I really like this place. Pizza is good and I love the Taos salad. Service is good and the dining area is clean and spacious. Mostly booths but I prefer a table. I wish they did better on the Ruben sandwiches as in more kraut and cheese.

Great pizza joint. Enjoyed all the food, Hawaiian pizza was amazing as was the chicken Alfredo pasta, the pasta was supposed to have broccoli but mine only came with three small pieces. Great place to eat.

The food seems like it got its flavor in factory. Definitely not fast or the the best pizza in town. Its a good place if everyone wants thier one pizza and not pay $20 a piece.

This is Montana's version of Fridays / Applebee's. Everything is good but not outstanding. The atmosphere is warm and inviting but not really unique or genuine. Great place for families and groups of kids that would not be welcomed in some of the other eateries. We used to eat here weekly but got tired of being treated as if it was our first visit. The place seems to cater to tourists more than anything but like I said everything is decent and enjoyable overall.

Worst pizza in Whitefish. I tried a sandwich last time and was not impressed. Not locally owned! A very touristy spot.

This is a local chain and we decided to check it out. It felt like a chain. But the food was good. The service was good. All in all it was adequate.

This was the worst dining experience I have ever had! With daughter & 3 children we waited for our Pizza, salad , & 3 peanut butter sandwiches for 45min ! After repeatedly asking where food was, we were told they were sorry but they had a big group in the back! Only explanation! No one came by to apologize, we would have understood! But the worst was the way the salads were being made. Our booth was situated that we could see all the work in a corner of the kitchen, as a blonde lady with her hair hanging down not up in net or even a pony tail poured a large plastic bag of lettuce into a large plastic container & proceeded reach into it up to her armpits mixing the ingredients without gloves!! Needless to say "I'm done with any McKenzie River Pizza!!

Very family-friendly. Casual bar food and pizza. My husband and I split a veggie pizza I thought it was good he thought it was excellent. We also shared several appetizers which were good --the chicken wings and lodge poles. Attentive waitstaff.

I loved the Willow Creek sandwich that I ordered without bread. My wife liked the Cobb Salad very much. She didn't care for the Raspberry Vinaigrette dressing so she swapped it for Ranch that she liked. Our server was excellent and nice.

we come here every time we are in whitefish. The staff are amazing and very accommodating as we are usually a large group who tend to be loud and excited. the pizza here is amazing. lots of interesting choices and the sizes are huge. Great beer selection from local breweries. we will always keep coming back as long as they keep having us!

Great casual place for pizza and sandwiches. Server very friendly and attentive. We had 2 large pizzas with each a different half. Everyone enjoyed their pizza and the dining experience.

Service was okay. And I liked that they gave a little cup of goldfish crackers to the kids when we sat down. The cowboy nachos were dry and the salsa was very mild. Too mild. The pesto chicken linguine was tasteless. The garlic cloves that were left in there over powered any seasoning. It looks nice, but no taste. Maybe their pizza is better?

Great place to bring the kids or even to go by yourself. Selection was good. I had a pizza with the standard crust. A bit doughy, but I enjoyed it. The toppings were quite flavorful. You can also order the thing crust. Service was attentive and friendly. This is a Montana chain, but has a nice feel to it. Nice warm wood interior and outdoorsy decor. Pricing is quite reasonable. It is also fairly large, so waiting should not be a problem.

Great budget food but... very very very slow service. I would not recommend based on slow service.

Somewhat "smallish" pizza, almost personal size. Cobb Salad and the Greek Salads are what we choose to eat there with an order of "Lodge Poles" a baked cheesey garlic dough, cut in half & then about 10-12 cuts to make dipping appetizers with marinara sauce.

Had a thin crust pizza. Sausage was good, really spicy. Has a decent beer selection. Our service was great, checked back at the right time. Surprising it was not very busy on a Saturday night. It isn't in my pizza hall of fame, but it is better than average.

Note: Any restaurant that has pizza in its name damn well better have great pizza, in my opinion. Hence, the one star. Our waitress's initial reception should have given me a clue: she had all the cheer of a proctology assistant. After I ate the food, our waitress's dour attitude made sense to me. Serving this horrible food to unsuspecting tourists would take it out of me, too. I think working here either requires you live on prozac or have no soul. This place obviously doesn't care one bit about repeat business. My daughter and I ordered 'thin crust' pizza. The crust was the absolute worst I have ever eaten, including pre-packaged ones in the bags at the grocery store. It tasted like a stale pita with a slight edge to contain the sauce--which tasted like tomato paste and spices. Under the sauce and greasy carpet of cheese were smouldering fresh tomato slices which would slide off onto my daughter's shirt. I ordered a salad which came with chicken slices on the top. When I told my waitress I was vegetarian, she offered to remove the chicken, but I told her that was not acceptable to me. The salad came back to me very quickly, making me think that the chicken was simply removed from the top of my salad. The waitress didn't make eye contact after that, making me think my hunch was right.

When in a pinch (and everywhere else is full) we end up going here and never have a meal that leaves us saying "wow this is the BEST!" It's pretty generic, does it's job as food to fill ya but isn't anything special.

Awesome pizza matched only by the fantastic and friendly staff. We had the spicy Hawaiian pizza with a couple of local microbrews - original crust. Would definitely go back again.

We went last night after a long drive in to town. We were served by a local name Cassie. She was wonderful and amused by the other review on Yelp that was negative on the artwork. I had the Hot Hawaiian pizza thin crust and my wife had the Cottonwood regular crust. Hawaiian was awesome and spicy, the Cottonwood was LOADED with full garlic cloves. I would recommend asking them to go easy on the garlic if you order the Cottonwood. The house blend red was a good wine and I had the River rotary local brew. Very good beer light and easy drinking. The location is good the music they played was 90's which was great and the staff was lots of fun.

Whitefish honestly provides a lacking and limited selection of different eateries, but this food haven cranks out handcrafted pies and slings out craft brews. Unfortunately, our rather tasty dinner was tainted by poor management--not poor service, but just little bits and pieces of disappointment. First and foremost, they accidentally placed our appetizer on the backburner behind a huge group of high schoolers. For their benefit, they just performed Les Mis--definitely a redeeming attribute in this story. In the realm of lawsuits and the like, we noticed a huge crack in a pint glass. This is definitely unacceptable at an institution where microbrews take precedent and patrons hold high priority for beer drinking. Lastly, our server, who catered to us humbly and warmly--despite so much chaos in the restaurant, had to run around to locate Parmesan, the artificial goodness that all patrons want to dust on their pies the moment they come out of the oven. Ingredients definitely err on high quality, but the dough boasted a very white glow, signifying not an undercooked base but just a lack of heating. Additionally, it had a bit more tug than I like. I will say that the veggie, what with the broccoli and zucchini, won me over, overshadowing the mediocre dough. I hope that our marred experience does not deter you from giving these guys a go; I would definitely return, but at this point in time, I cannot quite endorse it in terms of the overall meal. You just have to pay attention to every detail as an eatery.

Good food. Good atmosphere. Good prices. Good family place and a menu to please all---young and old. Thank goodness there's pizzas on the menu; you can't go wrong with kids and pizza! The Thai Salad is brilliant and shall be a fav! Add a cup of Chili, and it's a meal beyond compare.

Yeah, it's a chain, so you visitors won't be finding the "Montana experience" here. However, it has never failed to satisfy me with great food when I want something to eat in a low key setting. In a town who's, seemingly, sole purpose is to serve you alcohol, considering that it's wall to wall bars in Whitefish, it's a great alternative for those of you who are looking for a place to eat that has a family friendly environment. There are lot's of items to choose from on the menu and you won't go wrong ordering one of their pizzas or sandwiches. If you are gluten free, then you will be delighted to know that they offer GF pizza crust!

Just back from MT. this place was excellent, their thin crust pizza was so good we went back for more a day later. Husband and I shared a Greek Salad with a very good balsamic dressing to start and then had both the Athenian Pizza one day and the Veggie Pizza the next day. We do like the thin crispy crusts so do not know about the others but YUM! Will definately go back.

Good service but not so good food. Ordered a BBQ chicken pizza. Over cooked, hardly any chicken and no taste. Took so long to get it didn't have time to send it back.

Nice location and friendly waitress. We actually wanted to eat next door but the wait was over 45 minutes so we just decided to come here instead. Ordered the humble pie pizza which was a special for a limited time. Had 4 types of cheeses and spinach on their thin crust. The cheeses weren't melted enough so after my first slice, I asked the waitress to take it back to to bake it a little more. Loved 3 of the 4 cheeses, didn't like the ricotta cuz it was really bland and they were pretty generous with that topping. Reason I gave it 3 stars and not more was the crust was just really unexceptional. It tasted like they just tossed a bunch of flour and water together and forgot to add any salt or seasoning. There was absolutely no flavor whatsoever. Maybe if I had ordered their original crust it would have been better? My friend did enjoy her jerk chicken pizza though. Not too expensive for this particular pizza although their other specialties cost a bit more. I just wish the crust wasn't so disappointing. One of THE worse crusts I've ever tasted.

We had stopped at the Great Falls location last week and really enjoyed our pizza. So we decided to give it a try here in Whitefish. The food was just as yummie. We went on Monday in the late afternoon/early evening and the place was very quiet! We got great, friendly service and as I said, good food. The only thing we would have liked better, would be outdoor seating.

Pizza was good, large place for the big group we had in there. GF crust is NOT as good as Jersey Boys crust. I don't think its egg free but not 100%. MacKenzie should talk to Sweat No Wheat about their crust. We discovered it, found they were local with the bakery and tracked them down. If you are GF, try it and I think you will be obsessed. Other than that, we liked this place. Just need to consider other suppliers for there GF crust. When your GF, taste goes along way!

Discovered the MacKenzie River Pizza in Great Falls, MT while on a road trip vacation. My wife grabbed a menu and saw they had one in Whitefish, which was our next stop. We were meeting friends and knew we liked MacKenzie's so we met here. Pasta was again great, salads very good. Our friends, also on vacation, came up from Bozeman and had pizza at MacKenzie River Pizza there the night before. Go figure. They said the pizza was great. Will be stopping at MacKenzie River Pizza when presented with the opportunity.

MacKenzie River consistently has great pizza. The house salad with sliced pears is amazingly yummy- grapenuts and all. I love the casual, mountain decor, the friendly staff and the yummy food- all at a very reasonable price. It's a great place to go if you have kids too. Make sure to ask about taking some of the house dressing home with you. It's so good they sell it by the pint!

The chopped salad was awesome. There is a good selection of unique pizza's and we were really pleased. There are a variety of other options if you don't want pizza. We ordered take out, the service was good & did not take long for our order.

Lots of options for different types of pizza, including some more exotic ones. I like how they have normal and thin crust pizza. The pizzas were decent but the prices were very modest, considering the more upscale dining options that are around Whitefish. Sometimes, you just want pizza and beer! Usually I don't comment about the decor too much but I can't help it on this one. The decor is very modern and comfortable with the exception of 3 giant paintings that are not only out of place but also bad. Surely they could've picked better artwork to complement the tastefully done interior?

The service was excellent I must say. I don't remember who seated me but she was so sweet. The food was good, pizza was ok. But the dessert was a killer... good but too sweet. :-) Overall I love the service but the food can be a bit more refined.

Forgot to yelp before heading out after a day of skiing. Drove around and looked at menus to decide. Cool looking place, greeted and seated quickly. Pretty long wait for someone to show up at the table and they weren't busy at all. The atmosphere was cool enough, house salad is stupendous, and the pizza was ok but nothing to really slam or write home about. Took a star off for service, and another for ho-hum pizza. Should actually be a 3.5 star but I have to round down for the service.

I'm a fan of this place, but not because of the pizza. They have an awesome selection of beer and wines, I tried the Blue Moon Belgian White and it was great, also they had this amazing house salad with pears and grapenuts, and an outstanding dressing. The pizza gets a thumbs down...we had the cheese and pepperoni on the natural wheat dough and it was very average, nothing too special, but we do hear that their sandwiches are great, so maybe try that instead of the pizza.

After a day's worth of driving through Montana countryside, fortified only by Nature Valley granola bars, Planter's trail mix, and the occasional banana, I was delighted by my slices of MacKenzie River thin-crust veggie pizza featuring all my favorites--roasted mushrooms, broccoli, fresh tomatoes. I also devoured the house salad, a concoction of crisp lettuce, diced pears, shaved carrots, and, rather eclectically, Grape Nuts cereal, doused in a just-right house creamy vinaigrette.
