India is the birth place of Chicken Tikka Masala and Curries. Indian foods are prepared with a blend of finely mixed spices quite popular across the region. The spices develop the rich taste in Indian food enough to boggle your mind. The ever-increasing fan base of Indian food around the New York city is steadily increasing because of the large number of Indians who traveled to the land of dreams. The Indians also brought their very own vibrant, colorful, and aromatic authentic dishes for the people in the West. While most of the Indian population is Vegetarian, Indian food is great for people who are looking for vegan or vegetarian food option. If you are a Meat lover, don't get disappointed yet. Indian food also boasts of some popular non-vegetarian dishes too. Few examples are the famous Butter Chicken, Mutton Biryani and Tandoori Chicken are enough to satisfy your taste buds.
Indian food has gained reputation all over the world especially in the United States. You can find many places serving the appetizing Indian food across all major cities in the US. India is a diverse country with different food culture originated from different parts of the country. While the Northern region boasts tandoori dishes and korma offering royal taste, the Western Ghats offers sea foods that is made in naturally sweet tender coconut milk. The South Indian food servers a quality of different dishes made from rice accompanied with spicy chutneys, curries and famous sambhar. Also, the Indian sweets are a delight to relish. If you ever want to have a burst of sugar syrup in mouth, don't forget to try few Bengali Sweets. Be it spicy, tangy, or sweet flavor, you can find everything in the Indian cuisine. Be assured that the melody of spices will surely bring delight to you.

Outstanding aesthetics make this restaurant lovely to sit in. The service was great from start to finish, and you could easily tell things were made from scratch. It is definitely high end Indian - a concept I hope Bozemanites will readily accept. We paid $60 for our two meals while sharing a starter, but it was perfect. Nicely spiced starter, great presentation of the chicken tandoori (perfectly cooked also), fresh fluffy naan, and a great ambience. Another visit led to a perfect meal from start to finish. The special was a tad on the expensive side ($38), however one of the best meals I've had ever in Bozeman. One of the top 5 in Bozeman for a nice dinner with up to 4 people.

Tucked into the nook that used to house Le Chatelaine Chocolates, the Saffron Table is a quite and private enclave right off of Main Street and 15th. We went to the Saffron Table for a birthday celebration last week, and it was wonderful - a delightful study in unique, elegant and tasty fusion food. We tried several dishes - Starters: Vegetable Pakoras and Masala Fries followed by the Paneer Caesar Salad. We had the Vegetable Briyani and the Tandoor Roasted Chicken as main courses. Oh, and did I mention the garlic Naan? No, I didn't yet... because I am saving the best for last - GARLIC NAAN! With Rosemary and Indian spices! Highlights for our table were certainly the Masala Fries - so tasty we didn't even use the dipping sauce - and the two main course, simply stunning. (And the Naan... beautiful Naan.) Beyond the food the clean, comforting and simple elegance of the atmosphere made our meal even more enjoyable. Very happy to have the Saffron Table in Bozeman.

Elegant, delicious and healthy asian fusion food with a strong Indian slant. Small portions that are just the right size. Yummy!

I went on a vacation with my family to Yellowstone Park, and we stopped by this restaurant at the end of our trip. We were so glad that we did! The food was delicious and the owner was very warm and friendly. She came by to our table several times to talk even though the place was packed. It was a pleasure to find such authentic ethnic food in Bozeman with very original and interesting flavors. We were celebrating my father's birthday so I wanted the evening to be special, and it certainly was. I would highly recommend this place.

We walked in and scored a table without reservations as they opened one Saturday. Saffron Table offers a great change on the preparation to local grown products. The meal sizes are perfectly portioned and priced -be sure to order some fresh warm naan (bread). The meal with either an appetizer or dessert (the chocolate specialty is great) will leave you satisfied, but not stuffed. (A pet peave of mine). The service was great and they kept our drinks filled. Try the rose pedal drink for a fresh unique nonalcoholic treat.

Went to Saffron Table Friday night for my second visit. The food is very authentic and just delicious, the atmosphere inviting and the service excellent. What more can I say. Wish I had six stars to give. You will love this place.
(5)Jon D.
Great atmosphere. Also, if you like sashimi, be sure to try the Hamachi Masala. Amaze-balls.
(5)MichaelAnne B.
The food is very innovative and fresh. The flavors are enticing and intoxicating. I would venture to say this is THE best restaurant in Bozeman. Enjoy, I know you will!

A recent addition to the Bozeman scene; although you wouldn't be able to tell they're new, the place was running like a well-oiled machine. The drinks menu is decent with a handful of local beer options. The potato samosas were very tasty as was my lamb shoulder. As with most new places in town, reservations are smart and Saffron Table uses OpenTable which makes reservations even easier. I will definitely be back!

Indian food has finally arrived in Bozeman. Have waited so long for this. Wow, and was it worth the wait. The food is fantastic. This will be our new go to for date night. The shrimp curry was particularly flavorful and yummy. I hope the restaurant will keep up this most excellent tasty food.
(5)Lauren K.
This restaurant exceeded my expectations in so many ways. Everything was delicious and expertly prepared. The owner was charming and patiently explained the menu. The lamb shoulder korma was consummately braised. Tender, well spiced and delicious. This is easily the best food in Bozeman and would be a phenomenon in any major city. The restaurant itself has great decor and ambiance. I think the servers could be a little more familiar with nuances of the menu, but they were in all other respects just great. If you come here expecting the usual over sauced crap, you won't get it. Instead you will get an education and a memorable and delicious experience. I just wish they had liquor. I love a mojito with a curry.

By far one of the most exciting meals I have had in Bozeman. creativity and control of the food was stellar service was warm and attentive and I love the space, and truly I will be back ( I've been twice in one week) the only thing negative and some can call me a snob but please change to cloth napkins it is Ridicules to eat such thoughtful delectables, that make you forget where you are until you use the paper napkins. Nothing but love and I will be back !

I am updating and amending my review of Saffron Table after receiving truly thoughtful and personal customer service from the owner herself. After getting out my frustration with their response to my gift certificate issue by writing my review, I had no expectations other than getting my thoughts off my chest and feeling lighter having said my piece. I got a phone call from the owner less than 48 hours after posting my review (she had my contact information and full name because I had corresponded with them via email and booked a reservation online) in which she expressed her concern that I had been carrying around my frustration for so long, and her desire to make it up to me. I still feel a bit shocked that she was so attentive to the nature of my frustration and so respectful of my feelings in our conversation. This kind of one on one, human interaction with a business is just remarkable in this day and age. She thanked me for my honesty and for giving her the opportunity to make it right. I did not feel at all that she was just after more stars on Yelp or that she just wanted to explain to me why their policy was correct. She was genuine in her commitment to service. I am impressed by her generosity and just based on her sincerity in wanting to make me happy I can say that I will be a customer as long as I live in Bozeman. Over and above, five star service is the only way to describe it.

Wow,what a great addition to Bozeman dining. The biryani was super hot but super delicious. save room for dessert!
(5)Benjamin C.
2 stars. Very cool and clean dining space, friendly staff, but I am forced to agree with several of the Yelp reviewers here that the food is mostly fine tasting but very overpriced for small portions, hence the poor rating. There is plenty of potential but Indian food ingredients - spices, lentils, chickpeas, rice and basic vegetables - are NOT expensive at wholesale prices. Having one or two fish options on the menu doesn't change things. Saffron Table, unlike every other Indian food restaurant with which I am familiar, has failed to realize this. The food here exceeds the price/size of top rated Indian restaurants in San Francisco, Salt Lake City and Denver, all three of which I have dined in the last 2 months. To me, it's just not as good either - more Americanized with less savory/spicy depth of flavor. My dishes lacked the richness/earthiness that I enjoy from Indian food - they don't simmer their curries long enough to develop intensity of flavor. I have been three times to Saffron Table overall and probably will not be returning. The value proposition is off for me, although that's not uncommon with Bozeman restaurants more generally. If you're looking to get fed here (small app and entree) think $25-$32 per person, not the usual $11-$16. Don't plan on a takeout container either.

As a small group, we had food from Saffron Table two nights in a row. We were blown away by the innovative interpretations of south Asian cuisine (like the eggplant chaat, Caesar salad, and vegetarian Kati roll), the freshness of the ingredients, the beautiful setting and understated decor, the attentive staff, and of course the graceful owner for whom ST is truly a labor of love. All the appetizers and desserts we tried were excellent, the entrees all very good and the portion sizes reasonable, and the chai and mango lassi hit the spot. The team at ST clearly understands the flavors of South Asia and the melding of those flavors for a delicious result that will appeal to everyone.

I had high hopes for this place. The menu looked excellent and had so much promise. My server was great and the only reason I give it two stars vs 1. The food could have been so great but was so incredibly salty that it was almost inedible. Had I not eaten all day due to a busy schedule I probably would have not been able to eat as much as I did. I had the eggplant chaat and the fish special which was Alaskan halibut as well as some garlic naan and raita. The natural flavors and Indian spices could have been so good on their own but were overpowered by so many salty seasonings.
(2)Chad D.
This is without a doubt, top 3 best restaurants in Bozeman. Everything from the service to the food is absolute top notch. For those that like something unique and flavorful, Saffron Table always delivers. I have tried most everything on the menu (I was serious when I said I was a big fan) and I have never been disappointed with a single dish. The hardest part is trying to decide what to order! The idea of bringing in an Americana spin on Indian, as well as some beautiful Asian Fusion dishes is a wonderful combination for a menu. I'm a huge Indian fan and the dishes are authentic and burst with flavor. I would highly encourage trying any special when they have it, as well as the seafood dishes- always a treat. This is a wonderful spot and one that I hope will live on for a very long time. Don't change a thing! This place is perfect!
(5)Lola H.
Unbelievable! The food here is exceptional. Fantastic selection and the flavors were just so authentic. I can't wait to come back here. Great beer and wine selection and the service was great. I had the meat lovers delight, which is Lamb Korma, Chicken Curry, Pork Vindaloo and daal. Each one was perfectly spiced and seasoned and the variety really worked together. The meats were tender and juicy and the portions were just right. Reasonable priced too. AWESOME!!! Bozeman just gets better and better.

Really tasty Indian-style fusion fare here. It's a bit pricey, but the food is very good. Service is not the best, but adequate. The potato samosas have an authentic flavor and are heavily spiced. The skin of the samosas is different from the samosas I have had at Indian/Pakistani restaurants in the past. I'm not entirely sure how to describe it - not as bubbly and crisp as what I am used to, but tasty nonetheless. The eggplant chaat was interesting and also quite tasty. It actually looks like sushi when it is served - covered with sauces and topped with crisped rice and chickpeas. The eggplant was crisp and tasty. Goan seafood stew has a mild but flavorful broth with plenty of fish chunks, shrimp, and calamari rings. The fish is a bit bland, but the rest of the seafood has a lot of flavor. The lamb kafta was probably my favorite dish. Very heavily spiced with a deep, umami flavor. The sauce is great over rice or sopped up with some naan. As far as service - we sat for quite a while before someone came to take our order. There were people seated after us that were served before us, and it appeared that they knew the owner or manager. Interestingly, this is not the first time in Bozeman where I felt that I would have received better service if I was "somebody" (cough, cough, Open Range, cough, cough). Aside from that, the service was adequate. Glasses were filled regularly, plates taken away promptly, etc.

Being Indian, we did not expect to find great Indian food in a small town in Montana, but this place was a very pleasant surprise! We ordered the eggplant chaat and veggie Kati roll to begin - the eggplant chaat was a creative twist on traditional chaat, but the flavor was absolutely spot on! For our main course, we had Goan fish stew, vegetarian thali and the truffle naan. The fish curry tasted authentic. The palak paneer and the dal in the thali were awesome. The chole and baingan bharta could have been better. The ambience, service and food presentation were delightful! The restaurant has a very cozy feel and would be a great place to take a date :)

Describe Saffron Table in one word? ...hmmm.... How about... Mouth-wateringly-mind-blowing-fusion-of-authentic-Âpreperation-and-traditional-flavors-with-local-Âingredeints-with-contemporary-flare For real though! I really enjoyed this place, they had the perfect combination of dishes that you could tell were "family recipes" as well as modern flavor/ingredient utilization. Big fan. Keep it up. My beef would be a failure for the service to meet the level of the food. I guess it is a relatively new joint, but it definitely showed with their personnel. Nothing to big... just little stuff.

Wow. In Bozeman??? No offense to anyone in Bozeman but wow - this place was crazy-sick amazing!! There's a few other very solid reviews of this place on here however, I had to throw in my two cents. Did y'all know that the chef came from the French Laundry? For those who aren't quite as epicurean as others, let's just say that was/is one of the more infamous chow houses in the Bay Area. We passed along our excitement for how delicious the food was to the very nice (and Cute) hostess only to see a few minutes later, the chef himself coming out to our table to thank us for us comments. Nice, very nice. Like others who've reviewed this place...I've definitely eaten my far share of Indian cuisine. I decided to think about how much and here's what I came up with. 4 different countries, 12 different states and I believe, if my math is correct, about 51 different cities. And guess what? This was probably one of the best Indian meals and experience I've ever had. I know - that's a pretty bodacious statement...well, I'm sticking to it. Everything from the eggplant Chaat to the mixed meat dish to the chicken curry and this other rice dish (forgive me I forgot the name but I've never tasted anything like it - and I've eaten a lot of crazy delicious food too) was all simply amazing. Just go - it's really not that pricey and if you think it is, you'll get over it once you dig in. Wow... Just go.

This is a great place for those who enjoy food from India Pakistan belt. As many other reviews state, we ordered an Eggplant Chat and it is rightly credited by other reviewers. This is the best Eggplant dish I have had in my life and I come from that place of India where people locally call us eggplants. The other dish we had was Moong dal and garlic naan. This too is great and the naan just melts in your mouth. My wife had Masala Chai and she is the one who hardly likes tea made by anyone else other than herself. She said it was perfect. We also ordered "Mango Strawberry sorbet" and enjoyed Mango part of it. Strawberry was okay... The serving staff was very affable. The only reason I ducked a star is because of pricing. But like joker said..."if you are good at something never do it for free". All I am saying is keep it reasonable. Loved this restaurant.
(4)Jan B.
What a wonderful dining experience we had at Saffron Table tonight! This quaint little Indian restaurant uses spices in a way that lets you know the Pakistani lady who owns this place is heads up! Her chef came from The French Laundry in Napa Valley. The two have created a team second to none ... and totally unexpected in Bozeman, MT. TREAT YOURSELF and look for Jennifer, waitress extraordinaire!! Very knowledgeable - and wonderfully accommodating. I had the special: rack of lamb and shared it with my son's vegetarian plate (or visa-versa). Together with the naan (garlic one time and onion flavored the next), we were in epicurean heaven!! We're leaving satisfied, ready to come back again, but not stuffed! NICE!!

This has become not only my favorite restaurant in Bozeman, but maybe my favorite in the world. Is that crazy? I run through my regular places in SF, LA, NYC, Hamburg, etc... nope, I'd rather eat at ST. Less greasy and more flavorful than Indian in London, better than the places I've been in Mumbai, this restaurant is a jewel. Andleeb is a sorceress with spices, and if you're not eating here regularly you're missing out. The dal alone is worth a visit, the nan is incredible. Try the lamb samosas, the eggplant chat, and mama's curry, I promise you'll be happy. Big portions, 3D spices, and excellent wine list make it worth the trip -- and the outside dining area is lovely.
(5)Wade D.
My wife and I have dined at Saffron Table 7-8 times and each time, it was fabulous. However, Friday night was other worldly. Mama's Curry Chicken--my favorite was perfect, as always. Eggplant Chaat---check. However a new dish--featuring coriander, cardamom, and who knows what else in an elegant cream sauce was perfection. The proprietary said that it was her mom's recipe--what a mom. Why would anyone leave home. Must go. Must go. Fantastic staff. Great atmosphere. Food to die for.
(5)Scott M.
Had the spicy beef biryani. An excellent dish with lots of favors. Yes, it's about a 3 on a 1 to 5 heat scale. Riatta is a good complement to tone down the spices. We liked this restaurant - a lot. Will be happy to try something else on the menu next time!
(5)Erika E.
5 Stars for Food, Mediocre Service. True to all the reviews when it comes to the food, we ordered the Willow Spring Organic Lamb Vindaloo Buns for an appetizer. The yoghurt sauce was divine. Loved the heat and coolness on the palate. For our entrees we opted for the halibut special, which may be one of my favorite new meals! Kudos to the kitchen team at Saffron Table. We also opted for the Goan Seafood Stew and the Kali Daal with Mushroom and Asparagus paired with two different Naans. Chocolate samosas were the perfect ending to the meal and the little chocolate crisps they use as a garnish-DIVINE! Loved the atmosphere and intimacy of the restaurant and the patio is beautiful! The only drawback was service. Our waitress was standoffish and even rude. She made us feel like our questions were an annoyance to her. Hopefully on our next trip the service will compliment the caliber of food and flavor.

I love this place! They have a few vegan/veggie options which is always appreciated, and the flavors are so complex and amazing. I'm so glad we have an authentic Indian restaurant in Bozeman now! :)
(5)Gwen H.
I was in Bozeman visiting a friend and when she recommended an Indian restaurant, I was a bit skeptical. I am from Chicago so my food standards are pretty high! I was overwhelmed by this newly opened restaurant. The experience started with the adorable "house" in which saffron resides. The decor is minimalists but suits the space perfectly. The food is the main event here....as it should be! The eggplant small plate was phenomenal. Lightly breaded and served with puffed rice. The hamachi appetizer was delicious as well. Light and refreshing for summer. I also recommend the house made chutneys and yogurt sauce. You will be pleasantly surprised!
(5)Morgan W.
Can't say enough about this place - the food and the service are outstanding. My husband and I discovered Saffron Table a year ago and had a memorable evening at the bar, chatting with the owner and trying a variety of dishes. We loved it so much that when planning our one night in Bozeman this summer, we had to go back. This experience topped our first. Owner Andleeb Dawood not only runs a terrific restaurant, she is absolutely delightful and has an amazing memory. As we started to introduce ourselves, she said "I remember you..." And proceeded to share how we had come in on a rainy night when the lights outside weren't working. She remembered where we sat and that we were from Minnesota. Trust me - it's not that we are that memorable. She is that amazing! About the food... Should Truffle Naan be on the menu, absolutely order it. The first crunchy, chewy bite of warm bread with the perfect amount of truffle flecks was pure tastebud bliss. On Andleeb's recommendation I ordered the fish special: Grilled halibut with her mother's special hara masala sauce with yogurt, cilantro, garlic, turmeric and green chile, served with a crispy cauliflower and chickpea fritter finished with smokey tomatoes. It was excellent. All in all, one of our favorite dining experiences, hands down.
(5)Brock H.
Decided to try this out while visiting Bozeman based on Yelp reviews; so glad that we did! It's like walking into someones house when you get there. This was all around one of the best meals we had on a 3 week road trip across the US. They do south asian fusion food and every dish we tried was bursting with unbelievable flavors. The Eggplant Chaat was the most tasty and unique dish we got. The Lamb Kofta was also spectacular and went great with Naan. The Naan is a must (we got onion). The Lamb Somosas were also an excellent dish. Love this place!
(5)Jai J.
It's not easy to prepare a good vegetarian Indian food and get all that flavor. The vegetarian thali was good, just the right amount of flavor and right portion! Definitely coming back
(4)Brandon C.
Are you kidding me? This place is a diamond in the Montana rough! A gold mine for anyone who likes Indian food. I thought it one of the most delicious cuisines of my cross country road trip. The menu is small, & some portions are small (depending on what you order), but the taste and freshness packs a Big Sky sized punch. The spices used at this restaurant seemed higher in quality than your average. I want a Saffron Table near my house.
(5)Van P.
Without question, one of the best dining experiences I've had. Anywhere. I would recommend flying in to to visit this restaurant. The service. The food. The food quality. The wine list. The prices. The atmosphere. It was all PERFECT!! The lamb tartar was definitely unusual...and it was amazing. Go! Now!
(5)Tom D.
Try the Kali Daal or the Goan-Style Seafood Stew. My entire family loved the experience.
(5)Swathi S.
Loved the place, the ambience is serene....and the food was yummier than my mum's food :) brilliant indian food :) :) :)
(5)Sarah B.
Have been about four times since they opened. I love the sleek, modern décor, Seriously, I want to live there ha ha ha! The chairs however are very uncomfortable! It's one thing to have plain chairs so that customers don't get too comfortable and stay all night... but these are small, minimally padded, awkward to sit on, shifting back and forth throughout the meal. have sat at the bar near the West side windows... even worse to be at a high top!!! Onto the food: That's why we keep coming back! Everything is so interesting! The flavors are like nothing around Bozeman and that's a good thing. I'm a very adventurous eater and I enjoy something new and different; that's what you'll find at Saffron Table. The Lamb Shank is rich and tender, with black lentils definitely worth the money although a small portion. I love the Crispy Paneer, although at times it is not as crispy as other times. Also a must-have is the Garlic Naan!! One thing I have not liked repeatedly (I will try things more than once!!) is the mint chutney that comes with the Crispy Paneer. It has a dense, muddled flavor that just doesn't live up to the other flavors I've experienced at Saffron Table. The mint is hidden behind some other spices that seem to compete with each other. Lose some ingredients on that one and try for a more refreshing, clean flavor.
(4)Byrhonda L.
The place has delicious food. I was so impressed with how I was able to taste the spices in every dish I tried. I shared the lamb shoulder with my BF, and we had a few other small plates. It's a really good place to go with friends. That will allow you to get many different dishes and try a little bit of everything. I would definitely recommend you try this restaurant. I can't wait to go back!
(5)Tyler H.
Way overpriced for the tiny portions, wouldn't even consider this an Indian restaurant more like Indian american fusion. Very disappointed and would not recommend it to anyone unless you want to leave hungry and dissatisfied. Growing up in NYC I have had a lot of good Indian food and this doesn't even come close. DO NOT GO! Edit: I guess they consider it Asian fusion
(1)Charles W.
Incredibly good and creative. A must if you're in town. Delicious food, nice environment, and very hospitable folks.
(5)Yasmine A.
Saffron is beautifully decorated. The food presentation is also lovely. Taste and quality is there. Prices are steep and quantity is lacking though. We ordered the masala fries and naan for appetizer. Both delicious, but over-priced for the portion. I also ordered a diet coke and was given a mini can, which they did not offer refills on. This small version was $2. Our entree was the Tandoori Chicken. Beautiful presentation, but such small quantity. For $18 I expect to be full at the end of my meal. There were barely 5 pieces of chicken. No rice. No naan that comes with that order either. Only a handful of grilled cauliflower and potato. It was delicious, but not enough. I hate to say it, but I will probably not go back, because the portions were so small and the prices so high. The quality is there. Maybe if they increased their serving sizes, I would consider returning.
(3)Susan S.
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Yelp didn't fail. The food is amazing. Love the Eggplant Chaat. The seafood stew melted in my mouth.
(5)Mallory S.
Wonderful food. The is the best Indian fare you can find in Bozeman. The fish of the day never disappoints, the chutneys are what dreams are made of, and the naan will change your life. It is on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for.
(5)C B.
Dinner at Saffron Table is always a delight. The aesthetic of the restaurant is clean, contemporary, and cozy. The staff is sweet, accommodating, and attentive. I've never had a mediocre meal here; everything is always flavorful, elegant, and scrumptious. I particularly love the seafood curry. One of the best parts of dining here consists of knowing that almost all the meat and dairy is locally sourced; the prices reflect this. I gladly pay a little more for well thought out, attentively executed, and locally sourced dinner. As far as portions, I have always left appropriately full, though granted, not obscenely stuffed. And luckily, there's a McDonald's near by for those who don't comprehend the cost of quality.
(5)Laura B.
Really great food, but way over priced for this area.
(4)Mariah R.
I waited and waited for Indian cuisine to come to Bozeman. When it finally arrived, Saffron Table went above and beyond my expectations. I have eaten Indian food all over the world, including friends' houses in India. I can safely say Saffron serves up some of the best dishes I have ever had. Their contemporary take on authentic dishes never disappoints and is always beautifully plated. The service is always friendly and prompt. Don't dine here just because you are craving curry, dine here because you want a top-notch culinary experience that you would be lucky to find even in a large city.
(5)Betsy G.
Some of the best food in Bozeman. Charming venue, great wine list and owner Andleeb Dawood is amazing and lovely. I'd eat hear every night if I could. The lamb, the naan and the chicken kati roll are all incredible. And so is everything else! I absolutely love this place.
(5)Kshitija C.
we had dined here and it's fabulous....we had thali and apart from palak paneer rest was yummy.....it's good to try...
(4)Bill Z.
Service was excellent. Food was great. I thought the prices were a little high and the portions a little small. Over all a great meal though.
(4)Paul M.
Visited Saffron Table last night after arriving from the east coast. So glad we found it! Everything was delicious, but particularly the Hamachi Masala and the eggplant chaat. service is also amazing. Definitely recommend.
(5)Betsy Q.
This place is so special. The decor, the staff, the vibe--lovely. And the food is amazing. We are so lucky to have this in Bozeman!!! I had the Curry in a Hurry. My family had the samosas and Tandoor Chicken. We loved everything! Would love to friend owner Andleeb Dawood on Facebook--she is amazing!
(5)Dan D.
Food has yet to arrive, but this place is so fragrant and hospitable, I know it will be as great as the wine they so graciously served me. More later about the food.

So what was a Jersey guy doing in Bozeman, MT having dinner at a contemporary asian fusion restaurant? The same question can be asked about the owner of said restaurant who hails from New York City by way of Pakistan. I know why I was there. I'd been led by a higher power (Yelp) which pointed me to one of greatest, relatively new (a year old) joints in the great gateway area of the United States. The décor can be described as an industrial farm to table space with a retro Madmen feel. There's even a fireplace to make it feel like your own house. I sat at the bar and noted the competent selection of beer, ale and wine all in support of the outrageously complicated and delectably comforting food I had ever eaten west of the Mississippi. I started with willow spring lamb samosa staring at all the reservations walking in as a piled on more mint chutney. To my self I whispered, "this place rocks!". The samosas were light and the lamb love within was balanced and enhanced by the chutney. Choice beverage with my starter was a Tiamo prosecco. The wait staff suggested a main of Yellowstone Grassfed beef biryani. From first sight to last bite, it was then that I came up with the expression, "complicated comfort food." I had the wonderful fortune of talking with the owner who stated in a soft and thoughtful way, " I didn't know if Bozeman would be ready for something like this." She is a bright woman who commands her space in a supportive and directed manner making sure her staff is on point and that all her guests are well cared for. I can say without reservation (as I didn't have one), Bozeman is more than ready for NYC by way of Pakistan to settle in for a long and successful run. See you guys for round two in September!

The best date night that Bozeman has to offer! Even after moving out to Paradise Valley, we still make special trips to eat at Saffron Table. The service is excellent, your water glass is always full, and PAKORAS.

Being an Indian by origin the best compliment that we could give is that the food, the presentation and the service makes it the best Indian dinner we have ever had in the U.S.

Excellent fresh, fragrant food. Vegetable Thali sampler heavenly. Each dish with its unique spices. Spinach Paneer tasty but cold. Special fish cooked perfectly; each element of the dish unique but they all worked together beautifully. We loved the food and the atmosphere!!!

Saffron Table combines the best of all worlds into a dining experience not to be missed while in Bozeman. The food combines the best of India, Pakistan and Montana in collage that will draw the diner into a world of taste that not only satisfies the appetite but tempts the palate. Start with the Willow Spring Lamb Samosa followed with your choice of the fish special (fresh Halibut emerged in an Indian sauce) or the Saffron Table Meat Lovers Delight. The food was so delicious I found myself sampling each of our foursomes entrees, each was awesome! Last but not least, the wine list offers an extensive variety including a wonderful French Chablis and White Burgundy. The bill for four of us was surprisingly modest. We left appetites completely satisfied wanting to come back soon. The Saffron Table is one of those rare finds which makes me want to come back again and again. If you are in Bozeman this restaurant is a must! Enjoy!

A small group of us went to Saffron Table last night for a soft opening and were blown away! Way to go Bozeman. The menu is innovative, provides a good use of locally sourced meats and vegetables with in-house made spice blends and chutneys. We started with a few of the Crispy Bites....the Eggplant Chaat and Crispy Paneer were huge hits. The Daal is not to be missed with just enough spice and a creamy finish. The naan was perfectly done with a bit of crisp and served with an amazing mint chutney. For the mains, two of us had the Lamb which was to die for, one Veggie Biryani (rice dish) and one Tandori Chicken which melted in our mouths. If you enjoy South Asian cuisine with a local twist, you must check out Saffron Table.

Curry in a Hurry (curry special), tandoori chicken, mama's curry, garlic naan, onion naan, basmati rice, lamb samosas, pandeer, great service. I would do it all over again!

Wonderful flavors and enticing dishes - a real treat in Bozeman. Food is probably close to five-star, though the service is slightly hesitant and unsure (which is not unexpected in a newly opened restaurant). The space is attractive but the chairs aren't terribly comfortable, and some of the table arrangements are awkward. Be aware that this isn't a typical Indian affair with piles of basmati rice and overflowing pots of Saag Paneer or Chana Masala etc. It's a much more refined take on south asian cuisine with smaller portions and thoughtful presentation. It's obvious that someone in the kitchen really knows what they're doing. I'll be looking forward to trying it again.

No matter who we bring to Saffron, they are always super impressed. Food is fresh, delicious and the servers know their stuff. Can't stop eating here, luckily I don't have to! Thanks, Andleeb for keeping us in delicious Indian food!

Loved the food here. Not traditional Indian restaurant by any means but the food tasted delicious and homely. The staff was very sweet, courteous and when celebrating my wife's birthday, they offered complimentary dessert, which tasted like little bites of heaven. Would most definitely go again and recommend to friends.

Picked this restaurant because of the other Yelp reviews. I was very impressed with hie friendly and helpful the staff was and how delicious everything was. From the samosa appetizer to the main course and dessert was delightful.

One of the things I missed the most after moving to Montana was Indian food. I love it. When this place opened I went the first week. It was AMAZING. But I agree with other reviewers that it is expensive so while unbelievably good it is a once in a while treat for us.
