It's no longer something to brag about. Rude staff and mediocre food at high prices.

Get the ugly burger, you won't need anything else!

This is a great place to go, even if you're just passing through Havre. It's an old style drive through where the left lane is for food and drinks, and you will have to wait until they call you forward, and the right lane has one speaker where you can order drinks only. Generally, if you're getting just drinks, you'll be called forward immediately. You can also go in the door at the back and order at the counter, but whether this is faster than the food lane is unclear. My brother just calls in his order ahead of time and then goes in the back and picks it up to save time. Their specialties are the ugly burger (a burger with lots and lots of toppings) and their flavored fountain drinks. You can mix any of 20+ flavors with any soda or shake. I like the cinnamon coke! You can mix any of them, even the ones that will probably gross you out, like oreo mountain dew... But that's your choice! If you bring your dog, they'll give you a dog treat. This is a nice, extra touch. Also, try their fry sauce (yes, it's probably just mayo and ketchup, but they get the proportion just right), it's the best that I've had anywhere. Rod's is NOT as fast as McDonalds, but that's ok, the food is better (even the fries are amazing), and the experience is much cooler.

When I moved to Havre, people kept telling me I HAD to go to Rod's and get an Ugly Burger. Finally I relented, and boy was I underwhelmed. It was a small burger that didn't fill me up and was so soggy and greasy it just made a mess. I mean it didn't taste BAD, I just couldn't understand what all the fuss is about. I've had many many better burgers.

In town for work, I had an Ugly Burger and cheese fries. Completely underwhelmed. A bland meat patty with a mess of condiments and vegetables added up to a forgettable burger similar to Sonic. The cheese fries just had nacho cheese sauce squirted on them. I probably won't be back.

Amazing food !!!! I got the ugly burger and it was.... Mind blowing. The older lady that took my order was very nice and worked hard in that hot kitchen. Two young girls not so much. Will come back here for sure!

Rod's drive in is one of my favorite "fast food/drive in" places. The ugly burger is fantastic!

I just don't get it. I've had two ugly burgers now and I don't understand the hype. I guess I'd be more impressed if I hadn't seen them sifting through a box of frozen gray patties. Bear Paw Meats is just down the street, why can't they use fresh/local ground beef? There's always a line in the drive-through though and a couple people inside. Both times I've had to wait quite a few minutes for my burger despite a large staff in the back. Both Pepsi and Coke products is probably the only thing that sets them apart. I had a small shake once and it was alright. Fries were meh, Sysco variety. If you want some variety in your fried potatoes they do offer "gems", "rounds", and fries. I had to ask but gems are tater tots and rounds are basically Potato Oles. The fry sauce might intrigue some people but it's pretty run of the mill if you've had it before. The last "draw" might be the ability to add flavors to your pop; something a few other places in town offer. I heard a lot of orders for soda with cinnamon but I don't need more sugar in my drink so I haven't tried any. Staff is friendly and prices are okay but really nothing special.

This is an ok burger joint. Prices have recently increased which I don't think the quality can justify although the staff is nice and seem competent.

The ugly burger is the tops. They have different flavored sodas (syrups, I'm guessing) which are a pretty unique thing. I personally loved my watermelon Sprite. The onion rings and fries are damn good, too.

A nice friendly Havre institution!!! I like the old-time drive in feel, and it's on my BF to-do list when we got back to his hometown!!!! Very good, messy burgers!! One major complaint-Rod's/Havre and MT in general didn't get the memo that Styrofoam is bad for the environment!!!!!! If they change this one simple fact of their service I would be willing to eat there more often when in town!!!

This is the best burger place in town. This is the place everyone misses when they leave Havre. Tons of variety for food and drinks, ugly burgers are awesome, and they have great milk shakes.
