Ok well I'm not sure where the rest of these reviews are coming from but I ate there last night and I was was pleased. I got the shrimp lo mein and my wife got the the chicken lo mein and while the prices were a little high I'm not surprised being that everything around here is jacked up. But the service was good and the food was outstanding. I would definitely recommend trying it out.

Service was good, staff was friendly. I had shrimp lo mein it was good, not best I have had but ok. My wife had chicken fried rice it was very good, large portions, you will not leave hungry. Decor of restaurant could be cleaned up a bit though.

I'm Chinese. And, one of my stock sayings is "even bad Chinese food is better than standard American fare". And today, I am forced to retract this statement. The owner is very nice.

Not recommended. I order sweet and sour chicken, and thats not good, im sorry. I ask the plastic bag to take it away because the portion is very big for me, but the bad think is she give me a used plastic bag from walmart :(

Never again!!!! Worst service and worst food. The lady there is arrogant and has no respect for customers. I ordered vegetable fried rice without egg and the lady there said it would be difficult for them to cook rice without egg and suggested me to have lo mein. The lo mein smelled real bad and so did all other items our group has ordered.

I strongly recommend this restaurant for Chinese people in this particular place, it provides a reasonable price. To be honest, the tasty is over my expectation!

I'm writing in defense of this place after all the bad reviews. If you are craving Chinese food, this place will do. No, it's not authentic. Stick to the Americanized basics. The portions are huge and it tastes decent. Yes, they don't give you water for free - it's more of a takeout place than anything else, if you can take it to go then do so. Styrofoam everything even if you eat in and there is no table service. Yes, it is more expensive than crappy Chinese food has a right to be. But so is everything else around here. Don't spend another night eating burgers or pizza because of the reviews!

After a long day in Yellowstone, we were in a mood for Chinese food. This is the only Chinese restaurant in town so we decided to give it a try. Overall the dishes are too oily. Vege dishes and shrimp Lo Mein are ok, but scallion beef is too hard to chew. The environment is not comfortable; tables seem not being cleaned for a long time. Long waiting time......

The food tastes better than it looks. Got the chicken lo mein, beef and broccoli, sautéed broccolli and chicken fried rice - acceptable and better than eating burgers. That said, the owner should clean up the place especially the entrance as you walk in - remove the huge garbage bins and the ugly speakers.

Start with the positive. The lady is really nice. That's kinda all. My mistake. Why would anybody get Chinese here. It's served in styrofoam. Has no taste. Just very bad bad food.

I am surprised to see they have only 2 stars on the review. The food is VERY good. The only problem is their place is small and seats and tables look pretty old. If you have a Chinese stamach, this is the place yo want to go after a full day's activity in yellowstone

Never go here. No matter how much you want Chinese. Too expensive, and bad food too! Sweet n sour chicken sauce is worse than grocery store. General To chicken was basically made with soy sauce. Never eat here.

Being the only Chinese restaurant in the small town, this one is actually not that bad. The owner/waitress was quite friendly and recommended dishes that are more Chinese -like. The beef with onion and scallion was pretty good. The celery with pork was ok as well. The stir-fired cabbage was a disaster...no flavor at all...

Worst Chinese restaurant ever! Have to pay for drinking water, doesn't make any sense!

It's small and not that clean, but food was pretty good. And portion was large too. As a Chinese I think the taste of their dishes are actually surprisingly authentic, especially in such a typical American small town. No waiter so no tip.

Worst Chinese restaurant ever!!! Walked in this restaurant, everything was messy. The waiter is the owner who's very busy and offer no service. We have to take the meun by ourselves. The meun is unclear with a lot of hand writing on it. The price is higher than that in other chinese restaurant, $14 on average. We ordered Lo Mein and Sichuan Beef. The dishes looked terrible and was tasted even worse. Generally, I eat up everything in diet but I could not finish them made by this restaurant. Frankly, all other customers were chinese tourists from China. I can see they have not much experience in US and so have no idea how bad this restaurant is. Unforunately, Wokking Panda Chinese Food is the only Chinese food in Gardiner. There are few choices in such a small village but this restaurant should be on the bottom of the wish list.

As I walked in, a customer and what I presume was the owner were cursing at each other. So F on atmosphere. The customer later threw some eggs at the restaurant, so that didn't help things either. The wait time for the food was waaay too long. Everything came in styrofoam to-go boxes; no plates. The entire restaurant's tacky red and white checkered theme hid any semblance that they were trying to integrate into the Yellowstone culture except for the fact that their floors were completely filthy in a way that looked like wild buffalo had recently stampeded through there. The food was glistening with oil as is usual with many low-end Chinese restaurants. The serving sizes were 3 times too large. No music. The only decorations were christmas lights around the windows that didn't actually turn on. I definitely would not recommend.

1 extra star for being nice about pointing out the "more chinese" items on the menu, being helpful about where to go in Yellowstone to see the wildlife, AND doing the best they can with available ingredients when you don't have to, being the only Chinese restaurant in town!!! 3 stars for the food - it's frankly as-expected in a place where asian ingredients are difficult to source, i.e. cabbage and carrots in place of chinese veggies like bok choy, chinese broccoli, bean sprouts, etc., not chinese rice (I think it was korean). BUT you can tell they try by keeping the MSG low, salt content low, not go nuts with the oil, etc. Yeah I know it prob should be 2 stars for the food but they saved my tastebuds from Ystone sandwiches 4 days in a row. No stars but laughs for the "atmosphere" - it's a red-and-white diner that serves chinese food.

We ordered two things... 1. Beef and Broccoli 2. Kung Pao Chicken ...at $10 bucks each. Not including the rice...that's extra. The Beef and Broccoli tasted like pot roast, but was actually pretty good for a pot roast. We ordered the kung pao chicken "extra spicy" which turned out to be something my grandmother, with her sensitive stomach, could have eaten. It was all dark meat too, which I like, but my friend hates. We took it to-go so I can't elaborate on the ambiance except for there really was none. Bright fluorescent lighting, no music, and a diner feel had me excited we were taking it to go. Also, their credit card machine is "very old" and has trouble excepting debit. This was made apparent to me by the owner? repeatedly swiping the card as she asked "do you have credit card?" with each swipe. Having said all that, It's Chinese in Gardiner, MT. You take what you can get.

Chinese American family with Chinese grandparents starving for some Chinese food...very mediocre...lady tried to sell us discounted expired coke..dad fell for it...but all in all could have been worse

I went here expecting decent Chinese food, instead what I got was mushy food that tasted like it was sitting in the sauce all day. I ordered a to go order of Sweet and Sour Chicken. It had no chicken constancy to it at all. Only one tiny piece of pineapple was in the whole container. I would not recommend this place at all!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
