I have not been a fan of the Smiling Moose Deli in town in Bozeman at their West Main Street location, (just bad experiences and not top quality food or service) but my husband thinks that it's a-ok. Since newly opened in 4-Corners, I thought I'd give them another chance (assuming it's under the same ownership as the one in town) to do better for me. My husband called in a lunch order that I would pick up; a Mighty Mo sandwich, a Ty's Cobb salad for me, and a bowl of cheddar broccoli soup to split. I went to pick up the order in the drive-up window and pressed the outside button for service and waited... and waited... So I pressed it again and waited... and waited... Finally giving up and going inside instead. The girl waiting on me had our order ready to go. I mentioned that I waited outside and that their service button may possibly not be working. She said I had to honk for service because the button was broken. I suggested that they put a sign outside that says to do so... The food was good. Fresh salad and good soup. We'll most likely return for lunch sometime. Hopefully my streak of 'bad luck' with the Smiling Moose is over! Things that could make it better: -A united goal of excellent customer service from employees. It seems that the majority of people working at the Smiling Moose are predominantly college-age with a bit of an attitude that screams, "I don't care what you think, just take your food and shut your mouth!"

I just left this restaurant with my family. The food was ok but the staff was terrible. One employee used the F word multiple times while yelling at the cook. The cook then proceeded to leave. I will not be returning. I'm not sure if this place is family friendly or not.

August 8 2pm. Called to place an order and was immediately put on hold for 5 minutes. When I placed the order the wait was 15 minutes. I was nearly at your doorstep when it called. I cancelled the order. I often order on the way somewhere and use your pickup window. I recommend a better process for your take out orders. 5 min hold is not acceptable.

I'd give 0 stars if I could. No customer service. 30 minute wait with no other customers in the restaurant, and we left hungry: We stopped in for a quick bite on our way out of town, headed toward Big Sky for a beautiful day hike. EXCITED!! When we walked in the door we saw 2 employees blind the counter and no customers waiting. No wait?!?! In and out service?!?! Lucky Day?!?! WRONG!!! We look at the menu, place our order (a salad and cold sandwich - easy), and get told to have a seat and our food will be right out... GREAT!! We wait patiently for nearly 20 minutes assuming they were cooking something for our order, not sure what the deal is. We see the staff behind the counter stocking the sodas and ice, cleaning the counter, hanging out and conversing. WHAT'S UP??? Growing impatient, I walk up to the counter to ask why it's taking so long, there are no other customers and we ordered cold/easy food. After giving me a deer in the headlights look, the high school age kid behind the counter goes and talks to her old leather-skinned co-worker. She tells us "Sorry, she forgot. It'll be right out." SERIOUSLY?!?! 5 minutes later (25 minutes total wait) they give my wife her chicken salad with NO CHICKEN and my sandwich with no side. I walk back up to the counter, wait to be acknowledged and politely tell them about their mistakes. They open a container full of cold chicken and put it on the salad (chicken was already prepped, so now I feel there was NO EXCUSE for the initial wait). My wife took 1 bite of the salad and gagged in the overload of sour/bitter dressing. YUCK!! Unbelievably frustrated at the TOTAL INCOMPETENCE of the staff, 30 minute wait, hunger, and the entire experience, I ask for my money back (I've never done this before). They returned most of my money, minus the cost of fountain drinks (SERIOUSLY?!?!- couldn't comp our drinks to at least pretend to give a care), gave me a dirty look, and mumbled something as we walked out the door. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

Thanks for the food poisoning. Oh yeah...and if you plan to get people sick, can you do it with some faster customer service. Also, you may want to get the order correct too.

Extremely slow service for a deli. We waited for about 25 minutes and asked multiple times if the food was close to being ready and were ignored. Many people were waiting around and the workers did not make even the slightest effort to speed up the process. They knew many people were waiting and instead of trying to make things quicker they looked bored and as if they didn't care as they slowly prepared each customer's order. I will never go there again.

So disappointing! First and last time ever going there. Only one unisex bathroom I had to wait about 20 min just to wash my hands before I ate. My food was ready before I even got to wash my hands. So my hot sandwich got cold while I continued to wait for bathroom. The sandwich was a joke. I wish I would have taken a picture to post. There was very little meat on my RB philly. Like maybe two or three slices? Plenty of bread I took home half the bread bc I folded up what little meat, green peppers and cheese there was on half the bread which even that looked like a pathetic sandwich.
