Surprised to read the feedback as we had a decent dining experience. The building is old but clean and has a warm feeling. Staff was welcoming and food was good. You can tell its new and they are still working through the kinks.

Man, I saw the 1 stars and thought it couldn't be that bad. Waited a long long time for service then longer for beer. Finally came and was then told, "Sorry, no Yuengling." Then five minutes later, "Sorry, ran out of fish," for the fish n chips. Got the house salad with grilled salmon. Big mistake. Literally, the worst salmon I ever had. Will say the waiter was nice and apologetic. Oh yeah, our friend's 10-year old daughter tried her 2-year old brother's chocolate milk, told her dad it was terrible --- Turned out it was sour. Seriously. My suggestion is stay hungry (as that was our excuse at 2:00) and go anywhere else --- Although, it shouldn't be in business much longer.

This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. The service was horrible and the food was barely tolerable. We stumbled across this restaurant while traveling through Blowing Rock. I should have taken it as a sign when the hostess asked me three times how many people were in party before leaving me to stand there for ten minutes. We finally sat down and after being told a third of the menu wasn't available, ordered the meatloaf, country fried steak and an appetizer of fried green tomatoes. Our entrees arrived 20 minutes later but two things were missing: our appetizer and our silverware. We asked for both from our waitress, she apologized and scurried off to get the silverware. The silver ware arrived after about 5 minutes( of course the waitress decided to get a drink order in for another table first) and the appetizer came about 25 minutes later. The charcoal, I mean meatloaf, was dry and dull- we sent it back. The country fried steak was decent ( worth nowhere near the $15 price tag) but had very little gravy. The fried green tomatoes were ok ( again, overpriced, not worth the $9 price tag) Avoid this place- your money is better spent at other restaurants on the same rd.

As of today, December 1st, the sanitation grade was still 92. We were a party of 4, all but one order was wrong and the one that was right was a burger that was "warm" at best. I ordered the country fried steak sandwich, I received a grilled chicken sandwich. I told the food server my order was wrong, he took it back to the kitchen. When he returned, I was informed they were "out of country fried steak." (WTF?) He apologized and mentioned my server should have informed me of this. (No $h!t) The bottle of ketchup we received was less than a quarter full. We politely asked for another bottle. After at least 10min we received a bottle which was also less than a quarter full. We jokingly asked if there was a ketchup shortage in town or just at the restaurant. He asked if ketchup "packets" were ok. Since we didn't seem to have much choice we said yes. After another 5-10min we received a clear squeeze bottle of ketchup from the kitchen. Later our server came by when he realized of the mistake on my order. He said the reason I received a chicken sandwich instead of a country fried steak sandwich was that he had printed out the menus that morning with the adjustment. IF this was true, I would have been the first person to order a country friend sandwich all day. We ordered at around 2pm. It may be possible but I highly doubt this was the case. EVEN if it was, he told me what should have been on the menu in place of the country fried steak was a country fried chicken sandwich. OK, WELL IF THAT WAS TRUE, then why did I receive a GRILLED chicken sandwich? All in all, I would simply state that the culture and attitude of this restaurant is subpar (or slightly mess than mediocre at best). I very rarely jump to the net and post a negative feedback for a restaurant. It has to truly be a bad experience for me to take the time to do so. This was definitely one of those occasions. I am sorry MK's but you guys have a lot to learn about the restaurant business or at the very least, customer service. We were not even offered anything off of our check, a comp'd meal, free dessert...nothing. This, in my opinion, is unexceptable.
