We celebrated my husband's birthday with some friends at the Red Dog. We honestly could not have found a better place! It's winter, so the place wasn't bustling like it in the summer and it is a not so well hidden restaurant. When you visit the Red Dog, you just have to have the pizza. When I saw on the menu that the crusts are gluten free I was a little worried. Don't be. It is a crisp chewy mouthful of goodness! So, if you reading this, you are probably thinking you are going to try the pizza ( although the menu has a good variety). But the pizza you HAVE to have is the BBQ Chicken and Pineapple. To die for! The BBQ sauce is a spicy sweet explosion of flavors in your mouth. Add in the chicken, pineapple, and cheese and you are wondering why you never tried this before! The relaxed atmosphere and the food is a great, wear your loose jeans experience. If you are coming in the summer, take a drive through the Yaak afterwards. You will be awed by the beauty!

Wow! So I'm visiting this incredibly small town in Montana for Thanksgiving. My friends take us out for pizza at the Red Dog. The pizza gets a B+ for a tangy sauce and plenty of veggies. We had cheap pitchers of beer (kokanee) which also earns some points (for being cheap). HOWEVER, the greatest thing about this place are the ladies who work there! They were awesome! Our server was funny, polite, and kept replacing our mugs, keeping them nice and frosty! The locals we met were also really friendly. Since Libby is a place most people drive through, it might be nice to swing by here on your way to one of the ski towns.

We went out for pizza last night and it was a very enjoyable experience. If you're expecting New York pizza this isn't it. But what you get is very enjoyable. It had a whole wheat crust and a tangy sauce. Plenty of toppings (we ordered the combo) but the mushrooms were canned. What can I say, it wasn't authentic New York but it tasted good. We also ordered the chicken wings as an appetizer which was excellent. I wish we had ordered a double order. 3 little wings was not enough for me. The ambiance is casual and friendly and it is nice and roomy. Service was great. I could easily see coming back here just for the nightlife. They also have steaks, burgers, etc. but we did not try those.

Whenever guests visit, my mother likes to bring them to the Red Dog because she is amused by their reactions to the tradition of throwing peanut shells on the floor. Another highlight is the "No dogs, no guns, no caulks" sign on the door. Since I lived in Libby for a while, I no longer find these aspects that interesting, but I do think the sauce on the pizza is pretty good, and the pizza isn't greasy.
