North Lodge did not disappoint! We stayed in the Magnolia Room for 3 days while gathering with family in Asheville. Gary & Cindy could not have been more gracious and helpful. The lodge is charming, the bed was super comfortable, the entire place is spotlessly clean--and the breakfasts....oh my. A three-course, delicious breakfast every day, including warm individual blueberry/lemon coffee cakes, fresh melon medley with orange sauce, vegetable frittata with sweet potato hash. Just don't plan on a big lunch as you tour Asheville. The lodge is only minutes from downtown, the airport, Biltmore Estate, and the River Arts district. The innkeepers are willing and helpful tour and restaurant guides. Convenient, comfortable, quiet, and homebaked cookies and breads set out at 3:00--what more could you want?

We made same day reservations after finding the North Lodge on a hotel deal website. We called and were able to get a better rate through them for the Tiffany Room (yeah!). We arrived shortly after 3pm (check-in is from 3pm-7pm) and were greeted and shown around by Gary. The Lodge is lovely and charming. There are plenty of places to relax downstairs or outside in the gazebo. We even saw a groundhog. There aren't any of those in Florida! lol There are lots of amenities including coffee, water, a fridge stocked with sodas, a DVD library, a shared guest fridge for leftovers, fresh baked cookies, games, and lots of area information. Our room was very nice. A large king bed, plenty of windows, the best smelling sheets I have ever seen, a nice sofa and ottoman, TV with DVD player, and a nice size bathroom with a fabulous shower. Seriously, where did that shower head come from? It was amazing! The room was very quiet and we thought the neighborhood was nice. Close to downtown and close to Biltmore. Perfect. Breakfast was amazing! Don't skip out or sleep through. Get down there at 9am to meet the other guests and have Gary's delicious cooking. Next time I am in Asheville, I will not hesitate to stay here again. Lovely. (PS. there are dishes of chocolate all over the house!)

We stayed in the Geranium room one night in July. The Lodge is very quaint. The Biltmore Estate and downtown Asheville are wonderfully close as well. We overall enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was tasty. The only 2 aspects that brought our stay to a 4 out of 5 stars was how tiny our bathtub was and the closeness of the rooms upstairs. We were worried others could hear our TV playing in our room. We are glad we stayed here overall.

This B&B was recommended by friends who had stayed in Asheville. We couldn't have been more pleased. Comfortable and clean rooms. A scrumptious breakfast to start each day. We also enjoyed chatting with the other guests - both getting and giving each other tips of where to visit next. Thank you Greg for providing a cozy, relaxing get away.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Tina - the B&B's newest addition. She was so nice and welcoming - we felt right at home. From beautiful architecture to background classical music to homemade cookies available all day, we were surrounded by grace, comfort, and tranquility. Our room was lovely, though next time we'll definitely reserve the room with the king bed, if it's available. I was grateful for the spaciousness of both the room and bathroom, and slept better here than I do at home. As for breakfast, the thesaurus doesn't have enough words to describe how wonderful the food was. We never had the same meal twice, and whether it was Strawberries Romanoff or Greg's breakfast strata, every meal was heavenly! I can't say enough about Greg (and Gregg's) hospitality - they truly went above and beyond, and we enjoyed it so much we stayed another night. I was so sad to leave, and after staying at many B&B's, I can say this is the only B&B we will stay in on future trips to Asheville.

My husband and I spent two nights at this very special inn in Asheville. The exterior of the building, the amenities inside and the graciousness of our host Greg make this inn a wonderful stop on your visit to Asheville. The location is great, near the Biltmore Estate, galleries, downtown and so many good restaurants. We had delicious breakfasts in a beautiful dining room. There were always sodas, coffee tea, cookies, etc. available throughout the day. Our room even had a Keurig coffee maker. In fact, I think that all the rooms had one. The furnishings are beautiful everywhere we looked. We'd love to go back.

My husband and I decided to take a trip to Asheville, and I knew I wanted to stay at a bed & breakfast to make it a little more special. The trouble was finding one that was affordable. North Lodge was the best deal that I found on the internet! It was a good location, close to downtown Asheville. Our room (the Marsh Suite, the largest in the house) was nice and spacious, the beds were very comfortable, and everything was pristine. In addition, there were small bowls of chocolates scattered throughout the house (hershey's nuggets, krackel, andes, etc) which I appreciated. Kitchen area had cookies, keurig coffee maker, fridge with free sodas, popcorn, a bookshelf stocked full of DVDs for guests to borrow during the stay. There are 2 owners of the Bed and Breakfast, Greg and Gregg. I believe we met Greg, who was very helpful and hospitable. For breakfast the following morning, I like how we were served each dish separately, one after the other. The first dish was like a fruit yogurt parfait, which was delicious. Second was a warm biscuit with 2 types of jam. Third I'm not sure if I'd be adequately describing it but a fluffy frittata?, potato hash, and sweet sausage. I'm not used to eating such a fancy meal for breakfast, so I couldn't finish it all but it was very good. I noticed that there was only 1 review for this bed and breakfast before mine (while there are already quite a lot on tripadvisor), so i just wanted to put in my plug for this place!

Myself and my husband stayed here right after Christmas on the 26th. I can't wait to go back. This little gem of a place has everything you want. The inn keeper (forgive me I'm horrible at remembering name) is very welcoming and the breakfast in the morning can't be beat. Thank you for such a great stay.

I was hired for a job in Asheville NC, not too far from my base of operations so I took the job. When you are on a mission it is imperative to have a good rest and good meals and like all good ninja I did a little research. I wanted some privacy during my short stay so I went with a Bed & Breakfast instead of a Hotel. Once again my kin ninja senses didn't betray me on my selection. Northlodge on Oakland was a very nice experience. Gregg 1 (there are 2), the proprietor, received me with the respect a ninja such as myself deserves; he promptly showed me around the place, some of the amenities included a small fridge with refreshments, a microwave, a laptop with internet connection and printer, a large DVD library, some treats such as popcorn, chocolate chip cookies, coffee and teas are available all day. I was shown how to get access to the house via the front door which I used once, when I first got there, after that I just used the windows like usual (I'm a ninja, remember?) The room was cozy, welcoming and very clean. After a successful night at work I proceeded to my room, watched a movie and went to bed; did I mentioned that there were bedside chocolates? A big plus for me... might be my only weakness, silly me, I have no weaknesses. In the morning I was greeted by Greg 2 who prepared a wonderful three-course breakfast for their guests and what a delicious breakfast it was. We had baked pear sprinkled with cinnamon and topped with a little icing. I must admit, I had never had cooked pear before; I've definitely been missing out. Next was a bran type of muffin sprinkled with powdered sugar on top it was good but what I had been looking forward to was really the stuffed French toast with bananas, a side of fresh fruit and Virginia Cured Crisp Bacon! I was the only one who completely finished all three courses, yet again, I was the only ninja on the table so it's to be expected and yes, I can tell who is a ninja when wearing civilian clothes, was one of the last skills that my sensei taught me before passing away, not many ninja know this secret jutsu. Anyway, next time I take another job in Asheville I'll be staying here; probably in one of the larger rooms so I can practice my back flips before going out. out *poof!*
