Everything about this place is great, especially the excellent steaks! The atmosphere is a bit cavernous, but you go for the food. Service is outstanding also!

my family of usually five, sometimes up to twenty have been going to Victor steak house since it has opened. we always try new steak houses when they open but always end up going back to VSH . The staff and food has always been the reason we return. we always go to steak houses when we travel and unanimously agree that they are never as good as what we have right here at home with VSH. the staff is so awesome and they like there jobs you don't see a turn over in help as you do in other establishments. the steakhouse is awesome with big groups we have been there for numerous birthday, retirement, family and business dinners. Many of our traveling business associates always want to go back to the VSH because of the food they have. Some say it has the best prime they have ever had and it has very good portions, i must agree. My favorite is the big blackened prime rib with the big frosted mug of Moosedrool. I never even look at the menu any more, most of the waitresses have mine memorized. My sons love the ribs and sometimes order a second order one to take to work the next day. They say they are right up there with the best they have ever had. Boy!!! Can't wait to go back, Victor Steakhouse you ROCK!!! PS. People nocking them for complimentary crackers in cellophane. I say WHATEVER, what else to complain about. Maybe the ice wasn't cold enough LOL.

Three of us made our first and last visit Friday Sept. the 18th at about 730 PM. Were seated placed our order and waited a solid hour for the order to be delivered. The place only had about 20 people in the dinning so I am assuming they were no where near capacity. After people who came in after us received their order our patience and attitude was depleted. I told the individuals at the grill that we were leaving after having waited an hour and his response was " I don't blame you". Drove a few miles to Hamilton and enjoyed a meal at Dairy Queen. The service was great, it was inexpensive and the meal was adequate in both quality and quantity.

Food was great. Steak done exactly as ordered and had great flavor. Wife had chicken broccoli Alfredo and said every bite had wonderful taste. Good beer price $3 for 25 oz, $5 for well vodka cran. Service was very good.

I went here this past week with some friends who live in Victor. The steak i must say was really good and tender. The ribs were also good. Overall everything was up to par. Had a few drinks in the bar area to wait for our food and the bartender was very nice and friendly. I cant wait to go back anytime im in town, since my best friend lives in Victor, i plan on going at least 3-4 times a year...

Love this steakhouse! The food is excellent, the service is fantastic, the bartenders make amazing drinks, and the atmosphere is Montana themed. If you are looking for some great prime rib this is definitely the place to go. They have a large selection of drinks so if you are with friends and family there is always something for everyone. The restaurant has a bar section with TVs along with the family dining area so it is great for large or small groups, or for someone out alone. New ownership within the past year so definitely give this place a shot!

Runs hot and cold in quality of food. Sometimes the meals are great, meat flavorful and properly prepared and other times the opposite. Could be who is cooking that night...no one has figured it out so far. Management and ownership has been the same for many years. That said, over 8 years we have had better far more times than worse, so give it a try. A very fine steakhouse is in Lolo, ~40 miles north, but that is a haul, esp in the winter. The atmosphere is very Montana, with stuffed wildlife hanging on the walls, open log beams and heavy wood tables. Can easily accommodate groups and regularly does. Bar has a large lounge area separate from the dining area, so any noise does not spill into it. Food is cooked on a large wood grill front and center of the dining room. A busy chef grills just about everything so you can watch. Be sure to make reservations as this is popular and after 6pm you might well have to wait. This is rural Montana, so sit back and make the best of it. People are awfully nice, and if you don't like your meal they will work out something else for you. And why would you order chicken in a steak place? Come on! The fish entres are good and there are specials each night if you don't want to eat beef.

If you are passing through.I don't recommend eattting here. Individually wrapped club crackers served with cheese spread. Bag salad. Frozen fries and onion rings served with our $30 steaks. The steak was forgettable. Way overpriced.

I go here with a friend that likes one particular dish they serve, a small steak...that said, I have tried numerous entrees and have been disappointed every time. The price of the meal is way too much for the quality. And, it is VERY noisy, terrible acoustics. So, if you want a steak, maybe you will get a good one...if you want anything else, go somewhere else. It is pretty large, lots of tables...log building and atmosphere, pretty good full bar.

We almost didn't go here because of the other reviews. Glad we did. Yes, it can be noisy due to the lack of accoustics in an open room. But go early, they open at 4pm, and go during the week. None of us had anything but steak so we can't vouch for the rest of the menu - it is, however, in the heart of Bitterroot cattle grazing land so......when in Rome, eat local.... Sirloin was good, marinated sirloin was very tasty and the prime rib was very nice as well (little fat on the prime and firm yet tender meat). Some of us had the soup and it was very good - the salads were basic but very fresh. One reviewer had mentioned "packaged" crackers and potted cheese. Personally, we were not put off by this at all. Perhaps we just didn't feel like ripping the place for something that didn't matter. Bread was whole wheat, warm and served with warmed pats of butter. Honestly - we all asked, "did these other reviewers go to a different place?" because we thought it was very good and would go back. And regarding prices - this is about par for steak houses throughout Montana. Bitterroot beef is some of the best however.

My fiancé and I have eaten there a dozen times and the food is outstanding! In my experience, this is the best steakhouse within 100 miles. To top off the great steaks, the price is reasonable. Great steak, good prices. I love this place!

no, no, no! never again! i'm sorry, i really do hate to be so emphatic, but never, ever again! my husband and i were sat at a small table in the back of the restaurant, away from the kitchen, which i appreciated. the basket of crackers with cheese that was delivered right after we sat down could have been good. the crackers were the kind you get with soup: pre-packaged keebler ones - 2 inside a sleeve of cellophane. the cheese, however, was most excellent ... it looked and tasted like port wine, but i couldn't be sure. the cracker/cheese presentation would have been so much more impressive if the crackers weren't wrapped in cellophane. salads did not impress either of us. my chicken was wretched ... too salty to eat. his prime rib was clearly not cooked the same day we were eating our dinner - he said it was terrible and begged me not to try it. the bread that was brought out with our salads was good. the prices seemed way too high for what we got. overall, this party of 2 was not impressed. we were hoping for much, much more for the price. maybe locals get a better deal? i couldn't say for sure, but it was obvious we weren't from around there and that we were just passing through on our way to missoula.
