Blah is the best I can say for the $ 8 burger! Toyed with black and bleu salad and that would have been better. The waitress didn't bring our drinks until she brought the food, totally unheard of. The only resaon we stopped was the asthetics of the building & decor, with a hope the food was decent. We were there mid-afternoon, not a time you expect poor service. Even after we asked for our drinks a second time, they came with the food, and waitress was no where to be seen for refills. Not a place I will go back to anytime soon!

Filthy glass of water, there was crud all over the glass well beyond the rim - not sure how server overlooked this! Spinach and artichoke dip very oily - despite this was tasty. The most disgusting homemade potato chips ever, drenched in oil - soft - gooey yet hard and burned on edges, staff was pleasant, in a hurry though. Parking was minimal. French dip was just ok. Disappointed. I would not go back.

I've eaten here several times. Burgers are good and the blackened blue salad are good. Was disappointed with Marsala dish. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Not too bad. Has a chain like atmostphere/menu, but ok food.

The food here was sooo good we both practically ate ourselves into a food coma. Addie, our server was in a word: phenomenal. Everyone there was super courteous. We had the Stone Ridge Chicken (name?) it's smothered in cheese, bacon and mushrooms and ooooh, so tender. Served with a side of honey mustard. The spicy southwestern chicken soup was awesome as well. HIGHLY recommend a visit here!

Delicious! Mountain trout was wonderful and the local beer was fantastic.

Stayed at a near by hotel, so decided to give it a try. Please do not waste your $$$. I ordered a loaded bake potato... Which was not loaded and looked as if it had been sitting in an oven all day. My husband ordered the gyro platter.... Very light on the meat and soggy salad....was expecting some rice pilaf to go with the gyro.... NOT. Service was extremely poor as well. Should have just gone to McDonald's .

Our hotel recommend this restaurant and what a find! The food and the service were wonderful. Our server Alexis, was very helpful and proficient. We will definitely eat here again when in town.

Decent food always. Great service. Ribs, steak, gyro, are all great. The key lime pie rivals mine. This is in our regular rotation of places to eat. There isn't usually a long wait since it's out of the center of Asheville.

Overpriced and mediocre food. My husband and I shared the fried calamari, which was the one good thing about our meal. The waiter asked how I wanted my steak done, I ordered it medium rare, and got a tough piece of very well done meat slathered in a slimy sauce. My husband got the seafood platter, which had some fish over done and some fish under done. We paid a lot for pretty mediocre food. Won't be back unfortunately.

The fried pickles are great freshly made with House Made Ranch & I would definitely return just for them. The service was good. For the price I did expect a wee bit more in the freshly made department but it was a mix of fresh & pre-made. It was good overall but pricey.

If you like Outback, you'll love this place. Everything was fine, nothing stood out either way, feels very much like a chain even though it's not. Was happy to find something in the area open late, and it got the job done. Safe choice if you're limited to this area.

I ate here on a road trip in late October and the food was pretty solid. The plate of cheese fries we ordered was HUGE and delicious. I asked for extra cheese and they delivered! My friend ordered the full rack of ribs and he said they were tender and flavorful.. his words were: "falling off the bone good". Definitely recommend. I ordered the gyro and it wasn't too bad, but I'd try something else next time. The best part of our meal, though, might have been our server Brittany B. She was AWESOME!!! One of the best servers ever.

Nice find! After an 8hr drive didn't feel like eating out. Next to my hotel, called for takeout and they obliged! Very fast in fixing my food, got my order right and were friendly in the phone and when I went to pick up. The coconut shrimp appetizer w/mango salsa was fantastic! And 6 jumbo shrimp w/a very dippable mango salsa for $5.99 was a delicious bargain! I had the ahi tuna spinach salad w/ginger sesame dressing as well, which was also great! Will have to try a sit down next time I'm in Asheville, it looked nice!

Picked based on outside look. Great choice. Service was fast, the food was excellent, and it was everything we hoped it would be. Space the Decour is absolutely fantastic and it will be on our return to list if you're ever back here again.

Nice casual dining option. Ordered the Black and Bleu burger, medium-well done. Burger was more like medium rate. Great fries.

I was traveling through Ashville, NC on my way to the Outer Banks and found this place on yelp. To me it is just right. The food is quite good and the decor is very nice. This place is family friendly, but also has a decent bar for adults looking to watch a game. Very enjoyable overall.

We had the stuffed flounder! It was like eating a huge crab cake wrapped in tender fish! The sauce had a touch of spice.

Second time I've tried this place. Can't believe it was worse the second time. Terrible service , high prices and I got was there to Q-tip in the planter the whole time with tables full of dirty dishes next to us the entire time.

This place was awesome. We found it on Yelp while spending a couple of days in the mountains. Wish I could remember our waitress's name as she was fantastic (great with recommendations, fun to talk to, very personable etc). Everything was so incredibly yummy. Would definitely return and would recommend them to anyone/everyone.

We were impressed. The hotel staff recommended the place. They got it right. Food was delicious and came in large portions. The service was outstanding. There were two waitresses that jointly served us with amazing enthusiasm. Highly recommend this place.

Had a pretty delicious spinach salad with a pretty decent grilled Salmon on top. We also tried the fried gator bites and those were alright. Our waitress was kind & efficient and we were able to sit on the patio with our dog, so that was nice.

Went with large group early Friday night. Didn't have to wait and were greeted and seated right away. Brought out nice warm rolls and butter. And our salads were quick too. I had a great rib steak cooked perfect. Other dinners didn't look as good as mine. It's a nice menu but I would stick with the steaks. The service was good and they seemed accommodating. I hear lunch is good there too.

This was a really good place to eat. We started with the bruschetta. This app is full of fresh flavors, and vampire repellant! The garlic isn't over powering, but understated on the menu. One of the best bruschetta I've ever had. The ribeye was delicious and well seasoned, the chicken was perfectly cooked an very juicy. I would defiantly go back if in the area for a good dinner place, or to try their gyro at lunch! Almost forgot if your staying in a hotel nearby, they offer a discount.

Stone Ridge Tavern feels like a chain restaurant, but as the best that I can tell it's actually an Asheville born and bred establishment. If your ideal interior ambiance is tons of wood, this may be your dream spot. From the massive wooden logs that make up its exterior to the wood panelling as far as the eye can see this place is a mascot for the lumber industry. The menu seems like it was designed for family meals where you want to make sure that grandpa is just as happy as your little brother with the dietary restrictions. Ribs, seafood, greek salads, pasta, it's kind of like an international entire food court on three pages. There's something for everyone. You wouldn't call it inspired, but they do everything okay. I have eaten here multiple times, as it is fairly equidistant between my parents' home and other family members in the area. I'm still looking for my one all-star menu item that I get excited about ordering here, but with so many options, I have still yet to find it. Service here has ranged from pretty nice to apathetic. Upon one meal here when my grandfather and I had arrived earlier than the rest of the party our server refused to bring us bread until everyone arrived. This seems fairly cruel considering how hard my grandfather has worked throughout his life. He can't have a slice of bread until our party arrives? It distressed me.

I had been here once before but do not remember much about the experience. On a recent trip to Asheville, I stopped here for a quick lunch before exploring the area. The staff was great but you don't go to a restaurant just for the staff. I ordered one of their "specialties" - a medium greek salad with shrimp and a beer. The greek salad was big and consisted of lettuce, tomatoes, onions and was smothered in both feta and a made in-house sweet greek salad dressing. This had to be one of the worst salads I've ever had. the lettuce was dripping with dressing and there was a puddle on the bottom of the plate. Smothering the top with cheese didn't help. If they can screw up a salad, I wonder what they do to other items on the menu. Sorry, I won't be coming back here in my future Asheville explorations.

We went to the Stone Ridge Tavern after a day of driving through the Smokey Mountains National Park. We had eaten a late lunch and weren't terribly hungry. Because it was a Sunday, the house was serving the dinner menu all day. Sarah made a special effort to go back to see if we could order off the lunch menu. Permission was granted. She made two diners extremely happy. Our food was excellent tasting and served quickly. We were tired, but Sarah's attitude and willingness to please her customers made our day all the better

OMG, this place! Where do I start? The place itself, you feel like your walking into a bass pro shop, loved the decor. The service was good. The food. Dang. Had the signature burger with sweet potato fries. Barely finished it. Awesome. A mans burger, used both hands. Cooked medium, onions, cheese, bacon, and other stuff I've forgotten. My friend friend had the crab bisque appetizer, really good. Then the salmon. Said it was great. Try the gator bits appetizer, you won't be disappointed.

As much as I love other burger joints in AVL, the Great American Cheeseburger cooked medium rare-medium is the single BEST burger in AVL... Once again!
(5)
Andrew B.
Their burgers are really fantastic, coming from a man who really loves a tasty burger. The bacon bbq burger is in my top 3 in Asheville and it's consistent every time (perfectly cooked to medium- rare when asked). Reasonable prices and free substituted sweet potato fries are a plus (also bomb)! Salmon was good, and the ribs are also fall off the bone if that's your style. Check out the local beer selection too if you are travelling.

I ordered crab legs which were cooked perfectly. Hubs got flounder, couldn't finish it. Baked potatoes and onion ring were above average, and salad was fresh with multiple ingredients, including grated cheddar. Rum runner and Margarita were excellent. Service was good, too. Because there is so much wood everywhere, it is a bit noisy - not unbearable, but certainly not romantic. Definite recommend , and we will return.

Gator Bites - Although small pieces, they were the best I ever had. Salad with slices of tuna - AWESOME! Menu has something for everyone. Going back today for lunch.

Not bad, but also not great. We wanted to eat somewhere close to the outlets, thought we would try this out, even though it has mixed reviews. It was nice out, so we were able to sit outside, which has very comfortable, cushy seats, however the table was still dirty from the last customer. It just needed to be wiped down, and you would think the hostess would have noticed or the waitress, but since we are not eating off the table, I didn't say anything and just used a napkin to wipe it down. It took forever for someone to come and see us and our waitress was very nice, but seemed to really struggle with taking our very simple lunch order (for 2 people) and then mixed up our orders and then forget part of my husbands order. Waitressing is not for everyone, so I can't say that speaks much about the restaurant itself. But my greek salad tasted like it had Italian dressing on it and my fish had zero taste and the fries could have used salt, pepper or something to make them stand out as anything other then just a plain fried potato. My husband had chicken and he felt like it was okay, but nothing great and no real taste to describe. I felt like we were just eating to eat. It then took forever to get our check and at that point we were just itching to leave and get on with our day. I feel like if I HAD to go back again, I would sit at the bar and order one of the fried appetizers because you really can't screw that up.

Horrible quality. Had blooming onion, cup of chili, seared ahia tuna salad. Tuna was salty and clearly not fresh. The chili was cold and our appetizers were pitiful. The atmosphere was dismal as we sat in the back next to the beverage dispenser... would not recommended eating here.

Got burgers, chicken tenders, and a steak. It was all cooked perfectly. The steak could have used a bit more seasoning. The burger and chicken tenders were awesome. Salads were great. Reasonably priced. I would definitely go back there.

Visiting area... Had greek Pasta w chicken and Highland Amber. Service was good, great atmosphere and food was fresh. Salads and Burgers looked great at others table and Appetizers list is great to share. Highly recommend this. Good value... Blooming onion should be called a basketball!!!

Very pleased with my experience at the stoneridge tavern! Atmosphere is very welcoming and comforting. I ordered a delicious full rack of ribs which came right off the bone and were extremely tender. Beer selection could be a little better, but is reasonable nonetheless. My girlfriend found her dish to be too spicy for her taste, but luckily the server was accommodating and brought her a different dish at no extra charge! Would recommend this place for a generally enjoyable dining experience.

We stopped here while passing through Asheville. We read the reviews on yelp and were happy we did. Since it was a nice evening, we opted for the outdoor patio area. It was lightly breezing and refreshing. Our waitress was attentive and charming. We tried the jumbo shrimp special appetizer. Shrimps were more like small prawns but nonetheless delicious! I had the blackened tilapia and my husband had the broiled trout. Imthey were both delicious! Cooked perfectly! The bread rolls were so fluffy and airy. You MUST eat at least one! Wasn't a fan of the cinnamon sugar whipped dip that come with it but perfect alone! Go and try it! It's very good!!! Would go again if we ever come back to A'ville!

The food is really good, the atmosphere and construction is very inviting and calming. I had the trout and it was prepared perfectly. The Southwestern Chicken soup tasted good, but I don't know if it had a single piece of chicken in it. The wait staff was prompt and nice. I would definitely go back again.

The waiter was very annoying. He was so fake and tried to suck up too much to me until I said I wasn't the one paying the bill. The appetizer ( fried pickles) was good but it took so long to get it our meal came out 1 minute after the appetizer. The vegetables were inedible because the broccoli with cheese had that fake nacho cheese on it, the mixed vegetables tasted like they were boiled in onion juice (I told the waiter I didn't like onions and that my husband was allergic so not to bring any to the table) My husband had mushrooms and steak both visually did not have onions but they must have been cooked on the same grill as onions because when we got home he got sick and had to take Benadryl. He did say the mushrooms tasted different I am sure it was onions. My meal was suppose to come with clam chowder but the waiter did not bring it. I asked and he said he would bring it to me in a to go cup so I could have it later. The fried oysters were good but instead of catfish with my meal I got flounder. The cat in the parking lot seemed to like it. My son had pasta Alfredo which he had to add a lot of Parmesan cheese and salt. I would not go here again.

Caesar salad was limp and drenched with dressing and shaved cheese. Trout was decent. Halibut was over cooked and dry. Couldn't eat it. Celery in Bloody Mary was unwashed and had dirt in it and was uncut. Staff is friendly and personable. Food sucks. Do not recommend.

Amazing food, we shared a rack of baby back rips and had a gator tail appetizer. Great service, try it if you like grilled food for a reasonable price.

We arrived late into Asheville, were staying nearby and didn't want to go in search of a place to eat. We weren't expecting much, but we're pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is clean and nicely appointed. Our server was friendly and helpful. We started with the bloomin' onion type thing and it was good. You really can't mess that up though. My husband had the chili which he said was just ok. We shared a full rack of baby back ribs and those were excellent. Fall off the bone goodness. Let me tell you, we are certified baby back ribs snobs. We have the best place for ribs here at home and are always disappointed in other places. Not this time. The ribs at Stone Ridge were just as good.

This was our first visit to asheville and the hotel recommended this restaurant our first night. The food was tasty although the service was very slow. The manager immediately apologized when our meal came out before our salad and soup then knocked 20% off the bill. We will definitely try this place again.

Kevin G.
I ordered the calabash chicken tenders. Came out overcooked and chewy, not to mention only 4 pieces for 12.99. I asked for a hamburger in replacement, came out with a burnt bottom bun. I was still charged for the fries, never saw a manager come by and ask about my meal.

We stopped here to eat as it was close to our hotel. We had not read any reviews, but were pleasantly surprised by the food and atmosphere. It is locally owned. I was not expecting there to be Greek food on the menu, but the waitress said the owners are a Greek family. We both had gyros and they were very good. The kids meals were generous sizes. Our girls are not big eaters, we could have easily had them split a dinner. The only mistake on our part was that we ate dinner before we checked in at the hotel. We found out when we checked in at the Fairfield Inn that our room key would have got us a 10% discount. We will stop here the next time we are traveling through Asheville.

This is your basic big loud impersonal steak and burger cavern. Not much going for it in ambiance but the burgers are huge and generally cooked to order.

I would consider eating somewhere else. Had dinner here on July 1, 2014. The air conditioning was not working and it was 80 plus degrees in restaurant. I ordered the London Broil for $12.95 which included a side salad. While eating my entree, I discovered a long hair in my mouth that was mixed in with the food. I told the server and she apologized and said she would send the manager over and take the meal off our bill. The server came back 5 minutes later informing me that manager decided to take off entree by charged my $4.49 for a salad that was included with my meal! The manager never took the time to come over to the table or ask if I wanted something else. Their are better places to eat with better service then this establishment in the Asheville area.

This place is a solid 5, and I will be back very soon. We live in Enka, so we've driven past this numerous times on our weekly excursions to Kmart, but never stopped in. They have a full bar, but the drinks are pretty expensive. Good thing I didn't come here to drink, though, so I don't care. I came for food, and food they delivered. I ordered Chicken Italiano, which was really, really, scarily similar to the Chicken Nostimon (billed as a Greek dish) at Pomodoro's. What's awesome is that it was every bit as good, and about 30% cheaper! I forgot what my wife got because I was too busy paying attention to my delicious chicken. We got the best Bruschetta I've ever had for an appetizer, and I was still pretty happy about that, too. I got Tiramisu for dessert, which was admittedly a little disappointing. The ladyfingers weren't soaked in espresso at all, so it really didn't have much of that delicious coffee flavor to it. Still, the entrees and that bruschetta alone are enough to get me back there time and again. Plenty of seating and wonderful waitstaff.

Big place with a menu from pasta to steak. We ate here twice on our stay. The food was good both times. Service was off a little the first time, spot on the second. Good rolls, fresh, hot and Salads are huge. The place is down the street from the Holiday Inn we stayed at. Would definitely recommend you try them if you are in the area.

After visiting the Biltmore estate my wife and I wanted a nice meal to celebrate our birthdays. We decided to try Stone Ridge and couldn't be happier that we did. We enjoyed the full rack of ribs that were awesome and the 22oz porterhouse that was cooked to perfection. The broccoli and cheese soup was very good too. Maybe the best part of the meal were the hot yeast rolls served with whipped cinnamon butter. They were delicious. When I informed the waitress that we were here for our birthdays she brought us out a complementary huge brownie sundae. Nothing but satisfaction from our experience. 1-25-14

This restaurant is right down the street from the Fairfield Inn that we stayed at. It had a great selection of food and drinks. I had the Swiss mushroom burger and it was delicious. My gf had the clam chowder and a salad and she thought they were great. Our total was only 20 bucks too (one beer included). Definitely recommend.

Great place to grab some dinner, pretty quick service. I had the two pork chops, but they lacked much flavor - I ended up adding Heinz 57 sauce. My wife had the Chicken Italiano, which she said had a decent amount of flavor. We started the meal with the Brushetta which was AWESOME. I highly recommend ordering that - you won't leave any bread or tomatoes behind. Our server was Matt and he was very courteous and professional - definitely ask for him!

This is a comfortable, friendly venue with a wide ranging selection of pretty decent food and good beers on tap. Just don't come in with high expectations about the food -- it's just normal, good stuff -- and don't be fussy about the wait staff because they do get very busy at peak hours and their bar is not set up for fast turnaround. Just put it on Asheville time and you will enjoy yourself and go home with a happy tummy and wallet. I am a fan of their chef and greek salads, gyro sandwiches, burgers, and especially their sweet potato fries. They carry a small selection of local brews on tap, and the staff here is always smiling. They're doing a good job and there are plenty of reasons why they have so many regulars.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Asheville. I've eaten at this place several times, each time ordering something different. From the burgers, to the gyro, to the steak, to the mountain trout, I have yet to be disappointed. I wish they'd carry more local beers, but other that I can't complain.
(5)

The food was blah...tilapia had the flavor of what I might imagine a gym shoe would taste like.

Service was horrible, would have more luck at a ghetto Krystal's. Food was passable although not worth the price you pay. The good thing is the serving size is ginormous.

Ate with ten coaches after lacrosse tournament. Tavern located across from hotel. Highlights: big pasta bowls, good mountain trout, 12+ beers on tap, good service. Perhaps a little pricey. Very reminiscent of an Outback Steakhouse.

The reviews on this place might be a little high. It's a solid place for lunch, but the menu is so varied it's nearly impossible to decide what to have. The cheese fries were decadent and good. Their ranch dressing was very good. We had the buffalo chicken wraps, and they were spicy! Nothing out of the ordinary there. The decor is more memorable than the food. Sorry.

This place was recommended by the front desk clerk at The Hampton Inn. What a nice place. Has a homey/lodgey feel to it! The bread they give you as a starter to your meal is like heaven! Little warm cloud puffs of flakiness! And to guild the Lilly, they serve it with cinnamon butter! Love! Love! love!!! My husband had a burger and he loved it! I had appetizer nachos w/ chicken. As a meal for one person, it was a little too much. But it was quite tasty. My older son had the stuffed flounder w/ grilled veggies. He gave that high marks. Cesar salad was delish! And the fries are thick and uniformly fried. Service was great. Waitress gave us refills without us asking. Good meal. I would definitely go back again!

My fraternity had formal here, and the staff as well as the food were excellent. My date and I split the filet mignon and fettucini alfredo, it was phenomenal. Also, the caesar salad and bread (AMAZING BUTTER!) were great. Thanks yall for making this a great weekend for our fraternity.

I've been here a couple of times, once for lunch with a group and once for dinner as a couple. I enjoyed the lunch more than dinner, but both were perfectly fine. But just fine, nothing to write home about (although something Yelp about). It was basic solid food with good service. My pork chop dinner (listed as a house speciality) was lackluster at best; I am curious about the choice to bread grilled chops? The breading only acted as an agent to char on the grill, and the promised lemon butter sauce was non-existent. While I did not try a steak or burger, I have the feeling they would be better choices here. Still, I would return and think it is worth a try if you're in the neighborhood and fancy a bite

People beware... this is not the restaurant you've read about. I've never had to disagree with reviews on YELP. This is the first restaurant I have felt the need to write about with an overwhelmingly strong negative reaction. Moving from California, I have relied heavily on YELP over the past four weeks on restaurants and services in Asheville. They've been spot on in almost all services we've used and restaurants we've been too, but MAN is this way off the mark. I'll try to be brief, but can't promise that since I have so many things to comment on this place. Sufficed to say, Stone Ridge Tavern needs to work on several things: (1) Kids meals should not cost $9.47 when all is said and done. Stop nickel and diming people on kids meals. State on your menu that kids drinks cost $2.99 and are not included in the meal. Also state that add-on sides (kids portions) are really $2.49 and not $1.00 as indicated on your menu currently. Better yet, charge one price for everything so as to avoid confusion. I will pay $10.00 for a three-year-old's meal at the Ritz-Carlton or Four Seasons, but certainly not at the Stone Ridge Tavern... the quality of food and caliber of service does not command it. (2) Work on your quality of food. I mean seriously, if you're going to charge $16.99 for a Rib Eye, let's make sure it resembles a Rib Eye and not a tough rubbery mass resembling steak. If you're going to charge $9.99 for a couple of crab cakes, then please make sure at least half the cakes are comprised of real crab meat. The paper thin crunchy discs they call crab cakes are NOT at least half real crab cake. Don't call it a crab cake, call it a seafood cake and leave it at that... such a disappointment. (3) Seriously work on your quality control on food temperature. Being located in the south, one would assume that the definition of medium-rare is pink to a touch of red in the center. Medium-well is defined as almost well done (very little to no pink in the center). Imagine our surprise to see our rib-eye which we ordered medium-rare come out to us with no pink in the center. WOW another disappointment. (4) Work on your service standards both on the server level and managerial level. (4A) Servers need to anticipate your needs (ie, empty beverage glass needs refilling, or at least ask the guest if he/she would like a refill or better yet, here is a spill on the table, perhaps addition napkins are required - oh wait, let me not fail to mention the pile of plates at the edge of the table... TAKE THEM AWAY PLEASE)... can we be more obvious - we pushed them from the center of the table to the very edge of the table so she would see it. (4B) On the managerial level - if a person had a bad meal, comp the whole entree, don't just comp the portion that was not edible. Case in point, the rib-eye we ordered was inedible and served at the wrong tempurature. Instead of comping the entire $16.99 (which included one side and a salad), the manager charged $5.99 for the salad (which she labeled as a greek salad open miscellaneous item even though we never had a greek salad, we just had the salad included in the meal - which was average at best). We didn't touch the bake potato either, but I guess she couldn't figure out the cost of that fraction of the total cost. Talk about CHEESY... do you not put a value on return customer revenue? Again, if at places like Corner Kitchen, Cedric's Tavern (on the Biltmore Estate), Tupelo Honey Cafe (or even Cracker Barrel for that matter) they would have (and have) comped the entire entree cost plus at least one or all appetizers or the entire entree plus kids meal or something extra so that you never left with a bad taste in your mouth. Would we consider going back to those places if something like this happened? Yes, of course we would because they went out of their way to make us feel special and not bothersome. Would we consider going back to Stone Ridge Tavern? OH HECK NO! I must say, I've been in the hospitality industry for over 15 years and my husband is an executive in the food and beverage service industry, so needless to say, we know of what we write (and speak). It is sad that a family run business like this, which relies heavily on word of mouth, should have such LOW quality of food product, quality control in food temperature, and service standards for managers and servers alike. If you charge prices like you do, make sure your food and your service match what your customers receive. Consumers beware. Know what you are getting into before you go. We hope your experience is better than ours. Good luck.

As I planned for a short vacation to Asheville, I had planned on stopping by this restaurant based on the good reviews and ratings. Seating was prompt as we had come in early evening on a Sunday with 4 people. They sat us in a booth next to the bar, with great views of the flat screens to watch the game. Our waitress was very friendly, knocking jokes and chatting it up with us. Service was also prompt, as we were never having to wait for our food or drink. The food was just superb on all four corners of the table. I, along with one buddy, ordered the baby back ribs. I attempted to attack a full rack, but in the end needed help to finish. It's hard to find the delicious BBQ fall off the bone ribs, but this place knew exactly what they were doing and hit it out of the park. Another buddy ordered a steak, and stated that this was the first time he was able to finish a steak because it was so good. Definitely a very family friendly restaurant - I'd have to compare it to a Smokey Bones in my area. But they definitely know how to prepare their food. Moderately price too makes it all worth it.

Good steak. Cooked to perfection and the rub they used was fantastic. Good beer selection and moderate prices overall. Total bill for a steak dinner and a couple 22oz beers was about $30. Not bad. Sat at the bar, service was timely and frequent

Loved the concrete bar. The calamari was nice, but I am salt sensitive, so I would liked a bit less. The marinara sauce is a bit sweet for me but nice other flavors and nice texture. The shrimp bisque tasted great but don't use minced shrimp. I prefer fresh ground pepper at the tables. Overdone steamed veggies. Ahi tuna smaller portion for the price, but tasted nice. Nice friendly bar staff and I liked the design of the place. Not much else on this side of town.

Our party of eight were seated immediately. Service was good and everyone enjoyed their meals which ranged from ribs to crab cakes. I will go back next time I am in Asheville.

There's something special about Greek salads on a warm summer day. Sitting in the outside area with shade and a cool breeze partaking of good service, food and liquid refreshment.

Were surprised by this place: cool atmosphere and quality food and a reasonable price. Ribs were very good!

Our original destination was Ryan's across the street but the slow seating took a toll on my patience, so we decided to check out this place that we've passed by several times since being built. I've heard through the grapevine that this is owned by the same people as Cornerstone and Providence 620. I'm not sure, but they definitely rate on the same scale. From the outside, it looks like a nice warm and inviting mountain lodge. After stepping inside, the warm colors and large space mixes a touch of class with cheese. A huge (faux?) stone fireplace is at the center of the room which warms up the atmosphere, but there are a couple of cheesy concrete formed walls that look like something like the interior of a well worn cave wall and one has the name embedded in it. It looked like it should have water running down it or something. We instantly got a table as the hostess had a full grasp on which tables were available and ready. The instant we sat down we got our menus and shortly thereafter our server came by with a basket full of warm dinner rolls with honey butter (YUM!). The server was very personable, took our drink order and quickly brought them back with a suggestion for appetizers. The menu has quite a few choices and the prices are fairly reasonable. Because we were so hungry and anticipating Ryan's we ordered an appetizer that we knew would be delivered quickly. Spinach and Artichoke dip. It did arrive quickly but it was very disappointing as I was anticipating pita points and got tostidos for dipping. The dip also seemed rather institutional, it was a little greasy and lacking those nice chunks of spinach and artichoke you generally find in a homemade version. I settled on the 16oz Ribeye which came with a salad and a side for $18. My second choice was the 'Stone Ridge Chicken Breast' for $12 which also included salad and a side and it was topped with cheese, bacon and mushrooms. It sounded awesome, but I was in the mood for a steak. Fortunately it was by far the best Ribeye i've had in a while and definitely puts to shame some of the chain steakhouses around town. Nicely marinated, it was also very tender and flavorful. The salad was a nice mixed green (not iceberg) with cukes, 'maters and cheese. I opted for no onions and the bleu cheese dressing was the kind I like, light but with tons of flavor and HUGE chunks of cheese. I ordered the grilled asparagus as my side and it was very flavorful and cooked just right so that it still had a snap to it but warm all the way through. Overall It seemed like a pretty good value for a night out. It has a nice atmosphere and reasonable prices. Service was fast and friendly and each course came out just in time, so no sitting around waiting for the next part of our meal. I will definitely return.

I was looking for something healthy but the none of the seafood sounded good. Ended up ordered a Black and Bleu burger. I was surprised they actually cooked it correctly. The menu said they grind meat daily so I figured it was safe to order it medium and it did have a bit pink left. My choice of side was onion rings and to my surprise they were hand breaded and delicious. Service wasn't great but not bad. I sat at the bar and it seemed it took forever to get a drink then forever for her to take my credit card. Restaurant was a pretty good size and it was not a bad experience. I would say it would be a good family place.

Stopped by here for dinner the other night while visiting the Biltmore Estates... and while we were all quite famished, this place really did nothing for me. I guess if you are a kid and fried chicken or a burger and french fries will make you happy, then this is the place for you. I, on the other hand, am a vegetarian and ordered the Four Cheese Penne Pasta - the menu clearly did NOT mention any meat. As I was eating this bland bowl of pasta that my mom could make a hundred times more exciting, my fork meets four very LARGE chunks of chicken. Seriously? Totally ruined the meal for me... I didn't even bother asking for a replacement because the pasta itself was not that wonderful. My cousin ate one of the chicken chunks, made a disgusted face, and said it doesn't taste like chicken but had a weird powdery texture. Wow. For $11, that was lame... but then, $11 isn't very much. $11 actually includes a soup or salad, which is a good deal, and I ended up getting the Greek salad which was mediocre to say the least - there was an unhealthy amount of cheese and the lettuce was kind of soggy. My dad ordered some spaghetti with mushrooms I think, and he said it tasted weird and as a normal lover of pasta, was not anywhere near finishing up his dish. Three Pros: -portions are very large -the bread + butter -polite waitress

Love it Love it Love it. My mother and I were so impressed with this place when we had dinner here while visiting Asheville. The sweet tea was amazing, and we were so glad they had it...I'm from Maryland, and NO place has real sweet tea...so we were incredibly happy with that, yay for the South :) I ordered a burger and fries, and the portion was huge. Reasonable prices....nice staff. Our waiter even gave me sweet tea in a cup to go since we raved about it so much! I loved the whole atmosphere of it and kept telling my mom that we needed to open one where we live in Maryland...it would be such a huge hit.

IT'S SO FLUUUFFFFFFYYYYYY! The bread, that is. I'm not even a fan of bread, and I DIE over the bread here. Yes, the bread that they serve you before your meal comes. Yes, the bread that people tell you not to fill up on. It. Is. Perfection. And it comes with a DELICIOUS spread (not butter) that just melts in your mouth. I went here with my parents while on a weekend trip to Asheville (to see Biltmore) and we randomly chose a restaurant near the hotel. I'm not a huge fan of American/Tavern food, and so the rest of the meal was meh to me. Food portions are BIG. I had the clam chowder (god knows why, since I don't particularly enjoy seafood) and the cajun seafood pasta (this was my dad's order; he decided he wanted my spaghetti with mushrooms instead). Both were just okay. My mother ordered the jumbo shrimp, broiled, and was the only one of us to finish our food(read: it's a reasonable portion, though a bit expensive for the money). I liked her southwest chicken soup over my chowder. Awesomely flavorful, with a good amount of spicy, though maybe not for those of you teary-eyed folks. Service was great, too. My waiter was very attentive, though had a nervous temperament or something (which was cute and somewhat strange). Wish I'd tipped him more.

Like the atmosphere, good service. Large menu... Soups, salads, steaks, burgers, fish, pasta, gyros, and more! Hubby had the mountain trout, broiled. Pretty good. I had the gyro with extra sauce. Pretty true to Greek origin & delicious! And baklava for dessert! I am a sucker for baklava, but very picky. This baklava was not perfectly fresh & tasty, just so-so. Overall good place for dinner if you're in the area.

Stopped in here for dinner on a recent camping trip to Lake Powhatan. I was very surprised with how good the food was. After sitting down for a minute they give you a basket with some complementary rolls, that's always a good start. I ordered the mountain trout broiled...it was delicious. The other prep choices were fried, blackened, or grilled. It was two very large fillets broiled perfectly with a lemon butter flavor. It also came with your choice of a salad and another side (I got the baked potato). All said, well worth the $14 for the quality of the food. Also, they have a pretty extensive menu.

One step up from ryans. Average steak and so so service. My wife ordered a merlot and the waitress didn't know what it was. Better off downtown.

Excellent food. Husband went for the baby back ribs and garlic mashed potatoes. They were fall off the bone excellent! I had the tavern burger. They cooked it perfectly. Couldn't ask for better food and service!

These guys know how to do steak! Great staff, amazing food. Wonderful menu variety (From fried gator to tasty salads!). I love rare steak, so this place was perfect. They spell it out right on the menu so you know how to order your meet. They also give a disclaimer: "We do not recommend ordering well-done, and do not take responsibility!" I had the ribeye and it was the 2nd best beef I've ever had (the 1st being at my wedding). Their crab legs are also great. Our waitress was sweet and attentive.

I gave this restaurant 3-stars because it wasn't great and it wasn't terrible when we went there for lunch one afternoon. The atmosphere was rustic and quaint but the lunch menu so plentiful but typical salads, sandwiches, burgers, and wraps. They were good but nothing crazy special. My husband really like the tiger sauce that came with his chicken sandwich and their gyro with lamb was decent. Service was okay and price was reasonable.

Delish!!! Great service seated immediately, nice cozy atmosphere. Celebrating my husbands birthday, waiter was very helpful and always checking in on us for drinks. Coconut shrimp appetizer and Calamari appetizer was amazing Ordered the stuffed shrimp entree, salad, portions were enough to bring some for later ;) definitely recommend!!

(2)Robin G.
(1)Janice G.
I've eaten here several times. Burgers are good and the blackened blue salad are good. Was disappointed with Marsala dish. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
(3)Meg C.
Not too bad. Has a chain like atmostphere/menu, but ok food.
(3)Lisa B.
(5)Bri F.
Delicious! Mountain trout was wonderful and the local beer was fantastic.
(4)Christy L.
(1)Ms. W.
Our hotel recommend this restaurant and what a find! The food and the service were wonderful. Our server Alexis, was very helpful and proficient. We will definitely eat here again when in town.
(4)Leslie J.
Decent food always. Great service. Ribs, steak, gyro, are all great. The key lime pie rivals mine. This is in our regular rotation of places to eat. There isn't usually a long wait since it's out of the center of Asheville.
(4)Heather R.
(2)Tina S.
The fried pickles are great freshly made with House Made Ranch & I would definitely return just for them. The service was good. For the price I did expect a wee bit more in the freshly made department but it was a mix of fresh & pre-made. It was good overall but pricey.
(3)Sam H.
If you like Outback, you'll love this place. Everything was fine, nothing stood out either way, feels very much like a chain even though it's not. Was happy to find something in the area open late, and it got the job done. Safe choice if you're limited to this area.
(3)Kat A.
(4)Leila R.
(4)Gid P.
Picked based on outside look. Great choice. Service was fast, the food was excellent, and it was everything we hoped it would be. Space the Decour is absolutely fantastic and it will be on our return to list if you're ever back here again.
(4)Jim G.
Nice casual dining option. Ordered the Black and Bleu burger, medium-well done. Burger was more like medium rate. Great fries.
(4)Scott R.
I was traveling through Ashville, NC on my way to the Outer Banks and found this place on yelp. To me it is just right. The food is quite good and the decor is very nice. This place is family friendly, but also has a decent bar for adults looking to watch a game. Very enjoyable overall.
(4)Marla C.
We had the stuffed flounder! It was like eating a huge crab cake wrapped in tender fish! The sauce had a touch of spice.
(5)Shane D.
Second time I've tried this place. Can't believe it was worse the second time. Terrible service , high prices and I got was there to Q-tip in the planter the whole time with tables full of dirty dishes next to us the entire time.
(1)Vickie G.
Absolutely loved the food and the service! Just happened to stop here because hotel is just down the street. Very nice!
(5)Natalie C.

It is our second time going to Stoneridge Tavern. Richard did a very good job assisting the blind. The meal was exquisite excellent service great place to go. I definitely recommend going to Stoneridge Tavern. #Very pleased

we never ate hear before. We came to take our grandmother to celebrate her 75 birthday. i took tons of food pictures, every ones food was out of this world good, i had the pasta florentine my husband the steak. it was heavenly. our waiter was a good sport too. we attached a cake we brought too... yes its a pig!!!
(5)Steven B.
We were impressed. The hotel staff recommended the place. They got it right. Food was delicious and came in large portions. The service was outstanding. There were two waitresses that jointly served us with amazing enthusiasm. Highly recommend this place.
(5)Tai T.
Had a pretty delicious spinach salad with a pretty decent grilled Salmon on top. We also tried the fried gator bites and those were alright. Our waitress was kind & efficient and we were able to sit on the patio with our dog, so that was nice.
(3)Debbi N.
(4)laurie g.
(4)Kipper S.
(2)Donald W.
2 stars 1 for decent beer options 1 for quick service Bland, fried, squishy bread mediocre food.
(2)Jeff S.
(2)Sandi H.
(5)Robin C.
(5)Mark G.
As much as I love other burger joints in AVL, the Great American Cheeseburger cooked medium rare-medium is the single BEST burger in AVL... Once again!
(5)Andrew B.
(5)Terry S.
(4)Ron M.
Gator Bites - Although small pieces, they were the best I ever had. Salad with slices of tuna - AWESOME! Menu has something for everyone. Going back today for lunch.
(4)Rachael L.
(2)Alex P.
(1)Sarah B.
Got burgers, chicken tenders, and a steak. It was all cooked perfectly. The steak could have used a bit more seasoning. The burger and chicken tenders were awesome. Salads were great. Reasonably priced. I would definitely go back there.
(5)Marlyss W.
Everytime we come to Asheville we have to eat here. Their BBQ ribs are delicious and they have a nice selection of beer from local breweries.
(5)rod m.
Visiting area... Had greek Pasta w chicken and Highland Amber. Service was good, great atmosphere and food was fresh. Salads and Burgers looked great at others table and Appetizers list is great to share. Highly recommend this. Good value... Blooming onion should be called a basketball!!!
(4)Daniel D.
(4)Cheeky C.
(4)Derikk T.
The food is really good, the atmosphere and construction is very inviting and calming. I had the trout and it was prepared perfectly. The Southwestern Chicken soup tasted good, but I don't know if it had a single piece of chicken in it. The wait staff was prompt and nice. I would definitely go back again.
(4)John B.
Solid beer and wine selection. Ribs were slamming.
(4)Laura H.
(2)Fred V.
(2)Sebastian B.
Amazing food, we shared a rack of baby back rips and had a gator tail appetizer. Great service, try it if you like grilled food for a reasonable price.
(5)Lissete D.
(4)Olga G.
This was our first visit to asheville and the hotel recommended this restaurant our first night. The food was tasty although the service was very slow. The manager immediately apologized when our meal came out before our salad and soup then knocked 20% off the bill. We will definitely try this place again.
(3)Kevin G.

Would definitely recommend you try them if you are in the area.

went here on vday not a long wait at all, great service, the specials and regular food was amazing. all cooked perfectly just the right amounts and extra. yeast rolls were great. the drinks were good. all around very very happy with this place

(5)Matt D.

(5)Jones B.
The food was blah...tilapia had the flavor of what I might imagine a gym shoe would taste like.
(2)Travis H.
Service was horrible, would have more luck at a ghetto Krystal's. Food was passable although not worth the price you pay. The good thing is the serving size is ginormous.
(3)Jeremy M.
Ate with ten coaches after lacrosse tournament. Tavern located across from hotel. Highlights: big pasta bowls, good mountain trout, 12+ beers on tap, good service. Perhaps a little pricey. Very reminiscent of an Outback Steakhouse.
(3)Annaleah M.

(4)Steve W.

(4)Ben C.

Good prices and very good food. Another vote for the ribs.
(4)John K.
Mostly good food. Have had some misses but it happens, they always fix the miss fast and friendly. Parking sucks. Staff is friendly. Prices are fairly reasonable

Stone Ridge has the BEST RIBS!!!! We love this place. Great gator tail, ribs and Greek salads. Excellent.

(4)H W.
(4)Brian R.
Awesome job. We dropped in while staying at local hotel. Good meal and service. Great end to a long drive. Brownie dessert! Yum.
(3)William K.
(4)Craig V.
One step up from ryans. Average steak and so so service. My wife ordered a merlot and the waitress didn't know what it was. Better off downtown.
(2)Rebecca K.
Excellent food. Husband went for the baby back ribs and garlic mashed potatoes. They were fall off the bone excellent! I had the tavern burger. They cooked it perfectly. Couldn't ask for better food and service!
(5)Donald R.
Ate at the bar with Kristina. Filet was very good. Nachos were Huge! Drinks were sold free pounds. Lots of locals. Would do again
(4)Kenneth W.
ordered lunch 12-17-13. fries cold, prime rib steak way to stringy ,fatty and looked like bargain basement steak. wife's fish was ok and onion rings passable
(2)Chuck G.
One of the best ribeyes i have ever eaten at a restaurant. Very good food.
(5)Lady W.
(5)Jennifer O.
(3)Carmen V.
