The calzone And the pizza were very good. Service was very slow. It took 10 to 15 minutes before the waiter came to our table. It was a long wait for the food. The waitstaff seemed very inexperienced and new. I would give this place another chance.

If you are staying in the area, this is a decent place to grab dinner - nothing fancy, and just the basics, but it will do you fine. Service was nice, but not great. Mistakes were made on our order and no apology was offered, and the offer to remake the pizza was almost accusatory. (Seriously - doesn't everyone know how to do a pizza with different toppings on one half? What is so tough about that.... this is a pizza place after all!)

On a brief foray out of Yellowstone for gas and groceries, we stopped here for a bite. A reasonable break (and our cheapest restaurant meal during our Yellowstone visit), but our extra-cheese pizza wasn't that good. The crust is thick and spongy, sort of like Pizza Hut but less oily. The sauce is heavily flavored with oregano. The cheese is the kind that doesn't stretch much even when melted.

We ended up at Outlaws after discovering that the place we were going to try was closed on a Monday night. It was a choice between Outlaws and the Yellowstone Mine. Outlaws won after we checked out the salad bar. It wasn't only iceberg, but one of those salad mixes including iceberg, plus bins of spinach, beets, carrots, cucumbers and various other salad additions. The vegetables tasted fresh and welcome after too many stereotypical mountain west meals of red meat and few veggies. The pizza was quite good. We did a half andouille and green pepper, half pepperoni for the wee one. And we ate it all. We had skipped a real lunch but it was also pretty good pizza. I would have preferred a bit more red sauce (you can choose from red, white, or pesto) but was pleased that it wasn't overly cheesy. There were several pasta and soup specials. All the staff here and other Yellowstone and northwest Wyoming area places seem to be from a variety of other countries. They're all quite friendly. Outlaws is within walking distance of several north Gardiner hotels and is in the Outpost "Mall" which houses some local stores. Funny ladies room with two commodes (no stall walls) and two sinks - you can lock the main door. The room is gigantic as if they used to have stalls. Several high chairs and booster seats available. Henry Weinhard's root beer as well as Barq's, a few Montana (I think) beers and basically no wine (Inglenook, three types).

Outlaw's Pizza was a nice rustic place. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We had pizza which was very good. I also had the salad bar. It was definitely not a California sale bar. It was a sad salad bar with not very many veggies. The veggies that were there were looked a little old and dried out, but after 7 days on the road without any greens it was just what the doctor ordered. I think Outlaw's Pizza is a great place for travelers.

Items ordered: - Cowboy Pizza If you HAVE to absolutely have pizza, than I guess you eat here. The pizza tastes like frozen pizza. I would not be shocked if it was Tombstone pizza or anything. I saw one of the ladies (possibly the owner) fill up the salad bar with prepackaged vegetables and bagged lettuce. You might as well be eating at some fast food place. I was also a little disappointed that since we went for lunch and it was dead, some of the staff was sitting in the dining area watching TV and chatting away in their native language (Russian?) Like I said, if you absolutely HAVE to get your pizza fix, I would be looking at other options.

Our pizza was very tasty. We had The Outlaw and it tasted fresh and was just the right amount if crispy. The staff was friendly and the price reasonable. We were very happy.

Decent. After the fairly crappy lunch earlier in the day we didn't care what we ate. Our river guide said that this place claimed to have the "best pizza west of the Mississippi". Ok. We ordered a large specialty pizza that had pepperoni, bacon, and some other stuff on it. My son ordered a hawaiian calzone. I also had the salad bar. All the food arrived in a timely manner. It was decent. It tasted good and it was satisfying, but it's not a pie I'm craving way over here in Salem, OR.

I used to live in this town, and this was the absolute best pizza in town. That was over 10 years ago. I recently went here and was beyond excited to have my alltime favorite pizza...the Trail Boss!! Oh my, it was SO good. But, something has changed and I am so disappointed! The pizza used to be very thick, and now it's about half the height. The chicken was very dry, and there was not near the amount of sauce as before. Not sure if I will be going back....I can't tell you how sad this makes me. I guess they are trying to cut corners....well, it ain't working
