I have to give this place 5 stars for the Lemon Stuffed French Toast, though their other offerings certainly stand on their own. We've only eaten for breakfast, so I can't comment on their lunch or dinner offerings. In addition to the french toast mentioned above, we had a vege-burrito (forget the exact name). which was loaded with fresh vegetables, and offered a great counter-balance to the sheer sensory overload of the french toast. Speaking of the french toast - wow wow WOW. If you stop by for breakfast and have nothing else, make sure to try this. The abundance of flavors sent me into sensory overload as my brain tried to cope with the flavor tsunami coming it's way. All the french toast I eat in the future will have to up it's game, since there's a new bar to compare to.

A local treasure. No matter if it's breakfast or lunch (they do dinner seasonally too) save room for their amazing pies. The food is great!

Great breakfast! I had the pancakes but everything looked good. Don't miss the best breakfast spot in town. It may cost $2 more than other options but it's well worth it.

When we walked in we thought we had come through the back door. It was obviously an empty hallway at the back of the building with only wash rooms in sight. Turns out we did but a quick right through the glass door and we were greeted with a delicious smell and the chatter of happy customers. We walked right past the kitchen, which was open to the public I glanced in and saw a clean, bright and very busy area. Nice touch letting everyone see what's going on. The place was full. In fact, there was a family waiting ahead of us but one of the staff came over and took our name. We were sat quickly and our drink order was taken immediately. I had the cafe mocha. It was good but I like mine a little sweeter. They had an espresso machine and made a real one at least. I ordered the eggs benny with extra crispy hash browns and a side of bacon. That didn't seem like enough so I also ordered a three piece French toast to share with my daughter. The rest of the table had the Bighorn which was described as sort of a panscrambler with spicy sausage. My wife and son had two omelets, the Stump town and the Western. The french toast was thick, hot and fluffy. Delicious with a hint of cinnamon. It was really good and surely worth ordering again. The eggs Benedict was loaded with shaved ham and turned out to be really filling. I enjoyed this and would order it again as well. I asked for the hash browns to be done extra crispy and they were. Very crunchy and tasty. All the meals were very good. This is a great place for breakfast. You should try it.

If you have a big appetite then Loula's is the place for you!! my husband and I have to split plates most every time we dine here...the food is very good; unusual Specials; and again, big portions! A nice; friendly and efficient wait staff; we always wind up chatting with someone there....even on those busy, busy weekend mornings, the staff remains steady and pleasant. We love the pies, but since the new "owner" of the pie/bakery business took over about a year ago, we wonder where the crusts went??? The previous owner/baker was more adroit! but we still love this place. Go!

I love Loula's. The service is friendly and fast. The prices are reasonable. The lemon stuffed french toast is to die for. The eggs are always perfectly cooked. They can actually poach an egg here! I've eaten breakfast here five or six times now, and each time has been excellent.

All you out of towers need to go home and find a decent opinion! I am a local and came here a few weeks ago and had the Lemon stuffed French toast. Very good! My daughter came up from Cali and my wife told her to try. It was shit, they have cut the amount of filling by 70% and when we asked the server for more, she told us the chef said there was no more, at 9am in the morning! I asked for FF instead of hash browns and she said no! This place is over rated and the service is terrible! They just mail it in. do yourself a favor skip this place. JG PS- you don't say NO! To a customer.

Lunch consisted of the best BLT/Turkey Club ever, my partner had a berry salad that was incredible as well. We ended with an amazing gluten free/dairy free huckleberry and blackberry cobbler. The wait staff was excellent and country friendly. Will visit again.

Stopped into this little breakfast cafe while on vacation in Whitefish. The atmosphere was nice, open concept with lots of light (when its sunny). Fresh baked pies galore; but at 9am I did not try one. I had the burrito and it was good, nothing exceptional but average for a small town. All and all the price is well balanced for the quality of food, atmosphere and survice provided

Fantastic breakfast restaurant in Whitefish that 2nd only to Swift Creek. Nice open space, downstairs, in an old historic building. Great food and great staff. You need to have breakfast there!

Really enjoyed everything about the place. The breakfast was delicious, the pie excellent. It was busy the two times we went but the service was still good. I was told another place in town was better for breakfast but i didn't find that to be true. My In Laws liked it so much they went everyday of their stay (4 days) can't wait to go back and try the lemon stuffed French toast. It looked yummy!

Great place, cool and comfortable atmosphere, great photos all over the walls. Food was great. We had a western omelet, overflowing with ingredients, very good. Also had the days special which was a scramble with roasted red peppers, ham, mushroom and cheese. Sooooo good. Only thing I found lacking was the side breakfast potatoes, not much flavour. Great service to boot! Will definitely be back.

Amazing food. If you're in Whitefish, you must eat here. The lemon stuffed French toast isn't something I'd normally pick out to eat, but it was recommended, so I tried it. Wow. It was incredible. So incredible that I came back for it 3 more times in the next 4 days. And their bacon was incredible - perfect flavor, and truly the only place that's ever made my bacon extra crispy just the way I like it, without charring it to a crisp. Their pie is outstanding too. I had the cherry and rhubarb, and it was delicious; I had it for dessert, and for breakfast the next morning. The service was good, and the atmosphere inviting. My only complaint is that they "close" between 3-5 - you can order pie, but you can't get any food. I was pretty upset after driving 2 hours to get here at 4 pm, after not having any lunch, to find out I couldn't get food - frustrating to have to then drive somewhere else to eat. But back to the food, you shouldn't miss this place. Truly the perfect breakfast spot.

Great pie and more in a nice atmosphere. Only downside is they only serve breakfast until 2PM so we got lunch. Fries are great. Cobb Salad isn't cobbed but the ingredients are fresh and tasty! The portion sizes are plentiful. Mom said the Asian Chicken Salad wasn't great but she can be a bit picky at times.

On a recent trip to Whitefish Mountain, it was suggested that we give Loula's a try on our last morning in town. To be honest, I thought it'd be just another breakfast dive, but was oh so wrong. GREAT place for breakfast, but from the looks of the menu they've got a lot of options! Lots of varied dishes (give the burrito a try), with some amazing desserts. Definitely give this place a try when you're in Whitefish.

My wife and I went in for a late breakfast on Saturday. She had 2 giant pancakes and I had the 2nd street burrito. I uploaded a photo with a fork on the pancakes so you can get an idea of the scale of these monsters. The atmosphere is great and very homey. The list of pies is just silly. The services is good and you can walk by the kitchen on the way to the bathroom and see the kitchen in action. It is truly down home cooking at a great price.

I was having breakfast at Buffalo Cafe and a local fellow recommended we try Loula's pie, so we gave it a shot for dinner tonight. Great little place, service was very friendly and food was good and plentiful. We had the burger which was delish and the fish fry special was good as well. Oh, and the pie was fab as promised. There's street construction going on directly outside the door at the moment so you have to park on the next block and walk back, but it's worth it and the staff are most appreciative.

We had brunch here on a Saturday mid-morning, and although crowded we did not have to wait long for a table. Because of the reviews, I had the lemon stuffed french toast, and it was AMAZING! It border-lined on dessert for breakfast, but I was on vacation, so who cares? After several trips to the Kalispell area, we have found good restaurants are in short supply, so we came back the next day for an early breakfast, and we were pleased with all of our meals. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and the prices were reasonable.

This place was delicious food in large portions for a great price, located in a cozy historic building and a friendly staff. I would say this is a Whitefish MT must! I was hungry and looking for a big breakfast. This place didn't disappoint. The 20 minute wait was worth it. The staff were prompt and very friendly. Good portion sizes and very tasty. The only complaint was the coffee was not the best(by my standard) and the grilled shredded potatoes tasted a but like old oil from a well used grill. The coconut cream pie was to die for! I'll definitely be back and recommend it highly.

Thanks again Yelpers for the idea. I wouldn't have stumbled onto this on my own. Yummy, comfort food. I had the huevos, my wife the omelet special. Salsa and beans on huevos pretty runny, but they weren't shy on the spice so 7/10. Kids brekkie for $3.99 was great. Two minor concerns: the coffee was pretty tasteless. More of a 'Perkins' calibre. The staff were noticeably less than enthusiastic in serving a table with kids. Pretty good overall - worth a repeat visit.

The first time we visited Loula's was for dessert. WOW! Their pies are incredible. I grew up with my mom making lots of homemade pies. Loula's was as close as I've ever seen to a restaurant pie getting to the same level as my moms. I had the huckleberry mixed berry and my boyfriend had peanut butter pie. The huckleberry was a la mode which was the perfect combo. And BF probably could have ate a couple slices of peanut butter. The second visit here was for breakfast. I am a huge fan of breakfast and Loula's was one of the best. I had scrambled eggs, whole wheat toast, bacon and their house potatoes. Sounds pretty boring but the everything was top notch! I always ask for extra crispy bacon and Loula's did it with out burning it to a crisp. It was perfect and not overly salty. The house potatoes were my favorite, lots of flavors with herbs, salt and pepper. Coffee here is great too. We ended up purchasing an entire huckleberry pie to back home to Seattle with us!

Our regular Saturday morning breakfast place! Experienced wait staff, amazing homemade food made fresh from scratch, gluten-free choices, Coffee Traders coffee, local artwork and photographs, local produce and meats. Their pies are the best in the west according to numerous critics but you need to taste them yourself. A trip to Whitefish is not complete without breakfast at Loulas!

Having heard about their pies, we stopped by Loula's for dinner. I thought that I would go for the chicken pot pie but learned they were sold out. The waitress, quite friendly and attentive, suggested the chèvre stuffed chicken breast, and I thought, "why not?" Wow- for lack of a chicken pie I discovered greatness! The chicken breast was accompanied by black-eyed peas and Hopping John with chunks of sausage mixed in. The chicken itself was covered with spices sprinkled over a rich balsamic vinegar reduction, and when I cut it open, hot melted chèvre and cranberries oozed out like lava, blending with the peas, the hopping John and the balsamic sauce. It was amazing! We tried two slices of their dessert pies, the mixed berry and huckleberry-peach, and they were also very good. Their reputation for pie was well earned. Service was excellent, the wine was adequate, the ambience was O.K., after all, you're in the basement of the old Masonic temple and voices bounced off the walls and ceiling, but the food just blew us away.

Loula's is a restaurant in Whitefish downtown to get your scrumptious breakfast/lunch fix! I had no idea this place was so popular as I only found the name of the restaurant somewhere on a paper I had a hold of...so I was very surprised that upon entering the door and walking down to the basement where Loula's was located, I was greeted by a large breakfast/brunch crowd (locals and tourists) who seemed to know how Loula's is the place to be for breakfast/lunch! I like that their breakfast portion is big but yet still affordable. My SO had their Chubby Yuppie which came scramble egg with veggies, bacons, home fries and rye toast (my SO really like their rye toast!!) (less than $10) and I had just one biscuit and gravy ($4). We also each ordered bottomless sodas and ordered key lime pie with huckleberry compote sauce to share (based on a recommendation from our host who answered key lime pie with huckleberry sauce when we asked what her favorite pie here was) and the pie tasted wonderful! The crust was still crunchy and the huckleberry sauce together with the key lime custard balanced the sour and sweet tastes out really nicely. The bill was around $23 without tips, so it was definitely a good, fulfilling breakfast with good taste (and healthy for our wallet, too)! Highly recommended if you are looking for a great place with good crowd/energy to have your brunch/breakfast while in Whitefish downtown!

When asking around for the best place for fresh, good food in Whitefish, THIS was the place recommended the most. Sure enough, it delivered that and more. Service was good, too. I went twice in a two-day stay. I had a big salad each time. The ingredients were fresh, and the combinations interesting and delicious. I also like that the dressing was served on the side. And, oh my, THE PIE!!

We heard all about the delicious pies at this cafe, and they did not disappoint. We had slices of raspberry peach, huckleberry berry mix, and chocolate cream pie. All were excellent. The perfect amount of sweetness without being overpowering. I will definitely have another slice, or a whole pie, next time I'm in Whitefish.

Came here for breakfast. As I was told it's a local favorite with amazing huckleberry pie! I was definitely blown away by my experience. The wait staff was helpful and friendly. Was greeted and seated as soon as I walked in. I ordered the lemon stuffed French toast(my mouth is watering again as I'm recalling the dish), eggs Benedict with white truffle oil, and huckleberry pie. The French toast was delightful! You simply have to try it. Yolk on the Benedict was prepared so well it tasted like candy! Not to mention the hint of truffle oil just made the already amazing dish even more rich. Was so stuffed at the end of the meal I had to take the pie to go. Heated it up the next day and it was still so amazing I could only imagine how good it must have tasted fresh! I would honestly visit Whitefish again just for this superb restaurant again. Thank you for your hospitality and heart warming food and service, Loula!

Great Reuben sandwich with the real, thick slices of corned beef. The prime rib melt and waffle fries also got a thumbs up. Add in the fantastic huckleberry pie for dessert and it was a great lunch.

came here for breakfast and the place is always busy. six of us crammed around a small 4 person table and the server didn't seem to mind. I ordered the French toast with a fruit cup side. The fruit cup was disappointing only have grapes and melons in it. the French toast was very good and filling. would like to try this place again for dinner as everyone raves about it.

Wow - this place was a very pleasant surprise and we enjoyed it so much that we ate here three times. The coconut creme and key lime pie are literally perfect and are to die for. The staff provided great service and were pretty cool people in general. The atmosphere was great as the building is historic. Don't miss eating here while you are in whitefish

Wow, that is some good pie. I know I am echoing every single other review but good God, do not miss this pie even if you're so full it's to go for later (which is what we did). I got the raspberry/peach and wow, just wow! I warmed mine and had it with vanilla ice cream and vowed that I would be back for more. On the breakfast note: I ordered a scramble thing, which was very good, the wheat toast was to-die-for, but the breakfast potatoes were extraordinarily disappointing...sad I know. Very greasy and absolutely no seasoning on them besides some visible thyme. My SO was with me and agreed: total flop on breakfast potatoes, something so simple. But otherwise we will be back and will opt for the hash browns and give those a try as we both liked our 'main course.' Will also want to try lunch as the sandwiches and fries that went by looked really good! Service was excellent and friendly which is what I go back to restaurants for! UPDATE: Returned Saturday around 11:00 am. Perfect timing as it was quiet between breakfast and lunch. I ended up ordering their Club sandwich and OH MY GOSH this is the best club sandwich I have ever had! Not kidding! SO agreed it was to-die-for. Turkey was fresh, bread was yummy and toasted, bacon was thick and tasty.. yum yum yum. He also had the hash browns this time and happy to report that they were excellent. Our service was pretty sketchy - apathetic, no refills on coffee and she gave me the wrong type of pie when we ordered it to-go. Sad. Still love Loula's!

Best....pies.....ever. Tried 5 different slices in 2 days. All of them were so good! Can't go wrong with the huckleberry ones. But the last slice I had was a key lime pie with huckleberry jam on top....amazing! And the staff are the friendliest people! Wish they had a Loula's in San Francisco!

My wife and I heard of the great food at Loula's and let me tell you we were not disappointed. We ended up coming here 3 times for breakfast/lunch during our week vacation. Great atmosphere. Parking can be a little tricky but parking on side streets and walking worked for us. Great art on the walls and friendly staff. Be prepared for a short wait as this place gets busy but is well worth it. I had the Bighorn with spicy sausage and it was a TON of food. My wife had pancakes which were the size of the plate. She later had French toast with fresh huckleberries. Finally save room for the pie. It is amazing! A++ in my book. What are you waiting for? Get going to Loula's!

We went here based on the reviews, and we were not let down. The lemon french toast was awesome, pretty much a dessert! The Stumptown omelette was also delicious. Service was good (and friendly) for being busy, only waited about 2 minutes, it was about 11:30AM on Friday. Had great looking pies and baked goods too.

This place is a little piece of heaven!!! Depending on the time, when you walk in you can smell fresh pies being made. Yum!! We ate here for breakfast and it was delicious! The staff is incredibly friendly, nice and helpful! The prices are reasonable and the service is fast! I would recommend this place to anyone!

Went this morning for the first time since moving away 8 years ago. Still great service and amazing food. Highly recommended!

Went here for lunch. It is in a great old building, the original Mesonic Temple. Has a ramp entrance on the side street. I did not enjoy my lunch selection... Turkey with cream cheese and huckleberry sauce. I chose. The multigrain bread and it was dry. My friend has the veggie burrito, which was huge. He liked it a lot. The service as good. Dessert is all about pie. If you like lie, this is your place.

I recently ordered a pie for my mother's 70th birthday. Her favorite pie ever from Loulas. Apple praline while I felt 23.00 plus tax is pretty expensive for a small pie, it was a special occasion so I went ahead and got it. Although the flavor was good it was way under baked and we almost had to use a knife to cut the apples. It was pretty upsetting especially since it was a surprise for her birthday. She didn't complain and was grateful but when I brought it up she said she didn't want to say anything but it was also disappointing to her since she has had that pie for years without that ever happening. Good thing they were so friendly or I might question returning.

Not sure why it's a local favorite. Food is not "stellar". And the few times I've been there, it's been slow service. And sometimes just rude. I would choose other places before this one.

So glad we came to Loula's for brunch! Great breakfast burrito, eggs Benedict was excellent, and, of course the lemon stuffed French toast-deLISH! If you're looking for a great local breakfast spot (and you're hungry!), Loula's is a must! Oh, and service was great, too. Everyone we interacted with was sweet, and our server was bubbly and put me in a good mood. :)

Place was unorganized and by the time they got their act together, they provided a tiny table after a 20 minute wait. Food looked good from a distance, we decided to not wait and just leave, made more sense.

If you're in Whitefish you must stop here for a meal! On our recent visit to Whitefish we visited Loula's on 3 different occasions. Service was amazing 2/3 times. One time it wasn't really that good, the waitress just seemed distracted/uninterested. 1. Breakfast - I loved my benedict and it came with a lot of food. Our table also had a special egg dish that was tasty but a small portion. And the french toast was abundant and delicious. 2. Afternoon snack - We went for pie and coffee. We couldn't fit it after a full meal so we made a special visit just for the pie. Huckleberry peach, YUM!! 3. Lunch - I forget what everyone had but we were all really satisfied. I was especially happy with my Loula's Turkey Sandwich.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner while on vacation here. Food was great and reasonably priced. Server was very friendly and helpful with selections. They have wide range of pies. I would recommend this to anyone.

So delicious. Down home goodness and wonderful homemade taste. The pies are amazing! I'll be coming to this place again.

Had both dinner and breakfast at Loula's during our recent visit to Whitefish. First, dinner: calamari was only fair - not crispy enough and the sauce was unimpressive. Was excited about the fried chicken because the waitress hyped it up; it was ok but I was second guessing with my selection shortly after trying it. Next, breakfast: the breakfast experience was better than dinner, but it did not seem as good as my visit from the previous year. Would try Loula's again for breakfast, but so many great dinner choices may lead me elsewhere in the evenings.

Loula's is a perfectly acceptable breakfast place. Coming from the East side of Portland, Oregon, where breakfast is a religion, my breakfast standards are very high. The lemon-stuffed French toast was excellent. The potato-based dish we also shared was just standard. The best part about Loula's is that it's one of only two restaurants open at 7am in whitefish. So if you're arriving on the eastbound train (which gets in super-early in the morning), you should head over right at 7!

Get breakfast and pie. Amazing, fresh, homemade and done with love. It shows. Its all good!

Delicious breakfast! The wait after our order was a little long. Huge portion sizes. We are FULL! And ready for an adventuresome day. They stop serving pancakes at 11. Pancakes are HUGE, bigger than your head, a single is plenty! Worth the stop.

Best pie ever! We went for brunch - food and service was great. but, the pie was amazing!

Cute little breakfast place in Whitefish. I tried the stuffed french toast, and it was to die for! It was stuffed with a delightful lemon curd and topped with a tangy berry sauce. The service was great, and the food was delicious - nothing more I would have asked for.

We ate here twice while we were in Whitefish, and were very impressed both times. Our server was wonderful, and the food was delicious. The first dinner we had here was because the place had been recommended to us by the owner and friends of the local yarn shop. The next day we drove over Going to the Sun Highway, and came back again for dinner. Both meals that we had were wonderful; we split a dinner each time, and there was plenty of food for both us us. We loved the ambiance, the photos on the wall, and the food. The first night we split the Southern Fried Chicken, which was crispy and tender. The next night we split the pasta primavera, which was wonderful! The restrooms were clean as a whistle which I always appreciate. Each time we ate there we were tired from our long drives, but the delicious food and friendly service revived and delighted us. We were so glad we came here to eat!

Loula's is thee breakfast spot! Everything on the menu is prime but trust me, their Eggs Benedict is where it's at. They have the best eggs benny I've tried, ever! Also, their dinner is amazing as well, though not as well known. Servers are very friendly and their night cooks, who I believe go by the names of CJ and Will, are tall, buff, and handsome.

This was an excellent breakfast place, the best I have ever been to. They have a wide range available, most are subtle twists on regular breakfast foods. I highly recommend the avocado omelet thing (sorry, can't remember the name). The first time we went the waitress was excellent, the second time was sort of average. The food is very good though and for a tourist town it was affordable. Note that you may have to wait 15-20 minutes to get in at certain prime times so not good if you are in a big rush.

On our second trip to Montana, we went to Loula's twice for breakfast. In both cases, the service was prompt and the food was good. A demerit though for not having maple syrup for the pancakes. My wife and I prefer REAL syrup, not the fake stuff. Maple syrup as an option is desirable, even if we have to pay more for it.
(5)
Annabelle S.
Yay for the HUCKLEBERRY/RASPBERRY PIE with vanilla ice cream! It was TO DIE FOR! All the pies are fresh, warm, and delicious. For lunch, I had the grilled cheese with french fries which were amazing. The staff was friendly and courteous and I will definitely return on my next trip to Whitefish!

Great breakfast place to get you filled up before you go skiing. Breakfast is served until 2 :-) but pancakes only until 11 :-( The Bread Pudding is amazing. It is moist, has a yummy caramel sauce and they warm it up for you. The Bighorn is fantastic for breakfast or brunch. Ask for a side of sausage gravy to go with it!! Loula's is a must try in Whitefish.

The breakfast was fantastic. One if the best Eggs Benedict and Second street burrito . Lori was a great server.

I'm not sure I understand the hoopla about Loula's. This is more of a two and a half star rating. My husband and I ate lunch there and we found the food to be overly rich and greasy. And this is coming from someone who likes rich food. In fairness, we didn't try the desserts and I know they're famous for their desserts.

Great breakfast/brunch fare, but expect a wait. There may be other breakfast restaurants, but this is clearly a favorite. Everything was perfectly prepared and tasted great. Our table had the eggs benedict, lemon french toast, mountain high scramble, kids pancakes (w/bacon & eggs), and gluten free french toast. Yum!

We went to Loula's on a locals recommendation. We were pretty happy that we did. When you first walk in, you can't help but notice all of the amazing local art hanging on the walls. Second thing you notice is the amazing pies they have on display!! The menu was pretty simple and straightforward. I opted for the single biscuit and sausage gravy with a side of house potatoes. Very good and the perfect portion!! My husband ordered the Montana burrito. It was decent. It was stuffed to the brim with beef and beans. It was odd because it was served with a salad over the top of the burrito....he thought it was ok, but probably wouldn't order it again. Overall, our food was good and the server was attentive and visited our table often. I would go back.

Their chx strip with salad are super crunchy on the outside & juicy inside... just how I like it.... yummm

If you like pie that tastes store bought...DON'T GO IN. For reals, their pie is outta this world. Like I am 99% sure it could be used as currency in some countries. Their chocolate pie is amazing! Only downside: I have never been able to try the peanut butter cream one.
(5)
Nick S.
Loula's is great! You don't need to order anything other than pie, we like huckleberry peach but they are all good. They use quality ingredients, no excess sugar or crumble tops, they use butter, tapioca and loads of fresh fruit. My wife has stopped baking pies (much to my chagrin) because now she has a place she can finally buy them that are comparable. Call and order a whole pie for pickup, go ahead, do it, you won't regret it. Fine, if you don't just get the pie your best off with comfort food items here, that is what they do best (besides pie). Salads are ok, but cheesy, potatoey, meaty things are best here. Don't forget that they are open for dinner Thurs-Sun and often it is not that crowded

This is my favorite place for lunch. What is nice is that you can get breakfast almost all day! The BLT is fantastic. My favorite salad is Marylou's salad with grilled chicken. My one bugaboo is that is can be noisy in there because of the high ceiling and acoustics (the building is an old, historic Masonic Temple). The french toast is to die for. And if all you want is coffee and dessert, you've come to the right place. Terrific selection of homemade pies! It's also fun looking at the art that hangs on the walls, all from local artists.

Great breakfast joint. Went here two mornings in a row while on vacation. Pancakes are so good but they are HUGE. Seriously. They don't even fit on the plate..so trust your server when she says, "you probably only want to order one." Coffee was good. Ambiance was great - really cute, and they have beautiful scenic photographs on the wall. Staff was very friendly.

Loula's left our lunchtime party of four quite stuffed and satisfied! Don't be dismayed by the stairs at the front entrance, there is a wheelchair accessible door at the side entrance, just go down the hill a little ways (it's actually right by the accessible parking spot on that street). We were quickly seated, and started pouring over the menu. I chose the Asian Chicken Salad, which I loved. The poppy seed vinaigrette made me want to figure out how to copy the recipe (even my dressing-hating companion liked it). You'll definitely get your daily allotment of fiber and vegetables if you eat this salad! Two others chose the burrito, which looked very good, but I didn't sample. The breakfast burrito looked pretty tasty as well. We were referred to Loula's by a local, and as far as I could tell, there was a mix of locals and tourists there. I look forward to trying their breakfasts and dinners (pot pie? Yes please!).

Came here on an early weekday morning before the rush around 10am. Pros: -good food with fresh looking ingredients -good service Cons: -higher end pricing for breakfast - very busy ( but that's a good sign for everybody else) I had the stumptown(?) omelette and a half order of lemon stuffed French toast. Both looked a lot better than they tasted but that's just how nice the presentation was. Solid option for breakfast in town.

With a great downtown location and great food, this is a good bet for breakfast in Whitefish. We were visiting from out of town and this was an easy three block walk from our hotel. The menu looked good so we tried it. The restaurant is in the basement, but has a very open feel, there's lots of local art on the walls and the waitstaff is friendly. The menu has lots of options and the two meals that we ordered were both excellent!! The portions were good, and the food tasted great. We ordered pie for dessert - they have many pies to choose from. The pie was good, but not great. The crust is not as flaky as I'd like, but it was not bad. Other than the pie crust everything was perfect. Highly recommended for breakfast.

I totally understand why this place is a local favorite. The lemon stuffed French roast was spectacular and the eggs Benedict were delicious. (One tip, they have cholula, you just have to ask.) the service was exceptionally good despite the dining room being packed on a Tuesday morning. And the pie list? Key lime pie with huckleberry sauce? Heaven.

We ate breakfast here on a busy Friday morning. Loula's, which is located in the basement of the old stone mason's building, is a cute little cafe/diner that carried the traditional breakfast fair you can expect from a breakfast specialty restaurant. Our waiter was super friendly, Brent, I think his name was. My husband and I both had the Ski Bum special and there was tons of food and it was priced reasonably. The coffee at Loula's was the best! The only reason this place isn't getting 5 stars has something to do with the overall "feel" of the restaurant. Since it is in a basement the windows and natural light is limited. The whole place is painted yellow and I guess it is meant to have a cheery feeling, but honestly it just looks kinda cheap. There is some really tacky art on the walls too. I think this place could have it all with a little touch-ups in all the right places.

This place is worth every rave review they have received, and absolutely worth the time you will wait to get a table. My husband and I had a late breakfast there on 9/2/13. I had the eggs Benedict (traditional) and my husband had the breakfast patty melt. We also shared a side order of lemon stuffed French toast. I cannot say enough about how delicious that French toast was. Everyone needs to try it - without exception. The eggs Benedict with truffle oil was also fantastic. Neither my husband or I had a bad bite during our meal. We loved Loula's. This is a must try restaurant for anyone visiting Whitefish!

Warm, friendly, local charm, and good food. Didn't try anything special here. Known for delicious, fresh-baked pie, Loula's gets this tourist's passing grades on everyday things. They're sure to excel on the rest of the menu.

The lemon French toast is amazing! I read about it on Yelp and it lived up to its billing. The service was friendly and efficient.

In need of breakfast? Come here. It's worth the drive if you're in Kalispell, Coram or West Glacier. The food is incredible. The lemon stuffed French toast was heavenly. Or try the Bighorn with house spuds, grilled vegetables, cheese and eggs. Also, add the sausage to the Bighorn because it absolutely makes the dish. We also tried their huckleberry-peach coffee cake which was just the right blend of moist, sweet goodness. The space is airy and light with warm yellow walls and high ceilings and plenty of natural light. It wasn't overly loud but also a great place to take kids as it is very laid back. The service was quick and friendly.

If you're in Whitefish and like breakfast, you have to check out Loula's. The menu was standard, but the food was great! Huge portions and walls covered in local art made this a great stop for breakfast.
(5)

I love Loula's, because its consistently very good. A really good value for the money. They serve the best brunch in Whitefish as far as I'm concerned. There are great options for kids, vegetarians, great egg dishes as well as pancakes and some very unique french toast. Also a great place to get a slice if pie if you are so inclined. I like Loula's better for brunch/breakfast than lunch, but their lunch is good too. Can be pretty busy on weekend mornings, you will have to wait for a table at times.

If I lived here, I would be obese from eating here so much. Amazing breakfast and lunch. Would love to try dinner and dessert. Next time we visit we will definitely be back.

Best meal in Montana. Located in town of Whitefish. Reminds me of Boulder, CO. Kinda hippy and yuppie. Came to Loula's for brunch. Eggs Benedict was amazing served with super crispy hash browns. Also ordered one Huckleberry Banana Pancake which was a special. It was okay. Batter not as light as I hoped, but tasty. Sis had the Lemon Cream Stuffed French Toast served with homemade Raspberry Jam. Must have been at least three inches thick. Friend had one of the omelettes. Every dish looked great, but only ate my own because portions are huge. Service was casual and friendly. Did not have room for pie which is one of their specialties. But they looked amazing.

Some of the best Down Home Cooked Food anywhere. Ever. The Eggs Benedict is my fav, but anything with the home potatoes is great! Order away, cuz you'll love the food.

Our friends, who are experienced locals, said this was a must-visit while we were in town. They didn't steer us wrong! I had the Loulas Turkey Sandwich (has jalapeño huckleberry chutney and cream cheese) and it was ohhhh-soooo-gooood! Although they had gluten-free bread available, I am usually completely grain-free so they served it all disassembled for me on a bed of lettuce. It really was great and they were very nice about my odd request. My friend ate it as an actual sandwich and loved his, so it is good when ordered straight as the kitchen usually makes it. My hubby kept trying to steal my chutney because he said that it was good on his burger so I made him get an extra side of it (I was not sharing!). Even though I'm usually grain-free, I splurged on the pie. I tasted both the huckleberry-cherry and the huckleberry-mixed berry. Both were incredible. We took 2 pies to go and ate them for both dessert and breakfast over the next few days :) definitely save room for dessert.

Had the best time at Loulas. We gorged ourselves and were stuffed. The portions are big, no one goes hungry at Loulas. My only wish was that I could of come back for the morning breakfast fare. I hear it is to die for. Really nice service and definitely the best local eating place in Whitefish, MT.

Bohemian Breakfast ! Stop to take in the eclectic ambiance, the bustle of staff, and the smile of patrons as they take bite after bite. Lemon stuffed French toast is a staple, to go Huckleberry Pie was as well. What a great way to start the day. Just out me in a good mood.

Great place for breakfast, if you ask local people for suggestion of breakfast, 80% of them will mention Loula's. So you know it is famous locally. I tried the dinner too, the steak is very tasty, and it is local beef, if you are not from MT, you definitely wanna try this. And do not forget the Huckleberry Pie, with ice cream, great dessert.

Sweet waitress, okay for diner food but way too expensive. Comfy yet uninspiring atmosphere. Perhaps one should try breakfast. Disappointing dinner

Yummy!! Had a late breakfast after a beautiful hike at Glacier National Park! Plenty of good food and the staff is very friendly! A very busy place ... Sneak a seat at the counter!

First time here and I was pleasantly surprised. Had the veggie pasta dish and I would definitely return again. The whole family loved the food.

The BigHorn - best breakfast I've ever had in my life. The servers are always very friendly and I love all of the local artwork on the walls. I eat here more than I should!

The pancakes are enormous - and delicious! My son had the best meal though with the stuffed French toast. Decadent!

Great local breakfast and lunch restaurant. Super staff and prompt delivery. It's popularity is the only reason it is not a five star; you will wait a while for a table for four.

Enjoyed breakfast here. You definitely get your money's worth. Service is really good and the food is great.

Ed K.

Mandie H.
(5)
Don Z.

Yum!

Larayna C.

(5)
Henry R.

Hands down my favorite! Eggs Benedict, grits, the house potatoes..... Never a bad meal here. Sherry M Reecia'Salon

(4)
Kristin F.
Delicious! Went there a few times during our vacation and never had a bad meal. Save room for pie. The best one was huckleberry peach pie.
(5)
Jonathon S.

(4)
Kristi M.
(5)

Warm, friendly, local charm, and good food. Didn't try anything special here. Known for delicious, fresh-baked pie, Loula's gets this tourist's passing grades on everyday things. They're sure to excel on the rest of the menu.

(5)Sammy G.
A local treasure. No matter if it's breakfast or lunch (they do dinner seasonally too) save room for their amazing pies. The food is great!
(5)Jazmin H.
Great breakfast! I had the pancakes but everything looked good. Don't miss the best breakfast spot in town. It may cost $2 more than other options but it's well worth it.
(5)Mark S.

Go!
(4)Eileen O.
Best pie ever! We went for brunch - food and service was great. but, the pie was amazing!
(4)TJ H.
I love Loula's. The service is friendly and fast. The prices are reasonable. The lemon stuffed french toast is to die for. The eggs are always perfectly cooked. They can actually poach an egg here! I've eaten breakfast here five or six times now, and each time has been excellent.
(5)Jay G.
(1)Jerry R.
Lunch consisted of the best BLT/Turkey Club ever, my partner had a berry salad that was incredible as well. We ended with an amazing gluten free/dairy free huckleberry and blackberry cobbler. The wait staff was excellent and country friendly. Will visit again.
(5)Stephanie A.
(3)Jeff V.
Fantastic breakfast restaurant in Whitefish that 2nd only to Swift Creek. Nice open space, downstairs, in an old historic building. Great food and great staff. You need to have breakfast there!
(4)Carren R.
(5)MB H.
The lemon French toast is amazing! I read about it on Yelp and it lived up to its billing. The service was friendly and efficient.
(5)Mikey W.

(5)Jazmin H.
Great breakfast! I had the pancakes but everything looked good. Don't miss the best breakfast spot in town. It may cost $2 more than other options but it's well worth it.

Go!
(4)Aviv G.

(4)Vicki L.
Great service, awesome homemade salsa and pies; creative breakfast dishes.

(4)Leslie F.
This place was delicious food in large portions for a great price, located in a cozy historic building and a friendly staff. I would say this is a Whitefish MT must! Just not for dinner, this is more of a breakfast/brunch place. Dinner was slightly disappointing. There's plenty of better dinner options in Whitefish.
(4)Nick B.
The lemon stuffed French Toast is insanely good. The burrito was also great.
(5)Abby M.
Great brunch. Yummy and fresh sandwiches, and cheap, but wholesome kid's meals. A great find! Thanks yelpers.
(5)Ivory W.
Great breakfast! I had a special of a bacon, jalapeno cheddar grit cake and my husband had Huevos rancheros. Both were very satisfying portions for hungry skiers. Service was quick and friendly.
(4)Nick C.
Very good breakfast. The truffle oil in the eggs benedict was genius. Grits were creamy. Coffee could be stronger, but it had a good flavor.

Omg...effing incredible huckleberry pie. Bought a whole one.

While on vacation in Whitefish we found Loula's. We don't typically go to the same place, but dined there three straight days. After coming home ll think about their yummy food. Great pancakes and eggs and french toast. Friendly service and fair prices. What more can you ask for?
(5)Pat G.
(4)Moo M.
(3)Victoria B.
It's really good food (been for lunch two days) - I thought it was a little pricey (a hot sandwich and small salad, $9) but the food is fresh and the service very friendly.

Went for a late breakfast. Love the food and the service. Try the huckleberry pancakes, there delicious.

Excellent food in a charming place. We went there for weekday brunch--some had lunch and others had breakfast. After much sampling, we all concluded that every offering was quite delicious. Beware of the large portions!

(5)Federico S.
stopped to taste their famous huckleberry pie, it was good but nothing to die for. best berry pie in montana so far is from missoula farmers market
(3)Timothy K.

(4)Helen B.
Awesome place! Outstanding service. Best breakfast I've had in a long time Going back again before leaving town. A winner!
(5)Sherry T.
(4)Candace H.
Chicken pot pie, huckleberry pie were great. Stuffed salmon good. Kayla was wonderful.
(5)Jessica N.
(5)Ben L.
(5)Barb S.
Great Reuben sandwich with the real, thick slices of corned beef. The prime rib melt and waffle fries also got a thumbs up. Add in the fantastic huckleberry pie for dessert and it was a great lunch.
(5)Kerrie F.
Back again in May/June and just love it. Took home a slice of Huckleberry pie and savored it after dinner. The grits are AMAZING will want those again and miss them when in Colorado...Make sure you check the specials menu board before ordering, there are some tasty options.
(5)George A.
In the area a few days visiting Glacier NP. Reviews were great so I gave it a try. The lemon french toast is damn amazing! Pancakes are ginormous!! Everything was great. I'd love to bring this place home with me.
(5)Charles W.
Coffee was the best, the lemon French Toast was sublime, the Ski Bum breakfast was tasty, bacon perfectly cooked & OJ freshly squeezed
(5)Amanda N.
came here for breakfast and the place is always busy. six of us crammed around a small 4 person table and the server didn't seem to mind. I ordered the French toast with a fruit cup side. The fruit cup was disappointing only have grapes and melons in it. the French toast was very good and filling. would like to try this place again for dinner as everyone raves about it.
(4)Joan G.
Sweet waitress, okay for diner food but way too expensive. Comfy yet uninspiring atmosphere. Perhaps one should try breakfast. Disappointing dinner
(3)Bonnie D.
Yummy!! Had a late breakfast after a beautiful hike at Glacier National Park! Plenty of good food and the staff is very friendly! A very busy place ... Sneak a seat at the counter!
(5)Becca L.
(5)Travis S.
First time here and I was pleasantly surprised. Had the veggie pasta dish and I would definitely return again. The whole family loved the food.
(5)SRose W.
(4)Andrew M.
(5)Luke M.
(5)Cara L.
The BigHorn - best breakfast I've ever had in my life. The servers are always very friendly and I love all of the local artwork on the walls. I eat here more than I should!
(5)Shannon A.
The pancakes are enormous - and delicious! My son had the best meal though with the stuffed French toast. Decadent!
(5)Gary K.
Great local breakfast and lunch restaurant. Super staff and prompt delivery. It's popularity is the only reason it is not a five star; you will wait a while for a table for four.
(4)Jeff F.
(4)Jae H.
(5)Philip D.
Went this morning for the first time since moving away 8 years ago. Still great service and amazing food. Highly recommended!
(5)Beth S.
(3)Kimberly B.
(3)Amy H.
Not sure why it's a local favorite. Food is not "stellar". And the few times I've been there, it's been slow service. And sometimes just rude. I would choose other places before this one.
(1)EILEEN O.
Great food and AMAZING PIE as well as great service.
(4)Meagan R.
(5)Jorge M.
Place was unorganized and by the time they got their act together, they provided a tiny table after a 20 minute wait. Food looked good from a distance, we decided to not wait and just leave, made more sense.
(1)Kiki L.
(5)Barry S.
My wife and I stopped in for dinner while on vacation here. Food was great and reasonably priced. Server was very friendly and helpful with selections. They have wide range of pies. I would recommend this to anyone.
(5)Mary B.
So delicious. Down home goodness and wonderful homemade taste. The pies are amazing! I'll be coming to this place again.
(4)J D.
(3)Troy P.
(3)John R.
Get breakfast and pie. Amazing, fresh, homemade and done with love. It shows. Its all good!
(5)Kim S.
Delicious breakfast! The wait after our order was a little long. Huge portion sizes. We are FULL! And ready for an adventuresome day. They stop serving pancakes at 11. Pancakes are HUGE, bigger than your head, a single is plenty! Worth the stop.
(4)Eileen O.
Best pie ever! We went for brunch - food and service was great. but, the pie was amazing!
(4)Sarah W.
Cute little breakfast place in Whitefish. I tried the stuffed french toast, and it was to die for! It was stuffed with a delightful lemon curd and topped with a tangy berry sauce. The service was great, and the food was delicious - nothing more I would have asked for.
(5)Mokihana W.

Great pies and food. Safronour our server knew her stuff! Coming here again for breakfast tomorrow.
(4)Kenre E.
(4)Becky D.
Enjoyed breakfast here. You definitely get your money's worth. Service is really good and the food is great.
(4)Thomas T.
(5)Ed K.
(5)Annabelle S.
(5)Mandie H.
(5)Don Z.
The breakfast was fantastic. One if the best Eggs Benedict and Second street burrito . Lori was a great server.
(5)Denise W.
(3)Susan W.
Yum!
(5)Larayna C.
(4)Michelle V.
Their chx strip with salad are super crunchy on the outside & juicy inside... just how I like it.... yummm
(5)Whitney B.
If you like pie that tastes store bought...DON'T GO IN. For reals, their pie is outta this world. Like I am 99% sure it could be used as currency in some countries. Their chocolate pie is amazing! Only downside: I have never been able to try the peanut butter cream one.
(5)Nick S.
(4)Adriene C.
(4)Gayle M.
Had the prime rib sandwich for lunch. It was delicious. Meat tender and fresh bun. Very tasty.
(4)Paige J.
(4)Julie G.
(4)Andy L.
(4)Eric L.
(4)Jonathon S.
Heaven.
(5)Stephanie P.
(4)Kristi M.
(5)David S.
Warm, friendly, local charm, and good food. Didn't try anything special here. Known for delicious, fresh-baked pie, Loula's gets this tourist's passing grades on everyday things. They're sure to excel on the rest of the menu.
(4)TJ H.
I love Loula's. The service is friendly and fast. The prices are reasonable. The lemon stuffed french toast is to die for. The eggs are always perfectly cooked. They can actually poach an egg here! I've eaten breakfast here five or six times now, and each time has been excellent.
(5)Jay G.
(3)MB H.
The lemon French toast is amazing! I read about it on Yelp and it lived up to its billing. The service was friendly and efficient.
(5)Mikey W.
(4)Beth W.
(5)Alyssa A.
(5)Lucas W.
If you're in Whitefish and like breakfast, you have to check out Loula's. The menu was standard, but the food was great! Huge portions and walls covered in local art made this a great stop for breakfast.
(5)Henry R.
(5)Melissa A.
If I lived here, I would be obese from eating here so much. Amazing breakfast and lunch. Would love to try dinner and dessert. Next time we visit we will definitely be back.
(5)Carrie W.
(4)Paula L.
Some of the best Down Home Cooked Food anywhere. Ever. The Eggs Benedict is my fav, but anything with the home potatoes is great! Order away, cuz you'll love the food.
(5)Jeff V.
Fantastic breakfast restaurant in Whitefish that 2nd only to Swift Creek. Nice open space, downstairs, in an old historic building. Great food and great staff. You need to have breakfast there!
(4)Carren R.
(5)Becky C.
(5)R M.
(5)Lindsay B.
(5)Sherry M.
Hands down my favorite! Eggs Benedict, grits, the house potatoes..... Never a bad meal here. Sherry M Reecia'Salon
(5)Yulun W.
(4)Kristin F.
Delicious! Went there a few times during our vacation and never had a bad meal. Save room for pie. The best one was huckleberry peach pie.
(5)Brian K.
Great breakfast place! Super good food and great value for the money. Really cute as well.
(4)Megan S.
(5)Timothy K.
(4)Joop V.
(4)Helen B.
Awesome place! Outstanding service. Best breakfast I've had in a long time Going back again before leaving town. A winner!
(5)Sherry T.
(4)Candace H.
Chicken pot pie, huckleberry pie were great. Stuffed salmon good. Kayla was wonderful.
(5)Jessica N.
(5)W Scott J.
(5)Federico S.
stopped to taste their famous huckleberry pie, it was good but nothing to die for. best berry pie in montana so far is from missoula farmers market
(3)Ben L.
(5)Becca L.
(5)Travis S.
First time here and I was pleasantly surprised. Had the veggie pasta dish and I would definitely return again. The whole family loved the food.
(5)SRose W.
(4)Andrew M.
(5)Luke M.
(4)Jeff F.
(4)Jae H.
(5)Philip D.
Went this morning for the first time since moving away 8 years ago. Still great service and amazing food. Highly recommended!
(5)Beth S.
(3)Kimberly B.
(3)Amy H.
Not sure why it's a local favorite. Food is not "stellar". And the few times I've been there, it's been slow service. And sometimes just rude. I would choose other places before this one.
(1)EILEEN O.
Great food and AMAZING PIE as well as great service.
(4)Meagan R.
(5)Jorge M.

(5)Kim S.
Delicious breakfast! The wait after our order was a little long. Huge portion sizes. We are FULL! And ready for an adventuresome day. They stop serving pancakes at 11. Pancakes are HUGE, bigger than your head, a single is plenty! Worth the stop.

Great pies and food. Safronour our server knew her stuff! Coming here again for breakfast tomorrow.

(4)Becky D.
Enjoyed breakfast here. You definitely get your money's worth. Service is really good and the food is great.

(5)Annabelle S.

(5)Don Z.
The breakfast was fantastic. One if the best Eggs Benedict and Second street burrito . Lori was a great server.
(5)Denise W.
(3)Susan W.
Yum!
(5)Larayna C.
(5)Nick S.
(4)Adriene C.
(4)Gayle M.
Had the prime rib sandwich for lunch. It was delicious. Meat tender and fresh bun. Very tasty.
(4)Paige J.

(4)Eric L.

(5)Henry R.

(5)Lindsay B.
(5)Sherry M.
Hands down my favorite! Eggs Benedict, grits, the house potatoes..... Never a bad meal here. Sherry M Reecia'Salon
(5)Yulun W.
(4)Kristin F.
Delicious! Went there a few times during our vacation and never had a bad meal. Save room for pie. The best one was huckleberry peach pie.
(5)Jonathon S.

(4)Kristi M.
(5)David S.
Warm, friendly, local charm, and good food. Didn't try anything special here. Known for delicious, fresh-baked pie, Loula's gets this tourist's passing grades on everyday things. They're sure to excel on the rest of the menu.
