The curry fries, just like everyone says, are amazing. The inside is LOUD - so grab a table outside if the weather is right. That's right. The traffic noise of main street is quieter than the reverberating acoustics inside the Pub. Our group was happy with the food. Sandwiches and a burger. Beer selection was great. Would go (sit outside) again!

Great Happy Hour. $3.00 pints of fresh local brews. Being that it was our first day in Bozeman, the waitress was very helpful giving us dining tips for downtown. We'll be back, for sure.

Tried the falafel with french onion soup on the side for lunch. There were plenty of customers, but still had enough places to sit. I sat with a view towards a TV as I was there alone traveling for business. I liked the falafel a lot; it had tahini sauce on it. I grew up eating falafel, but the problem with a lot of places today, is they put tzatziki sauce on it instead of tahini, which I believe is the proper sauce. Tzatziki should go on gyros. I'm not sure if tahini is too bitter for most Americans and tzatziki is more familiar as a yogurt based sauce, or any other reason. Tahini is one of my favorite sauces and pretty simple to make so I don't know why it's not more prevalent. Bacchus Pub had a tahini sauce, it had some other seasoning added that I'm not used to, but it was still good. Though I could have had a little more sauce on mine. French onion soup was about as good as I've had except maybe at "real" french restaurants. Plenty of carmelized onion and cheese was perfectly broiled on top. I would love to come back here for the same lunch, but I can't imagine a reason why I would be in Bozeman, MT again.

After two years, we had to go back to Bacchus Pub. They didn't fail me. I had the fish and chips again and it was very good like last time. And again, I forgot the name of the dark beer I had last time and tried another dark beer. It was very good and refreshing. The service was excellent. We sat in the dark corner of the pub but we were never forgotten. Our server was always there for us. The Pub has become our favorite pub in Bozeman. It was crowded but that didn't stop the great service. Worth coming back to for us.

The service was incredibly slow. Even though the waitress apologized every time she came to the table, that doesn't quite make up for it. Especially given it was the beginning of the Saturday lunch crowd and wasn't too crowded when we arrived. The food was ultimately decent though. The fish and chips were nicely breaded with a fair amount of fish and included four decent sized pieces. We also had a spicy burger which was juicy and flavorful. If not for the poor service, this place would probably merit three stars.

My friends love this place and have great experiences so I'm not sure why I've had such bad luck. I generally give a place 2 chances and I've give the Bacchus 3. Disappointed each time with the food and the service once. Management has been accommodating 2/3. The first time I went in we had a smartass waitress that served us Moscow mules in glass and insisted its the same thing as a copper mug (It's not.) I don't remember exactly what happened with our food the second time but I remember it sucking. The third time I ordered a burger medium rare with grilled jalapeños. It came out well-well done with raw jalapeños. If you eat jalapeños you know there is a huge difference between raw and cooked. I complained and the manager kindly explained to me they had a new guy on the line and asked if he could remake my burger. I'm not one for wasting food, so I told him no thank you and ate the rest of my food. He brought me a new burger anyways... Not knowing what to do with a second burger for dinner I stopped at the bar on my way home and gave it away. The atmosphere in here is pretty cool. If you're a high nosing bozemanite lacking taste buds I think this might be the place for you. Or I just had a really unlucky 3 experiences.

Cute girs on staff, a killer selection of local (and otherwise beers) and good food.. right there on the high street, a great find for the passerby!
(5)Ali P.
Food might be acceptable if you've had 3 overpriced drinks beforehand. It's a good looking pub and fine for drinking. There is a patio that's open in the summer. However, the food isn't good! I've been there several times to eat and it only disappoints. The service is fine until the place is about a third full. It falls off dramatically at that point. If you're looking for pretty waitresses, you won't be disappointed. Just don't expect good service.
(2)Doreen D.
We did not eat at Bacchus Pub, but went here for their happy hour. There are specials on beer, wine & Moscow Mules along with some food specials. The wait staff is very friendly and it just a fun place to sit and relax while having a happy hour drink.
(4)Simon T.
Extremely loud place. I mean, it's a bar, so duh. But still, echos. Ow.
(3)E D.
Service sucks!!! We sat outside for 10 min and watched the server help everyone that came in after us with drink orders and menus, while the waitress kept saying I'll be right back to take your order. I'd give it no stars if I could just on that. If you want people to stay at your pub at least take their order.
(1)Peter W.
I was looking forward to dinner on the patio tonight as the weather was perfect. Unfortunately everyone else had the same idea. Surprisingly the inside only had about 5 tables occupied. We sat at a table across from the bar and looked over the beer selection and were ready to order. There were 3 girls and 1 guy on the floor in addition to the bartenders. After 9 minutes of sitting there AFTER we closed the drink menu we were never acknowledged. We left slowly in hopes that someone would throw out the "oh hey sorry, I'll be right with you" two of the girls turned their backs on us when we were leaving. Looking forward to trying it again, it has a great atmosphere and what looked like a tasty menu.

Service = great Curry fries = great Atmosphere on a Thursday night = great 5/5 on the nummy scale

YUM! Yum yum & did I mention yum. The only problem I had with this place was picking something off the menu. It all looked delicious & I simply could not decide. Not disappointed. Everything we ordered was wonderful. Their "Mule" drinks are amazing (your choice of whiskey, Jin, tequila, vodka or rum. Mixed with ginger beer & lime. Very good). Happy hour from 4 to 6. Conveniently located on main in Bozeman. Also had healthy, vegan, & gluten free options on their menu. Always a plus :). Loved it. Will certainly return.

Extremely comfortable rustic bar on Main St.. Bozeman.. Service was prompt and friendly. Plenty of draft beers to choose & a fully stocked long bar.. I order the Rubin with fries ... Simple put.. it was delicious !!! Closed face sandwich.. Hot and moist .. Fries were hand cut and hot on the plate .. Loved the sandwich and o by the way the beers were also very tasty ...highly recommend!!!
(4)Erin A.
Probably my favorite bar in town! My service has never been superb (taking forever to get drinks, forgotten drinks then made up with by free drinks), but Bacchus makes up for it with tasty food. I recommend their chicken sandwich. It's usually a loud, popular place but always a good time!
(4)J J.
Wd ordered the curry fries, they were fantastic! The service was just meh, they were not busy, they had a lot of staff, but still we found that our server was sub par. Will give it another try!!
(3)Zach W.
We went here around 3pm on a week day, so it wasn't very busy. Val was very nice and seated us, she would have made a good server. It took a really long time for our server to take our order, but the curry fries were worth the wait. Get a Moscow Mule. Yum. Will come again.
(3)Kurt W.
Very Nice atmosphere and cool location. Attached to an historical hotel. Ask for Shauna at the bar and you won't be disappointed. Had a Philly Burger which had a choppy aoli that was legit.
(4)Chris L.
A perfect spot for either a full meal, or just a beer or two with curry fries.
(4)Rosanna Y. D.
A very good alternative to Montana Ale Works. Comfort food that is satisfying and good cocktails!!
(4)Ben G.
The burger here was delicious -- I had the "Nevada City" -- and all of the components seemed fresh and high quality (the bacon was especially good). I had the amber and cold smoke scotch beers, both were excellent. Nice atmosphere. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly. I can't find any fault with this place... great experience all around.
(5)Jenny H.
3.25 stars had the nevada city burger which is topped with pepper jack cheese, jalapeños, bacon, avocado, and house-made chipotle aioli. everything about it was good, meaning the toppings were fresh, the burger had decent flavor, and the fries were tasty. definitely a good burger when you need a fix. still... it's not anything to write home about. but remember that i am a rochestarian and am ruthless when it comes to burgs. i think the typical consumer would consider it a fantastic find. drank the rough mule and really enjoyed the copper mug. it really leaned into the flavor of the drink in a fun way. my complaints are that the burger was well done when i asked for it medium and that the server messed up our drink order, charging and bringing an old fashioned instead of a moscow mule. overall i liked the feel of the place. it had a good mix of ages and even though it was karaoke night, i could still hear myself think. i'll be back for a late nighter.
(3)Alex H.
I do really enjoy the Bacchus pub. Good food and drinks. If you want more then just bar food and have an actual dinner. The currie fries are awesome, same with the ruben and garlic lovers pizza. Only down fall is is can be very crowded, because its so good, making it loud and hard to find a seat.
(5)Angela P.
Came here for lunch and was disappointed! The Drinks and food was good, but the service was beyond bad... We ordered a burger, sandwich, curry fries and Moscow Mules. They brought out our food after a decent wait, but not the appetizer (curry fries) we ordered, I couldn't flag down a waiter to stop that order thinking they forgot and not wanting to be charged for something we did not get. At the very end of our meal, the waiter brought over Curry Fries to the table NEXT to us and after they said they didn't order them, we said, those are ours. I had to get a to-go box for them because we were full from our lunch. Leftover fries are NOT the business, so I was severely disappointed that I didn't get to experience them like I was anticipating. Probably won't be returning.
(2)Teri S.
I don't know if it was an off night or what but the service here was the worst I had in quite some time anywhere. Waitress only stopped by to take our drink and food order. If she had come back to check on us after our food was dropped off, she would have seen that we didn't have silverware or napkins. None of the other staff appeared to notice that we were just sitting there with our food and not eating and we couldn't get anyone's attention. Finally I helped myself to the bus stand for the cutlery. Luckily the food was decent but if we would have had an issue no one would have known. We waited forever to get our bill and get out of there, too. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt but I would hesitate to return based on this experience.
(3)Dennis M.
I like most of their food, but for dinner, it is just TOO NOISY for me (and the more drinkers, the noisier).....I guess I am "over the hill".
(3)Kyle G.
I could likely build a restaurant around the Curry Fries appetizer. They are addictive and irresistible and a mound of food for $6. I was happy that they had several vegetarian offerings and would come back to try others. My portobello sandwich was a bit disappointing as it lacked any flavor. I'd have to double check the menu, but I think it there might have been an omission of a pesto sauce which may have made all the difference in the world. Looking forward to the return trip to Bozeman!
(4)Lawrence B.
Stopped in for a quick IPA and Manhattan clam chowder. The IPA selection had great local micros. Lotsa clams in the chowder. Great place.
(5)Dale Z.
This place was popular back in the 1980's. In its current incarnation, it seems even more of a popular and trendy destination. They have a solid selection of beers, and the Moscow Mules pack quite a kick (and are very thirst quenching). The pot pie I had as my pub fare was pretty good overall. The waitresses were quite fetching, and I found the service to be very good.
(4)D N.
Wow! It's been 26 years since I moved away from Bozeman. The Bacchus Pub stills delivers a burger that will knock your socks off. Others at the table ordered the Reuben sandwich, equally as good. Atmosphere is what you expect in your favorite spot.
(5)Brittany N.
I had a great time here - both for lunch and going out with friends at night! The staff is super friendly, but some of the cocktail waitresses are a little "confused." Large bar and enough seating around the restaurant. Lots of delicious food - most people seem to love the burgers, but I'm veggie so I ordered a sandwich with some soup. I forget what kind of soup it was, but that was my least favorite part of the meal. There's a nice little patio area as well and whenever I walked or drove by, it seemed like the place was rocking and everyone was having a good time. TVs to watch sports while you're at the bar as well!
(4)Becky L.
The fact that I visited this place two nights in a row speaks to the fact that this little pub has quite a draw. The cozy interior is decorated with carved faces accenting exposed beams. I'm sure there's a story behind this, but when I started tasting the food and local beer they offered on draught I forgot to ask about them. We had quite the sampling from the menu, but really enjoyed the Curry Fries, Curry Nuts, and Chicken Pot Pie. Food was brought out hot and without a long wait despite the crowd. The way this place is set up really enables people to enjoy the conversation at their tables without having to shout, while still allowing for plenty of people watching. The table next to the fire place is key. The crowd seems to be varied, from young students and hippie types to working professionals. The service was very good, I was impressed with the speed and general pleasant demeanor of the servers. I didn't have to worry about having an empty glass in front of me for long. The Rough Mule, made with locally distilled whiskey, is where it's at. The ginger beer they use in their mules is excellent and has just the right nip of ginger to it. Wish this place was in the city where I lived.
(4)Amelia B.
Probably the best Moscow Mule I've had in my life. No idea what type of ginger beer they use, but it's perfect balance to the vodka and lime. The bartenders are incredibly friendly, and drinks are nice and stiff. Great place to have a drink while waiting for a table at Ted's, or just a chill place to share a few with some friends. And bonus points for the super-cute mason jars used for water.
(4)Brian K.
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch in a great pub like setting. My wife had the Ruben and I had the Nevada burger - both great. They were very busy, yet the service was fast and friendly. We will return.
(5)Tim S.
Moscow mules were amazing as well as the curry fries! Had Nevada burger..can't beat that Montana beef. Service was great. Nice place. Manager took great care of us.
(5)Z P.
Very friendly staff and great location. Enjoyed the scenery while sitting on the patio. The burger was very juicy, as a matter of fact, the first bite resulted in a spray of fat onto the people at the next table and a load of grease on my shirt. The kettle chip was awesome. There are certainly better places, but this pub is worth the try.
(4)Nicole D.
In the Baxter Hotel, this place was nice to hang out in and have a beer (seemed to be same list as Ted's). We sat in old church pews and talked for awhile. I would have to try the menu to give another star (we had already had a great meal at Ted's) as we weren't there for more than a couple drinks. The waiters were nice, the beer was cold, and the decor was like an old brewpub in London. This seems to be a hot spot in town and the next afternoon we walked past and saw a wedding party having a meal in there as the bride and groom took photos out front. I am curious as to what they are serving in those little copper cups...
(4)Nicorie S.
Phenomenal little joint! I went to dinner with some of my extended family, originally planning on going to Ted's Montana Grill next door on a very busy Saturday evening. We were told by a very rude hostess and server that it would be a 50 minute wait for a table. Having three small kids with us that couldn't wait that long for dinner we decided to check out the Bacchus, knowing they served dinner. They were hardly busy and very friendly about serving my crew. The food came out hot, fresh, and EXCELLENT. My brother got the Nevada burger and was so impressed he swears this is his new burger spot. I also got a burger that was to rave about - the Hippie. My kids got the mac & cheese - delish, and the curried fries were a hit with everyone. Fish and chips were perfectly prepared, and the roasted root veggies inspired me to grow more in my garden to duplicate this side dish... Kudos to the chef, he/she is very passionate about what he/she does! The waitresses were also very attentive and helpful. We will definatly be back again. It was a good call to ditch Ted's; I wasn't up for a mediocre meal and poor service anyway! Things that could make it better: - ...
(5)Stacey M.
The fish tacos were delicious! Great location downtown with a cute patio in the summer. Irish puffs were really good and a very friendly staff!!!
(4)KP H.
BEST reuben in town for sure! The Moscow Mules are fantastic as are the curry fries. Definitely a good pig-out night. The environment is cozy and the staff is friendly. The only reason this isn't a 5 star is the lack of consistency in the burgers.
(4)Jeremy G.
I must say the reviews are correct. Had an awesome time with my friends in for lunch. Great service and even better food!
(5)Amy C.
Really great cocktails, though I was a little underwhelmed by their wine selection and their cheese board. But if you can get a table on the sidewalk in the sun, it is a fantastic place to drink with friends!
(4)Jake M.
The curry fries blew my mind! Toss in a signature Moscow Mule and let the fun begin. I was there on a Friday night and some dude bought a round of (sp?) blue-blue froo-froos and the next thing I know I'm busting out the Boogaloo in front of the band!
(5)Philip D.
Took a chance based on previous Yelps and we were not disappointed. Of course, this is a somewhat Irish pub, and the Harp's on draft was a good start. The hamburgers were some of the best we have had: large, juicy, tasty and good toppings. We both had the Caesar salad and were happy with that, too. Excellent food at a very reasonable price.
(4)Helen Y.
went there for the happy hour and was surprised at how great the Moscow Mule was and one did me in! Had some of their food and again another surprise of delight. have been back and it stands as i have stated.
(4)Emily B.
Moscow Mules and Pastys! Yum. Great bar in downtown Bozeman. Great bartenders and staff, super friendly and attentive to all my drink refill needs. I love sitting outside in the summer, great people watching.
(4)Morgan W.
This place may be my new favorite place in Bozeman. The atmosphere is chill, the drinks great and the servers are on top of their game. Fun for groups or couples. It is the place to be on a Friday or Saturday night.
(5)Marianne H.
Awesome place not only for drinks, but dinner also. The food was so good. My aunt and I split our plates (ruben & chicken pot pie) because we couldn't decide on what to get. Everything was superb and I can't wait till next summer when we're in Bozeman again.
(5)Betsy W.
Great service at the bar, super vintage details, generous on the booze. Perfect little non-franchise watering hole. If I were a local, I'd make it mine.
(4)Roy K.
Good local spot on Main St. A good pub vibe with a good selection on draft. Nothing out of the ordinary regarding a pub but the location and local brewery support get's it 4 stars.
(4)Erik Y.
Good service, generous pours and one of the few bars I've been to where there was Karaoke going without it driving everyone nuts. They let me watch my Giants, too.
(4)Lilsparrow M.
Perfect place for my mothers day meal. We'd never been here before but the food was good. We ordered the Reuben( yummy), the hippie burger and the Italian meat, oh and the cheese platter!! Yummy and it wasn't crowded at all. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable as far as drinks go. I'd come back with just the hubby and myself.
