person. You can pick dark or white meat and pick two sides, which were all good. The chicken is very flavory and moist. Not those typical dry chicken meat. Its hard to cook chicken with moist and just the right amount of flavor like this place. If you're ever want some good grilled chicken, I would recommend this place.
(4)Tamara M.
We really enjoyed our meal at Mami Nora's. It's a solid Peruvian chicken joint, and accessible to the masses who may not be used to eating Peruvian food. The menu has all the basics, focusing on roasted chicken with sides. The beans were good, maduros sweet and delicious. The fried yuca hit the spot. The chicken itself had a nice, flavorful skin and moist meat. The portion of horchata was plenty big, but they allow one refill on that. Nice touch.
(3)Art E.
Today was my first visit to any Mami Nora's restaurant. I ordered a half chicken, a side of black beans, a side of creamed corn, and four corn tortillas. Although I wasn't "wowed" by any one thing, I can see why so many people praise the food. This is simple, fresh food. The black beans were a bit salty, but very tasty. The corn actually tasted like it was just pulled from the cob. I had to do a sanity check to see if I was eating corn on the cob, or creamed corn; it was that fresh. The chicken lives up the hype, and the green sauce that comes with it is awesome. It tastes like a weak guacamole, but adds a spicy kick. NOTE: As of today's date, the address listed on Yelp for this Cary location is 9475 Chapel Hill Rd. That's the wrong address, it'll take you to a Hindu temple. The correct address is 9575 Chapel Hill Rd, Cary. It's in the same shopping center as a Food Lion.
(5)Tommy A.
I love the Mami Nora's that is located on Wake Forest Rd, so when I heard one was coming to the Cary area I was really happy. Overall the store for the most part is the exact same. It might be a little smaller but the food and prices are pretty much the exact same. I absolutely love the chicken salad as their dressing is simply amazing and the chicken of course is great tasting. There are still a few little kinks they have to work out, but given time I think this one will be just as good as the other two locations.
(4)M F.
So customer service was expected to be better then a fast food restaurant. The prices for "authentic Peruvian food" was outrageous. An order of rice, beans and plantains was $10 and potion size did not even come close to making up for the price or the fact that they were out of chicken. WILL NOT RETURN
(1)Dookie B.
Fantastic. Drove past and did not know what to expect. Chicken was fantastic and the yucca fries were done just right. You need to try both of the house made sauces, they are delicious. This is one of our top 3 restaurants. Do yourself a favor and try this place out.
(5)Aline S.
I can't even began to describe how annoyed I am with this location. We placed an order online which was a whole Chicken cut into 8 parts with 2 sides we got the rice and beans as a side plus a side of Maduros. PS.they charge you a fee for ordering online $1 it's not a lot, I know! But that's not the point. I get home a see that they forgot my side of rice, I proceed to call them thinking they might have gotten my order mixed up with some one else's and just wanted to let them know. I spoke to the manger and he told me to wait he went to ask his employees as if I was a liar like seriously dude? It's just rice it's not a big deal. The only reason I'm even making a big deal is because they were talking so much crap in Spanish not knowing that I could hear them and that I spoke Spanish too. Like if you're going to talk crap about your costumers and call them liars you should at least make sure the phone is on mute. He then came back to the phone and said " they said they did put the rice in but you're saying they didn't... So what do you want to do?" I told him I'd go get it and he said "okay I'll have it ready for you"! As if I was going to actually go back for RICE are you kidding me? I was only calling them in the first place to let them know their mistake incase they mixed up my order with some one else's.
(1)Michael C.
Love the chicken, and the yucca. Whatever that yellow sauce they have to dip the yucca in is banging.
(4)Nathan C.
I have not been to any of the other locations but I find myself here at least once a week. Their chicken is tops and never seems to have been sitting around. I recently ventured out and tried all of their food options and was pleasantly surprised. Price and value are great especially when you realize the quality of chicken they serve. I recommend this place to anyone in the area.
(5)Alex D.
My wife and I finally tried this place out after living right around the corner from it for several months. Now I'm really upset that i've been missing out on it for so long. For the money, you can't ask for much more - both in quality and quantity. For $7 (dark meat) or $7.50 (white meat), you get a quarter of a chicken and two HUGE sides. The meal completely fills up a big styrofoam container if you're getting it to go. One time we ordered a half-chicken and just split the sides (about $9), and we both got more than enough to eat. The chicken is cooked perfectly and is very juicy and flavorful, and the sides are always hot and fresh - my favorites are the french fries and the rice, and my wife usually gets black beans. We always split an a la carte side of maduros for dessert - they're awesome. In short, if you're looking for a quick, affordable bite to eat in Cary, you won't do much better than this.

Have eaten there a few times now. Consistently good food and friendly service. Food is well prepared and is a good value for the money.

Fast, reasonably priced, and tasty! The rotisserie chicken is amazingly tender, but definitely get the specials whenever you can - they never disappoint. The black beans are so tasty for simply being black beans. And the cilantro salad dressing...well let's just say that I could put that on just about anything and it would be delicious. Definitely worth the time to stop by and try it out if haven't already.

I absolutely LOVE Mami Nora's and I was happiest person in the world when one opened up in Morrisville about 5 minutes away from me. I was previously driving all the way out to the middle of Durham to get my Mami Nora's fix. This is definitely the BEST rotisserie chicken in the Triangle. You can order as much as you want, from 1/4 chicken to a whole chicken and each order comes with two sides (choose from corn, rice, beans, plantains, yuca fries, regular fries, cole slaw and soup). They also have an interesting range of hispanic drinks and deserts, such inca cola and flan. Everyone here is super friendly and service has been pretty fast every time I've come in. The only reason why I have to ding them a star is because I got two slices of Tres Leches that had gone bad (as in sour milk and moldy). The manager was very quick to rectify the mistake, but honestly I would just recommend staying away from the deserts maybe. But don't let this deter you - the chicken here is to die for, especially the yellow (and green) sauces it comes with.

Went for the first time today. Place was clean, service was quick (even though it was fairly busy), and staff were friendly. I got the 1/4 white meat with "white rice topped with beans" and corn. It also came with two sauces, a green and a yellow. The chicken was great, not dry which is hard to find when it comes to white meat. It had great flavor. I would almost say kinda smokey charcoal aroma/flavor mixed with a rotisserie-like texture/feel/taste. The chicken is the bomb! The sides were pretty standard, nothing to call home about, basic yellow corn (off the cob) and basic white rice and beans, but I had no problem killing my entire plate. I did not care for the sauces - the green was extremely spicy (I normally don't mind spicy but was beyond my preference). The yellow sauce I'd compare to a "yum yum" or white sauce you'd get a Japanese/hibachi places, which I'm not a huge fan of but I know alot of people like that kind of thing. I definitely recommend this place and for 8 bucks I'll for-sure be a returning customer!

Delicious! I recommend Mami Nora's for anyone looking for excellent chicken with delicious non-traditional sides. We will be back. Don't forget to try the fried plantains - delicious!

Love the convenience and great tasting food!

So happy I finally decided to try this place! The set-up of the restaurant is a bit like going to a Chipotle, where you go order your food, and then sit down with it. They offer rotisserie chicken in quarter, half, and full sizes. It's always juicy & well-seasoned. They also offer special dishes such as tacos on occasion. With your chicken order, you also get two sides. The corn is great. I would definitely recommend someone to try the maduros, which are sweet plantains. Very delicious (though some of my plantains were a little cold, but I had come at the end of the day). For drinks, they sell fountain drinks, but they also offer beers, Inca Kola, Jarritos, and a couple of drinks made in-house: horchata and chicha morada. Horchata is a rice drink served cold with a hint of cinnamon flavor. It is absolutely delicious and pairs well with spicy foods. I love the chicha morada though. This is made from purple corn, with flavors of pineapple, cinnamon, and clove. I would sample it before making a purchase. It's somewhat similar in flavor to Jamaica, the hibiscus drink. The staff I met was very friendly!

I've been a fan of Mami Nora's since their humble Durham shack opened up. Here's how to rock Mami Nora's: - Order the whole chicken, even if it's just you. Those leftovers make a mean chicken salad for lunch the next day. It's also the most cost effective deal. For my family (2 adults and a ravenous toddler) the whole chicken meal is enough food for all three of us. Not many places in town you can get away with a quality dinner for about $6/person after tax. - Don't skip the delicious beans. - Maduros make for a tasty dessert if you're pretending to be healthy. - Alfadores are the go to dessert if you're not pretending. Main reason I'm taking off a star is that for some inexplicable reason the Cary location has left off the tostones from the menu. What's up with that?!

Delicious food, healthier than many places, and wonderful staff. We eat at the Cary location frequently, so much so that my 3 year old requested it for her birthday party. We ordered catering for 20 people and the manager was very helpful and accommodating. While ordering over the phone a mistake was made, but as soon as it was discovered the manager worked it out before I even knew it had happened. They were very helpful getting the car loaded with all the food, made sure we had plenty of utensils, and assured us we could call if we ran into any problems.

I have been a fan of Mami Nora's for years and have eaten at every one of their locations. The recently opened this 3rd location in Cary and the food quality and service is exactly the same. The chicken is tasty, moist, and perfectly cooked. The sides are all delicious and the green sauce is yummo! Also try the arroz chaufa. It is their version of fried rice and you won't be disappointed. The service is always great and the place is clean. This has to be one of my favorite places to eat in the Triangle area. Go visit any of the locations!

Great food and atmosphere. I love it when you can find some tasty but yet healthy food. Taste and health don't always seem to run in the same crowd but Mami Nora's straddles that line perfectly.

Mami Nora's was one of my first-ever Yelp bookmarks -- about 4 years ago. But I only recently went out in pursuit of Peruvian chicken... ironically, at the Morrisville location rather than the Durham flagship which is close to home. I was meeting some friends for dinner (oh okay, I was also taking advantage of this location's neighboring distance to Goodybox Cupcakes!). The menu is not complicated. You can get chicken or chicken (dark or white meat, in a few different quantity options) and a few different sides (I got rice and maduros), plus two sauces. It's kind of hard to get excited about chicken (unless it's fried); but I did get excited about my Peruvian chicken. It has way more flavor than I'd bargained for. And the plate was plenty filling, and comes at a nice price. The guys behind the counter were also really nice, and even helped my friend out with her agonizing maduros vs plantains decision by serving her a half-and-half portion. I'm a fan!

This is a nice change of pace. It's not too unhealthy but still quick and affordable. The maduros and fried yucca are very well made. The staff is also friendly even though we came in right before closing. Definitely will return.
(4)Chris L.
Although Mami Nora's does not offer a lot of options, what they do offer is delicious.
(4)Bernie C.
This place is frustratingly good. Good because it is delicious, and frustrating because I can't duplicate their secret recipe at home. The menu is simple - quarter chicken, half chicken or whole chicken + sides. (They also have 4 entrée plates, but go with the chicken). The ingredients are fresh. The prices are low. The staff are always friendly. Nothing to fear - give it a try! They were also featured on North Carolina Weekend and you can find the video online if you Google it.

We have gotten take-out from here about 5 times, it's always delish! We haven't tried any of the "plates" only the chicken and sides. I used to live in S. Fla and really missed the Chicken TropiChop with black beans and corn from Pollo Tropical, have never found anywhere close to the flavors until Mami Nora's! The staff has always been friendly and they move the line along quickly. We get dinner for 2 under $20 and I have enough left over for lunch the next day, a total WIN in my book.

I've been here 5 times. I just love their Peruvian chicken, rice and beans. Great flavor with the perfect spices. You can not beat it, I promise. Plus reasonable costs. Nice clean location and friendly staff.

Amazing authentic Puerto Rican food. Very affordable. Freshest chicken I've ever had and the sides are absolutely delicious. Highly recommend mami noras!!
(5)Julie G.
We are sitting in the restaurant right now and all my husband and I can say is wow. We order two different things and everything is delicious. The chicken is so flavorful. I love yucca fries and these hit the spot. We also had the fried rice and that was also great. They have tostones my Latino friends. I would highly recommend this place and we will bring my in laws back that are from Puerto Rico. Thank you Manny for the amazing food and great conversation. Al and Julie

After having friends tell me about how good the chicken was at the Wake Forest Road location I couldn't wait to come to the newly opened location in Cary. It is located in the previous Bear Rock Cafe. When you enter the restaurant there are large signs over the counter with the menu. You can order the peruvian rotisserie chicken or other dishes. When you order the chicken you get two sides. I ordered the half chicken with black beans and yucca fries. The marinade is very unique and incredibly flavorful and the chicken itself is very moist and has a grilled/charcoal like flavor. It is very, very good. The prices are cheap and the food is excellent. They definitely will be getting my return business.

Went for lunch today best chicken rice slaw price is great too. Got there not too crowed

Chicken, fried tapioca and plantains are simply awesome
(5)Steve R.
Quick service, polite staff and food was mostly fresh, best one can get for the price and "quick serve" quality. The black beans were a bit dried out, probably from sitting in the hot plate for awhile. The "Saltado" (salty) beef was juicy and tender beef but the salty chicken dish was dry. Not sure if over cooked or just sitting around to long in the back. The fried yuca sticks were dried. Earlier reviewers suggested arriving during prime time so the food can turn over. My group arrived at 6pm when their was only one couple there. After we ordered, a line of 10+ people were behind us and I noticed that they started bringing out freshly cooked food from the back. Overall worth giving another shot during peak hours.

This place is amazing. The chicken is the best roast chick I've ever had, the corn is often from the farmer's market and it *amazing* but the true winner is the 2 sauces. Yellow and green. The yellow is sweeter, it reminds me a bit of (better) honey mustard. The green is spicy with a hint of lemon. Green is my favorite. :)
(5)Matt R.
Ever crave some good chicken? Yes? Well, this is the place to go to. I don't know how they do it, it is just the best food in the world.
(5)Jeff L.
Rotisserie Chicken is very tasty, full of juices and flavor. I ordered the Whole Chicken and it was plenty to feed the whole family with delicious sides as well for a reasonable price. The plantains were also very good, I recommend it for sure for and will be visiting again.
(5)William O.
Order Whole chicken. Sides were Yucca Fries and Fried sweet Plantains. also ordered a side of yellow corn. Chicken had good crispy skin. Recommend the plantains, but the yucca fries got boring very quickly. All for around $21 I think. Fed three adults, one 6 year old. Want to give it 3 1/2 stars.

Stopped in for a quick takeout and I was impressed at how quick I was served.. Excellent! Chicken was moist and very flavorful...plantains were exceptional also.

After 3 years of hearing about Mami Nora's famous chicken, I was happy to know that one was coming to Cary so that I could see what all the fuss was about. I was really looking forward to it, however, saddly I was disappointed. Prices were too steep for me ($7.55 for a chicken leg, small order of fries, and a few plantains). Portions are not big at all. The taste of the chicken, which I had heard about for years, is nothing you cant do at home yourself; just buy you a good jamaican jerk sauce, slow cook the chicken, and you are good to go. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortantely, its over-rated and highly priced. I will not be going back. Sorry, Mami Nora...you can fool others, but not me!
(2)Vonetta M.
Delicious. Their white rice can stand alone, it's that good. And get the yucca fries too.
(4)Russell K.
Great combination of taste, and value. We frequent for take out more than dine-in, but staff has always been very kind/responsive. Try the yucca fries and chicken, can't go wrong.
(5)Victor M.
Im impressed the last Peruvian place I went to was in NY called PIO PIO, which is the same style. The chicken was tender and fall off the bone. My colleagues have already said that they will be returning to this place. A little pricey for extra sides, but the meals will leave you full. Highly recommended
(4)Christian P.
We have tried the chicken, arroz chaufa and lomo saltado and liked all 3 dishes. We prefer the Raleigh location over this due to having the sauce station.
(4)Cory S.
Most importantly, the chicken is tremendous and there are several great sides (including the maduros for plantain fans). It's also crazy fast and convenient, and the people working there are laid back and friendly. Highly recommended.

A couple of weeks ago I stopped by with my family for the first time. My kids wanted to go somewhere else.So we decided to leave. As we walked out the door the manager or the owner came outside, introduced him self as Manny and he offered us a sample of the chicken and Plantain. I'm so glad he did, it was the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. the chicken was full of flavor. He ran inside and got the kids a few more samples and that did it for us, the Kids loved everything. We got 2 whole chicken rice and beans, plantain and fries and it was amazing. Thank you Manny for the experience and the great food.We drove from Chapel Hill and we will continue to do so. this is now our new Friday hang out.
(5)Shera P.
Chapel hill location, not all that. The chicken has flavour the meat is DRY, way too long under the heater. The beans are just ok. Nothing here is drop dead good or for me, not even worth going back for. I will say that nothing there is icky, just not memorable.

I have gone to the Mami Nora's in Raleigh and wanted to see how this new location was in Cary (its close to my office). I have ordered the 1/4 white chicken, rice and black beans (another time I had the chicken soup). The food was delicious and service was speedy. Price for lunch was good and I like the atmosphere of the place. One thing that I don't like is the one entrance in the front. If the line for ordering food gets backed up then its difficult for people to exit. You tend to forget there is another door in the rear of the store. I look forward to going back for the food!
