Well, since Uncle Joe's is in Havre you really can't be too picky. I did find it funny that they use iceberg lettuce for the side salad in a restaurant that is suppose to be fine dining, and they also put celery in my pasta dish. That is definitely something I've never seen before. I suggest just going with the good old fashion steak and potatoes here. The wait staff was very nice though.

We had dinner on 6/6/15 prices were fair service was excellent there were four of us. Prime rib and steaks were cooked perfectly and very tasty one had shrimp which was also very good it was quiet enough so you could talk We would definitely recommend this place for dinner

The place is a bit pricey and I ordered the smallest steak on the menu. There weren't nearly as many options as I had hoped for. Even a smaller steak would have done nicely. Mine was huge!! With a loaf of bread to start with, I couldn't get through the meal. No complaint here! The steak was cooked wonderfully. I like mine rare or medium rare. It was juicy and tender. I prefer a bit more seasoning but I understand that's not what a lot of steakhouses do. They want you to enjoy the meat. Which I did. I was greatly turned off by the wait staff. From what I could gather it was a bunch of really young girls more worried about looking cute carrying around the cocktails, then to fill my water glass. If the reviews didn't tout this place as a fancy and if the prices weren't as high, I wouldn't really care as much. As for fancy, throwing a few candles on a table and having a cocktail waitress does not make a place fancy. It's in need of an update. The room was large, ceilings high, walls blank and it was so quiet you felt like you could hear each person's conversation.

Appalling would be an understatement. Truck stop fare disguised as a pricey steakhouse. Three hours from start to finish, and for no good reason. Asked to see the manager after we'd waited 1.5 hrs, and was told that she only worked Thursdays from 10-noon. That explains everything you need to understand. Except perhaps to remind you that Chateaubriand is not served with a can of Heinz mushroom gravy in most restaurants of decent repute.

OMG this was the best food I have ever had ordered the 12oz top serloin, it was cooked to perfection so juicy. I have been to many places and this is by far the best place service was AMAZING. Also recommend the onion blossom I just wish I had room for dessert. Definitely can't judge a book by it's cover.

Friendly, efficient staff and very clean operation. This place has the best menu in Havre. I had the Mussels as an appetizer and they were pretty good. Good garlic flavor with a touch of lemon. I went for the Halibut entree with high expectations after reading another glowing review. It was... well... okay. Not bad, not great. Just okay. A bit overcooked/dry and minimally seasoned, but a very large portion of fish. The steamed veggies were a pleasant surprise. They actually take fresh asparagus, broccoli, and squash and steam them. They definitely didn't come out of a can. Leave your expectations of fancy big city food behind and you won't be disappointed. We are not in Missoula or Bozeman here, but I would definitely come back next time I'm in Havre.

We went here as a group of 12. I was 5 minutes late because I couldn't find a parking spot. When I got in to the restaurant and sat down, the waitress asked me if I was eating. Seriously, why the hell else would I be here?! When I responded yes, she then asked what I wanted before even letting me see a menu. I don't know about you but personally I have to see a menu before I know what to order. About a half hour later everyone gets served but me. I understand I was 5 minutes late, that's why I ordered a club sandwich. Having worked in the restaurant industry, I made it as easy as possible for them to serve us all at once. I'm a pretty patient person but when you see your whole group get served, eat their meals, and plates start getting cleared off and you still have yet to be served a cold cut sandwich, you start getting pissed. After everyone else was done for about 15 minutes, the waitress told me mine was on its way. What a joke!!!! I told her to put it in a to-go box. I just LOVE wasting a hour and half on my day off to eat a cold soggy meal out of a Fucking box!!!!! What a waste of my God Damn Time!!!!!!!!!

We were in the restaurant for an hour and the waitress said we were next in line for them to START our meals. We left without eating. NOT IMPRESSED!

The four stars are for the food.... we had the Chateau Briand. The steak was cooked perfectly, came with potato, bread, salad, broccoli and real onion rings. The waitresses were attentive, fast, and service was fast also. The negative: the building is very old, there are few signs indicating where the steak restaurant is vs. the bar. The restaurant is in the basement: no windows, stuffy, and smelled funny.

I guess I have to disagree a bit with the positive reviews. Uncle Joe's isn't bad, it's just pretty meh. Prices are quite high - comparable to any of the national sit down chains you would in a larger town. The best thing on the menu is the cold, crisp salad. Skip the waffle fries, and the ribs are about what you would get from a prepacked rack of BBQ ribs with sauce included at a grocery store.

Best place for a sit-down meal in Havre (which isn't saying much, but hey, it's Havre, Montana). Food & drinks are all pretty decent. Bar area upstairs (with limited menu), restaurant downstairs.

If you like beef, the way beef tastes, then this is the place for you! If you want heavy spice rubs or lots of garlic flavor, go somewhere else. I like beef to taste like beef and found this place to be one of the best I've experienced. I ordered the New York strip, medium rare; it came to my table perfectly cooked, on a perfectly room temperature plate. One thing I've always hated about some joints are the rediculously hot plates with a steak floating in a pool of almost boiling clarified butter. Not here! Just and awesomely cooked, 14 ounce piece of medium rare flesh with the right amount of seasoning and hint of char from the broiler. It was one heavenly piece of cow. I savored it all.

Greats steaks but even better Halibut steak. The Halibut was beyond fantastic it belonged in upscale restaurant on the NW Coast or a high end spot in a big city.

Eat here often. Generally have the broasted chicken which is excellent and reasonably priced. Steaks here are very good also but they are enormous and more than I should eat at a meal and I am not big on taking steaks home to reheat. Would be nice if they had some meals for lighter eaters. Salads are lame. Decor is very dated but that's par for the course in Havre. Friend that was with us ordered ravioli and it had frozen particles in middle so I would steer clear of pasta dishes as they are obviously frozen and reheated.

was there for dinner--and was impressed with the size of the steak i had---the quality was top notch, the size was larger than i would have expected, and the price was very reasonable. the sides were ample, and quite tasty too. the drink was perfect, and was not one of the wimpy sized drinks so many serve. kudos to the bartender.

Had lunch on a weekend, so I can't speak to the steaks and such, but having lived in cities & towns where dining out is more than an afterthought, I have to say that - at least on my visit - UJs is a pretty average 'greasy spoon.' Service was decent and the portions were reasonable for the cost. Both the wife and I had hamburgers (I DID appreciate being able to order a fried egg on my burger) with fries and jalapeno poppers to start out. The poppers were definitely not made in house, although they were serviceable. Burgers were okay, but not out of the ordinary (with the noted kudos on the egg; otherwise quite standard toppings). I doubt the fries were fresh; they seemed to have been rather from a bag of frozen fries. If it weren't for the service and the egg option, I'd give it just 2 stars. Havre is not a dining mecca, but we don't have to expect mediocrity either...and - unfortunately - that's what the two of us got. Maybe give it a shot for dinner, but I wouldn't suggest too high expectations.
