I spent one night a Lolo Hot Spring Lodge. I booked a king at the lodge through a Travelocity special. The rustic log constructed room appeared to be clean and the amenities basic but sufficient. No Wifi in the rooms. However if you have an "Alfa Wifi Adapter" I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be a problem (accidently left mine at home) No broadcast television in the room (a good thing IMO), but the lodge has a very large selection of DVD's. My entry faced into the courtyard so even though one could hear owls and wildlife outside at night, all I could hear through the windows of the room were other guests ventilation systems. Moose wonder around out front. Water pressure is on the weak side but acceptable. However be forewarned that if the unit next to you turns the water on while in the shower, your temperature will make a drastic change. The bed was comfortable. I didn't see- have much interaction with the hotel staff. I spent a good couple hours at the bar/grill next door. Had a nice selection of beers along with a descent menu. I was bummed that the ribeye's were sold out, but that seemed to be an issue I had that week at other Montana eateries as well. My bartender/server "Sara" All I can say is she made the whole experience "Awesome". She even gave me a beer from a local brewery that she'd been saving for herself since they'd ran out. Great girl. Hope she's there next time I visit. I went to the lodge in the AM for coffee for the road. The breakfast smelled and looked great. Gunsmoke was playing on the LCD. Liked that! I planned on returning and spending the following night, but unfortunately ran into a government business issue in Missoula that required me to head to Bozeman. I've rated this experience as "Yay I'm a fan" almost "A-Ok", but the place and stay met my expectations for the type that it is. Not a cheap place to stay, but considering the location etc... I would say reasonable. BTW- I didn't notice anything related to pests or excess garbage in or around the property.

I only have experience with the restaurant, and this review is limited to that aspect of the establishment. I was absolutely TERRIBLE in all aspects. We ordered chips and salsa for appetizer that didn't arrive to the table until after we had finished our terrible, dry hamburgers, despite many requests. Mine didn't come with anything but a bun (they forgot the lettuce, onions & tomato) and it took them at least 15 min to bring that. My husband NEVER got the side salad that was supposed to come with his burger. We never got drink refills despite several requests (we had been riding in 95+ degree weather all day). It was also VERY loud. ABSOLUTELY DON"T EAT HERE!!!!!!

Great experience! The drive in on 12 was awesome! Jennifer was awesome helping get a nice camp spot and generally being awesome! Lots of fun trails in walking distance. Outdoor springs were big and spacious. Lots of sitting spots. A very "merry" group was enjoying the pool area, and only added to the good times. Kids loved to play around and in the pool area. The indoor spring is nice and hot. Slipping is easy anywhere around both pool areas, so watch your step. Clean bathroom area, flip flops add security. Restaraunt had limited staff at tables. Eat at bar. I had the tomato and basil soup, rib-eye, fries, fresh green beans...AWESOME! Good beer selection. Apple pie for dessert. Great meal! Overall, the scenery and options available to guests is tremendous! If you are enjoying yourself and just want a great place to relax and do it simple, you will love it here!

This was a major disappointment. The sites are not full service, no sewer hook up. We were charged more than the website rate, $30 vs $24. The $15 non-refundable pet deposit is ridiculous and there were dog droppings all over the park!! We were looking forward to the hot springs, but they were too hot (106-108 degrees) and looked filthy. For $7 each, not included with the overpriced rv rate, we passed. We slept well. It was quiet and the stream sounds were nice. Heidi at check in was pleasant. The shower building wasn't the cleanest looking, but the hot water was plentiful. We will pass on this one in the future.

This business needs a complete redo. Very run down, bathroom facilities were awful, the hot tub area was dilapidated. Sidewalks, stairs were in need of repair, desperately. There were 70 plus customers, 20 chairs, one umbrella, which was a free one from miller lite! A throw back to the 50's and doesn't look like any repairs have been done since then. Would not recommend. We did not stay at the lodge, nor did we eat anything there. My review is strictly based on the spa and pool area.

The hotel staff has "I gives no f*uck attitude" why this is awesome. We rented a utv and the guy was like if it's late don't worry about it we won't ding you for it. You can be loud as you want. The hotel has no phones in the rooms desk closes at 10. Also no cell service. You can act a fool. People did allllll night till 5 am. There was no house keeping for us in 3 days. The sheets came off every time we moved on the bed. The shower curtain had that pink stuff on the bottom. The double bed room was decorated awesomely and very ...well visually clean. Nicely decorated lots of space. Microwave and fridge! Let me tell you how to make this a five star for 25-35years old. Bring a cd player/mp3 player. Your own blankets and pillows. Camping grill. Well act like your camping. Bring all that. Except the tent. DVDs too! The DVD player was broke or every DVD had a huge scratch. The pools are nice and so is the lobby. the grounds have a ton to do. Hot springs, horse shoes, firepits, a pond and lots of atv trails. They claim to have miles of hiking trails but the hotel clerk said go about a 1/4 mile up the road. It's 45 min from Missoula no matter what they tell you. It's about 25-30 min to a full grocery store. The restaurant on site is pretty freaking good! They serve pizza and typical bar food. However the staff is slower than shit. At one point they even said I'll go get your check and went behind the bar and stood for a few then cleaned and then served some drinks and then I asked again and waited some more. This happened 3 different times in different scenarios. But good if you have the time. It was a decent experience but I wish I could have brought my own cooler, grill, grill supplies, bedding and mp3 player. Give this place a chance just be prepared. The staff is really relaxed and nice.

I booked this Lodge for our 15 year Anniversary get away. We were put in room #411 in the Out Post building. We were greeted by an overflowing can of trash. The building is completly old and falling apart. The building and our room smelled like smoke. There was a dead roach in the hall. Our room door had been kicked in and repaired. Our tiny small room was so outdated. Comforter and pillows looked so dirty. Sheets were old and disgustingly stained. Looking back now I wish we would have left but my husband and I had traveled 3 hours to get there we were tired and did not have another place to stay. There was a Rave party going on across the street with people high on ectasy and pot. They had loud techno music that played all night long. I did not sleep all night with the loud music and being cold because we could not use the dirty conforter. I could also hear a mouse walking around the room at night and in the morning I found a mouse trap under the sink. Absolutely the worst place that I have stayed. I complained to the man at the front desk and I asked for half price refund on our one night stay. He refunded $47.00 of the $100.00 we paid and refunded the second nights stay because there was no way I was going to stay another night. He also offered me a free nights stay in a larger room for the future which we probably will not use because of our experience.

This takes the cake for the WORST place I have ever staid!! Room was so bad, I slept in the car!! Hot Springs were pretty nice, pool was nice and hot, I will give them that. I had a reservation, checked in just after 9pm, soaked and then at closing, 10pm, went to my cabin. Holy Hell. It reeked like fresh paint fumes and mildew, and the" fresh" dirty sheets where covered in black dog hair. And what a depressing bleak cabin it was, cute on the outside, but with the bright white freshly painted walls, fluorescent lights, and a crappy bunk bed, no other furnishings, no artwork, nothing, it felt like a ghetto apartment on the inside. So I rushed back to the front desk to ask for another room. He gives me another key, I go back over to the trailer park, (campground) and the mini cabin he gave me a key to already had someone staying in it. I race back over to the pool offices as he is locking up for the night (the guy in the office was super nice!! I don't blame him at all that this place is a dump!!) I ask for a 3rd room key, starting to feel like goldy locks here, and the 3rd cabin is just gross, also reeks of paint fumes, there is a big pile of linens and (dirty!?) laundry on the bed. And it also stinks of cigarette smoke. The smell of fresh paint fumes (it was like they had painted it that afternoon, but didn't bother to even air it out, such a strong smell) was going to give me one helluva nasty headache if I slept in there all night. So I slept in my car. It was 39*F that night, but I just curled up, thank goodness I had a big warm blanket and pillow, and slept a few hours before I hit the road super early in the morning. After seeing room #3 I did make a last ditch effort and try to get a room at the lodge across the street, but he had already closed for the night. So I slept in my car, knowing if I went father down the road it would just get harder to get a room as it was already pretty late. I can't believe they are allowed to rent out those icky "cabins". Just a warning, you will be seriously disappointed if you stay in one. Though it is worth stopping by for dip in the pools, if you are in the area. Just don't set your expectations too high!

Nice-looking buildings in a pretty setting. Very pleasant employees. They have two large hot tubs with fresh hot spring water coming into them. However, I don't know when, if ever, they clean those pools. Every surface was slimy and we couldn't bear to stay in very long at all. We showered much longer than we were in the pools, we felt so yucky. Wi-fi was not good, no television in rooms but you can watch videos in your room. Library of videos available at office. Plenty of ice. Not much of a breakfast and no where nearby to eat, either. No cell phone service locally, but there was a free land line you can use to call anywhere in the U.S. Lots of large ants, even in the rooms. I flicked some off the bed and then couldn't go to sleep until I found all of them and got rid of them. Ants aren't as bad as other bugs, but still I didn't want to be bitten in my sleep. Later in our trip we found much nicer hotels for half the price! I would love to drive down Highway 12 again, but won't stay at Lolo Hot Springs Lodge.

Our experience is very similar to Alecia. We had driven all day from Yellowstone and looked forward to a nice room followed by a comfortable soak in the hot springs. I had booked a "Petite Queen" not realizing what exactly that meant. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE! We got Room 415 in the out building. At check in we were given the lecture the the building was all non smoking but it reeked of cigarette smoke. I noticed right away that sheets had what looked like dog hair and did not seem the right size for the mattress. The Techno Rave raged all night long and even with our fan on full blast making the room freezing, it could not be drowned out. After a terrible nights sleep we woke sleeping on that nasty mattress as the sheets had slipped off. On the plus side .. The breakfast was very nice and much better than most. The hot spring was very relaxing. Roger, the proprietor is a very nice man and it is unfortunate that the only review I have ever written had to be bad review on his establishment.

When we went to the front counter to pay, the attendant was a very large woman who had about three teeth. My friend had a bloody nose and another attendant called him "booger boy." We thought that was highly unprofessional. We immediately knew that this wasn't going to be a great experience. The locker rooms had a very unclean appearance. The inside pool felt very unclean and there were some very trashy looking folk. My friends and I felt like supermodels, and we are very average looking individuals. There we're a lot of people with tattoos. We sat in the pool for about twenty minutes and decided to leave because we felt so dirty being in the pool. There's no way in hell the admission price should be $7. Maybe $2 max. This was a terrible experience and was not worth the drive/time/money.

rip off. $90 for a "deluxe" cabin which had terrible mattresses, the shower was awful, the whole cabin looked shotty, also a sign telling us that the water filters needed to be changed and that the water was unsafe to drink. The food in the bar was awful and overpriced. The springs, were probably its only saving grace. they rent towels. the owner must be a real douche. it is close to jerry johnson springs so that is good. but its not a good place at all

PDL - pretty darn lame. Stayed here while on a road trip with my wife and the dogs. We paid 42 dollars and change for a mini mini mini cabin with a warped table and a metal bunk bed that creaked like a sailing ship headed for Davy Jones Locker. My wife and I had not been forced into a "sleep in separate bunkbeds" scenario since the Nixon administration - very odd. We also had to pay an extra 30 dollars for the two dogs! The hot pool is about 102 degrees and it was fairly nice and relatively clean, but it is entirely enclosed - which kind of sucks if you like hot springs and watching the stars from the tub - and has ridiculously lame lighting (two cheesy spotlights in one corner). Bathrooms are gross, restaurant is poor at the very best. I don't ever see us going back to this place unless I am suffering from a near-death hypothermia experience. Overly priced and overly lame. Oh, and the drinking water - forgot to mention that. They have a sign up saying their water quality does not meet health department standards. No need to boil it they say, but after seeing the rest of this place I have my doubts. Time for an ownership change!!!

This place is not in the town of Lolo, it is about 25 miles outside town. The area where it's located is beautiful but be aware that there is no cell phone service and there might as well be no internet service. The restaurant has wifi but we found it useless. Nothing outside of the restaurant has wifi. The Lolo Hot Springs Resort complex consists of a lodge, a bar/restaurant, the pool area and an RV/cabin camping area across the street. We didn't stay in or look at the Lodge. I would give the hot pool 2 stars - the water was nice and hot but the facility is in really bad shape. It looks old and run down with dirty, peeling paint. I felt gross sitting in the water. Also the hot pool is enclosed so the air is too hot inside. They do have an outdoor pool where you can cool off but it was also old and not in good shape. This needs a to be cleaned up and refurbished. We stayed in the RV park and I would give that 2 stars. First we were given one RV site and as we hooked everything up the water did not work (apparently they were doing some kind of maintenance or repair to the water lines). So we had to go back across the street to find out which site had water. We ended up having to back up close to the bath house to use a water spigot there. The electric hookup worked fine but there were no sewers at the individual sites. The bathroom facilities had showers but they were old and the showers have a button you have to push every minute to minute and a half or the shower cuts off. That was extremely annoying. That along with the lack of cell and internet service earned it the 2 stars. Food at the restaurant I would give 4 stars. The restaurant itself was nothing special to look at but the food was very good. I had prime rib, baked potato, carrots Texas toast and clam chowder. The prime rib was tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The clams in the chowder were nice and tender and the baked potato was good. I couldn't figure out the carrots they looked like they were fresh carrots that had been sliced and cooked to death. I just skipped those. Oh, the Texas toast was really good. Toasted on the grill until it was nice and crisp with a touch of garlic. Hubs had the Rueben and said it was very good as well. Service was great. Our waiter was super nice and the food was brought out quickly. The cook even came out to make sure the prime rib was cooked the way I wanted it. Overall, we won't be going back to the Lolo Hot Springs Resort. I did not count the restaurant in the overall ratings. If there was a separate listing for the restaurant I would have given it it's own review.

THIS PLACE IS A DUMP! I camped here with my family this summer. The RV camping spots are OK, a little small, but reasonably priced. The bathrooms and showers were filthy (the garbage was overflowing). The pool is dated, but OK. However, we had to leave when we found a piece of excrement in the pool. Even more worrisome is that the girl at the desk seemed to lack any sense of urgency when told. Lots of strange Bubba-ish and having-conversations-with-the-rocks kinda people hang around here. I found a dead chipmunk displayed on the hook-up. I'd advise skipping this place.

Life is too short to miss out on a great place like Lolo Hot Springs of Montana. The indoor hot pool was amazing. WE LOVED THIS PLACE. We camped out on the other side of the Hot Springs (same owner I think, I'm not 100% sure). In the morning, we met Roger (The Lolo man).. One of the nicest men in the world. He was wearing a new Angry Birds' T-shirt. I believe in my heart that he didn't know anything about Angry Birds so I didn't say anything. My babe said to Roger, "Did you see the Video on Youtube". Roger didn't say anything about that. Anyway, when we got in the car I said to my babe, "I don't think Roger knew anything about the Angry Birds". We both started laughing. Oh, I miss Roger, already. I plan to visit Lolo Hot Springs & Roger again soon. :)

This place is a rundown dump! We had reservations in one of the so called economy cabin, it was more then beak. White walls, bright white lightning, the size of a min van. Not to mention the bed was covered with hair!! We went to complain at the front desk and they gave us a key to another cabin. The only problem with the other cabin was more hair in the bed! Unless you enjoy a filthy cold and depressing places avoid at all costs!!

We stayed in the cabins, visited the hot springs and ate in the restaurant. I break each one down separately: The cabin was grungy but adequate. There was some kind of biker initiation going on next cabin over so we didn't get a great night sleep. The wifi which was advertised was only available if you loitered in front of the main office across the parking lot. The area itself was quiet and scenic, but if I were to go back again, I would check out the Lodge across the street...it looked much more classy and well kept. The hot springs were interesting , and again not quite what I expected. It was basically an indoor pool filled in with water from the hot springs.....it reminded me of a Russian bath house in NYC. The restaurant next door to the hot springs (across the highway from the cabins) was fantastic! After driving several hours to get there, we didn't want to head into Missoula to have dinner so we took our chances and scored big-time. The ribeye steak and full rack of ribs were out of this world! The Cold Smoke beer which the bartender recommended was also fantastic, and the potato soup was delicious. I would highly recommend this spot to eat! Overall it gets there stars due to the great meal, but the cabins would only get two on their own.

Came from Stevensville to swim and eat lunch and have a few drinks. Well the $7 a piece to swim was rather steep for the services. The pool attendant spent more time smoking out front then helping customers. The place is dirty. Went to the bar. Ordered food. Two tables of 2 came in just before us. The cook literally cooked one ticket completely at a time. 20 mins for the first 2 top to get there food. Then 20 mins later the second 2 top got their food. Then the cook came out saying she needed a break and our food was next. She then smoked a cigarette out front and then 20 mins later our marginal food came out. During the hour we waited I had 1 beer that sat empty for 50 mins before bartender asked if I wanted another. And it wasn't busy there were only 10-12 people in the whole place and we were 4 of them. So needless to say I didn't have another beer and will not go back. Extremely pathetic joke of employees

Not really sure what other reviewers were expecting. Some people need to stick to the Hilton. Its glorified camping as it should be in such a beautiful setting. Most hot springs that are in a place that get feet of snow are covered so they are accessible year around. The cabins are simple, pretty much just beds. I did see some that look like they have a bathroom. But in the middle of the simple cabins is a bathhouse. The water is hot and the toilets work. You get passes to hot springs with your cabin rental and let me tell you its not expensive. The staff was super friendly, they were out of wood for a fire and told us before we got back from dinner and a dip in the hot pool they would have some outside our cabin. What a great way to end the evening. The food was good and the drink and beer selection at the little place across the street was not disappointing. Would be a great place for a family reunion or work party. We have been back since and always leave happy and rejuvenated.
(5)Hank B.
The man that helped us was really nice but that's where the compliments end. It felt as if someone actually tried to make it look horrible. The cabins are empty save for a bed and a table. No decor, and an extra open empty room. Why? Bathrooms and showers reminded me of a concentration camp. Went to drop off keys in the morning and no one was there, but the sprinklers were watering the front of the building for some reason. Maybe just to waste the free water they have. Scary, gross place that is in dire need of a remodel or complete destruction.

I was raised in Missoula, Montana and as a young adult I had always wanted to stay in these rustic cabins, set back in the mountains (which are magnificent) and breath taking. The cabin we stayed in was a little unprepared for our visit. The clerk who gave us the room keys stated it was only her third day, so we have to be understanding about that. Now this is the not so good part. The cabin cost $96.30 including tax per night,,pricey but remember you want the experience right. The coffee maker was broken and there was no coffee either. We were given two very small towels, two wash clothes. No soap or the usually you are use to. Pay attention NOW this is the hard part if you are from California No CELLPHONE SERVICE and no landline The town of LOLO is 23 miles away before you can get a signal. If you are unlucky like me and Sprint is your provider you are sos for sure. Sprint has no towers anywhere in Montana.. The café does not open until 8:00 am but the food was good and priced fair. Now they have coffee but for me it seemed like a lifetime before I had coffee. The pool opens at 10:00 am and when you check in they give you free tickets for the hot springs. Please go there amazing experience too,

I grew up going to Lolo Hot Springs and have a lot of fond memories. Stopped in to take a soak after snow shoeing @ Lolo Pass. It was okay - it could have been a lot cleaner though. Did not visit the outdoor pool as it's March and freezing out. The staff looks a little sketchy. The price was okay $7. It is not the nicest hot springs but it was not the worst either.
(3)Margaux A.
I've only been to a couple hot springs, but this one sits on the top of my list. The first time I went here was back in Jr. High school, but since then I've returned to Lolo when I'm back in MT. Even though the hot springs has a concrete building surrounding it, it is great! The actual hot springs is enclosed with an opening at the top, allowing for some airflow. The outdoor pool is a pretty good sized pool. There are changing rooms and showers and lockers at the front desk. I visited the hot springs this past winter and it was great to sit in the springs and then go run outside, jump in the pool, roll in the snow and then jump back in...very exhilarating!! I've never stayed in the hotel, but went to the restaurant and bar to eat and grab a drink. They had a simple but pleasing menu and good selection of beers on tap. I would definitely recommend coming here for whether you live in MT or are just visiting!

Stopped by for a quick bite and dip in the pool with my family. Food was good, though the service left something to be desired. Our waitress gave us attitude with a smile. I also had to ask for everything twice. Simple items like ketchup and mustard for my burger, which in my opinion, should be something delivered without being asked for. One big deal for me when eating out also is, does my beverage stay empty long. I was able to drink my tea, and eat the ice in the glass, before I finally gave up hoping, and asked her for a refill. I'm a little more understanding if the place was packed, but it wasn't. So in conclusion, good food, big portions, but lacking in service.
(3)Dan H.
Great place to stop for a quick bite to eat. Highway 12 is very scenic and lots of fun on a motorcycle. The hot springs itself is great anytime of year. Food was fast, inexpensive, and pretty good. As a kid I spent many days at the hot springs and as an adult I'll be stopping there often for a break when I take the bike out for a ride.

We rented a cabin for one night on Christmas eve. Check-in was pretty easy (at the restaurant/bar--across highway from cabins). We've stayed there before, so I knew what to expect: the basics and not much more. The cabin had a full bath, mini fridge, and microwave, tiny sink, heater and a tiny TV/VHS combo with a VERY basic satellite line-up. Two queen bunk beds and a futon. Bunk beds would be nice if you're trying to cram in more people, but I'd prefer a bed where I could sit up without hitting my head. The futon wasn't super clean, there was a hole in the bathroom wall, and the shower curtain was torn. Just not what I expected for $90 + tax. Didn't stop and talk to anyone before we left, but will think twice about staying again any time soon. They need to do some repairs and updating. And more than 7 satellite channels would be nice. Oh yeah, and NO SOAP in the bathroom. Would have been nice to know we had to bring our own soap... The hot springs part was fine, though.
